It’s a good solid item but hubby doesn’t want to lug it to the beach as it’s pretty heavy.
We use it at home.
Use this all the time… Very easy to use and clean after.
I have owned a Weber BBQ for over 20 years now, all others being ‘garden-based’ ones. I love them, so am happily biased. Yes, they are expensive, more expensive than most – but, for us, really worth it. I am not a great cook/chef, but the Webers make it easy to do BBQs, even for me. This little one was ideal for what we wanted – a small portable BBQ to take away on staycations and events with us. I got the gas one (just for ease), even though my one at home is a combi (Charcoal with gas ignition – and the same canister works on both!), and it fires up fast (as you’d expect) – and, in some situations, is a little safer than the Charcoal version (i.e in one case we rented a small apartment with a balcony where Charcoal BBQs were not permitted). Really pleased, it works really well and even with a family of 5, there is enough space to cook a good meal of burgers, sausages etc (although in a phased approach!).
The Weber go anywhere is a great portable BBQ. Folds away nice and neatly and can pack a smaller chimney starter inside it. Other accessories are also available such as cast iron grills etc. this is my second one and the first is still fine. Purchased when on offer but even full price a great BBQ for camping. The Smokey Joe looks better but isn’t as practical and uses more space. Easily shut down the vents to put the BBQ out and be able to reuse the charcoal. Can use as an oven so camenbert, garlic bread and cheese toasties become a camping favourite
I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time and finally the price dropped. Used once so far and was perfect! Would be ideal if a thermometer was on top for internal heat when the lid is on but nonetheless it can be added later by drilling a hole etc. Sturdy and comes with a long guarantee as does all Weber products.
This is the 3rd weber I now own and I’ve previously bought 2 webers for my friends for birthdays. They are by far the best and last year’s and years. I’ve wanted this for ages but thought 100+ for a small portable bbq was Abit much, so bought on prime day when it went down to 68. So happy with the size of it and portability. I camp alot so it will be so handy, and when I don’t want to light the 57cm for me and my husband this will be perfect! Also handy to have as a small vegan/veggie bbq when I have events 🙂
Well made and robust. Added a temperature gauge and use a stater chimney. Excellent results. As with all BBQ’s not very easy to clean out.
The BBq came with no nuts to attach the handle to the lid. So I have been in contact with weber they have so far sent me a box containing 4 washers and a clip. Not what I needed.I need 2 nuts.very frustrating
Very portable. Legs wrap around bbq when not in use. This the locks the lid in-place and reduces it size to carry and store. Very easy to clean with a great range of branded accessories.
Quite simply the best small BBQ for jonny-no-mates who only require one or two servings.
I have a big Oil drum BBQ but it’s too much faff to fire up for just the 3 of us. I bought this to use regularly and fired up on a dull day to cook Jerk Chicken. It started raining as soon as I stuck meat on the grill and I thought “There goes my dinner” but it is so compact and hot that it beavered on despite conditions. Rain evaporated on lid and chicken was perfect in 20 minutes. Gonna be using this several times a week, even in winter. Legendary piece of ki
I did a lot of research, decided on this one and I’m very happy. Bought as a gift and the recipient loves it too. Perfect size, easily catered for 3. Not cumbersome to carry, in fact very easy with its carry handle that folds over the bbq securely.
A quality item. It’s not the cheapest but seems to be holding up very well. It gets extremely hot thanks to the great air flow adjustments. Buy cheap buy twice people!
This bbq won’t be used until next summer but having also bought the grill gates we can’t wait. Arrived in good time and quality appears to be excellent. Only time will tell.
We love this bbq, we’ve take it to the beach a couple of times and it is great. Cooks food lovely. Easy to clean perfect for outdoor adventures and evenings at the beach, park, woods and even the garden if we didn’t want to use the big BBQ!
There are lots of accessories for this very popular form-factor of grill. Like all Weber stuff, it’s built to last many years. There is nothing that can really go wrong with it.
There are loads of how-to videos and great recipe ideas out there.
When I’m travelling, it depends if I am staying at a camp site for a longer time, or overnight. If the latter then I use the Weber GA Gas version as it cools down quicker and is easier to pack away. If I’m serving a few more people, I use the charcoal and gas grill side by side for different things. Both charcoal and gas can cook identically if you know what you’re doing, but nothing beats the theatre of charcoal and caveman satisfaction.
PS. I found a perfect pizza stone for the Weber GA also on amazon “Waykea 10″ x 10.4″ Pizza Stone for Toaster Oven | Rectangular Cordierite Grilling Stone Bread Baking”. It is a literal perfect fit for the 10″ wide Weber and to me is another must-have.
Very highly recommended.
I have a number of grills and smokers but this is still one of my favourites, bought it for beach use over the summer and cant fault it.easy to carry and cooks like a dream.
Used this for a few trips now:
Don’t let your pissed up mates do the initial assembly as they miss out/loose washers ..had to rebuild on return home
..lived for a week using this as main cooking and heating devise loved it’s portability
Also by being rectangular with a straight sided lid gives a decent size cooking area with lid o
Just received & assembled in 10 minutes – very easy. Looks pretty sturdy; just a couple of small annoyances – the vents in the top are tightly fitting so when you turn them it scratches the paint off the lid. Probably as fitted by rivets; would have preferred bolts. Also, the bowl to measure out charcoal is just marginally too tall to fit inside & close the BBQ (although I’ve found putting it on the bottom tray with grate on top does the trick…
Had my Gas GA for 7yrs and it’s been very good indeed, not the same as a coal GA but less fire starting when doing smaller meals, gives good results none the less and is fairly easy to dismantle for cleaning.the cooking grate gets a bit grotty but responds well to very scratchy pads and soaking in oven spray as it’s enamel coated. I’m very happy with mine and bought another for the daughter.
Fairly good on gas usage but always have a spare handy. It’s fantastic for steaks, burgers, kebabs, chicken portions, chops etc I’ve even done salmon planking on it.
Ok, I have had this for a couple of months and have been impressed. It is easy to carry and fold up although the latch is starting to get a little loose. Plus I haven’t done this ‘hot’ on the beach and as the lid doesn’t lock on you have to waiting until cool.
A great additional feature would be storing a ‘bag’ of coals inside ready but even the Weber bags won’t fit neatly which is a shame as they do burn really well and my BBQ coal of choice.
There is a plate in the bottom which keeps the hot coals off the base. This appears to be sacrificial as it is warping. However this has deteriorated further and maybe the way it is – just a bit surprised.
The metal grate on which the coals sit has bent under the heat and weight of the coals and this is a surprise and disappointment. I wouldn’t have expected this and I now turn it over to try and get the bend to even out.
The griddle is rusting as it has been left out once or twice and so when coupled with the grate it relates to a ‘quality’ issue. Bit disappointed but not a show stopper. Easy to clean – have put the lid and griddle in dishwasher! Perhaps not recommended but it works for me! One thing to remember is the height of the griddle is fixed and low so you don’t need many coals or you burn the food.
Hmmm, irrespective of these points I would buy another. It cooks well, the paper manual is basic and informative for a novice like me and with some experimentation I am enjoying the experience of trying different things.
Using a chimney to light loose coals is a God-send and as said before the Weber ones work well and don’t taste the food.
Bought this to do a barbecue lunch for my sons kayakking birthday party. Very well designed and a real workhorse. Easy to light with adjustable vents and I could get 7 UK size half pounders on in one go, so managed to feed a dozen people successfully with burgers, bangers and kebabs. Would take a dozen sausages easily. Cooks a bit hot maybe as the grill is quite close to the charcoal and if you are maxing the capacity you cant have a cool half and a hot half by moving the coals. Very pleased with this indeed. Two tiny probs – I lost the little socket tool provided for tightening the handle screws, though a normal spanner works fine. Id love a carry bag but the one that seems to be available is shaped for the gas version, not the charcoal version.
Wow! Best portable bbq ever. Have had many over the years that have been adequate in comparison to this. Blown away with the design speed and ease of use! Money well spent as seems really well built and looks set to last longer than any others.
Really like this product.
Have used is as a travel BBQ, but the main benefit for us has been having a small BBQ at home when lighting the big Weber seems like overkill. Plenty for space for cooking for a two person BBQ, easy to clean and less charcoal needed.
There are cheaper variations of this available, but I trust Weber to build a good product, so feels like less of a gamble.
This was very easy to build would recommend reading instructions anyway for peace a of mind.
I added the temperature gauge also which is very handy also purchased this from Amazon just need to drill a hole.
You won’t be dissatisfied with Weber go anywhere you tube will give you some hacks and mods you can do to the bbq and also cooking.
Wish I had purchased this ages ago food taste amazing 5 stars.
My first BBQ/smoker. The ability to cook indirectly has been a revelation – really enjoyed results. Downside is that Weber have stopped supplying side handles. Can’t see why as they make it so much easier to lift and release the legs as well as moving it around during cooking. Have added a couple together with a temperature gauge and handles for the top vents – all stuff on Youtube and worth the effort. Really good piece of kit for a couple of people.
This is a great BBQ, very well made and a great portable size. Go on YouTube for some great videos on how you can modify the Go Anywhere to maximise space! Big enough for both direct and in-direct cooking
Product arrived a week early. Took about week for them to ship but once dispatched arrived within 24 hours.
The bbq was immaculate unlike others who have had complaints: I had reservations but new Weber was Best Buy.
I’m not experienced griller but used it for first time today it practically got itself going. Absolutely love i
There’s a reason why this is the market standard; every part of it seems to have a clear purpose and does it perfectly.
My friend has the same (almost exactly the same) model and it is at least 10 years old. Not a single problem with it, ever.
So far, I’ve had it a few months, but it had been excellent.
If you’re looking at a 30, do yourself a huge favour and spend the extra, I doubt you will ever regret it.
Very easy to assemble and handy for travel, we have used this camping and it’s perfect for cooking for 8 whilst we were away. You cannot go wrong with this brand it’s worth spending that but extra as this will last and last.
Bought this to use in our caravan so we can grill direct and indirect as well as offset smoke, 1st class quality from Weber and plenty big enough for me and the missus, can (just) accommodate 4 x 270g steaks like the special offer ones from Tesco, Asda etc. We bought the zip up carry bag as well to keep everything clean when stored under the beds in the caravan. We love it so much we also use it in the back garden.
Had a splendid meal with friends who had a Weber Mini-BBQ & very much impressed, so we bought one for ourselves. Won’t be long before we enjoy our own mini-BBQ, can’tt wait !!
Nice compact BBQ by weber. Ideal for table top or for the beach. Black enamel is nice & stylish . Easy assembly. Can store items inside it that you’d need to use eg: tongs, firelighters. Bag is available that is designed for it is great & easy to use.
Absolutely love this little BBQ. We have a big has BBQ but sometimes we just need something smaller when it is just the 2 of us.
It was easy to put together and you can easily cook for 3 people at once and the heat lasts for hours too.
Compact enough to pop into the car to take away with you as well.
As you would expect for Weber the quality is first class, where this comes into its own is how quick and easily it can be cleaned. It’ll cook 8 burgers in one go no problem. With the Weber charcoal starter it’s ready in 20 minutes and can be all cleaned and put away in about 10 to 15 minutes, making on the hopnpost work BBQs more likely in our house! Which we never did with the large gas BBQ, to much work just to cook 3 or 4 burgers
I love my new “go any where Barbecue” it was very easy to put together and to use too, we already have a Weber Kettle drum but it’s just too big to use when there’s only two people to cook for, this new barbecue is the perfect size for us, yes they are expensive but it’s very good quality and will last for years, it easily fits into a bag and is ready to go to the beach, countryside or wherever you’re going, I’d definitely recommend this barbecue.
Easy to assemble and a reat little BBQ.
Purchased to use when away with my campervan and had many people comment on how great it was!
Perfect BBQ for cooking for the family whilst away from home!
Oh how much do I love you Go-anywhere *swoons*
Sorry – I digress *blushing*
Got my little beauty the other day so not used it yet but I have no doubts that it will be brilliant! I have for many years coveted this little darling as the ‘mutts nuts’ of portable BBQ’ing – not so sure about the portable bit as it weighs a ton but as hubby will be with me he can carry it! The grill is a perfect size for cooking for 2 or 4 on so there will be no fighting over who gets the cooked burgers first.
Easy peasy to put together with very clear instructions (just make sure you get the legs the right way round). Built and ready for use in less then 10 minutes.
Thank you Weber for producing great products. They may be the cheapest in the initial outlay but we do have a 23 year old 22″ kettle BBQ in the garden that has served us very well over the years and is used throughout the summer months for both direct and indirect cooking. I have even done the Christmas turkey in it a few times!
