El tamao y peso de las fichas es perfecto y la calidad general del producto est muy bien. Eso s tengo que destacar que una ficha me vino marcada en el reverso haciendola fcilmente identificable lo que es fatal para este tipo de juegos. Estuve a punto de devolverlo pero al coincidir que es de flores y no juego con esas fichas opt por no hacerlo pero s quera dejar constancia
The tiles are smaller than standard size. They do not seem to be as heavy as traditional tiles. I should have paid more attention to the pictures before purchasing. The spare tiles are marked up.
My mom wanted to get back into Mahjong so she got this. She loves it, very cool stuff

If you like smaller mahjong tiles, these are great. Only downside is that the carrying case didn’t have ‘pans’ to hold the tiles to make it easy for taking them out afterwards. Those who play mahjong know what I mean. Four tile holders to hold the tiles inside the carrying case.

They were very well made. Looks nice and durable. Moreover, they feel good and the carvings were deep enough that you can ‘read’ some of them with your thumb. The only negative is the plastic case is a little cheaply made. Btw, I ordered the yellow set but received a green one, and ended up liking it even better!
Obviously the case fell apart but nothing can’t be fixed with tape. Size is perfect for smaller tables.

We ordered another set for a relative. Arrived prior to the notified delivery date. Was packed well and in excellent condition. Tiles easy to read, all parts included. Sturdy case. Instructions including scoring description noted. Would not hesitate to purchase again if needed.
NOTE: our last set had just one blank tile – I emailed the company and they immediately sent out another blank tile.
Just feel right when I touch it. Right size and smooth feeling. Right weight too. Thickness is right too: each to stand up. It’s fun to use it. It’s good for family or freinds together. Highly recommend for frequent playing.
Tiles feel nice and weighted. The characters are clear and consistent. The yellow is a nice hue (I was originally worried that it was going to be too bright). The set came with everything you need to get started! Also appreciated the instruction booklet that came with it – I forgot some of the rules as it’s been years since I last played. Happy with my purchase!
This item is great for the price. The pieces feel good and are a great size. Only thing which I prefer is if the “one” line / dash tile were not a “chicken” (or whatever that bird is) symbol instead. I am used to simply seeing a one dash tile. Other than that, excellent set.
very nice set, good quality. although there meant to be a spinning indicator as per rules in the box and there is not, just a cube in box with tiny hole which the rules do not talk about, i guess you just throw it to choose as you would with normal playing dice. It looks like the spinning indicator , but you cannot spin it due to the shape.also the rule book is only very basic, which is shame. why not to include proper rule book?
overall is nice game. you can find proper rules on line easy, spinning indicator can be played as dice and the rest is fab.
Bought as a gift for my grand daughter who wanted to learn mah jong after seeing CRAZY RICH ASIANS. She is very pleased with my choice. Not at all cheaply made…heavy.
I love my majong set. We will bring this with us when we go to Calgary in September. I love the thickness and the weight. It also fits well in the bag. Can’t complain.
The tiles in this set are very beautiful. They are very clear in their designs and have a wonderful shine to them. The dice feel a bit cheap, as does the wind indicator, but for the price I paid, I’m not going to complain. The case has a lovely design on it and is a wonderful color. I have heard some complaints about the handle, so I have been careful when carrying it. I can see what others are warning about, as the handle does feel somewhat flimsy. Overall though, very much worth the price in my opinion.
We’ve been looking for a majhong set for a while and decided to give this one a try. I’m glad we did as the kids love it the. The mahjong tiles feel like good quality and have a good weight to each tile. I somehow remember myself set being a little heavier but these one seem just right. The case for the set does the job but time will tell how sturdy it will actually be. All in all a good purchase. Thanks.
These are beautiful tiles. High quality, beautiful colors, smooth and comfortable in the hand. Not too heavy but a nice solid feel. The case does the job for at home storage but I’m not sure it would hold up to a lot of transit. But the tiles are very lovely, durable and high quality.
The colors and paint job are nicely done, and so far, no scratched pieces. Always wanted to buy a set and now that I can play, I’m happy with the results. I highly recommend!!
I wanted to learn how to play Mahjong, and wanted to buy a set. I didn’t want to spend a lot, but also wanted a set to felt real and didn’t feel cheap. This was a really beautiful set and I played Mahjong a couple of times since buying it.
I’m just getting into Mahjong and wanted to buy a decent set, but didn’t want to break the bank. This set is nice and comes complete with a carrying case. It is a tad heavy, but that is the nature of Mahjong tiles. I am excited to play with this set from Yellow Mountain Imports!
The tiles in this set are great quality. Love it. My only problem was the poor quality wind dial, which was pretty cheaply made and fell apart. Otherwise pretty happy with my purchase.
Some of the symbols are different then the Mahjong that I play on my iPad but with the booklet it is very easy to pick up the differences and learn the changes quickly. The tiles themselves are of fine quality and very heavy duty. The case makes it compact enough to travel with so that my family can play it while on vacation. All in all very are very satisfied with the product.
I purchased this set because I am not very happy with the set I have owned / used for the past 10 years. I was looking for a set that has meticulous craftsmanship, and I am not disappointed at all. The colors are carefully applied to the pieces, with a crisp and beautiful look on every tile.The yellow background is not very common (to me), but it certainly matches my green felt playing top extremely well. The pieces are solid and the right size, so my fingers are just happy. Looks like I am going to enjoy it for the next 10 years if not longer.
A great set, bought as a beginner to hopefully get into it. Don’t quite understand the main game yet but still great fun for solitaire (even made a competitive multiplayer version where people try to get as many pairs as possible, very fun)
We have only played this game once with my girlfriends parents and decided to buy a set for ourselves. The quality is great, albeit a little smaller than her parent’s set, and one set of the tiles is not as number defined as the others but looking at the photos show them exactly what to expect and was an oversight on my part. Yellow Mountain Imports was a pleasure to work with and we got exactly what we wanted.
his is a highly durable and professional set. the peices are very strong and the detail is wonderful. The low rating is because i am still learning how to play, so at the moment, it is not that fun. definitley reccomend this game for those who know how to play or community centers where it will be played everyday, it can handle it.
I drop a point for the tile set’s durability due to the vinyl case. Though it has button snaps and a handle for carrying with one hand, I still recommend moving this set with two.
As prior reviewer Tina Cheng states, there are no individual trays to place tiles for storage. So a little more time is required to store the tiles in the case.
Though optional, I recommend having 4 blank spares instead of 2 for those who prefer to play the blank tiles without the rectangular frames, akin to older sets.
I’ve had sets with blue inks instead of black (for winds, myriads, and framed blanks). Though I can play with either blue and/or black inks, IMHO the black looks more professional.
Overall, this set will do the job for mainline rule sets that utilize 136 or all 144 tiles. For those who use red-5 tiles for riichi, paint three tiles instead of investing in another set.
This is my being picky here, so this won’t affect my rating the product. I like how the orchid tile has the traditional han instead of the simplified. However, the western numbers for the 8 bonus tiles should instead be han. IMO it looks more authentic that way.
