I love these Webbers. Annoying that I bought the version without the carry handle as that’s make it super portable. Bother!
Great little unit that uses very little fuel. Too small for a large chicken or large piece of meat, but great for a couple of steak or chicke
I have the big version for my garden which is brilliant . Bought this to save me lighting up the big one for when I just bar-b-que for myself. Ideal.
Bought on an Amazon Pime day so price was really good!
This is the best small braai I have ever had. Equally as good as the 47&57 cm. Excellent if your cooking for 3 people!
Just a perfect small bbq, superb quality that won’t be beate
Value for money, sturdy with instructions for best cooking results.
Not used a charcoal bbq for years but wanted a small one I could use for steaks, chicken tikka etc in the caravan. Had a disastrous first attempt (my fault) but subsequently delighted with it. Authentic BIR style chicken tikka on skewers were amazing!
Also bought the small Weber chimney starter to make it easier to get the charcoal going.
This would be a five star except that the cooking grill fits very loosely, so much so that it easily slides so far to one edge that a portion drops into the coals. This happens while flipping food during cooking if you aren’t careful. It also makes it difficult to place the cooking grill after the coals are ready.
It gets a four because everything else is well done and high quality.
I have to say, however, the problem with the cooking grill being insecure could be a deal breaker for a lot of people.
Various family members have used this model for years without issue. The item I received had some small marks on it, and the grill didn’t fit quite as snugly as it should, but overall nothing worth complaining about.
Delivery was fast, overall pretty happy.
We’ve got the Big Daddy of Weber’s and decided that setting it up for 2 is all a bit much, so bought this little one. Definitely worth it. Perfect for two – three people.
It’s a weber and more than just a token mini version, works we’ll lid down. I’d recommend a starter so your up and running with coals up to temp and “offset” cooking gets plenty of airflow through the coals lid on.
Small enough to get most parts in the sink to clean.
Down side: paint chipped during assembly screwing the handle on to the lid with the plastic tool provided.
I bought this for my annual VW show camping trip, unfortunately the trip was cancelled because of Covid. Its still in it’s box and will hopefully make an appearance later this year. After all it is a weber so it’ll be great.
We like everything about this little BBQ,. It is the 2nd Weber which we have, the first is full size for use in the garden, and we are not disappointed with the portable one, it certainly does the job.
What can I say. It was just perfect. I used it on the small round table which we were to eat at. When all cooked it was easy to transport to grass to cool down whilst we ate at table. It was perfect in every way
Stop thinking about it and buy one of these. Just brilliant. Best flavoured bbq food ever.
After 1 year – still love this – leave it out in all weathers without cover so there are a few bits of rust visible now but nothing that’s likely to be structural for a few years.
Just had BBQ in December, probably not last of the year. We’ve been using this for over 2 years – mystified how anyone has issues with this. We’ve used it 12 months of the year with up to four adults and a few kids and never had any issue. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. Haven’t taken it camping yet but I can’t see why it wouldn’t be just as good at travelling.
Great little barbecue enough for 2-3 in ago others will have to wait. But if you’re buying a portable barbecue you shouldn’t expect it to feed the 5000. The colour crimson looks more like brown but hey ho I’m barbecuing….. If its in stock buy it or when the sun shines go inside and use the cooker.
This is my third Smokey Joe I’ve owned. The first now lives with my parents (who use it nonstop all summer) and the second couldn’t make a big move, so was adopted by friends, who almost convinced me that they were doing me a favor. Weber’s strong reputation is deserved.
But seriously, unless you’re bbq-ing for a large family or day-long event, you don’t need a big grille. This little fella is more than up to the task. Current record: 4 hours of non-stop bbq-ing (one bit of additional briquettes at hour 3) and feeding very happy friends.
Good quality, nice color and after many patio meals I can say it was a good purchase. I went with Weber after reading discoloration, missing parts and hard to assemble in reviews on other no-name BBQs.
Amazing service from Buckingham garden centre. Very prompt service with an eye out for possible mistakes in ordering! Had emails and phone call to rectify this. Smokey Joe needs no review except paying for the premium product is money well spent.
I’ve had this little gem for over 4 years now, and it still delivers! Sure, the bolts have rusted, the legs are bent and it needs a good ol clean (what BBQ doesn’t?) but just today it delivered chicken thighs, pork sausages, burgers and skewers cooked to perfection (with a little help from my slingin’ arm of course 😉 Perfect for cooking up a BBQ for 2-4 people, this fantastic product delivers every time! Highly recommended A+++++++++++++++++
I bought this recently but so far it has been a lovely little barbecue – you can see it has been well thought through and designed beautifully for its purpose. I’ve cooked sausages and vegetables and spatchcock chicken and it’s always been surprisingly fast and lovely to use. Really easy to extinguish as well just by closing the vents. I can see how it would be great for camping – I just have a tiny garden so I didn’t want a big barbecue, and it’s much better than a disposable! I would be happy to take this out to the park or to a friend’s house for a barbecue it’s such a good size. For such a small barbecue it cooks a reasonable amount on it (12 sausages, a couple of peppers and room to spare) and cooks so quickly it’s a great find for more people than you might expect.
It is really easy to put together, it only took me about 10 minutes to have a fully functioning barbecue. It’s my first barbecue but it was really easy to use and the little instructions booklet is good. I stood it on a table – the stand doesn’t get hot – and set the coals, it doesn’t take too long to cook on, the air vents in the lid and sides mean that you can put the lid on to keep in the heat while bringing in exactly the right amount of oxygen to keep the coals alight. Once finished just close the holes and it cools down quickly. It is really well made and coated and comes with an ash catcher, you can empty the coals off the tray and then the ash out of the catcher and just wipe it down really easily. The grills need a bit of cleaning as you’d expect but it’s a lot easier than with a big barbecue, you can clean the grills in the sink!
This is a sturdy and practical BBQ we use for caravanning. The only problem with it is one of our own making. We had meant to buy the same as our friends, which has a metal clip that slides over the top of the handle so you can carry it when hot, that folds down to hold the lid in a bit of a wind shield. That is the one we wanted, but we did not know there were 2 models, and this one, the “Original” one, does not have this clip.
So, I gave it 4 only out of annoyance that we picked the wrong model, which may be unfair on the product, because in itself it is fine and works just as we need it to.
The original and possibly the best – you can’t go wrong with one of these. We gave our old one away in a rash moment when we bought a flash gas barby and had to buy another because we missed the taste so much.
I purchased this as a surprise for my other half who loves his bbq’s and as we were about to go camping for the weekend so I thought great, kill two birds with one stone! This is a fantastic little bbq with a deceptively good cooking space available, we cooked 2 large chicken breasts, sausages, peppers etc and it worked a treat. I love this wee bbq and it will be a firm fixture in our future camping trips as an alternative to the camping stove for dinner 😉 I got it from B & Q as they were selling it for 30 (we bought the lovely little spring green one) […]
