It’s expensive for a wooden box with some vinyl on it, but it’s sturdy and does the job. I use it 3 times a week.
Obwohl diese plyobox mit 12,14,16 inch
die kleinste der Reihe ist lassen sich sehr gut Sprnge und Landungen trainieren. Die Box steht stabil und die weiche Verkleidung der Holzbox ist sehr angenehm.
Very sturdy. Has three different heights you can switch for the box. There is a nice padding so you can easily use it for incline push ups and triceps dips, but with the wooden core still very firm when you are doing step ups. There is not too much give and would be very good to do box jumps.
For reference I am 5’5 and have a very short torso. I place the box at the 12″ height and it is perfect for me.
I do have to use a towel as it is not quite padded enough to use in this manner, but it doesn’t bother me at all, it is a plyo box anyways.
I have also used it for box squats, and intend to use it for step ups as well,
The size I purchased is quite small, so I don’t think I would ever attempt to use is for box jumps.
Seems to be of sturdy construction and haven’t heard any cracking noises. Would absolutely recommend for a home gym. It’s been a great addition for me.
Being using it for a while. I put it against the wall and my son has also been jump on it and treating it like a chair.
I also have the balancing board (circular shape) from the same company. Good as well
Love using the box ,handles my 200 lb frame easily. My invoice said I got the 20x16x12 but I received the 16x14x12, I sent numerous emails asking what does the improved version of the box entail. All I got was a computerated message asking for my order number and when I purchased the box.updated review
they are sending my larger pylo box with the improved version. I am happy to get this resolved. I have many of their products, kettle bells, slam ball, dumbbells, quality equipment for good value.
Great budget option. The quality isn’t quite as high as other name brands but it’s pretty reasonable.
Note – that it’s not super soft and time will tell if it lasts (the cushion/cover that is). Quality of box overall seems to be good and a big improvement over a foam core box.
Recommend but understand there’s better quality out there if you wish to spend the money. Does the job well in my home gym setup though.
As described. Quality product for jumps. Can change height for different challenges
I tried looking locally for a plyo box but they were outrageously priced. This one does exactly what I need it to. It endures jumps almost daily and never shifts on the garage floor.
Overall this plyo box was a great buy! It has a very strong outer shell with foam underneath. I ordered the largest one and its heavy. Slides on floor easy though.
Glad I got this model and not the weaker foam model or one of the bare wood ones. Both the sturdyness and softness is what make this box a hit.
Note, the largest model probably isn’t very good for box squats, not deep enough. 16″ is perfect for me (6’1″ M).
This box is built to withstand the power moves it was made for. Solid box, just has no padding but the cover is enough to protect from injuries you would get from a metal plyo box.
This is a great product. Assembly not required. Very strong, sturdy, not rolly. Feels very safe when doing box jumps and step ups. The soft shell is good on my laminate floors. Love that there’s different heights for improvement and different excersizes.
I absolutely loved this. It is very sturdy, it feels like one piece. It must be the wood base frame. When I opened it, it was a soft cushion all around. It weighs about 20-25 lbs so it can be easily moved around. Recommend
It was perfect what what I wanted it to do – beginner box jumps, a small box to sit on or prop my leg up for stretches etc. Also doubles as a foot rest for my couch. I’m 4′ 11″ and 99 lbs for reference. If you are much bigger this will not be the right box for you.
The wooden core version soft these plyo boxes are outstanding. When doing plyo, you really want something that gives a solid landing surface and won’t budge. Durability and build quality also matter. The wooden core ploy boxes fit the bill. They are very strong and stable while still being comfortable either with shoes or barefoot or other hands, sitting and so on. The quality is on par with high-end gyms I’ve visited. It’s good to know before the jump that you aren’t going to take a tumble because the box is unstable or too light. The extra weight provides much more control. The cushioning is still good enough if you fall short of a complete landing. You risk greater injury both with wood boxes and with lighter, cushioned foam boxes that are more likely to move in erratic ways. Prop these boxes against a wall and you’re set. As always, add a bit of extra care depending on the size of the box – more control needed for smaller boxes and orientations, and more confidence you can actually make the height for larger boxes and orientations. These also are excellent for combination plyo series using multiple boxes. Hint – it’s better to go from smaller to bigger if you are moving directly from box to box rather than landing at a midpoint on the floor between the boxes. You do have to be willing to carry these around to move them, but it’s a workout, and worth the extra effort. Better to spend the money on high quality rather than adding risk of a visit to the emergency room, IMO. I’d give it six stars on a five star scale if I could.
The wood core plyo box is very sturdy and doesn’t rock or move around when doing box jumps. It has a nice weight to it which greatly improves the stability. The flipside to that is moving it around takes a bit more effort; tradeoffs. However, remember the point of excercise is to put in work. So really it’s a bonus and it’s not overly heavy either way. You can also just roll it end over end to wherever you want if you find it difficult to pick up. The cover seems durable and has a slight texture for traction. The firm 1″ foam padding provides a nice layer of protection for your shins. It especially inspires confindence at the 30″ height. You are not as worried about the outcome of a miss which allows you to focus on the excercise itself. The box feels nice and firm under foot when landing on it with just enough give to cushion impact. I have used mine multiple times before writing this review and am very happy with it. It’s been a great addition to my home gym. As an added bonus my kids like climbing on it and I don’t have to worry about them getting banged up since it’s padded and doesn’t tip over.
So far this plyo box while not the largest seems to be sturdy and not much different from the “big names” you see at the gym. I’m confused as to why people are having issues with theirs. Please seek assistance from a Personal trainer for guidance on box jumps, etc. a sim a large individual and have no issues with this box when used properly aside from the inherent risked with box jumps. Going to purchase a larger one as I bought this size as interim equipment till I moved my home gym to the garage.
Will update later If we have any issues
Great jump box sturdier than anticipated. The only down sized is the highest jump comes with a possible shift you won’t get from wood or metal but I still love my jump box. Definitely don’t regret adding it to my gym
I am training for some long backpacking trips that will include plenty of climbing. My trainer suggested stairs or step ups, but I lived in flat flat Florida at the time. This box was a game changer! Super durable, non-slip, and 3 heights to choose from. I am confident enough in the sturdiness to use even when I have a 20 lb backpack on. Love! Recommend!
I used this today for strength training. I did jump squats, split squats, hip thrusts, inclined push ups, step ups, crunches. Lol you name it. With or without weight, it held up pretty well. I never felt like I was going to fall. My boyfriend also used it but he’s a lot taller so it wasn’t as easy for him. I think this would work well for anyone smaller in stature that finds a traditional bench too tall.
My only complaint is this is very light. I felt stable, but in some of my heavier sets (using upwards of 20 lbs), I really had to be sure to equalize my weight or I was going to tip over. The box never gave me the impression it would. But I was very aware of the fact that it slips a bit under heavy movements. So I’d really be sure you’re using this on a mat, or against a wall. If it were heavier, it would be perfect.
This is now the second product I have purchased from Yes4All and both have enhanced the joy of my gym sessions. Their weighted bar and 3 sided plyo box, both padded for comfort, are multifunctional and take up little space. The design of the box is particularly intelligent, allowing you to use the different heights for various exercises or as you progress. The padding is the ideal thickness, not too thick to prevent a solid foot plant but just thick enough to allow me to use it as an improvised bench.
Cons: It’s heavy (around 50 pounds)
It’s very well planted, the surface is soft and its very sturdy. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is very heavy (around 50 lb). Other than that it’s pretty much perfect. It might not be good for some people who will move this box a lot because of its weight. If that’s not an issue, then this plyo box is pretty much perfect.
Update: I just got the balance form plyo box as well. I don’t think the balancefrom Plyobox is as good as the Yes4All plyobox. The Yes4ALl has a much better cover, It seems to be a lot more higher quality. I jumped on the balance form plyo box and there is a bit of a compression or “crunch” when you land on it. Whereas the Yes4All is completely sturdy. I’m still trying to figure out which one to keep, I like the fact that the BalanceFrom is a lot lighter, but I don’t feel as secure jumping on the Balancefrom box as much as I do jumping on the Yes4All plyo box.
Bottom line: if you have a studio, or a home gym, or if you’re not moving this plyo box around a lot the Yes4ALl is much better in my opinion. If you’re going to put the boxes away after every workout the Balancefrom is definitely much lighter, but not as sturdy. Yes4All is a much higher quality plyo box.
