The seat being able to slide back really, REALLY helps with the pain after surgery. You can’t bend very much at first and being able to scoot the seat back to where it doesn’t bend your knee much to peddle keeps the pain down. I adjusted over time to more of a bend.
This was so easy to set up. I am woman pushing 50, by the way. I currently weigh 250. I lost 15 pounds already within a month. I ride on it while watching TV. It’s really easy to adjust between my son and myself. He is over 6 feet tall and he weighs 280 pounds and he can ride it with ease. He pushes the seat all the way back and his knees don’t collide with handle bars at all. I really love the rest bars that are at seat level because that’s how I prefer to ride instead of reaching onto the handle bars up top. This is my first recumbent bike. I have an upright bike also. I prefer this one because it’s so comfortable to ride. I put something good on TV and sometimes forget I’m exercising, which is nice because I can go longer and burn more calories. It keeps track of calories burned, time your on it, and heart rate. I’m very pleased.
The product arrive two days earlier, the instructions can be overwhelming at the beginning, but it is not that hard. It was an excellent present for my parents, they are happy.
So far (after 2 months of use) we like this bike. It does have a place to hold a smart phone if you want to watch or listen to something. It does not have a place to hold a book or magazine if you want to read. The pedal action is very smooth. The pedals are too small for me to wear my shoes so I have to pedal in my stocking feet. Also, the straps that are supposed to hod feet to pedals are too small, so we took them off, but I would prefer to have some good-fitting, easily adjustable straps.
It is not perfect, but it does what we want, so far.
Other than that this bike is awesome, well made and it’s a great price for how nice it is. I am 5’0″ and I fit!
Pro-tip: If you have tools, a nice screwdriver and rachet set makes it a little easier. And don’t overtighten.
Sunny makes great assembly videos, but there is not currently a video for the SF-RB4616S. I used the video for the SF-RB4616 (no S at the end) and had to disassemble everything and start over. The manual is very clear though and easy to follow. Unfortunately, there are no instructions for the peddle straps and they are not intuitive.
The bolts are well organized and assigned an instruction step they are to be used for. This is very helpful, though they forgot to label step 3. Step 3 also says to use an Allen wrench when a Phillips screwdriver is needed.
The instructions tell you to install the batteries after the machine is together. They should be installed prior to installing the computer. I had to remove a couple of screws to remove the battery cover.
The function labels on the computer are too small to read, though the functions themselves are easy to read. For example, you can easily read the speed, but you can’t read the label that reads “SPEED.”
All these are very minor. It is an excellent machine and not difficult to assemble. Easily five stars for the price.
Assembly was about one hour. The step by step instructions/diagrams matched the blister packed hardware identified in groups for each step of the way. There were no surprises regarding ease of assembly. Hand wrenches were provided, although I preferred to use my own wrenches providing more torque and easier use. The only snag was the fact the tension control cable and the electronic pulse cable had dropped down into the tubular frame, requiring a long metal rod with a curved hook on the end to retrieve and pull it to the top of the tube for connection to the mating cables.
Everything worked as claimed. The main frame seems sturdy, but the computer housing is plasticky, the padding on the seat and backrest is minimal and is stretched and stapled on the support boards. I would guess these items will show the most wear the fastest. This is probably a product that will last a couple of years or so without issues, provided it is stored properly and not abused.
If you are inclined to return a product for exchange or refund, for whatever reason, be forewarned that all the bits and pieces are packed in and around the mainframe for shipment. Follow the unpacking instructions printed on the outside of the shipping container and fully photograph both sides of the styrofoam enclosures before taking everything out for assembly. Otherwise, it will be a nightmare to guess what goes where.
Delivery guys put the box in our front entry and since it is 65-ish lbs, we managed to get it to its final room without trouble. Awkward to put together, but relatively easy to put together – all steps except 1 is very simple, the 1 slightly harder step we worked out with patience and the direction diagrams.
VERY stable. Since my knee is still far from 100%, it was important that this bike not be tippy. It is rock solid and not wobbly in any direction. We have it on carpet. It is also easy to stand up from the bike seat – 2 sets of handles to help and since it is overall stablevery easy to push up and stand.
Resistance goes from almost 0 to higher than I can do right now. Smooth action of cycling at my current level. Son took it up multiple levels and really gave it a go – still smooth action. Silent when cycling.
Seat and back rest are comfortable – although I added a small pillow on the seat for extra cushion. Also added some c-clamps to front handle to have a shelf for my iPad.
Seems solidly built and does not seem like it will fall apart. Small footprint overall, and digital readout runs on batteries (so no cords to trip over).
I did not expect a lot for $200 and this FAR FAR exceeds my expectations.
I’m 46 years old and work out regularly, but arthritis in my back and knees now prevent me from doing some of the rigorous cardio I’ve always done in the past. A recumbent bike was recommended to me as an alternative by my physical therapist.
I wanted something simple that didn’t take up a lot of space. I don’t need videos of people yelling at me for motivation, or complicated screens tracking every statistic imaginable. I looked at other more expensive brands in stores, but kept coming back to the simplicity (and price) of this one.
This bike was easy to assemble. It took my husband and me a little over an hour. The bike overall doesn’t take up a lot of space and it’s easy to move if needed. It’s very quiet, and makes almost no noise when pedaling at speeds up to about 15 mph.
The small digital display measures speed, time, distance, calories, and heart rate. The time function is really all I use, though. The display is easy to read, until the batteries start to wear down and then begins to fade. I’ve had to replace the 2 AAA batteries about every 5 months so far, using the bike 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes per.
The seat is very comfortable and easy to adjust to reach the pedals. It provides good support for my back.
The bike is sturdy, but I wouldn’t recommend for high intensity workouts. I use it at a pace of about 13-15 mph, but when trying to pedal harder to get above 15 mph, the bike gets shaky. This is fine for my intended use, but may not work for intense training. The resistance is easy to adjust, but again, the higher the resistance, the shakier the bike will get as you push harder to pedal. I currently have it set at a resistance level of 5 and it’s still sturdy enough.
Overall, this bike works great for me as an alternative to the treadmill for days when my back and knees won’t allow that kind of exercise. For the price, size, and simplicity, I highly recommend this for light and simple workouts. I would not recommend to those looking for intense workouts or alot of bells and whistles.
A recent diagnosis of Parkinsons made it impossible to mount our conventional exercise bike. With this design there is nothing to step over plus the comfortable back support makes a world of difference and make this purchase a great success.
Easy to assemble. Display easy to read. Comfortable seat and back support. Using daily, no problems found.
What a fantastic bike so sturdy. Wasn’t expecting that only thing let’s it down no phone holder or cup holde
Seat is a little uncomfortable after a while. Very easy to assemble although the instructions are not the best. Prefer this exercise bike to my upright one.
Bought this wasn’t to sure! But after a little build strong comfortable and easy to use.
I’ve bought this to replace an old model, I’ve had lower spine fusion and shoulder muscles have gone! Do this makes life a lot better as no pain in the spine of shoulder while using it.
Great quality, great value, would buy again for my next knee replacement!!
I shall keep the bike but I do want some money back it’s totally damaged looks awful looks like it’s been used before in a store this would not sell
Some scratches on metal work and some parts look cheap otherwise works well for the price.
Thankyou to the lovely amazon guy who delivered and lifted this into the house for me.
This bike is sturdy and comfortable and great value, it has a clear readout of pulse distance etc, slightly tricky in parts to assemble but the result is excelle
The photos of this bike showed a box frame with two vertical supports that were clearly welded to the lower part of the frame. What the photos show is EXACTLY what you get.
The bike was delivered (thanks to UPS for great service) ahead of schedule. Everything was well-packed to prevent damage and there was none,
After unpacking everything and laying it out to see what I had to deal with, I followed the instructions which were very clear although I have suggestions (see below). I had read reviews for the directions on other bikes that were apparently poorly translated from Chinese. No problem with this bike! And the various nuts and bolts that you use at each step were in separate zip-loc bags clearly labeled with the Step they were for. Honestly, you would have to be really inept to not be able to put this together. I didn’t keep track of the time but I would estimate maybe a little over one hour from unpacking to being complete.
My suggestion on the directions are:
1 In Step 1, turn the frame upside-down when installing the front and rear support legs. It makes it easier to see the alignment holes.
2 Step 2, do the same to put the seat and back on the seat frame.
3 Skip ahead to Step 5 where you put the seat assembly onto the main frame. Steps 3 and 4 involved putting on the seat-locking arm and the handlebar. It’s a whole lot easier to do this with the seat assembly on the frame and doing it in this order doesn’t interfere with doing the seat lock and handlebar afterwards.
If you’re confused on Step 6, there’s a really good video on YouTube that shows you how to do it.
I tried the bike briefly and it was very quiet, sturdy, the resistance was fine. Everything seems perfect. I’ll give the bike some use over the next few weeks then update this. But for right now, it’s a BIG THUMBS UP!!!
Took my husband about an hour to put together but it was fairly straightforward. The bike it’s self is great, it’s easy to use and quite comfortable.
Excellent assembly instructions with screws/ bolts etc bagged and labelled to match step in instructions. A very good idea and removed any guesswork from the process.
It’s sturdy and comfortable. So far so good.
My favourite thing about this particular bike is that you’re able to adjust the seat while you’re sitting on it, so you can get the exact positioning you need according to your leg length. Other, more expensive recumbent bikes don’t have this feature, which makes adjusting the seat a pain in the bum. I’m so glad I bought this and I highly recommend it to anyone who finds traditional bike seats painful to sit on.
