I use this card for my Lumix DCS5 and works perfectly. I was unaware what to buy or what size. Having just one of these is perfect for a week of shooting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect size

I own so many of these. I pick them up in a sale, and if it’s somewhere unique I’ve been, because they’re so cheap, i store them in a SD multi case as a back up, rather than format and reuse the card for the next trip.

There is more peace of mind buying a new card in a sale, than there is in a few years wondering about back ups etc

These have been used in multiple cameras, in the snow, in the rain, and so far, have always worked

Never had one of these cards fail. The 128GB is a must have for any photographer. Writes fast enough and transfers in the time it takes to make a cuppa.

San disc has a reputation & probably trades on it somewhat. I have used an almost identical item for quite a few years with no problems. This new card replaces an older card that has started to be unreliable for important work . . . new loading errors or difficulty transferring images on to the computer etc.

I have now been using this card for a number of weeks and everything has been fine. I have used these cards before but these are slightly faster than my previous buys. My camera also uses a CF Express card and I can’t really say that I notice a great difference between the 2 cards when the camera automatically switches to the SD card, therefore so far really pleased with their performance.

If I want an SD card I always buy SanDisk as none has ever failed me. And they are often available at a discounted price, or as a Warehouse Deal.

I’ve always used Sandisk and always been happy. I continue to be amazed at how the price per gigabyte keeps dropping

Bought for new digital camera that has burst facility. The write speed is excellent and at 11 frames per second there is no lag. I have no idea just how many pictures that this card can hold. Just fired off 1200 frames on holiday at very fine Jpeg and camera still indicates 9999 left! For the price this must be the bargain of the year. Of course there are cheaper options but with this brand name you are buying with much more security and confidence.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’ve bought dozens of these Extreme cards over the years (95MB/s, 100MB/s, 170MB/s and now 200MB/s editions), so I know exactly what to expect. But what I didn’t realise until recently is that Sandisk’s SD card speeds are stated much higher than you would typically get, unless you own a very specific SD card reader.

Sandisk’s recent UHS-I (64GB and higher) cards now have “SanDisk QuickFlow Technology” in order to reach these faster speeds. If you do not own a SD card reader with this SanDisk QuickFlow Technology, you will struggle to see consistent speeds much above the standard SD UHS-1 read speeds – approximately 100MB/s (that’s about 90MB/s write speed). It shouldn’t matter what version of USB-C interface is used, since 200MB/s is the same as 1.6Gbps – i.e. still much less than the 5Gbps speed of USB 3.0 (aka 3.2 gen 1) and much less than the 10Gbps of USB 3.2 gen 2. Any USB-3 port should be fast enough.

Sandisk’s Extreme Pro USH-II USB-C reader (previously sold with these cards) does NOT include Quickflow Technology. The Sandisk Professional card readers that do have Quickflow have their own caveats (the one with a CF card slot can reach speeds of 170MB/s, the one without a CF card slot can reach 200MB/s but cannot read the additional pins from UHS-II cards). Google “SanDisk Quickflow Tech Brief” for clarification – because it’s a mess to understand.

I would also state that I’ve always bought my cards shipped by and SOLD BY Amazon. The seller is important – as you will always get the real thing. I would be wary of using any Warehouse versions as you don’t know who the original seller is. These Extreme and Extreme PRO cards have always been prone to fake knockoffs. The prices here also fluctuate a lot, so I always put the desired cards in my wish list and pounce when it drops.

I personally steer away from their Sandisk’s “Ultra” line, simply because I’ve had too many failures – something I’ve never experienced with the “Extreme” products. So the extra is worth it if reliability is a necessity.

I’ve had the luxury of dealing with Sandisk warranty support a few times (typically the SD card becomes ‘locked’ and cannot be formatted properly), and they have always been excellent to deal with. Just take a photograph of the serial number and fill out a form on their website. They usually send back a better card anyway.

    Hope that helps.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt’s pretty fast, READ at 177MB/s and write at 140MB/s on Windows , 160MB/s read and 128MB/s on Mac. However, you need to have an UHS-II grade SDcard reader in order to achieve this speed. Moreover, you will need a relative new usb 3.2 gen 2×1 10gbps slot on your PC or Mac in order to fully utilize the UHS-II grade SD card reader. So, for all other speed test you see in the comments that is not having the same speed you see in my screenshot, they either not having the USB 3.2 gen 2×1 10gbps slot, or not having the UHS-II grade SDcard reader.

I am using Anker USB-C SD 4.0 Card Reader, PowerExpand+ 2-in-1 Memory Card Reader, https://amzn.eu/d/5RgXOb5

It's fast, but you need a UHS-II grade reade

SanDisk cards have never failed me so far. 2 other makes have failed. 1 fell apart and the other became unreliable. Some other cards are slow to write to and read despite the claims they make. This slows my cameras down and takes longer to upload photos from the cards. For this reason I will stay with this make as long as the prices remain reasonable. This was a bargain price. Just keep an eye out for fakes, particularly with offers that appear to be too good. Be sure (as you can be) of the seller. Do your homework and check the prices from several sources as they prices tend to fall and the performance goes up. Avoid the older versions even if the speed makes no difference as these cards last a long time and you may want more speed in the future. Final word: make sure this is compatible with the device you intend using it for. SanDisk cards have worked in all my devices so far without any compatibility issues.
