I bought this in January 2022 and have used it a lot. The belt works really well and the app is so easy to use. I should have said “was” easy to use. All of a sudden, a few weeks ago, I went to use the belt but all I got from the app was a blank screen. All of my history had gone and there was nothing, so I can’t use the belt anymore. When I looked into it, the parent company went into liquidation around the middle of the year.
Just whether it will be bought out as a going concern remains to be seen and even if my belt was still useable, would I be able to buy replacement pads for it going forward. I see they are available now, but for how long?
Does what it states and would be a good cure for people with constipation.
Love the belt & app but why so short think for the price you could of added an inch or two had to order an extensio
Occasionally I walk away from my phone and go to another room and this breaks the connection and I get “Bond Failure” message. I phone them on the 0800 number and they sort it. I think it is strengthening my muscles as I can now do a “plank”
It takes ages to connect to a Note 20. In theory it is compatible, and I get to a certain point during the set up, it recognises it and stops at the last step. But when I want to press back on the phone, it is suddenly there. So it takes ages to actually connect to my phone, every time, but once it is connected, it works perfectly fine.
An amazing device, almost science fiction like. I hardly feel it on once it gets going and the effects are felt in the first weeks. There’s a weird sensation to feel the sticky pads on your skin though. It also needs replacement pads, so prepare to have some regular spending to keep using it.
I felt it could have higher levels of intensity, it doesn’t take long to get use to the max level.
IMPORTANT: it tones abs muscles nicely but it’s on the user to lose weight and actually see the abs.
I was somewhat sceptical about the products ability to generate the six pack I’ve never had! I’m 58 and on a path from 18 Stone to 12 stone with only a couple to go. My waist started at 48″ and paused for a long time at 40″ . So I started using this belt and after 6 weeks of use every day at 100% intensity my waist loss has picked up, another 2″ but interestingly no further weight loss. So I guess it’s the belt! It’s easy to use, reliable and so far on the first gel pack. So all in all I think it’s doing what it says.
I’m three weeks into my first six week course and so far so good. I was hesitant to buy this, the cost and that the reviews elsewhere on line seem to be focussed on the fact that people assume they will get washboard abs.
I wasn’t expecting washboard abs, but having gone through quite dramatic weight loss over the past six months have felt a bit squishy around the waist. My focus has become on strengthening my core, so thought I would try this alongside other activity and exercise.
Initially it was easy to set up, connected fine and started programmes easily. There have been two times in the 15 sessions so far where the belt isn’t recognised with the app, and have had to unpair and repair to my phone. To be honest, whilst a bit annoying at the time this is no big deal. If it was a pair of headphones I wouldn’t think twice.
For those concerned about the feeling when it’s on, don’t be. I started quite low the first time and was actually worried that the middle gel pad wasn’t working as I felt nothing, was it the fat getting in the way? Was my belt broken? Nope turns out that once you feel comfortable ramping up the level the middle kicks in, the side muscles are simply more sensitive and pick up the pulses first. There is no pain, and there should never be! It’s more of a vibration when the pulses start, the higher the setting the stronger the feeling but it’s not been painful for me, weird yes, but painful never. If you visualise you’re doing crunches for 30mins it never even feels like it gets to that point-so no need to worry! In my first session I averaged about level 40, within three weeks I average about level 72, adding one or two levels each day.
The app itself provides you with some ‘data’. The FIT points are relatively meaningless other than being able to see progress of increased levels. You can set reminders for the days of the week and sync with the calendar on your phone (tbh I turned these off after day three). Whilst the app perhaps doesn’t offer loads of benefits I am happier tracking it on the phone than just the belt so getting the connect system was the right choice.
So, results. I’m three weeks through the ‘fitness’ programme. This setting is there to compliment other exercise, I may try the other programmes at some point but this is what I started with. I can definitely see a bit of toning on the outside, dimples and curves I haven’t seen as strongly before, but probably ask my partner and he wouldn’t notice. However, this is why I like it. I’m doing this for me, not what anyone else sees and I can see a difference, even if small and this ultimately equates to positive lifestyle changes. Originally I did this for strength, to support me in my other workouts. I also feel that exercise is easier and I can challenge myself more, simply stability when cycling has improved as well as yoga and circuits.
If you are hesitating, because of the cost, the feeling when doing it etc I would say go for it. If you are looking for washboard abs but don’t have 3% body fat already then don’t buy it for that. Maybe this will help you on your way to achieving that goal but it won’t replace dedication and hard work.
Overall I am very happy!!
It does actually work – I bought my first one on their website, as they had a money back guarantee – so I figured I had nothing to lose.
Pro:
-it works – you use it as intended, and it works as advertised
-even better if you use it while exercising
-this is the most powerful abs belt on the market – and the price is just right.
Con:
-the ap asks for too many permissions
-you can’t really use the full functionality without the app – I would’ve preferred more flexibility, especially for people who don’t want to use the app.
A month in – Works well but poor Bluetooth connectivity.
After 3 weeks of progress tracking it reset to week one – even though on another screen the previous data is there.
Close the app and it takes half a dozen times to connect again, so leave the app open in the background and it’s ok.
Don’t try using it with more than one device, eg iPad and iphone – can’t cope with switching – so keep to using one device and you will be ok
Otherwise, boy does it squeeze your abs – addictive pain!
I purchased this to help strengthen my core muscles. I put my back out, which was down to a lazy core and arse (glutes) in order for me to get back running I needed to get my tummy muscles back working, but this hurt my back when trying to do sit-ups etc. This has worked perfectly, I am now back running 3 miles every other day. I can feel that my tummy is supporting my back, but also that my posture is much bette
I was totally sceptical but in total fairness I’ve lost 2 inches around my waist in 4 weeks and I’ve not even been that consistent with it. I’ve also got that vertical line under my ribs back too.
So over all pretty pleased and using the app is pretty convenie
After the first week of use I felt better about my appearance. The belt redistributes fat from your stomach and the toning is visible quickly. I’m on week five of the programme now and a six pack is in sight – good news for a 45 year man!
This programme isn’t easy though; if you want to achieve results then you have to keep increasing the intensity and it can hurt! No pain, no gain!
Upgraded from an earlier version, the belt is a much better fit and design. Much easier to wear whilst going about your daily tasks. The ability to change the intensity on the App is really useful, and I like the reminders. Good quality product, I bought from Amazon as it was 50 cheaper than buying direct. I feel it’s good value for what I paid.
I ordered Connect after reading reviews here and elsewhere (non-Amazon reviews). I had been thinking about it for quite a long while, and finally decided to purchase one. I believed that the device worked on a logical principal, so eventually I became convinced it might work for me. My aim was simply to tone and build my core so as to develop better balance. (FYI, I work out at the gym 5-7 days each week, but I focus on aerobic-style activities, elliptical synchro machines and recline bicycling primarily (very little weight lifting).)
I have been using it for just over three weeks now, and I can say without a doubt that it works, but as many have mentioned, it is no miracle maker. There are also some caveats buyers should be aware of most of which have been mentioned by others.
1) You really do need to check if your smartphone or i-Pod can use the app. I thought that my smartphone would be fine, but it wasn’t. I suggest that you try downloading the app prior to buying the Connect. In fact, that is how I realized my phone wouldn’t work. I searched for the app and tried to download it and was greeted with the message that I could not download it. Luckily, I had an i-Pod and the app downloaded from i-Tunes without a hitch (and it works very well).
2) As others have mentioned, you can extend the life of the gel pads by applying gel to them, but I would add that you really don’t need a specialized gel. Most gels will work because they conduct electricity. Because the medical gels are so expensive here, I opted for a 2.0 litre bag of facial gel, which was really like 500% cheaper. It works very well.
3) The position you are in while using it matters! If you are sitting, you can crank it up much higher than when you are standing. Sometimes when I stand up suddenly, the Connect sends a penetrating pulse all the way to my knees, and I need to reduce the strength of the pulse.
4) I believe that each person will have a different experience. I was used to having electro-acupuncture applied to my back every other month a few years ago. I liked the sensation. The Connect delivers the same kind of sensation, but I imagine some people wouldn’t like this feeling. This may be why I could turn up the strength of the pulses to above 90 only after using for about a week.
5) Your girth matters. I think the package says up to 41 inch waists can use it, but the bigger your waist is (based on the amount of fat), the harder it would be for the machine to contract your waist IMHO. Certainly, the less fat around your mid-section, the easier it is for the machine to isolate your muscles and contract. My waist is around 36″ and it seems to be contracting my muscles just fine, but if I were a bit thinner, I think it would contract them much more easily.
6) There are various modes dependent upon your goals. The app helps you decide, which mode you should use. It suggested Essential Toning, so that is what I am using. The other modes deliver more pulses per session, so I cannot speak to those. After six weeks, I plan to switch modes to see if there are any differences in sensation and toning. I’ll let you know what happens.
7) I suggest that you buy a charging cord that incorporates a USB slot for charging (such as the types that you can use for charging your phone that also have a USB slot right in the plug) because the Connect comes only with a USB cord and no power cord. For me, and imagine a number of other folks, plugging the Connect controller into a PC for recharging becomes a bit irritating rather quickly.
Other than that, I think it is great. There is no question that it is affecting my abs, but it is a slow process. My wife has mentioned that it has been toning my stomach little by little (and she doesn’t lie about those things to me…believe me). And, to repeat a clarion here, this should supplement your exercise program not encompass it.
I guess upshot is the question to this question: “If this were to break tomorrow, would you be willing to buy another one?” I would buy another one without any hesitation this time around.
Fantastic product.
I have used it for approx 2 weeks now. In beginning I was sceptical if this would work. I am not expecting huge visible results as I’m a little overweight, but I would like to increase muscles. I really feel how my muscles work and stay hard during the pulses from the belt.
I have a similair product from other manufacturer, but this can not be compared. I will really recommend slendertone.
Working perfectly together with my LG G6 with android 7.
Only negative is the length of the belt is a little short, and could preferably have been a little longer.
EDIT: After last app update on android this product is “useless”, app is constantly crashing when I try to open it, and I get no reply on emails to Slendertone.
EDIT 2: App crash fixed in new update. Reduced from 5 to 4 stars due to no response from Slendertone by email, and due to missing release testing of their app.
This product is amazing. I expected it to work, but not this well or this fast. After pregnancy and c section my midriff was a sensationless bowl of jelly. After waiting the recommended 12 weeks I started using the postnatal programme. I didn’t even get up to the target intensity of 40 in the first week (started out at just 17) but nonetheless lost 1 1/2 inches of my waist. It also really helped me to feel the muscles again and helped me to be able to isolate and work them during yoga and gym workouts. Second week I lost another 1 1/2 inches. Am on week 3 now. Definitely recommend it if like me your muscles have become non existent (due to pregnancy or surgery or whatever). Not sure how much it would help if you were in normal shape to start with.
This is really easy to set up and use and the app is great to track your progress. The only issue I have is that both my wife and myself use this but we cannot set up separate profiles on the app. If we could do this I would upgrade to 5 star.
