I bought this for my MacBook Pro to connect to a data projector with a HDMI cable. As soon as it was plugged in it immediately connected to the projector. Appears to be good quality, only long term use will prove that though. Great value for money so far.
I bought new I pad and the adapter on my mirroring cable did not fit. This adapter fits the new charging point on new iPads so I can now use my cable.
I was after something to be able to be able to use my Chrome book on my TV.
This little gadget does just that. Great for streaming films etc.
I use it in various rooms. Worth the money.
As usual, with Amazon you have that safety net of trying it out first and easy return if its not for you.
Brought this to use the iPad with a smart TV that I had wifi issues with. It works perfectly well with audio and visual onto the display screen, super easy to use just plug and play.
When looking for a way to watch videos from my iPad onto my TV I came across the Syntech USB C to HDMI Adapter and I’m glad I did.
I’d had an adapter like this previously which had a lightning end for my older iPad but I needed one that would work on my current iPad mini. This adapter has a USB C end and a HDMI end which makes it perfect for showing videos on my television.
The adapter is easy to use and shows videos with good sound and picture quality. The only disappointing thing about this adapter is that it won’t show videos on the whole screen which is a shame. If I play a video from any video website there will be a thick black border on my TV whereas with the old one I had it filled the entire screen. I thought maybe this was because my last adapter was an Apple one so maybe it was more compatible however when I tried a video from my photos off my iPad it did fill the whole screen without the border so the adapter must have the capabilities to fill the whole screen but it’s not doing so.
As the screen doesn’t get filled I am only giving this adapter four stars but it would’ve been five if it wasn’t for this annoyance. Otherwise it’s a brilliant and very affordable way to show videos on the TV from USB C devices.
I used this to plug my work laptop into my second monitor (the HDMI plugged into my superwide, and this one into a normal 27″). It works flawlessly, fits very securely, and it’s really well-made – I can’t see the cable connections wearing away on this one for many years, if ever.
I am fond of the small cable size, allowing for a more compact setup with less wasteful wire to try and store away.
The device fits perfectly with my USB-C laptop for connecting with my lenovo monitor.
My monitor has a VGA port which I have a VGA-to-HDMI converter for, allowing me to use a hdmi to hdmi cable connecting to both ends. This causes issues with the display sometimes glitching for seconds at a time – although there is reason to believe the product is not the cause of the issue.
This is a great gizmo to have on hand. I bought this to interface my Motorola G200 mobile phone to a 34″ monitor. This is a great solution when I am on the road because I don’t have to carry a bulky HDMI cable with me. Instead I can use an existing HDMI cable on site and plug it into this adapter. Also, the adapter gives me options which aren’t available to us as manufacturers ship more equipment with a USB ports.
Bought it to connect my daughter’s surface to a bigger screen for homework, for the price this is an absolute bargain. Premium feel and a reassuring heft in its construction. Recommend.
I am writing this after using the product daily for more than 5 months.
I work from home (even before Covid) and use a KVM switch to connect different machines (a windows desktop, a windows laptop) to my monitor. In April, I got a brand new Chromebook from work.
The only catch was that it came with only USB-C ports and the KVM switch could connect HDMI only. So, time to buy an adapter. I am very particular about my electronics (coz plastic components and wires are a pain as they heat up and get damaged quickly).
After doing a good amount of research and reading several reviews, I bought this and I am glad I did.
In the last 5 months, I haven’t faced a single issue. The product is as strong as day 1 and the connection to the KVM switch via HDMI and to the monitor is stable. The colour is beautiful and the build is strong and doesn’t feel cheap.
I will be happy to buy this product again if I need one in future. Highly recommended !
Purchased this for my iPad Pro/MacBook Pro 2020 to be able to extend my monitor. The product I received from Amazon at first had a glitchy interface however after contacting the customer services, they were kindly to send a replacement model that works perfectly with the MacBook!
It can be be used to connect to any 4K devices at 30Hz (lower refresh rate), I personally connected it to my 24″ 1080p monitor and its crisp.
However for my iPad Pro, it doesn’t work on full screen (black bars top and bottom, also the left and right sides too). This is because of the iPads native 4:3 resolution. However when using specific editing/streaming apps such as LumaFusion, the screen can be used as a video player instead just mirroring on to the external monitor. Netflix and Disney+ are 2 apps that support fullscreen when viewing a video, removing all the black bars (using the whole screen) so clearly the dongle is working fine.
Can’t complain if you just want to connect a USB-C device to an external monitor. Great Product!
As my current television is not a smart TV I was a little hesitant to pay out another 800 just to be able to stream media onto it from my mobile device. I had been looking at the Samsung usb-c to HDMI adaptor which I thought was pretty expensive for what it was. I did a quick search on Amazon and soon discovered a simtek model of the USB to c HDMI adaptor called a Thunderbolt, which was a bit more sensibly priced. I decided to take the plunge, and therefore made the purchase and the item was delivered the following day. It works as simply as they said it would, just a simple plug-and-play, so all I need to do now is connect the USB c to HDMI adaptor to my mobile device then connect one end of an HDMI cable to the adaptor and connect the other end to the television, and Bob’s your uncle I’m now able to stream media from my mobile device directly to my television via the HDMI cable. One really nice touch is that the seller sent an email asking how my purchase was and offering assistance if it wasn’t working as it should do.
Perfect plug and play – I’ve got it connected via a 5m hdmi cable, which allows me to use prime video, VLC, Skygo etc etc without any config whatsoever. The only possible upgrade I can think of would be finding some way to power the c port too, so I can charge my note while watching something. Battery life isn’t a big issue, as I can watch for 3 or so hours before needing to plug in to a charger, but adding charge capability would allow me to use a spare phone/tablet as a media centre. Having been an early experimenter with various media centre forms, the sheer simplicity of this device is wonderful. Very highly recommended to anyone needing a pain free method of connecting up to their TV (and a lag free one with perfect 1080p picture quality, which the screen mirroring of smartview certainly isn’t. Can’t be too hard on samsung though, as the DeX software that the c port uses is pretty good too).
Having recently changed my phone to a new Samsung with a USB C connection I’ve had to replace a lot of accessories, USB hubs etc.
I have been really impressed with this USB C to HDMI adapter from Syntech which I bought several weeks ago. I can leave as review now it has been used and tested on a daily basis (work presentations) and evenings (streaming movies, sharing photos).
The body and USB C plug are made from a brushed metal and joined with a thick braided cable. The connectors are sturdy and have a real solid fit to the HDMI cable and to my device. The picture quality is excellent with great response (almost no performance lag) between device and screen (much better than previous adapters I have owned) For the price too I’ve been really impressed with its performance and durability. The metal finish has scuffed a bit in my bag but the performance isn’t effected. The adapter was nicely packaged and arrived promptly. I will certainly look at other Syntech products in the future. Recommended choice *****
I do like this product. When a product is designed to do 1 specific thing, there’s not much you can say for review outside of that core purpose. Its designed to give you an HDMI output from a USB-C connection and it does this. Simple.
I have this plugged into an Elgato Thunderbolt 3 docking station / hub (attached to a 2018 MacBook Pro) and then onto an HDMI monitor. Even going via the docking station, this adapter ‘just works’. The display was instantly recognised and the picture quality is indistinguishable from any other way I’ve had it connected. No issues between the Thunderbolt 3 versus USB-C port either.
The aesthetics of the adapter are nice too. The cable is braided which will probably help if this is going to be taken out and about. In my case, it will remain plugged-in and static on my desk ordinarily. The main body of the unit is metal not plastic, which gives it a more robust feel. It looks the same ‘space grey’ as my MacBook Pro, which is a nice touch also.
The price seems reasonable given the overall build quality. Also, there isn’t lots of extraneous packaging. It is sent in an appropriately sized cardboard box that isn’t overly fancy. It is worth considering our impact on the environment nowadays – especially with refined products like technology.
I’ve marked all aspects 5/5 apart from durability. I think its unfair to give a product 5/5 when I’ve only just started using it. However, it seems like the design is good and will probably (hopefully) last.
I wanted to link my new MacBook Air and TV together to do presentations and the like, also for home use to extend my display onto another screen. As this laptop only has Thunderbolt 3 (Type C) ports I knew I would need a dongle to accomplish this with minimal lag. I looked on Amazon and saw this. I had bought a USB C to USB dongle from Syntech in the past so recognized the brand. I had a good experience with them and their customer support last time so decided to opt for this one. It was also slightly cheaper than the other ones I was looking at.
It arrived with a helpful FAQ Card and letting me know to register the unlimited warranty, which was great. I connected it to my HDMI Cable, which is relatively hard to plug in so don’t be afraid to apply some pressure, once you have checked you have it the right way! It instantly recognized my LG TV and displayed a 4K Image even through an HDMI Switch.
Overall, the product matches the color of my MacBook Air space grey very well and I am very pleased with it considering the price. The product had some small scratches on it tho, relatively quickly but under normal lighting, they are not noticeable and you would have to look to see them.
A great buy!
