Idk if this is just got me but the audio is great, I had the headset for one month and the mic is broken it was really quite and muffled now it’s loud and scratchy
The Arctis Nova 1 headphones offer a remarkable audio experience. With their crisp sound quality, deep bass, and clear trebles, they immerse you in your favorite music or games. The comfortable over-ear design and adjustable headband ensure long-lasting comfort during extended use. The noise isolation feature effectively minimizes external distractions, enhancing your overall enjoyment. The wired connectivity might limit mobility, but the reliable connection ensures consistent performance. However, keep in mind that the lack of wireless capabilities could be a drawback for some users. Overall, the Arctis Nova 1 headphones deliver impressive sound and comfort, making them a solid choice for both casual listeners and gamers alike.
To use with my PS5, sound is crystal clear perfect for gamers, and the retracting mic is very useful, I have the wired version much lighter than the wireless, all great for a 75year old gamer.
i purchased this item as a quick replacement for my old headset and i have to say that i am really pleased with this product. it has allowed me to play my games and watch movies, videos comfortably and they dont get uncomfortable even after wearing them for extended periods of time.
I’m very iffy about the type of headphones I like to use for extended periods of time. With that being said I am very pleased to say the audio quality on these are absolutely amazing they aren’t audiophile quality but they are perfect for gaming I can hear very well on for games when listening to foot steps and I can clearly tell the pin point direction in which they are coming from.
I don’t leave many reviews but if any of you are looking for a great pair of durable, light, comfortable pair of high quality sounding headphones for a low price tag of 30 I highly recommend these.
It’s like a cloud on your head they’re that comfortable and you can honestly forget they’re there sometimes.
Rating:
-Microphone quality isn’t the best but it’s does the job to a good enough standard so 7/10
-Sound quality 8/10
-Comfort 9/10
-Durability 9/10
-Ease of use & software included for fine tuning 9/10
Very happy with the product. I hope some of you other buyers will have the same satisfaction I have with these.
Brilliant sound from these, no idea on the Mic quality, as it’s not something I ever use (which is why I went for this headset over others as the mic can be retracted). Overall, very happy with this.
if you know anything about sound specs you already know this is a good headset for that, the surprising thing is that they are quite a small ear cup compared to others I’ve owned in the past and despite that they are extremely comfy (coming from someone with big ears) and doesn’t put strain on your head or ears after long usage times (we’re talking 6+ hours because what is the outside world?). If your unsure about trying SteelSeries id say give these a go, you’ll be amazed.
After people saying over discord that they can’t hear me changing headsets did solve part of the issue. With these my voice is noticeably clearer and their of great quality too
The headphones have a very good sound quality, I also really like is comes with USB-C dongle so you can plug in to your mobile device aswell, and if your pc doesn’t have the USB c port, they include a cable adapter from USB c to usb a. What I didn’t like about this headphones is that when you connect it to the phone, the volume of the headphones is not very high compraed to connecting it to the PC
My grandson loves this headset. The mic is really clear which is exactly what he needed.
Would definitely recommend
Got to love a steel series and this one definitely didn’t disappointed.
Always used the playstation headsets currently the pulse 3d, but have to say this is just as good if not better and friends have said the microphone quality is brilliant.
Purchased these as they work on both my ps5 and xbox series x. So thought I would give them a go as i normally use the official headsets for both consoles. And they are probably the best I have used, sound quality is great and build quality is just as good. Definitely recommended
very good in general but the left side came damaged
I recently got this headset and I’m really liking it. Its really comfy to wear for long gaming sessions and also as headphones to wear to listen to music on from your phone. There is only 1 flaw I have with this and that is that when I turn the audio fully up on the wheel on the headset I do hear some slight static. So i have it a little turned down which is no problem for me as it is still loud enough when listening to stuff. Don’t let this put you off, I have tried the Corsair Virtuoso and the static was so much worse and I couldn’t even remove it I had to send them back. I really recommend this headset to anyone on PC as that’s all I have used it for, but I’m sure they are really good for Xbox and PlayStation.
Got this because my Old Arctis 7 headset finally broke. I decided the best option was to go for the Nova 7, because the Pro was double the cost.
Overall, this headset performs great. I can tell the audio quality has improved slightly, as well as the Bluetooth being a huge plus, as I can play Music from my phone, and talk with my friend over discord on my PC. You can also just take the headset anywhere, on planes etc, unlike the arctis 7’s.
There are some downsides to this headset. The main for me is the design. I feel this headset is not as minimalist and stylish as the Arctis 7’s, it feels a little bulkier, however it’s still very lightweight and the standard headset cushions are very good for breathability. I would actually recommend these over the Nova Pros because I have read many people sweat inside the tight leather seal of those.
The use of USBC is also great, I love that they have simplified the charging and now we no longer need a micro-usb cable to charge the headset. The headset band has some adjustability if you have a large head, and there is a degree of customization if you like that.
Overall a solid product, and definitely feels like an upgrade from the Arctis 7’s. I was a little disappointed these were not available in white as my setup is white, but you can probably buy some kits to customize that. If you have the money, go for the Nova Pro, but for most, the Nova 7 is a completely adequate and justifiable upgrade. 9/10.
Overall very happy with the quality but the design has a flaw, with the way the band is set and the connection to the ear cups, the cups grip the top of the ear but is loose on the bottom.
This headset is great. Very comfortable on your head and can wear for hours at a time without it becoming uncomfortable. Easy to set up and connect. Amazing sound quality and mic quality and paired with the steelseries software app, it makes the headset sound even better. Volume is great and never looses connection. Battery life is also great and easily lasts upward of 20 hours. However the price is a little bit steep, I would recommend buying on sale. Overall a great wireless headset that works with both Xbox and PC!
All round a great improvement over the already great previous Artics headphones. Better build quality, more comfortable, better Bluetooth connectivity, better sound, USB C, better battery life and they have the ability to be paired with other consoles (so you’re no longer limited to wireless only with Xbox or PS).
By default they are a little quiet as there’s a software volume limiter on which you can switch off this off when connected to their app on PC.
Problems start when the volume limiter is off though as you’re able to hear clearly that the audio level and sound quality isn’t as good in the left ear cup, when the volume is high enough the sound in left ear cup is slightly distorted and it gives of a very faint static sound (which isn’t present in the right), on lower volumes these issue is barely noticeable – but once heard you can’t unhear.
I returned my first pair and had the same problem with the second pair, some research on Reddit suggests this is a known issue.
The headset is great, not issues at all but: at low volume while connected via usb the headset is crackling, popping and you can barely hear something. If you increase the volume there is no issues at all but at low volume like 5-20% the popping comes again. There are few threads on web regarding this problem and hoping we gone have an update to fix this.
If you plug it through 3.5mm audio jack the crackling and popping dissapears but no rgb lights, so the issue appears while connected via usb. Apart from that the headset is great.
These actually work with the Quest 2. Since the headset is compatible with Android, I figured I could just stick the USB C receiver into the quest. I now have fully wireless audio with no latency while using the Quest 2. Pretty impressed with it.
The sound is better than I expected for a wireless headset too.
The ability to have a Bluetooth connection running to the headset at the same time as the other wireless channel is pretty cool.
Only knocked a star off because the headset often has to be restarted while connecting to the wireless receiver which is a pain.
Don’t usually leave reviews but if you’re on the fence about buying this I’d say do it. I wanted a headset for the new call of duty and was willing to go up to around 200, I’ve had turtle beach 700 gen 2s for just over a year and wanted an upgrade. (Mainly for footstep accuracy)
I bought some Astro a50s but I wasn’t a fan of the all the quality was good but couldn’t justify the price. I got Astro a30s recently that we’re good quality but the phone app was buggy and you had to stay connected to your phone to use the eq and if you got a phone call it would minimise game sound.
After extensive YouTube research I came across these. Now I never really thought SteelSeries as a strong headset contender (my bad) but for the price they’re matching products I’ve previously had that were over 200 without the annoyance.
Yes there’s an app but after the initial update you dont have to use it again (I haven’t) there is a game to chat wheel (only on the Xbox version I believe) which is vital for me because I dont want to be in the middle of a game and have to go into an app to change the setting or whatever. Usually I want flip to mute mics for ease but the button is easy to press and the mic has a cool little light that turns red so you know when it’s on or not.
But the main thing is the audio quality right? Now it’s hard to explain but yes these are perfect, I can hear the difference between above and below and not just if they’re infront or behind but how far they are which is what my turtle beach lacked. I wouldn’t use these for anything else other than gaming though.
Some negatives are the mic isn’t great audio quality (physically it’s good quality the retractable is a nice feature) I personally don’t like the ear cup material but you can buy some leatherette ones from the SteelSeries website which was what my turtle beach had that I loved but they are pricey, apparently this helps reduce more of the background noise but I don’t have them yet so I can’t say for sure. For some reason they’ve made a usb c dongle for a series x headset when it doesn’t have a usb c port but the adapter does come with it so it’s kinda whatever really.
So that’s about everything you can customise the headband and the headset covers on the outside again from the SteelSeries website if you’re into that.
I made this review to help people like me because I know how hard it is to find a decent headset and reviews don’t want to say if it’s bad half the time but I will be keeping this headset as it’s what I was looking for and actually less than I’d pay for it so I would recommend this headset. Hope this helps you guys out 🙂
