Comes with generous number of accessories, including professional scissors and cape. The battery seems to last, but my biggest disappointment is that machine doesn’t indicate battery level. Also, cut leveler is a bit confusing and overall machine is noisy. Apart from that, does the job well.
Arrived when stated. Have used Wahl products for a very long time and always been satisfied with them. This is no different.
Been cutting my own hair for 20 years.
Best 1 i’ve used yet.
Highly recommended it.
Nice cutting, like it, only little dislike is noise and vibration because of powerful battery as I believed.
Great clippers set. Worth spending a little extra for the quality.
Easy to use colour coded blades. Simple to use when cordless.
Cuts hair well. Blades nice and sharp. Happy with purchase.
Been using Wahl for years and this range does the job perfectly. Highly recommended.
The guards don’t lift enough hair upto the blades so your constantly going over and over the same spot. The gaps in between each blade of the guards are far too wide apart. No where near as good as the pros
A superb little kit that comes in a compact canvas zipper bag. The clippers glide through hair with ease and are surprisingly powerful. I wish I would’ve gone cordless ages ago, but nevertheless very happy with this purchase.
A very good product, definitely worth buying for the superior longevity and power boost of the lithium battery which you really need to get a good hair cut. The product quality is otherwise similar to the standard Wahl hair clipper but the powerful lithium battery makes all the difference
i simply asked a barber what brand and this one fit my budget and its awesome. Equipment like this you need to be spending 50+ and this is worth every penny, my only gripe was that there was no blade oil with i
Ha a previous model of the same item without the fade lever that worked very well and decided to continue with the same trusted brand. Same familiar colour coded clips with fade clips for the sides. It take a a while to charge fully but has a good autonomy and can be used while plugged in. The blades are sharp and the cut is very neat without snugs. Never used a ‘professional’ clipper but as far as this particular one goes I am very happy with. You will find many cheaper on Amazon but I decided to trust a ‘brand’ of the sector. Also the price was exactly the same wherever I looked but benefited from Amazon Prime before 10PM delivery.
It cuts hair well, its easy to use as cordless and with the colour coded guides its quick to find which one you are looking for. But the build quality of the unit is poor. The power button motion is appalling. The coloured guides are very flimsy and could do with braces to hold them as they look like they might break. The unit itself is on the big side and the plastic squeaks and moves when gripped firmly. It is noisy, but not loud.
Pretty decent hair clippers, cuts better than some of the corded ones I’ve had the blades haven’t snagged on any hair yet and battery life is good to.
Brilliant hair clippers as you’d expect from Wahl, they cut very good, they cut straight through hair and body hair perfectly, the blades are nice and sharp, the case is nice as well, the nose/ear trimmer is very good too,it cuts through hair without any problems, just like the Wahl sideburns trimmer that I have, i would only use wahl oil though to lubricate them, definitely worth the money, very happy with the kit.
I use a trimmer for low haircut (3-6 mm) and it can definitely be said that this brand is a Rolls-Royce class. I don’t have to repeat the cut hair anywhere, I do it myself with 2 mirrors. Only the add-ins look like they were made in a Romanian garage, but they work nice for now .
Bought to replace an old Wahl corded clipper that I had had for years. This does the job perfectly, has enough power and all the necessary attachments. I’ve cut my own hair for years and this is all I need, hopefully it will last.
We upgraded to this from a 20 Remington and I can’t believe how much better they are! I thought my husband’s hair was just hard to cut. It took ages. Wrong! Sharper blades and more powerful motor = much quicker cut. Haven’t quite got the hang of the grading lever, but charging, cleaning and changing the guide combs is a doddle (and much better than the previous model where the guide was adjusted by sliding shorter or longer, and the clips wore out so that it would slip shorter mid-groom, eek)
Does the job nicely, I get several haircuts from one charge and have all the combs I need. But it is a bit of a cheese grater on your neck, however I’ll keep using it and just have to be careful
The clipper guards arrived bent out of shape, I thought this may have affected the performance but it didn’t, still lifted the hairs as it should. The clippers feel like good quality, good weight, not too heavy or light and feel comfortable in the hand. I’ve used a corded clippers for years so it was strange with no cable, I felt conscious of this to not drop it with no cable to grab. The clippers cut the hair very well, better than my previous Scherna corded clippers that I’ve had for almost 10 years. The length adjustment was easy to change and felt secure. The battery lasted very well and the performance didn’t drop at all through the cut. No indicator to show battery level but I haven’t come close to finishing it so probably good for 2-3 full cuts.
Only had it for a week and used it a couple of times.
First impression of look and feel was that it was not up to the usual Wahl build quality, feels like it will break easily. When turned on it is nosier than the corded clippers.
All being said the cut so far is as good, only time will tell if it remains so. Being cordless is a big bonus for being able to trim my beard an cut my hair anywhere.
First one I bought, the upper half of the moulding wasn’t flush with the lower half and so the lever wouldn’t move up past it so make sure to check before you keep!
Sent it back, the replacement is better but not perfect. A bit disappointed as for that money it should be, and had been working my way up to buying for a long while. Bought cos my 12 year old Remington waterproof with the 2 sliding guides is dying.
Have only used briefly to do sides, getting used to not being able to see through the guides as my old one’s guides are transparent. The longer battery life will be useful if I do the whole barnet ever again, as my skills weren’t up to the 40 mins limit of the Remington. Will report back if it doesn’t last as long as they say.
Nice case and comes with oil, scissors, brush, mini cape, the 8 coloured guides and L+R side tapers – you can also buy the black + white longer guides (nos 10 and 12? check here and Ebay for best price) – and there are also 1.5mm and 4.5mm guides available separately, got very cheaply from a supplier on here. Also check Remington site for other extras.
First off, both clippers are great, I would recommend either of them, they cut well and the colour coded heads are very helpful. I have bough both over the past year, so will be comparing them and concluding whether the more expensive one is worth the price increase.
They both come with oil, a tiny brush, the clipper heads of varioius sizes, a charger, scissors and a comb. The lithium version adds a bib to the package.
By putting both side by side, it’s immediately obvious that the lithium version is much bigger, so if you have small hands, it might be awkward to handle. It’s not much heavier though. Apart from the adjustment lever, the only real physical differences are the size, the location of the power button and the charging port. They use different chargers and the lithium version is much easier to put in.
This applies to both, but I wish it would give you more warning when you’re running out of battery, usually it means you have about 30 seconds left when it goes red.
At the end of the day, if you want more control over the lengths, then you want the lithium version, because the adjustment lever is extremely useful (you generally want more control if you’re going for a fade).
If your hands are small and/or you’re not doing a fade, then the cheaper version is easy to recommend, it often goes on sale for 19.99 and, at that price, it’s an absolute bargain.
I bought this to use whilst in compulsory lockdown in a hotel overseas.
I was surprised that the clippers were easy to use, sharp and didn’t jam. The battery lasted well past 90mins.
You will need to compensate slightly the angle of “hold” – compared to a heavier corded Wahl – the lack of cable will cause it “hang differently” in your hand. You’ll notice this if you tend to blend with an unguarded “0” through to a “1” so very little room for error, as we’re talking mms at this point.
You can’t do a “bald/skin” fade either with these (even with taper lever). You’ll need to buy something separate like a shaver foil razor or something.
Since then, I’ve recharged several times & it took less than 15mins to “top-up” the charge each time.
The clipper guards are cheap thin plastic: “good enough” but don’t expect it to last more than 12-18months, without deforming.
I haven’t had them long enough to comment on it’s reliability.
Otherwise, the bundled scissors are cheap quality/exactly the same bundled 10 years ago. The handle is hard cheap plastic & prone to cracking when/if you drop them. They’re just about fine for cutting paper, but not really hair.
The comb .. well, it’s plastic and it’s a comb. Nose hair trimmer remains unused.
The clippers are solid performers. The other bits of bundled kit aren’t really worth it, see if you can buy the clippers separately for best value for money.
I have only used these once so cannot really comment on battery life. Although after about 30mins of use there is no sign of battery getting low. They cut nicely and are nice and light. Comes with loads of attachments, cutting cape, comb, scissors and blade oil. The only negative that i can think of is that they feel a bit cheap. Probably because they are so light. And the silver panel on the front doesn’t seem to fit properly as it moves a bit when touching it.
These Wahl trimmers are the ones with the Lithium Ion battery which is the better product and normally cost about 80.
The ones that people have been complaining about in reviews in regards to having poor battery life and breaking easily are the cheaper model that costs approx 30.
These trimmers have a fantastic battery life and run for approx 2 hours on a single charge.
All the accessories seem to be of good quality and the blades are very sharpe which cut through hair like a hot knife through butter.
Being cordless makes them easier to handle however if the battery does run low mid haircut they can be used plugged to the mains.
All in all fantastic hair clippers.
