We have only used this once or twice, but my 12 year old daughter was able to set it up and get it working without our involvement and it works a charm. Perfect for movie nights at home and compact enough to fit in a handbag and take with on holidays. Sound isn’t bad either. Happy with our purchase.
Apart from losing your mind when you think you’ve lost the remote, the “JBL” speakers being tinny, and the brightness being only really good for a dark room, clarity is great for 1080p and it’s very versatile in terms of flexibility for connecting to it. I’ve even hooked up an Xbox One to it and had a pretty good experience playing split screen Gears 5.

It’s so compact that I can put my whole TV set into a small box.

The sound and the image are nice, characters can be clearly shown
It would be better if a USB charger plug is provided (took me a long time to get one)
The buttons on the remote are quite hard to press…
Other than these issues, it’s a very good product that you can bring it anywhere with ease
I did a fair bit of research beforehand-I didn’t want anything expensive as I am only planning on using it for digital decorations (Halloween projections etc), but honestly I love this little projector!
It’s extremely simple to set up-just take it out of the box and enter your wi-fi code, and plug a USB with your files on, and it’s ready to go.
The picture is sharp, and the colours look great.
I haven’t used it for watching films or TV (NETFLIX is already on the projector), so I can’t really review it as a film critic, but it’s perfect for what I want it for.
I bought this because it said there was a ceiling mount option but I cant find one.
Everything else about it though is great!
Pros
Small compact and the picture is clear not 4K but still awesome, the built in speaker is also great I’ve not needed to go louder than 5 out of 30 the size of the screen goes from small to very large I currently have it set up in my bedroom at 67″ and it’s brilliant.
Cons..
There is a built in battery which last 2.5 hours if you are trying to charge it while using it the battery will keep draining but once it is fully charged it will work fine
This is a very nicely designed unit. For the price it promises good performance. The negatives for me were that weakness in the ‘apps’ and streaming facilities meant that the WiFi capability was pretty much useless, so I just used a chromecast dongle instead (meaning the projector WiFi was even more of a waste of space). The other issue is focus; the focus ring is stepped and the best focus always seemed to be between steps, also focus was not consistent across the image and the focus changed over time & so needed tweaking and lastly the focus sometimes popped in and out.
In summary, it’s a lovely package which does not quite deliver on its potential.
Great connection to Netflix and Bluetooth sound system. The image is quite good and adjustable. Haven’t managed to increase the size of the subtitles.
Might be worth upgrading to the next model if you’re looking for higher battery life. The size of the projected image is also dependent on the position of the projector and not convenient at times.
I bought this instead of a tv for a caravan. I don’t watch regular broadcast tv so just wanted a device I could watch streaming services or downloaded film/tv shows on.
It works great & we use the blinds in the caravan as a screen, or if we have the awning up, the side of the caravan. My son has used the inside of the inner tent & uses it to play his play station through.
I link my iPhone via hdmi using a certified Apple hdmi connector & it works fine.
It’s not HD or Dolby so sometimes you do have to download alternative versions of downloads for it to play through the projector but all in all we’re extremely happy with the projector. It takes up no room, a tv would.
The sound is great, the image is great & the automatic keystone is easy for plug & play. You can manually adjust it if you’re viewing in a weird angle to suit your own viewing desire.
I’m a little worried I’m going to lose the remote as it’s small & the unit is controlled by it alone, meaning if the remote packs in you’re stuck. I wish it had buttons on the projector itself but I guess the more expensive versions have that.
For the money it’s great as long as you’re not overly hung up on picture quality being Ultra HD quality.
I would give 5* if the Apps on this device worked better with remote control, but it is near on impossible to navigate around Amazon Prime & Netflix with the remote.
That said when we attached our Prime Stick this device is amazing superb picture and sound
The after sales for this product isn’t the best as I was looking for a second charger and a car charger so I could use the projector in my camper van because it is a very good all in one unit with the sound and battery. I couldn’t find an official one so if anyone wants to get one an alternative is an Acer Iconia Tab W7 compatible charger. The company Power 4 Laptops does both a car and mains supply and it does fit all be it a little tight and is the right amps and volts.
Very impressed with this projector. I was looking for a projector that I could take away on holiday that was very compact and worked of the grid (ac free)
This will project for 2 hours on battery alone so that covers most blockbuster movies.
It has a built in speaker which is really good but I have been able to use its bluetooth output to transmit to 2 bose sound link micros that will broadcast in stereo sound. Awesome. Just watched Armageddon last night with the Mrs. Superb. Keeping the Mrs happy is always a good thing
I have several movies on mp4 and put these onto USB stick which can be plugged directly into m1+
I have also plugged in my amazon firestick into the M1+ and this works really easily with machine so would highly recommend using firestick with the M1+. To maximise battery life for your M1+ then I would suggest that you plug your firestick into a USB powerbank. I have used my Anker power bank to power my firestick. This will mean you can watch your full movie without running down the battery power on your M1+
The M1+ is only suitable for use at nighttime or dimmed conditions to view content. Until battery technology improves then this is as awesome piece of kit.
I have bought a portable screen to use with this.
So if you don’t have access to WiFi where you are going, get an HDMI cable.
So I’m returning it and getting the cheaper version without WiFi and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is basically making it a speaker not a projector, and the WiFi access password length is limited to 20 characters which means I literally cannot connect it to my home network at all. Not worth the extra money.
EDIT This review is of the M1 Mini projector with Bluetooth. It sometimes appears on other projectors.
Not only is this projector very good, the customer service from Viewsonic is outstanding. First the product. A really compact lightweight portable projector with excellent connectivity. We use a Firestick directly into the HDMI to deliver all the usual streaming services. Picture quality is decent. Impressive for the size and better the darker the room. Sound quality is excellent. The projector itself is quiet. Now customer service. Nearly two years after purchasing, the projector stopped working. An email to Viewsonic and their tech department called me back quickly. When troubleshooting didn’t help, they offered to collect the projector from my home, repair it and return it at no cost to me. No hassle for me. Within 10 days the projector was back and working good as new. Cannot praise Viewsonic customer service highly enough. Fantastic.
This is a nice portable projector to use in a restricted environment, like professional or private meetings, in a dark environment.
Do not expect to use it for a classroom or professional training, as its contrast is weak on daylight conditions or long distances (more than 3mts).
But its case of use, global build quality and materials, beauty and usefulness make it a very good choice for those of us that need to project presentations frequently at small groups.

The device is slick in design, expected the sound quality to be better just because it’s hardman kardon branded. The stand is good but when you connect alot of inputs it gets wobbly. Wish it had autofocus to compliment autokeystone. WiFi connection and Bluetooth are too elementary for a seamless experience I wouldn’t recommend using them .overall good design and nice experience but there is plenty of room for improvement.
Great portability and sound is exceptional for any projector let alone a portable one. Its obvious that the darker the room the more you’ll get the best from the image but it does struggle with more than a small amount of ambient light. Throw distance isn’t bad so you can get a good size from 2.5 metres. Good connections including USB C and memory card reader, plus built it storage. Managed to play all the standard formats I tested for films on USB stick and USB powers firestick or similar devices. Battery is very good, I got 2.5 hours in full brightness and 5 in battery saving, so no issues using outside or away from home. Overall a decent device if you’re looking for portability, good sound and using in dark settings.
For the price we can’t expect more than that, don’t have the same image quality of a television or a big projector also it’s far to be bad have some definition, it’s more than enough to have a good cinema experience, the sound it’s pretty good, the battery when you see movies it’s up to during about 2h hours if you use for show slides may you can enjoy the 6 hours. The remote control it’s a mess, but I need to change the battery of it, to see if that it’s my problem, I’m still using the original pass 7 months. In general it’s a good purchase, has a good design as well, I recommend.
One final thing that is a really nice feature is the fact that the projector detects the angle of the wall and adapts the image so the image quality is always at its best, no matter what angle the projector is pointing from.
Would absolutely recommend for anyone like me wanting a home cinema room without having to break the bank!
The item is definitely a unique design which can persuade many at a glance. Small, light and relatively quiet. The image quality for short distance is satisfactory. There are two shortcomings tho. One is the claimed 120000:1 contrast ratio which is not only untrue but rather unrealistic for this device at this price range. Another is the brightness, especially when projecting on bigger screens or in medium or above light levels. If you are happy with these, you are unlikely returning this item as it comes in very nice packing and definitely does the job to a good extent.
For Apple users, get the official certified lightning to HDMI adapter (see my separate review) – bite the bullet and fork out 50 for it as no other adapter will work. Once you get it, it connects and streams seamlessly from iPhone and iPad. As at end of October 2018, I’ve streamed Netflix, Amazon Prime, BT Sport, Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, YouTube plus loads of other apps. As another reviewer has said, Sky Go does not stream due to licensing restrictions.
Only slight cons I feel worth mentioning:
– there is a bit of light bleed around the edges of the projector
– some people may find the fan slightly noisy (although I find that once the audio is playing, it’s not that noticeable)
– the stand doesn’t quite stand true so you may need to adjust it
None of the above mentioned cons materially change the experience for me – the overall quality and functionality of the product at this price is amazing.
My 2 downsides for this projector are resolution and lumens.
Once you know and accept this you will be amazed by the value this offering presents.
The 2 negatives may seem a deal breaker but this was my approach.
Resolution is low. Not HD. HD is incredible but I feel when the movie is rolling and the action commences there is no time to count pixels. Pixels are really noticeable when movie is paused.
Lumens. You cannot watch during they datime. This projector performs better the darker it is. You need to block out the light. Once you know and understand this and take measure (bloack out curtains etc.) The problem no longer exists. Sit back enjoy movie/tv.
Where else can you get 100 inch movie for this price. The sound delivery is excellent from Harmon Kardon. We don’t have a massive lounge.
It’s portability because of inbuilt battery is another huge plus for us.
Our first one stopped working within 14 days which was concerning. Amazon replaced in 2 days so cannot get much better service than that. They said this was first faulty return. Fingerscrossed our replacement lives strong. I would not want to lose it. We don’t have a TV which frees up space in the lounge area.
Tv’s tend to go on just for the sake of it. Projectors do require a bit of set up.
That’s all folks…
