Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAt the risk of sounding really ignorant I originally questioned why the ceiling mounting locations were on the bottom of the unit instead of the top. (This is my first projector and I wasn’t aware at the time one could display the picture in a variety of positions). There was no instruction in the quick start guide on how to change the display so it took a trip to the web site to get instruction on how to do this – now it makes sense but I would have preferred to have this instruction in the printed manuals included with the unit – OK, you can stop laughing now!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use this in my classroom to allow me to keep students separated as the number of Covid cases has once again risen. I have never had a new projector, so I finally gave up and purchased one through Donors Choose. I wish I did this 7 years ago. I use it with an HDMI cord and my iMac. The clarity at about 30 feet projection onto a portable screen is amazing. This allows me to provide my students demonstrations without having them on top of me or each other. I originally wanted a different model, but I have to assume things happen as they should! We are in heaven with this!

Excelente inversin. Gracias Amazon usa

It’s a decent projector for the money. I bought the “Used – very good” option since the price was lower. I’m actually pleasantly surprised with it since it still has all the stickers on it and absolutely no blemishes. Definitely a good option if you’re wanting to spend a little less for the same thing.

I will be returning it though. It does everything like it’s supposed to but I’m not a fan of the resolution (1280×800) so I’m gonna spend more money on something with a sharper image.

Regarding the other reviews about the fan noiseit’s only really an issue if you’re planning on using the internal speakers. They’re horrendous btw. Why bother put in speakers if they’ll sound like something bought from a dollar store?

Overall, not bad for the money.

    Decent I guess

    Pros:
+VERY bright and crisp image even in a well lit room
+Does projects a large satisfactory image on any wall.
    +Light and compact.

    Cons:
    -Sound is bad.
-Colors are looks unbalanced, but can be improved with a little calibration.
-The menu is confusing and not easy to use. Also the remote is frustrating.
-No wifi or ethernet support. No USB port. Only 1 HDMI port.

Overall Very good for the price.

Bought right before the pandemic to give us that Movie Theater feel. Pictures are sharp, excellent brightness, color needs a little adjustment but it’s fine. I hooked it up to my home theater system and it sounds amazing, my family loves the experience. I have about 120 hrs on the lamp and it still works well. I have projected movies on my 100″ screen, beige wall and even a gray wall. I have also watched movies at all times of the day and had no issues, but the darker the room the better the experience. I mostly use a chromecast which allows me to cast movies/shows from NETFLIX/HULU/HBOMAX/AMAZON PRIME/CABLE COMPANY. I have used other projectors in the past, this is by far the best experience I’ve ever had.

This has made for some fun movie nights with the fam. Very bright and clear picture. Small and compact unit. Ability to have a very large screen. I ordered an inflatable 12′ screen to go with this (waiting for that to come in) – can’t wait to have a 12′ movie screen! Currently i am using a 100″ screen which has worked well

I bought this for my home theater. I noticed the resolution was not any where near 1080p but I decided to purchase it due to other factors including: brightness, contrast ratio, price, menu options, and lamp life.

I have owned 4K projectors before that had terrible contrast and brightness. This projector proves that resolution alone is not an important factor for a home theater projector.

The total price is absolutely unbeatable. Images look bright and vivid, and you can easily see every shade of gray needed in a scenario where you’re watching a movie.

There’sa feature that allows you to reduce lamp brightness (which is super helpful in a home theater where sometimes too much brightness is a bad thing (and said feature allows the lamp to run for approximately 15,000 – comparable to newer LED projectors, but with far better image quality.

If you don’t have enough money to afford an expensive 4K home theater projector but still want super high image quality, this projector is your Huckleberry.

I use this with a Firestick and a digital tuner. For audio I use a JBL speaker hooked up with a 3.5mm audo cord. Very very pleased with picture brightness and quality. At night I can use it with a 2 sided screen so you can watch from pool or covered lanai, for day time use I have a black pvc backed screen. This has exceeded my expectations

Ok… So I have never had this problem before. Which might make some consumers happy!!
I am unable to get this unit far enough away from the screen in order to have that “Larger Than Life” experience.
This guy projects at a semi-proffessional throw. It really is intended for larger rooms.
I’m “shooting” from about 15′-20′ and I’m not getting the results I wanted.
By no means am I sending it back.
Just because my space doesn’t allow for the throw, the picture is larger than my tv set, is bright bright bright, and has the cinema quality I desire.
    Note:
There’s only one HDMI port. Buy a cheap hub. I did, and it works fine.

First off, I have to give Viewsonic customer service10 stars. They are quick, responsive and professional. The projector is a quality budget name brand projector. It is very bright. I used it in my covered patio. As long as you don’t have direct sunlight hitting your screen, you will get viewable picture at brightest setting during the day. After sun set, the picture becomes much better to view. I am very happy with my purchase.

So I went and bought a Veratek 550 given the fact that it’s little brother has shown up on 4 or 5 different great reviews for projectors in 2021. The 550 did show up on one of them. I loved the slick look of the projector so I purchased it. It doesn’t support 4k after about 3 hours of watching it would start to get blurry and have delay on people talking. It was like watching one of those asian movies thats been englished dubbed, Also I want to add that the Veratek is no where close to 6500 lumens. . So I returned it and bought this viewsonic. Its 3600 lumens and its twice as bright. The picture is absolutely amazing. I haven’t had it long so a longevity test hasn’t been done yet. But so far I am impressed. 80 dollar difference and you are getting twice the projector. Don’t look any further. This one is pretty great. Srsly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSure it cost more than the mini LED projectors that have exploded on the market these days. I am an artist who needs an easy method of quickly transferring scaled up lines onto large canvases and thinking I could get by with a less expensive alternative (tech is supposed to be both cheap and high quality these days isn’t it?) I tried a few of those mini projectors that claim to have bright images and super clear projection. None of them worked for me. In the past I worked in a large theater doing countless set ups for meetings, lectures, and presentations and we always invested in the highest quality projection units possible on our budget like BenQ, Panasonic, and Epson. So after being frustrated with cheaper alternatives, I purchased this ViewSonic PA503X and knew immediately upon set up that I had finally purchased the unit that was what I needed to get my work done. Image is bright and sharp at 3800 lumens and I can project clearly defined drawing transfers now for all my larger canvases. The fan is not particularly loud or annoying and the unit is compact and lightweight enough to be easily supported on a pedestal that I put together with foamcore panels. This unit may have been initially more costly, but finally I have a projector that does exactly what I need it to do and it set up quickly right out of the box. I would recommend ViewSonic projectors highly not only for artists but also for teachers and small business folks who need to present in a room with fairly high ambient light.

It is exactly what I expected. Nice, reliable, sharp, bright. I’ve only used it for a couple of months so I can’t say anything about the durability of the device. So far, recommended. Just get your hopes to the correct level. This is a WXGA device, not 1080p, so very small text on a 100 inch screen is not exactly readable, but it is quite enough for a standard presentation or a movie night. I knew this beforehand so I’m happy with the purchase.

Bought to replace an old (10 yrs) ViewSonic projector that developed white spots on image.

Tried two different cheaper brands- dull, pixelated and blurred images.

Decided on. going back to this brand. Perfect, clear bright image line the predecessor! Love it soooo much. What you pay for is what you get, I guess.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf you want to watch blu ray 3D movies, you’ll need compatible DLP shutter glasses after connecting an HDMI cable from your blu ray 3D Player (PS3 with update for blu ray 3D). On the projector, there is not a mode to switch off the 3D effect to go into 2D, so that will depend on each disc. If it’s a 3D only disc, it’s only going to project with a double image that will require the DLP 3D glasses. The cinema Real D 3D glasses don’t work at all, I tried it.

For the image, I have it set at 100″ or so, and the image quality is solid. The image is sharp, though there is a screen door effect when you look at the projected image closer and if you hold your hand into the beam of light, you’ll see it. But it still looks great. This is like having a movie theater in your home!

While this has a speaker built into it, the sound has no bass and distorts at higher volume, with quiet volume even at the loudest setting. There is a 3.5 mm audio Jack OUTPUT that you can plug into the Viewsonic Projector that will allow you to connect any Computer based speakers that use a headphone jack to project the audible sound. Once it’s plugged in, it happens automatically. I listed with headphones on, and the quality is much better than the built in speaker. Will be trying a more powerful bass speaker set up soon.

My biggest complaint is the Menu and remote controller menu. I want SUPER ECO MODE so I can get 15,000 hours instead of 5000 hours in Normal mode. That would be 7250 two hour movies that you can watch before the bulb dies out. That’s incredible. But the ONLY way I can get it to stay in Super Eco Mode for the slightly dimmer bulb setting (which by the way still looks great with bright whites and nice darkness), is to go into the settings, switch to that mode and then press EXIT on the remote. If you press Menu, adjust the volume, or any other input, it will automatically switch back to NORMAL 5000 hour mode due to terrible programming. And if the input blu ray film is switched, it also switches back to normal mode without you even doing anything. It’s ridiculous and 2/5 stars because of it for something so critical to making the projector bulb last 15000 hours as advertised.

The box packaging this arrives in is strong and sturdy and well protected. The instructions however, are just pictures, so they are pretty much useless and I figured out the buttons and set up on my own. So in other words, just a “quick start up guide” instructions that are very lacking.

Overall though, I’m very happy and thrilled with this new movie projector. You can also play PS4, PS5, PS3 games on it if you want, as well as regular blu rays, DVDs, and blu ray 3Ds. I haven’t tried a UHD disc yet, but the resolution may be affected since this outputs 1280 x 800 aspect ratio depending. Test out the best angle and set up for where you’ll project your image. I project it right onto my light cream colored wall and it’s perfect. I love it!

With TV Manufacturers opting for 4K and 8K these days, they completely abandoned the 3D feature even though there are still studios releasing new 3D blu rays. So this ViewSonic is a very affordable alternative for your blu ray 3D player to display 3D films (compared to the $1000 to 2000+ models).

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was new to this projector world couple of month ago when I was looking for something to create a home cinema. Purchased two LED ones before on Amazon due to the ”amazing” reviews.. I have to say around 200 you could get an okay one if you do not want bigger screen size than, let’s say 100″ ..however this Viewsonic one is a DLP(lamp) projector with HD quality only and has got one hdmi connection, it’s still better than the high tech (ish) (not soo cheap for what you’d get) LED/4KGaming/fake300” ones. This one is sharp, lens has minimum distortion and the brightness is very even all through the screen, projecting a real 300″ image – like 4-5 meters away from the screen is still crisp sharp!! This projector is called for real; quality for your money!!

This projector is ideal for people who want to have a high quality projector for a decent price. This project has held up well over time. It has brought hours of enjoyment to my family during the pandemic. High quality video, very bright, easy adapters. It projects just as well on a white wall as a sheet.

You will need an external speaker since the speaker that it comes with is not loud at all. It does get very hot however it has never overheated on me after hours of use.

It does break easily. The first one I bought fell about 2 feet on to the floor and had no surface damage, however it completely quit working all together. Be cautious with it and you will enjoy this projector.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for a projector for a kid’s outdoor birthday party. I first bought a cheaper ($100) one, but that one was a dud so had to find another one fast. Finally decided on this one.

The image is great indoor and outdoor. It’s bright enough that we can watch movies during the day in a bright room (we have several high windows in the great room that have no cover), but definitely better when it is dark.

We connect the Firestick on the HDMI and have a bluetooth speaker connected to the Firestick (can also connect the speaker using a 3.5mm audio cable).

The speaker as others noted is not great. On my kid’s bday party we couldn’t connect it to our external speaker (turned out the audio cable we had was faulty, and I had a brain fart and didn’t think to connect the bluetooth speaker to the firestick directly), and the sound was super low, you can barely hear it.

We have only have this projector for a month, so I’m not sure about durability. But we have used it a lot and have been happy with the purchase.

Great image but need external speake

Yeah it’s excellent I got it when it was on sale for around $350, but regardless of the the price of being around $400 I would still recommend it. Don’t let my iPhone 7 trying to capture the projector image while fighting flood lights give you a false idea that it’s not bright or good in contrast, it very much is.

The projector has great color and resolution that’s a 100 inches in width on the screen and it’s pretty difficult to pixel peep where you’d actually be sitting. That being said don’t expect much from the speakers, I have my Apple TV command strip mounted in place on it to use available Bluetooth speakers for sound.

Since quarantine I’ve been doing social distant movie nights with the neighboring apts and everyone’s really been impressed with the quality. Absolutely would recommend if you want a solid projector with plenty of lumens and contrast on a budge

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this as an outdoor projector for family movie nights during COVID. It works great for the price, but there are limitations. First, the sound is terrible from the machine alone, you will need extra speakers if using outdoors – for a single family one smaller speaker like the Shark/OONTZ will work, but for a neighborhood night I needed to buy a high wattage speaker. The picture is generally great, but what you use as the source will make a difference (much crisper and clearer when hooked to Blu-Ray player versus streaming). If you are planning to use outdoors, timing and sunlight is a major consideration. It is not usable in any daylight. I live in Northern New Jersey and the sun sets in the front of my house. The back is shaded from 7PM on in the summer. I have used it as early as 7:45PM but the picture is very light and barely can be seen. It gets better at 8PM, but really not decent until 8:15PM at the earliest. My flood lights do not impact it that much, it is really a daylight issue.

Overall we are happy with it. My kids enjoy movie night each week and we were able to have a drive-in themed socially distanced birthday party for my oldest.

I bought and off brand piece of Chinese junk that said it was 6200 lumens… what a joke. This Viewsonic said it was about half that much and is at least 6 times brighter. I have a big window and it was impossible to watch a movie until after full darkness with the other one, but this one I can watch movies all day long (now I need a big popcorn machine). I can’t say how great this machine is and easy to use. It took me about 10 seconds after I mounted it on the ceiling to get the screen flipped and everything adjusted without ever opening the manual. It is simply a great product for my home theater setup. I use the PC connection and do not use audio from the device. The fan is really quite, and it does blow a little warm air, but not too much. I definitely recommend this product as it is an incredible value and is super bright!

Did a lot of research before purchasing and this projector is amazing. The picture quality is outstanding and the brightness is insane. I was able to project this on to a mesh see through screen in the daylight with any issue at all. Once the sun went down we actually had to put something behind the screen to prevent it from projecting (some what clearly) on other homes about 30 yards away.

I can’t speak to issues with the bulb not lasting because I just got it but this projector has amazing picture and brightness. 10/10 would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersI use the projector for exclusively outdoor movie nights. My previous set up (an ageing NEC projector) has been the source of many happy family memories. With COVID limiting social gatherings, I wanted to create a better experience … and hopefully one that was easier to set up. Achieving this turned out to be an interesting journey so thought I would share in case it helps anyone. The short version — the View Sonic PA 503S was the winner, but whether this makes sense for you does depend on what you need from a projector. Read on for the details…
Initially I went back and forth on whether it was worth upgrading at all. My existing set up was a 10 yr old NEC projector, a bed sheet, and UE Boom speaker. It had the huge advantage of being available & free! However, there were some things I was looking for in an upgrade. Highest on my list was the ability to use a cell phone as an input source (the NEC projector could only use an input from a portable DVD player), plus it needed to be almost fully dark before I started the movie. In addition, it was fiddly to set up and the sound was not great.
The screen was the first issue to solve. After significant research, I went with a Yard Master 135″ screen. It was expensive, but it works great and I am very happy with it. I can relocate movie watching from where I used to hang the bedsheet to the more convenient location of my back patio — much more comfortable. I addressed the audio by using a Vizio sound bar I had lying around, which gave a huge leap in performance.
Now for the projector… and here is where it gets interesting. I attempted to research projectors, but there were only a few sites I could find that did a decent comparison test. In fact, many sites comparing projectors seemed to simply re-cycle the marketing blurb from each product. One can spend $100 or $1000 on a projector, and its not easy to figure out whether spending more gets you a better experience. So I bought 3 projectors and ran a back to back test.
The units I tested were the ViewSonic PA503S ($300), the Vankyo Leisure 3 ($127) and the QKK Mini Projector (2020 version, claiming 4200 Lux, cost $100). I also found a cable which promised to turn HDMI signal into an S-Video input, which I could then plug into the NEC projector. Findings below.
4th place. NEC projector plus cable. Failed to get out of the starting blocks. The cable did not do as promised, and ended up mangling the Netflix formatting.
3rd place. Vankyo Leisure 3. Did a great job with video display. It was a little brighter (but not by much) vs the NEC. The focus ring and keystone adjustment feel like the weak spot for this unit.. and likely all similarly priced mini projectors. On this particular unit, the keystone adjustment was so loose it shifted when you adjusted the focus. And the focus had to be cranked right to end extreme in order to get a sharp image … to be honest it wasn’t really in focus even then. My guess is that this was just the unit I had… but it did not inspire confidence As with many reviewers, I could not get Netflix to produce sound thru the projector, but that was not a show stopper as I am using a sound bar with ARC-HDMI input as my audio.
2nd place. QKK. Like the Vankyo, it did a great job of video, and had the same audio issues. Video was sharp, and a little brighter vs the NEC. It was relatively short throw… I filled the 135″ screen at a projection distance of around 12 feet, which worked well for my set up. A word on quality control. Like the Vankyo, focus / keystone adjustment is a weak spot. It’s a very plasticky and crude mechanism. Incredibly I had to buy 3 of these units before I got one that worked. The first one was a lemon — it never focused properly. You could get focus in the center of the screen but not the edges, which really killed us when we had a movie with sub titles. The 2nd unit was lost in delivery. Amazon refunded it. The 3rd one I reviewed here. Its focus ring / keystone adjustment mechanism worked well, and it was easy to get good focus.

1st place. View Sonic PA503S. The View Sonic is at a completely different level of quality, plus it offers one huge advantage — it is literally twice as bright as the QKK & Vankyo. Firstly the image — its clear, and the focus is easy to adjust to perfection. No softness at the edge of the screen, it was ‘movie theater’ quality. One slight difference vs the QKK… the throw is a little longer. I needed 19 feet projection distance to fill the screen, thankfully not a problem for my set up. Secondly audio — Netflix works on this unit. Again, I had a work around so this wasn’t essential, but in case that matters for your set up. Most importantly of all, the brightness. The View Sonic claims 3600 lumens. It was (by eyeball estimation) twice as bright as the others. This means I can start watching a movie just as the sun goes down, fully 1 hour before the QKK / Vankyo were viable options. This turns out to be a huge deal. The QKK and Vankyo both needed it to be fully dark to watch the movie. Around here that means starting to watch a movie at 9:20pm in the summer… and therefore finishing well after 11pm. With the View Sonic I can start watching at 8:15pm. For comparison the QKK claims 4200 lux, and after some digging I found a claim of 2200 lumens. So for me, a combination of brightness plus a generally much improved build quality convinced me to keep the $300 View Sonic and return the others.

It’s so freaking bright! It lacks a few features like left to right tilting but for the price its great. They did things to cut cost and focus on a better picture which is good. No one needs a great built in speaker and I like to use HDMI switches so 1 port doesn’t bother me but the big thing I love is that the dust doesn’t create dead looking pixels on the screen like most cheaper projectors yeah it gets hot. Look at how bright it is!

I bought it “used – acceptable” and it is actually like new! I didn’t find a single scratch yet and everything seems to work perfectly. I don’t notice any input lag while I play games. The latency might be better than my TV. It is so bright that I can clearly see the picture in day light but it’s better in the dark of course. The noise doesn’t bother me it’s not very loud. The only down side is that it only has 1 HDMI port but I fixed the problem with a HDMI switch. The focus work perfectly in every corner of the screen it isn’t blurry at all. The resolution native is somewhere between 480p and 720p but you can find other projector of the same model at higher resolution. I don’t quite understand but if you play FHD content into the HDMI input it actually look almost as good as FHD screen. Overall value for money 5/5 it’s totally worth it I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a budget projector. What you get for the price is incredible. The only thing that could make this projector even better is integrated Bluetooth for audio output.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI bought this projector for outdoor movies.

    Throw distance 22 feet gives a 7.5′ x 12.5′ screen.

The manual and digital zoom feature allowed me to perfectly frame my screen.

The brightness is good.. best picture is obviously in full darkness, but once tge sun has set, its decent for outside.

Great value. Here are my negatives.

    1. After seeing 3600 lumens, i wish i could afford 4000-5000. I think it would give a much better picture at dusk. In summer, it’s 8:30/9:00 before decent darkness.

    2. This doesnt output 16:9.. it does 16:10. 4:3. Panoramic or stretch.

    3. Sound output options stink. Internal speaker or stereo output. I had to buy a $70 Bluetooth transmitter.

    4. Top and bottom keystone only.. means you have to be perfect at mounting your projector.

    5. Remote only works while pointing at front of unit.

    6. 1 x hdmi, and no usb power option.. we use roku stick, so i needed a plug.

I would definitely recommend this projector.

With the proliferation of overblown stats and ridiculous performance claims on cheap import projectors it’s easy to be turned off by major brands who don’t seem to deliver the same at higher prices. Most will work just fine for the casual user or person with a blacked out room. In my case this is a backyard projector and I needed to know I’d have real lumens over 3,000 (not lux, which is not the same). I had a decent but aging 1,800 lumens Optima and this thing blows that out of the water in terms of everything. Color saturation, brightness, keystone settings, operation noise, all that. Glad I spent a little more money and got this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe use this on our outside covered patio on a white painted wall. It works great early evening but not during day – just not bright enough, which we expected based on reviews. Night time is perfect. We are watching videos from a macbook via HDMI and everything functions as promised. We stream the sound from the macbook to a blutooth speaker.

If there was one thing that is a little off is that it projects a little bit red – noticeable in faces mostly. Tried all the settings for picture but none fix the reddish hue. Now keep in mind I am comparing the colour to the macbook while it streams which is flawless (and cost $2000) so maybe not a fair comp to a $400 projector.

For what we paid, we love it. We do not leave it outside even though our patio is covered, we only bring it out when we watch movies (or TV). Overall, I can recommend it. And we have owned high end projectors in our home theaters that we have spent up to $3000 for. Technology has come a long way and the price has come way down. Sweet.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe first bought a “VANKYO Performance V610” for $240 (it was $280 but included $40 discount). When delivered, it looked like it was used before. then we noticed people’s faces were sometimes yellow on the screen. We tried to change the color mode, brightness, etc. but it didn’t go away completely. So we returned it and bought a “ViewSonic 3600 Lumens WXGA” for $380.

As you can tell from the photos the picture of ViewSonic is brighter. It doesn’t have the cloudy-ish parts on the screen. It is better in a room with more light because of its more powerful light. The main problem with ViewSonic is that it can’t be adjusted and be on the corner of the room and should be right in front of the screen but other than that it is great.

So considering the mentioned con of ViewSonic, if you wanna pay a little more, it is worth to but it; otherwise, VANKYO V610 is still good enough (unless you see the yellow faces too).

I give 4 stars to Vanko and 5 to ViewSonic.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersHabe nach langer Recherche diesen Beamer fr 299 gekauft.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersWe had a ViewSonic before this one, and it lasted nine years, during which we watched at least a move twice a week, and I also surfed to watch a lot of YouTube videos. We loved our old ViewSonic, and we love this new one, too. The colors on the projection screen are crisp, luminous and warm at the same time. My husband got it out of the box and between the moment he called up to me to ask “how about a movie” and my finishing up whatever I was doing and walking down to join him, he had the machine out of the box and hooked up. It was that easy. We use a laptop with a DVD player in it to play movies. The only thing left to do now is to unscrew the old one and put the new one on the ceiling bracket. We also hooked up the external sound system in no time.
I want to mention that we tried several LED lighted projectors of different price ranges before coming back to buy this one, as we hoped LED would be a more energy friendly choice. Turns out the colors on the LED lit ones were horribly cold, mostly in the blue/black range and also all of them had terribly loud fans systems on them, both criteria on which we don’t want to make concessions. We like to hear the soundtrack without straining our ears to filter out the noise of the cooling system. This ViewSonic is quiet and I cannot say enough of its awesome colors.
We both are very pleased with our new projector and look forward to years of entertainment.
If you like my review and found it helpful, thanks for letting me know!

What a great projector! It excels all of my expectations. I use this for garden club presentations and good color and sharpness are a necessity when showing photos of flowers and gardens. We turn out a few lights, but there is still plenty of light and I have even used it with full light and the brightness is excellent. It is so easy to use – basically plug & play. I use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter with USB Audio adapter to connect my MacBook Pro (or PC) to the projector (or TV). Simply plug in the USB connector and Mini DisplayPort connector to a PC or Mac and the HDMI connector to an HDMI slot in the projector or TV. Turn it on and It’s that easy.

Used this for a couple of presentations in bright rooms and it had no problem projecting a solid image.

Only complaint (and thus the four instead of five stars): The zoom lens doesn’t do much. I had an Epson previously where zoom could increase image size 50% or so; this one feels like it zooms maybe 20%.

    Still solid recommendation, though.

I need a bright projector a room with a lot of ambient light. I read a bunch of reviews in the sub $300 price range. This one came out on top pretty much all the time for its brightness in lit rooms. I have to say, it’s very bright. I returned an LED 5000-lumen projector because it wasn’t bright enough and there was no comparison in brightness. Not sure how they measured the 5000 lumens. I’d say this one is 5 times brighter. Bright. Bright. Bright. If you need bright, get this one. This has a longer throw so the image is smaller for my room, but at least it’s clear and bright in a lit room. You need about 11 feet to get an 80-inch image. I sent back the LED projector though it had some nice features: a lot more connection ports, much better stereo speakers and 1080p native resolution. But all that is somewhat meaningless if the picture isn’t bright. I guess it might have been fine in a dark room, but I didn’t have that option. The speaker on this is quite weak. Get some external speakers to plug in, it has a jack. Really, you need it. Amazon has some basic computer speakers for $10 that work fine unless you need good quality sound. Then buy something better.

I use this product in daylight and at night to blow up reference for my large scale paintings and for movies. Resolution is perfect for all images so far, but small text suffers a bit as you can see on the right photo (800×600 60Hz). I run the projector for almost 6 hrs a day while working with 30 min breaks give or take. 3 weeks in and no issues. A powered adapter for a USB C port to HDMI (worth the $20 on Amazon for your highest speed port) is what I use and doesn’t allow for any lag with cinematic experiences. These are both taken during daylight from southern exposure probably the most light you could get in a room inside, over grooves in the wall and items in the way, wanted to show the worst case scenario and that it doesn’t diminish my experience. 3600 Lumens does not disappoint.
The projector itself is a little larger than expected, BUT this really controls the heat. I used to use a thin Epson projector and always worried about it being around anything flammable since it would heat up any metal that was within a foot of it. I can’t hear the fan on this projector and audio is best through my computer speakers (I’ve heard lots of complaints about audio, but the audio is subpar on most projectors in my opinion, whether you pay 700 or 200; to use computer speakers instead, find your sound output dropdown in settings). Manipulation of zoom and picture aspect lacks a little, but if you physically move and try out new positions for the projector it shouldn’t be a problem and it also has manual focus which comes in handy since it doesn’t have auto focus or auto keystone (only horizontal keystone settings for when you adjust projection at a vertical angle). Overall very satisfied. Will update review if run into any issues.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve got to say, I love this unit – I bought it as a temporary solution/try out but will end up keeping it as found it so good/value for money. It’s not a native 1080P, but it delivers this really well, in fact anything I threw at it up to Full HD. The colours are great, but maybe lacks in the contrast, and it doesn’t not try compete with new projectors in the blacks, there is a glow. I have it in superECO mode for watching movies in a darkish room, and this reduces the fan noise to a very bearable level. In daylight ECO mode is fine and I still get a pretty strong projection. I was so impressed by this, I also bought the viewsonic PX747 4k I am yet to recieve, but if this little gem is anything to go by, I’m expecting to be blown away.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is fantastic and I used it at chistmas for out door Christmas movies. People drive by and would watch. I even had my neighbors come with their lsen chairs to watch a Christmas movie! It was crisp and clear and super easy to use. I plugged it into another speaker full full sound. It was a huge hit! Cant wait to have a movie night this summer with our neighbors. I wish it had a lense protector though. I kept the box, and store it in there. Honestly big bang for your dollar! I bought a grey see through type of screen, but a white sheet will work too. The remoted is easy to navigate. It took me 10 minutes to set up. Ran movies off my cell phone, then my lap top. It does not have a port for flash drives. No USB which is another little ding. But not enough to give it 4 stars. You have 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA port, 1 AUX port, and 1 for a micro USB, which nothing I had fit into it. You can use it for business, indoor/outdoor movies, or decorating. Game night in your garage for the guys! It offers rear projection too.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy first flat screen CRT PC Monitor was a Viewsonic and I still have it, and it still works (I don’t use it unless I am working on older pcs now, but was built so good, It does indeed still work and worth taking up space in my house). That being said, when I finally pulled the trigger on buying a front projector, I was happy to spend $300 on one with 800×600 resolution, which is not HD, but what I’ve wanted since I was young in 1996 and which at that time would have cost well beyond a few thousand. I have a 55″ 4K tv and 47″ HD tv for gaming, so I wasn’t looking for a HUGE HD 4K display, just an experience like that of when I went to the theaters as a kid and this delivered it. Picture brightness is GREAT, 800×600 as expected, but my only issue is with the sound.

UPDATE: had some issues with having to unplug power when plugging new signals into the HDMI, it would red light flash.
But actually, that would be like plugging a monitor into a PC while it’s running, not a good idea, so yeah.

UPDATED UPDATE: Just got the WXGA and LOVE IT!!!
Only issue is that I kept the same setup as the SVGA, so I need to Zoom Out, and at times it will return to zoomed in, most likely either the Roku, HDMI switch or links between them all?

Had issues with the SVGA when I first got it, and figured it out, so hopefully this isn’t an issue?
    Will Update again.
Better be able to watch the Championship game on Sunday,,, Go Pack!!!!!

Great projector. Only time will tell about the DLP. Every other DLP we’ve owned failed inside three years. Bought 4yr warranty just in case 🙂
The size ratio to distance is much different on this projector. The picture, mounted in the exact same location as the other projector we used, is MUCH smaller. One would have to move the projector back a LOT to get equivalent size picture. But it is very bright and has a GREAT picture. NOTE: when you try to use the super eco mode, it will not stay set to that mode. After a few minutes, the projector makes the light very bright and switches back to normal mode.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI decided to trade my 300 lumen pico projector for this one, and the difference is night and day! Obviously not as portable, but the image is so much better! I had no trouble setting it up and am using it with a FireTV stick plugged in the HDMI port. This is the perfect combination.

The projector is very bright, and the high definition picture is a real treat. I barely hear the fan noise (I actually don’t notice it when watching movies). Note that since the FireTV connects to my surround sound system via bluetooth, I didn’t get a chance to test the speaker on the projector.

I am so glad I traded portability for image quality given that the projector doesn’t rever leave my media room. The projector is about 14 feet from the screen and fills it completely.

Overall, a complete upgrade for less than 500$. Well worth it!

A superb projector, well worth the investment!

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersWOW, this really worked great. I have been researching for “outdoor models” for at least 3 weeks, and to be honest, there really wasn’t one good website that really explained how projectors work. I’m still new to it myself, but we just had our 9 year old son’s birthday party on Saturday, and the projector looked fantastic! It was bright enough to use it at 6pm (east coast), and looked brilliant at 8:30p and on. I was a little worried about the the light getting to hot, but the fan did its job and it never faltered! While I was researching, this model kept coming up on the list, and again, I was worried about brightness, resolution, how big I could get the picture, so I just kind of winged it and I couldn’t be more happy! So here’s my list of parts and extras that I bought. Of course, this model projector, a NIERBO 150 Inch Projector Screen (really only needed a 120 inch one), and a TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter / Receiver, 2-in-1 Wireless 3.5mm Adapter. I built my own screen stand out of simple pine and a couple heavy posts. If you’d like more info on that, feel free to email me at [email protected]. The screen looked great and the picture was fantastic. The TaoTronics Bluetooth receiver was so I could use my large Bluetooth speaker for the audio. It was all very simple to set up, and the party went off without a hitch. My son and his friends had a blast playing Fortnite on the XBOX One on a huge screen. Nice work ViewSonic!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe recently covered our porch and had an old projector so we got the idea to use it on the porch.. set it up and while it did good it was only a 1200 lumen so the picture would get washed out even with just turning the lights on.. seeing it with any daylight was 100% impossible!
Started looking for a new unit that would be brighter but didn’t want to spend a ton since it is outside (although covered).
Purchased this one and it is unbelievable.. the picture while not true HD is hard to tell the difference and it looks great!! The brightness is awesome as well.. I’m literally sitting here at 3:00 in the afternoon on a sunny day watching it.. now is it washed out some? Sure but you can see it which is truly unbelievable.. once it gets 5:30-6:00 there is no issues at all!

Great projector don’t hesitate to buy!!

Fantastic... buy now! Won’t be disappointed!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’m very pleased with the projector and cannot recommend it highly enough, great product and great price.

I recently purchased this projector for a meeting room, I am extremely happy with the overall setup and performance.
My requirement was an all rounder projector to connect to my laptop through HDMI, with a budget of approx. 250.
I was looking for a flexible projector to put on a table, and no need to mount it.
The white colour also makes it blend in the meeting room environment, and stylish compared to ones I have seen before. Also the size gives it the portability to move to another room if needed.

Using in a small meeting room used for presentations and meetings, to replace our team sharing a laptop screen or borrowing a projector from a neighbouring office.
The image is sharp with good contrast which is needed for small text and spreadsheets.
As cost is factor, I have set in Eco mode and this will help prolong the lamp life, this mode has a good brightness and clarity level which we are using at the moment.

To setup straight out the box was extremely easy, and using the key stone correction to get the image right on a flush white wall was quick, also the adjustable foot came in handy
There is some ambient light in the meeting room and I initially thought that this would be a problem, but I found this did not cause a problem as the brightness and colours compensate.
Sound is ok for 2W and if I needed anything louder I can connect an external speaker.
Even though the primary usage is for office use, for an SVGA projector playing a video is still good quality.

Overall this is a great all rounder projector for a small office/meeting room.

The projector is great quality but the product description lack of valuable information about required cables that are not part of the package. For example, in order to use the remote control you must buy another cable. More importantly, if you want to play movies, then another cable is required. I don’t mind to pay extra for the cables but as a consumer my expectation is that will be able to use the product immediately is out of the package. It was very frustrating going through the process of knowing what is missing and then waiting for deliveries. The worst part was that Amazon Technical Support doesn’t know what cable is needed for videos projection.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy dad needed something in his office to be able to project from a laptop with clients. I almost went with a cheap projector but then after a little research I realized I would need a more expensive one so he could project with the lights on. I found this, and from photos and reviews it looked perfect. Especially the part that says, “Packed with 3,600 lumens and a high contrast ratio, this projector produces bright images in nearly any environment.” However …. it just doesn’t really work how we need it to. When the lights are on you can see the picture, but it is too faint. With the lights off this projector is beautiful. Sadly, that’s not what it is needed for.

Even worse, I went through the trouble of ordering a tripod projector screen, projector stand, laser pointer, etc. And now they all have to be returned. I think he will be better off just connecting his laptop to a TV through HDMI so that it will be clear, bright, and not faint with the lights on.

If my apartment wasn’t so small I would love to have this to project movies on the wall! Also super cool is from other reviewer’s photos where they project movies outside. So all in all, this is an amazing projector. Except that it cannot show clearly with the lights on. From the description I thought that would be possible. Since it can’t do what I need it to do for my dad I have to return 🙁
