Bought to secure expensive jewellery and important documents, car keys etc. Wanted an insurance approved one just because it offers better attack resistance. Bolted into brick work as this is most secure method. Bonus you could pay monthly.
Having purchased this item and seeing confused questions about the measurements, I decided I will put this right. The Yale YSB/250/EB1 Premium Home Safe measurements in the description looks to measure the door space as the internal space.
The measurement shown in the product description is the internal space, and the figures are correct for the internal dimension. The indication that looks like the door space is the internal dimensions is the misleading part. The door space is 17.5 cm by 28.5 cm, or 175mm by 285mm. In short, the internal dimensions are larger than the door opening.
The keys provided are proper strong security keys which is expected being that it is insurance approved, and the instructions are easy to follow so that you can set your own keypad code. The product itself is sturdy and strong. Looks to be of excellent quality and should last many years. Fixings are provided to fix to the wall or to the floor whichever is required, and the fixings are of good quality too.
This product was purchased to go into my off-road 4×4 motor home to secure personal documents, money and valuables.
17 inch laptop can fit just if you twist it so that one side touches the bottom left and the other side at the hinge slides through the gap. Ample room once you get it past the door. If just a little bit more thought had gone into the design and an additional 10mm and it would have been perfect without making it any bigger.
The 17inch laptop is 42cm wide and 32mm high.
However this is not the reason for purchase. The primary reason is to store my work laptop and paperwork. The work laptop is 38cm so fits nicely through the door.
Bit fiddly to setup the key codes initially. Once setup easy to unlock and lock.
The door fits snuggly and there is very little gap around the door. Bolts and hinge look substantial. Steel is about 4mm thick.
This is a safe… it does not provide any fire or water protection…
Recently upgraded our safe to a larger one. Very pleased with quality, cost and ease of use.
Very good safe. Meets my need. Easily fitted into the wall. Easy to set up the password and really like the overriding keys in emergency.
all fits well togther east install nice easy process to set the number lock, spare key just in case. exactly wat you need in a ssafe A*****
Basic safe. Not easy to use pre-drilled fixings.
Instructions could be clearer and more detailed.
Safe is fine, a prepped burglar with an angle grindr would break in easy….. but for the average opportunist burglar it’s enough to put them

Only complaint is the box clearly says 10k cash 1k item…. I can’t imagine an insurance company demanding summit over 1k requires a safe so who really cares but still the description should be changed (or the box if it is wrong)
Great safe, but a serious la k of instructions, I had to go onto the internet to find out how to use it/ change the code. Otherwise it is well made and works as it should
This is good value for the money, an very easy to set up and use.
Bought this as a replacement and have found it to be exceptionally well made and included a middle shelf, which is a big improvement on our previous safe. Easy to use and a good internal size.
Safe is an excellent product although installation is not easy.
Item was package in the box with visible picture what is inside and that it was supposed to be a gift and everybody know what it is when courier give tha
We love this safe as it is robust although small enough not to take up too much room in a cupboard. The safe is strong, easy to use and excellent value for money. I would not hesitate to buy again and from this supplier.
Installed this at home, works great, the only downside I would say is that the door is hung to swing out when unlocked which is great but when you are trying to lock it you have to hold it in place.
This safe is a good size, easy to get laptops in. Comes with bolts etc and spare keys should you forget the combination.
Only downside is the price
Don’t let this put you off buying though I have the standard home safe from this product line which is also good.
The Yale laptop safe was very easy to set up and mount to a wall and everything needed was in the box, the only small gripe is the size, a 15″ laptop fits perfectly but my 17″ has to be placed in diagonally and as the safe is made of steel I have had to place duct tape around the opening to stop scratching the laptop. The box did say “UP TO 15″ LAPTOPS” but this was not on the Amazon description.

It easily keeps my laptop, iPad and other items with space left over and it’s easy to use
Keep in mind it’s not a bank vault but for laptops and similar items this is perfect for storing them in
The instructions are a bit confusing for the initial setup but the information is there just follow it and its easy once its done
Also comes with 2 over ride keys in case you forget 4 digits 😀
Great quality from Yale as usual and I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a laptop safe
I had read several reviews of this product and most were positive. The one criticism was in fitting the safe to a secure position. I had no such difficulties and was able to secure the safe in the chosen place with ease. The safe interior is very spacious. For example, it will hold two laptop computers, a large bridge camera, a video camera, a sat nav (in a large case with all its fittings) and several other smaller items. The security method of up to eight digits is easy to program and use. We also have the security of a mechanical key in case of battery failure. All in all, we are pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone should wants a roomy, secure home storage facility
It is perfect for home use but is not fireproof or waterproof. I think it is a great piece of kit and recommend you to buy it.
Also good for keeping more sensitive documents and spare keys locked away.
Problem with the delivery but that’s a different matter, the Safe itself is better than expected,good quality with set up instructions easy and clear to follow ” some reviews indicate not very clear but maybe have been updated” would strongly recommend, you could buy this safe with confidence every bit as good as my last one from a different manufacturer costing a good 50% more. Very happy good solid construction well made with a good solid feel that oozes confidence.
Easy to install and use but the instructions were actually incorrect and incomplete. I had to search for other instructions on line before I could lock the safe with the code. If you unlock the safe with the key, the software insists that you lock it with the key… and viceversa with the code, if you unlock it with the code you have to lock it back up with the code. But the instructions were incorrect as to how to lock it with the code so I got to state where I had unlocked it but couldn’t lock it back up. Most annoying, especially as we had already installed it by this point. We thought we had a duff product. However with the correct instructions from the internet it works as expected and have had no problems. If the incorrect code is entered three times, then a small alarm goes off which was a bonus feature that we hadn’t realised about when we purchased it. Delivery was prompt. We’ve only had the product a couple of months but are happy with it.
It is easy to setup, comes with two keys and the bolting kit for floor or wall (despite the instructions focussing on floor mounting).
It comforably holds a ‘normal’ laptop and has space for other items as well.
