Had no problems installing this in my PS5, just followed videos online, and didn’t rush the screwing process.
Was very fortunate for delaying the purchase of this 1TB version, as it was then discounted from 139.99 to 99.99.
I only needed 1TB as I don’t play too often.
Bought this after watching a fb advert tbh. But it works really well. Very easy to fit and I have chucked loads of games on my ps5 and still have plenty of room for more. I bought this version over the competitors as it was the one licenced by ps5. I can’t recommend it over others but works very well and I’m happy with it.
used this on my ps5 and it’s a game changer as i can now download so many games and have fast loading times. the only thing is the price is a bit high for what it is but all the rest are similar anyway so can’t get it any cheaper. would recommend.
Bought this when it was on offer because the prices of these are ridiculous even today.
No idea why Sony cheaped out when making the PS5 with its bog standard 825gb of storage even when the console is set up ready to go you actually only have about 637gb left, regardless I now have a full 2tb storage and it was extremely easy to install.
After sone research, I found this is at the time (2022) one of the best performing SSD storage devices for PS5. I would definitely recommend anything from 2TB upwards, as the PS5 is known for not having much memory especially if you’ve come from PS4. Saved games really do take up a load of space (Call of Duty), so it’s key you buy a fairly large SSD so it’s future proof.
Installing the SSD is fairly easy. I highly recommend watching some of the install content on YouTube before attempting to avoid any issues.
It’s amazing how easy it is to install and format quickly. If you prepare a cross screwdriver in advance and watch a video on YouTube, there is an official video directly from them, so you have it in two minutes. It works fantastically.
Super fast access and I store everything on it – downloads and saves. I think it might even be better than the original storage for speed and certainly for size.
This was easy to fit, easy to set up and works exactly like it should. No problem with it at any point.

Totally straightforward installation, up and running immediately. PS5 now has more than double the storage space. All good.
Not had for a long amount of time but so far so good, very easy to install with the help of a installation video on YouTube to be on the safe side, very fast ssd perfect for my PlayStation 5

Does the job, inbuild heatsink is a great time saver. A bit on the expensive side though.
This makes more gaming space for my ps5 games it more than doubles the capacity of my console I would highly recommend this to any one with ps5 and I will be advising my friends to get one.

Well worth the expense as it’s officially licensed product.
Really easy to install and if needed there’s a video’s on YouTube on how to do it, takes less than 5mins to do.
Has really great read/write speeds too, can’t fault it been using for couple weeks now no problems.
Highly recommend it.
Naturally this is TLC NAND with DRAM cache (1GB?) and PCIe4 x4 lane connection.
You can also toggle 4k LBA (preferred) or 512-byte (default) when secure erasing / provisioning.
Performance is naturally stellar, with 7GB/s read and 6.5GB/s write and thus exceeded PS5 requirements. Do note that there may be firmware updates to apply in a PC before you install it in a PS5. Naturally you can use it in a PC and use the WD software to change the RGB LED light.
I am normally a Samsung SSD guy, but this WD seems to slightly beat even the Samsung 980 Pro which is no mean feat.
Only negative is that you may wish you bought the 2GB… or even 4GB one ;))

Wanted to buy this as my PS5 hard drive is nearly full.
Easy to install(just look on youtube) but just take care in opening your PS5.
This expansion card is an add on hard drive which is slotted and screwed into place and is an extra hard drive card on top of the built in hard drive on the PS5.
I use this expansion card to only save PS5 games and I also have an external hard drive connected to the PS5 to only save PS4 game.
It’s a lot of money buy when on sale ,you won’t regret your purchase.
Took 5 mins at most to install, now able to store a nice amount of games.
Brukar anvnda WD i datorn och nu ven i PS5:an. Ville gra det enkelt fr mig s drfr kpte jag den hr fr att den r certifierad fr Playstation, fast den var lite dyrare och “ldre”. Har aldrig haft problem med WD frut s det var ett givet kp.

This was installed on our PS5 to increase internal storage as we already had an external usb drive but not all games would run from it.
Relatively easy to install ( but I’ve built and upgraded pcs since my first 286 machine do it doesn’t worry me opening up a machine). The only thing I would say is make sure you have the right size screwdriver and look up the instructions on the PlayStation site before you start.
Having installed it the console recognised that the extra storage was there and we are happily loading and playing games from it now.
A little expensive but we felt it was worth it.
