I’ve been using this for a couple of months now and the signal is generally good…the repeater (onward) signal is superb but the received signal isn’t always 100%…never really drops out, but then I’m only expecting it to go through 2 walls/doors.
The installation and management is easy and the signal throughput is fast.

Arrived quickly, vert well packaged. Set up was very straightforward I used the web browser as covered in the instructions. Two plus points over other extenders I have had 1) separate indicator lights for 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz showing connection and status 2) thru the web browser you can switch either band on or off. This can be important if you have a piece of kit that only uses one band – I have home EV charger which only uses 2.4ghz

This is a brilliant extender for your wifi just what i needed powerful range and very little drop in signal.

That being said i found it tricky to install via the tether app recommended, but thankfully guided through the whole process patiently by one of TP-Link’s costumer service team.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used the Virgin Media Router initially but my office on the first floor was losing 100Mbps. Even on the ground floor without almost anything between the router and the laptop I was loosing speed. Bought initially one option of an access point and one extender from TP-Link that didn’t worked very well. Basically didn’t lost or gain anything from the main Virgin router. So I return it.
Got and tested the TP-Link AC1900 and found the best solution was to connect to the Virgin Router via Network cable and use it as an access point. Even on different floors, I only lost around 15Mbps on the process and the ground floor devices almost nothing. No extenders needed.
    Happy with the purchase.

If you are looking for a WIFI booster then you are in the right place. I have it on 5G in an area which even with 4G the signal is poor but this booster is .

My friend was using sky broadband but having singal issues. i suggested him this non-sky extender and its working brilliantly. From completely dead zone to full bars.

Tip 1: if you main broadband router support 5ghz try to use that instead of 2.4ghz. you will be impressed with speed this wifi can do.

Tip 2: this wifi extender adds _EXT by on ssid to your orginal ssid. make sure you are connected to _ext route

I’m using this as an access point. So am ethernet cable from my router to this booster to provide WiFi to an area of the house with an extremely poor signal.

Easy enough to set up via the app and then just had to connect various devices to the booster.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis item is good, it has bettered my reception upstairs. I don’t have full signal, but I have better signal then before. I think my issue is a challenging one the router is downstairs on one end of the house and my office is upstairs on the opposite end.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor some reason I had some wifi deadspots in my house so I bought this to plugin and boost signal and it worked exactly how I needed it to.

You end up having two wifi networks but the setup process makes it super easy to setup and manage.

    Pros:
    – Easy to plugin
    – Super easy to configure with TP Link
    – Strong signal

    Cons:
    – when the power is on (which is all the time) there is a blue light that is on and is very strong, so this would be disruptive depending on where you put it . (I have not found a way of turning this off)

As long as the blue light doesn’t put you off, I would recommend this without hesitation. Really pleased with this product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI wanted to extend my WiFi from the front of my house to an outbuilding at the end of a raised garden. The distance from the back of the house to the outbuilding is about 40-50m and the outbuilding is about level with the roof of our house elevation wise – not an easy task. Thought I was going to have to get a very expensive and more complex wifi bridge systems. But – Pleased to report that from an upstairs window the extender has successfully managed to get my wifi the distance!

Easy enough to set up with an app.

Its quite a large device to fit in a plug but it works so this is only a minor niggle.

The bright led lights on the front, while they look very slick, are not ideal if it needs to live in a bedroom as the only place to do what it needs to as they illuminate the room! Ours has been tucked behind a curtain!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMy house is L shape with main Fibre broadband entry (FTTC, copper last part) into one wing. My garage is the opposite corner of the L. I have a Tp Link archer vr2800 serving the wireless and it does have better range than the TalkTalk supplied router but recently the signal was getting weaker – so much so that my extended (in garage – supplies wired connections from the relayed main signal) was very poor.

I got one of these TPlink repeaters (it identifies as Re550) and put it in mid point between two wings. Main router to Re550. And the garage extender now repeats that signal.

End result: I am getting full 37Mbs in all rooms and couldn’t be happier.
It was a bit tricky to setup.
1 – I used main router to find the MAC of the Re500.
2 – I fixed this IP in DHCP of vr2800.
    3 – I rebooted everything
4 – I went to that reserved IP address and configured the RE550
Changed its name (clashed with garage extender).
Took a bit of reading to leave DHCP of RE550 as auto. I believe this means ask master for IP and only give out another if it won’t. This avoids two machines getting same IP. That would be bad!
I used same credentials as master.
Then I added new access point to devices. The RE550 can do mesh (same SSID) but not with this Archer vr2800.
The 1st day my main router claimed it had no attached devices. This wasn’t true. I wad going to sent it back but instead I cut the lease time down to 120 minutes and gradually the Acher indeed had devices. As did the other devices. They all seem to play nice together and like I said I am getting decent Internet throughout the house. Sure – the phones automatically swap between the SSID. A laptop might not. But for my use case this kit had worked BUT I can see how it might not seem to work for many – you may need a trch guru to configure devices properly

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersIf you’re looking for a way to improve your Wi-Fi coverage and performance, the TP-Link AC1750 Range Extender might be the solution you need. This device plugs into any wall outlet and extends your existing wireless network to areas that are hard to reach by your router. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and can deliver speeds of up to 450Mbps and 1300Mbps respectively. It also has a gigabit Ethernet port that lets you connect wired devices such as smart TVs, game consoles, or PCs.

The range extender is very easy to set up and use. You can either use the WPS button on the device and your router to establish a connection or use the web-based management console to configure the settings manually. You can also download the TP-Link Tether app on your smartphone or tablet to monitor and control the extender from anywhere. The app lets you check the signal strength, change the SSID and password, enable access control, update the firmware, and more.

The device has three external antennas that can be adjusted to optimize the signal direction and coverage. It also has a smart LED indicator that shows the connection status and helps you find the best location for the extender. The device is compatible with any standard Wi-Fi router or access point, and can work in two modes: range extender mode or access point mode. In range extender mode, it picks up the Wi-Fi signal from your router and amplifies it to extend the coverage. In access point mode, it connects to your router via an Ethernet cable and creates a new Wi-Fi hotspot.

It has some drawbacks, however. It is quite bulky and blocks the second outlet in a two-outlet receptacle. It also lacks a pass-through outlet that would allow you to plug in another device or power strip. Moreover, it only has one Ethernet port, which might not be enough for some users who want to connect multiple wired devices.

    Pros:

    1- Easy setup and management
2- Fast throughput and range performance
3- Dual-band support and gigabit Ethernet port
4- Adjustable antennas and smart LED indicator

    Cons:

1- Bulky design and no pass-through outlet
    2- Only one Ethernet port

    Reasons to buy:

    – You want to extend your Wi-Fi coverage and performance in areas with weak or no signal
    – You have a dual-band router and want to take advantage of both bands
    – You have wired devices that need a reliable internet connection

    Reasons to avoid:

    – You have limited space or outlets in your desired location
    – You need more than one Ethernet port for your wired devices
    – You prefer a more discreet or compact design

Conclusion: The TP-Link AC1750 Dual Band Range Extender is a great device that can boost your Wi-Fi signal and performance in areas where your router can’t reach. It is easy to set up and use, and offers fast throughput and range on both bands. It also has a gigabit Ethernet port that lets you connect wired devices. However, it is bulky and lacks a pass-through outlet, which might be an issue for some users. It also only has one Ethernet port, which might not be enough for some scenarios. Overall, this is a solid choice for anyone who needs a simple and effective way to improve their Wi-Fi network.

Setup took 1 minute with the WPS button. The app is totally unnecessary.

Literally an essential and a life saver if you play games and lag. On my ps4 at the time I was getting 30mb. Used this and an Ethernet cable to connect from the adapter to my ps4 and was getting 150mb with no lag. Do not use Wi-Fi and just invest into this and it will be worth every penny!!

I recently purchased this product and overall, I’m quite pleased with it. It arrived on time and was adequately packaged for protection. The quality is decent, and it performs well for its intended purpose. While it may not be the most exceptional product in its category, it certainly gets the job done. The price is reasonable for what you get, and I consider it a worthwhile investment. It has certainly met my basic needs, and I have no major complaints.

I’m not the best tech person but this was really easy to set up, although it says to place it in direct view of the main network I didn’t have that option and had to place it around the ?? corner but it has more than doubled my speed, well happy with it and with the cost.

Added it to my home office (upstairs), and the router is downstairs. The house size is 140sqm.

The extended network has added over 150Mbps to my office connection.

It was pretty easy to set up. I don’t know enough about networks to really give much advice, but it worked well for me, and it was a great upgrade for just 40.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe live in a newly renovated grade II listed barn conversion with a thick stone wall that runs down the centre of the house that was blocking off the signal from the router to the other side of the house to where the router was. We bought this and have plugged it in upstairs on the landing (our mains socket is in the master bedroom on the opposite side of the house) and this mesh system picks up the signal and means we now get signal across the whole house! Would definitely recommend and super easy to set up with the free app that you download and follow the instructions. Very easy and quick to set up and full signal across the whole house.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is fantastic! I recently moved into a London flat and signed up to Virgin Media for our wifi.
While the signal strength was great in the living room, the reach beyond it was not! It would barely reach my bedroom, and almost non-existent in my flatmate’s.
Virgin Media customer service were an absolute joke and totally unhelpful. They told us we needed to pay an extra 8 p/m for one of their booster ‘pods’.
We decided to go our own way and have been delighted with the result of the TP-Link.

It’s plugged in equidistant from living room to bedrooms, and was a breeze to set up. Signal has been strong and consistent ever since!
    Highly recommend!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI ordered this product to extend the range of my router, as the one provided by my ISP was struggling to go beyond 1-2 rooms in my house. This has made a massive improvement and I am now able to get a strong and fast connection in every room of my house.

Setup is easy, I just installed their app on my phone and did it all through there. The device also has some nice features, like being able to control the signal strength and have it shutoff during certain hours. This can be useful for reducing it’s power usage during certain times.

Also, if you setup the booster name and password to match your router, you will then not have to worry about connecting any of your devices to both the router and booster. I have a gigabit connection and I cannot tell when any of my devices switch between which interface they’re connected to. I also have a small server connected to the ethernet port on the booster which has been able to maintain a fast and stable connection almost as if it was directly connected to the router.

Overall, this really is a great product and I would definitely recommend it for people looking to improve the connectivity within their home.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExcellent coverage. Reaches the end of my garden, about 30 meters perfectly .

Only downside is I didn’t realise how tall/long the device is. So if you’re short on space above the socket this won’t fit.

Its Also hard to press the power switch on the wall socket as this fits really flush and is too wide

It also took ages to set up. TOP TIP Jump straight to the last set of instructions

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe currently use one of these TP-Link AC1900 units to allow a wired-only piece of kit to connect to a non-TP-Link WiFi mesh. The maximum supported number of mesh repeaters is already in use (each one has an ethernet port to which wired-only stuff can be connected), so this TP-Link device was purchased to connect the wired device to the WiFi rather than physically to one of the existing WiFi mesh devices. This particular model was chosen as it could be configured to only use the 5GHz band, to avoid interference with Zigbee, Bluetooth etc. It does the job for which it was purchased perfectly. I cannot comment on its performance, as it’s not significant in the situation that it’s used in.

The only downside, and the reason that this unit will be replaced, is that the security policy here is that kit from Chinese-owned companies is not permitted in any part of the network. The ownership of TP-Link hadn’t been checked prior to purchasing the unit, hence having to replace it now.

If you’re not fussed about Chinese-ownership, I’d recommend this unit (with the caveat that I haven’t checked its performance characteristics).

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have used a fair few signal repeaters over the years and also have used old routers as repeaters. Recently I was lucky enough to get fibre to the premises broadband from a small supplier. This in theory gives be 300MBS upload and download. However it soon became apparent that the router supplied had pretty poor wi-fi capabilities and the signal was rather weak in the lounge. I decided to try one of these range extenders,
It suits my purpose perfectly. Very easy to set up and I cant see anyone having a problem. WPS pairing worked but I then changed the SSID to match the rest of the network which worked well as roaming devices tend to pair to the strongest signal. The advice with this extender was to place it halfway between the router and the problem area. This is logical enough but I was able to place the device behind the TV in the lounge (blue light on the device shows this placement is fine) which meant I could use the ethernet socket for my PVR. This all works perfectly. Unlike previous extenders I have used this one is very stable and I have not had to reboot the device yet.
Its important to realise that because of the way repeaters work you will not get the same speed as you would next to the router. There are endless clear explanations for this on the internet but in simple terms the repeater has to collect the signal and then pass it on so you might in theory half the bandwidth. So if your actual internet speed from the provider is slow this may not be the solution you are hoping for. My upload/download (just checked) is about 140 MB from the 300. What you will get though if the device is placed correctly is a very strong signal strength, exactly what wifi dongles such as the firestick require.
Based on my experience of ease of setup, usefulness and importantly stability its five stars all the way from me.
