partner suffers from asthma and i cant be assed to dust often. bough this initially to reduce dusting needs, but its had a massive impact on his breathing so we run it most nights now… the dehumidifier stops condensation on the window that we normally get in winter.. takes out about a pint a day if its quite damp air (eg a washing drying day)
quiet enough that you can sleep though it in sleep setting but by no means silent… the light off setting is good as the pointless light onto the fan is quite bright.. but there is still and annoying LED (one for filter on and another if dehumidifier is on) so i’ve found myself putting a sock over the control area on more than one occasion.
the reasons we bought this one is basically the HEPA elements are the cheapest we could find to replace, as we are using daily we are so very glad that we made this decision.. we haven’t needed to change yet in 13 months but no doubt will need to at some poi
Let’s put it out there straight away – it ain’t silent. If you thought Silent Night was a description of what you’re going to have, you’ll be disappointed. It’s just a brand name, more befitting the company’s original products – beds – than a thing that actually make a noise. Perhaps there’s hidden meaning – don’t use at night, then it will be silent. Joking apart, the noise it makes isn’t loud; more of a gentle hum.
I have a semi-subterranean bedroom with an en-suite shower so can get musty or damp, particularly if left for a while. This device was bought to limit the effects of this. Have to say, it seems to be working really well, collecting water by the cup full. Really satisfying. The room no longer has that tell tale musty smell either. I recommend, and that’s something not to be silent about.
Reduced the amount of dust in the air and collects water giving the room a more dryer cleaner feel.
Won’t work as well in larger areas. Ideal for bedroom.
Smart design, quite silent, easy to move from room to room, great control panel. Great to have both humidifier and air purifier options in one machine. Water compartment very easy to remove.
This works for the russel hobbs air purifier and dehumidifier. They use the same factory for their builds. You cant really leave anything but a good review. It fits, it works. Good stuff. GG
Bought this to supplement another dehumidifier, this one having the benefit of the Hepa air filter too. Surprised to see that this one seems to remove more moisture from the air than the other one. Noise level is acceptable, keeping it on low in a sitting room soon disappears into the background noise. Filters are a bit pricy, but will see how long it lasts. I would buy another on these, should the need arise.
I am geniuely surprised that, having the silent night dehumidifier on a low mode 24/7 I have to empty the water tank every other day as it shuts off being full. If I kept it on medium or high, I’m sure it would only last a day!
The dehumidifier is right next to his bed on the chest of drawers and it doesn’t disturb his sleep. There is a green glow from the buttons at the top but we think it just adds ambience.
The only problem is that, from time to time it will make a loud gulping sound when a particularly large amount of water hits the tank and there are some strange gurgling and grinding noises which don’t come on often but are worrying me that something is going on with the motor. Operation after several months of running 24/7 remains without faults.
I would like it to have a slightly longer cable but that’s just a minor inconvenience.
Overall, I’d recommend it to anybody who has a problem with damp or condensation in a small area.
Noticed some people gave it negative reviews but the instruction states that this little machine covers up to 25m2. That’s not a full size dehumidifier. If you have a serious condensation or damp problem, I’d recommend getting a 7l or 10l desiccant dehumidifier which is more bulky but does a really good job in larger spaces.
Excellent product that really works. I use this in my bedroom during the day & when I go to bed at night its like entering a fresh room. Really works & worth the money. I brought another 1 for my living area too. So pleased
I am happy with the product but am extremely disappointed that I did not receive 2 filters with my appliance. I am unable to locate a replacement filter on Amazo
