Good disc saw for the price. Cuts through wood effortlessly. Best for cutting sheet wood rather than planks etc due to the blade size. Knocked it down a star as the safety button doesn’t always stop the motor when released.
Never used a compact saw before but I recommend this to anyone really easy to use and accurate well made arrived on time and well packaged
Used this saw for a while now. Great tool, very easy to use, great that it uses the worx batteries and can just switch between them.
Very handy tool . found it quite difficult to begin with especially plunge cutting but accept it will get easier with experience. Cutting water ruined areas from a chipboard and ply floor.
This is amazing saw to use I only wish I’d brought is sooner I can fault it 5 Stars
One of my favourite things about the Worksaw is how safe it is to use: no wires to cut accidentally, the blade is covered up virtually all the time – even while in use – and two levers are required to get the blade spinning.
Switching to a diamond tipped blade (switching blades is easy) allowed me to cut through mortar and brick with ease – possibly even easier than cutting wood – and felt a lot safer than using an angle grinder (I can be quite clumsy). The relatively small size (max cutting depth of 27mm) meant only cutting roughly halfway through the brick but I could easily make enough cuts to make the brick break apart when hit with a bolster and hammer.
– Super easy to use
– light and accurate cut
– buy a additional battery as the the one supplied is good but will not last during a long job.
Fantastic quality as usual. Cuts with ease and neat. Should have bought on years ago.
Only grumble would be the storage, need to remove blade to store in original case.
Excellent product, first time I have used a tool like this one, think I will get rid of all my hand saws, this saw can do it all, would recommend anybody who works with wood to get one!!!!
Very lightweight and versatile battery powered circular saw. Uses the standard Worx batteries as supplied with drills etc. Easy to adjust depth of cut and angle. A very handy addition to the toolbox.
I was surprised how good this is, it’s handy to take in the boot when you go to the DIY store to downsize timber or furniture boards to fit in the car.
it’s quite accurate easy to handle and the battery last’s well
I used the saw for cutting large sheets of twinwall plastic. It worked quite well but I would have preferred the guide to be flat on both sides, instead of having projections at either end on the outside surface.
Very easy to use people complain about about the safety catch but it doesn’t bother me I’ve found it very easy to cut a straight line and it uses the same battery’s as my old erbouer drill which were sat about doing nothing so I’ve got 2 extra batterys
Love it, easy to use and setup, you get better with a little practice, not on par with a circular on long cuts but the sheer simplicity of this when doing small (band deep) cuts, it does easily cut through 18mm ply, much to my surprise… I did learn to plunge into the cut for a better start on the cut, but you do you. I highly recommend if you work with wood, I haven’t cut plastic or metal with it yet, so can’t comment on that.
I had a project that required trimming lots of tongue & grove sheets. The compact circular saw performed faultlessly. Unlike my jigsaw, it naturally wants to cut a straight line and is easier to control than a full-size circular saw.
Really great tool, have used everyday since purchased. Used the tile blade for chasing out brickwork and wood blade for panelling (MDF) and putting Ply down (18mm) and it’s been great, however, you MUST buy a bigger battery as the thing will run out of juice really quickly. I would suggest a 4.5.
Great little saw. Easy to handle, I have not felt any kick back as you can get on a regular circular saw. I am very happy with it, ideal for diy use, might be bit weak for tradesman daily use. Was great cutting kitchen cupboard side panels, blade did not tear the finish just left nice smooth cut. Would buy again.
More powerful than you might think, makes short work of cutting through wood (that’s all I have used it for so far). Depth gauge allows accurate cutting of flooring without risk of cutting any pipes/wires under! Well recommended!
I debated hard and long before buying because of what other reviews had said, such as ‘blade gets stuck’ and ‘doesn’t cut through 18mm ply’. However because I had a Worx battery from another tool, I took a risk. I have now used it and it easily cut through 18mm OSB…..no blade sticking for me. Granted I’ve only cut three 18mm OSB and three 11mm OSB, but it went through them like butter. Having a circular saw that doesn’t need a cable AND can be used with one hand is great, I wish I had one years ago. Some reviews mention that it takes time to master the technique of pushing the blade down to start off a cut, which is right, but not hard. I like it.
Great little hand saw. The cordless power provides a nice biting point.
I am no DIYer but this helped me build my own cold frame for the garden.
Great purchase at a good price
I’ve used this saw on a number of projects and found it to be very useful, I have found that you need to make a slower cut than other circular saws I’ve had, if you go to quick the saw blade tends to stop turning
Battery life not the best but good for small jobs and fast charging
This is great to use, is my first tool like this and is easy to use and gives great results. Comes with a few cutting blades for ability to cut different materials.
Battery lasts a good amount of time and charges quickly, also great to have the carry case to store everything.
Also great I can share battery’s with my other woxs tools.
In this not being a full size circular saw but slightly smaller means you have great manoeuvrability which is made even better by being cordless!
It’s really versatile in what jobs it can be used for.
For a first saw tool I’ve found it really easy to use and would recommend.
Powerful little circular saw, so many uses. Could possibly do with a bit more depth of cut but it literally just cuts thru panels like butter with the correct blade in for the job.
Can be a bit long when in a tight space.
Battery life obvs depends on what battery, but no worse than a drill or impact driver.
Great compact saw.
Really really great tool, will cut through anything.
Have been using this now for a couple of home projects and this tool makes light work of cutting wood. The cut edge is really nice and smooth also.
Battery life is good. No complaints!! Will recommend!!!
EDIT; think I spoke too soon. Only this morning, the saw developed a fault (2 weeks after purchase) despite fresh/new batteries, the blade will not spin. LEDworklight flashes when battery connected but no movement from motor. Spinning the motor by hand, with battery off the machine, I could hear and feel that the motor wasn’t engaging properly as if a gear was out of alignment? Tried troubleshooting with Amazon, who were amazing to say the least. They even managed to connect me directly with WORX customer service! Without me ringing them via the live chat facility which I started off with. Anyway, WORX said it needed returning as there was obviously a fault beyond telephone diagnosis. 3 year warranty but first year via Amazon so have returned for a refund. Perhaps I have just been unlucky here. I’m resting my 5 stars for excellent customer service both from Amazon and WORX as they were great. The product itself, whilst it worked was perfect for my needs, perhaps a replacement would fare better.
I was putting down some laminate flooring, and since the power was going to off in the house, i decided to go for one of these as i already had the batteries at home.
I have other mains powered tools that could have done the job if the electricity was on in the house, and i wasnt expecting much from this saw.
Wow i was amazed at how light this is and how easy it was to cut the laminate planks.
Once you get the hang of it, it does save a lot of time, no wires to move out the way and not restricted to be by a power outlet, extension cable.
Very impressed.
Tip, remember to press far enough down as you get started to ensure you get a proper cut at the beginning of the item you are cutting.
I like that the saw stops almost immediately when you release the button, overall safety is very good, the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the saw lacks a laser which would be helpful, but I does have a very bright led light the comes on with a light touch of the button. I’ve used the saw with an edge clamp too and it worked well. As I said I am not a professional, someone who uses the saw on a regular basis may give a more informed review for using in that environment. I am a little hesitant to say how many metres the battery lasts as I haven’t had to charge it yet, oh and it really handy to take to the big box stores and cut lengths of timber to a manageable size to transport home in my car. Just do research to make sure the model you want if a laser is required
Defo recommend this life saver. Great finish of wood cuts and cuts fine cuts where needed. It is accurate and not bad at all as some mentioned. I have even bought a replacement spare blade so a good investment. Thanks for the quick turnaround on both Amazon.
Love Worx as a brand and this does nothing but improve their reputation. The saw is easy to use, light, manoeverable, and will accurately attack any job you throw at it.
Watch out for small splinterschunks if wood fowling the inside of the blade, especially on thinslim cuts, otherwise it’s great…..
Cuts 38mm worktop, MDF, CLS ect with ease. It runs very fast at 6900 rpm so cuts very cleanly.
I haven’t tried cutting tiles or metal pipe yet but I am sure it will work fine.
Remember that any circular saw is only as good as its blade….. currently (28/07/20) Amazon UK dont stock WA5100 replacement blades. However they do have the slightly narrower WORX WA5046 blades which look like they would fit.
Like the others, Its an annoyance that the unit wont fit the case without removing the blade. Also the Hex holder on mine doesn’t hold it very firmly in place, though it hasn’t fallen out yet.
All in all very nice little tool. 4 stars.
Why didn’t I buy one of these earlier? Delivered today and I’ve used it all day, plenty of power to cut though a 38mm work top, hardly any chipping, easy to control and light. Made my day so much easier. I agree with the other review about having to remove the blade so it will fit back in the case, but it only takes a minute.
Plenty of power with a 4amp battery and last a good amount of time, used to cut plenty of 18mm ply and floorboards no to mention a couple of small trees maybe 100mm thick gets through everything just fine, will cut off if you twist it. The tile cutting blade worked great on some 900×900 11mm thick floor tiles small amount of chipping roughly a millimetre whilst cutting as you would expect with a slitted blade. Do like the brushless stuff they are selling also have the brushless impact driver that is awesome, might replace the old worx combi driver with a brushless next.
Exelent light saw, very versatile.
But what lightweight thought it was a good idea to supply a case that requires the blade to be removed every time to allow it to fit back in.
Useful for what I need it for. Do not expect it to cut anything thicker than the blade I have used it to cut thicker wood, IE cut one side then turn it over and cut from other side. But it does struggle with this but remember it is not designed to work like this. I only added this in in case other buyers were toying with the same idea…………….
I already have a Circular Saw and when using that one you put two hands on it to activate the two step safety switches and when you start to cut the blade guard slides up and allows the blade to meet the wood.
This saw works in a different way ….the one hand ( right in my case) operates the two triggers to start the saw but you also need to press in a section and at the same time pull up a hook to release the guard hiding the blade which allows the workpiece to be cut . …and I find that tricky ….Is there a knack to do this
EDIT :I think I have sussed how to deal with holding the saw and pulling up the sole plate at the same time so it should get easier in time …not the best designed feature tho’
I tried it out to cut a piece of laminate and I was using the parallel guide and the guide height means the laminate can fit in the gap so thats no good for thin wood unless I can adapt the guide ….possibly by glueing on another piece of wood or plastic .
I was also going to say that somewhere to “park” the Allen Key would be useful but it might sit to one side of the sole plate .
Otherwise I have no complaints but time will tell
I know it was a Christmas present from my better half but the power of TV advertising Worx for me in this instance as I saw it on Amazon at the lowest UK price and as it was in and out of stock quickly I grabbed at the chance of getting the order in.
Having tested it and found it to be quiet and smooth to operate with a nice travel case, I feel it is a great little product that I am sure I will make good use of it when the weather improves.
