Runs 2 sizes small, but it is a good piece of kit, resistant, lightweight and waterproof. I wear 38 and had to get size 40 but it is still snug.
Was actually going to return this as it felt a tad bit big. I however missed the deadline to return the item due to work. Came across the trousers buried in my wardrobe and used it at work yesterday. It was perfect and fit ideally for work. Glad I still have it.
I own several pairs of these trousers. They are very comfortable, loads of practical pockets and good value. Highly recommend
Very comfortable, very practical and perfect fit, however I deducted a star because for the price I paid for them I didn’t expect the popper to break as soon as I got in the van, but otherwise like the rest of the 5.11 range it’s perfec
Comfortable and well worth the money. Have been wearing these now for work overseas for 10 years and still not disappointed.
I purchased three pairs of these 15 months ago, and have worn them in ‘wear and wash’ rotation every single day since. They are extremely comfortable, they wash well and are very tough. They are made to last. My one slight issue is that the pocket lining material isn’t as tough as the rest of the trousers and carrying keys or loose change will wear them out after some time. Other than that, they are perfect. I will definitely be getting more.
Great fit and feel. Look good. Just wish i’d found these before! Will buy again.
Ideal for dog walking, DIY, hiking etc etc
Way better than the rubbish combats I was given at work, plenty of pockets and very comfortable. My only gripe is that they’re a bit baggier than I’d have liked. They hold up well in the outdoors too and have plenty of room for all your gear. The back pockets will comfortably fit a radio , I can fit a torch and my Spyderco in the knife pocket and a leatherman in the mobile phone pocket. Great overall
Good reliable trouser. Always find the crotch a bit low, other than that nice fit and good quality.
I used not to buy any 511 tactical trousers because they were heavy in weight. However, I changed my mind after buying the Tactile pants. It is light and very durable. It has many pockets and one of which can fit in your mobile phone. I had no problem of while bending or stretching my legs. It is one of the best I have every bought.
There was a size good for me, 32 x 30 and once arrived they are good tough materials. My only qualms are the velcro back pockets and elasticated waistband which are unnecessarily infantile.
5.11 40/30 trousers arrived today.
I normally take 40 waist 31 leg.
Well worth reading the reviews here as I ordered 40 waist 30 leg and the fit for both waist and leg is perfect.
So, they do run long in my experience.
I will be ordering another pair…
I am 6′ 2″ and these are a very comortable pants. just a tad on the large size for me at 36W 34L but i don’t mind that too much.
Light weight so good in hot weather. Rip stop and fast drying.
Smart enough to wear out shopping and resilient enough to use outdoors or operationally.
Lots of useful pockets and very durable.
You can add draw strings around the bottom of the legs by threading string through the pre made holes there.
The weird webbing strap at the back pocket is actually surprisingly useful for hanging things off.
Due to a mix up with stock levels, the advertised trousers were not available in my size. I received an email within an hour from the seller to advise. I was offered a full refund or an upgrade to the stryke pants. I took the upgrade and I’m so happy I did. Brilliant customer services and I’m really happy with the stryke pants. They fit a little large, I’m normally around a 33 inch and ordered 34. Having said that they are so comfortable and exactly what I needed for work. Thanks again Polmil.
Good quality trousers. A little disappointed with the push stud fastener but just ’cause I don’t like them, so just be aware that it has a push stud, not a normal button.
Great piece of kit. Very good quality. Plenty of pockets for all your bits and pieces. The sizes are spot on (rare these days)
A very durable material, not sure what it is exactly, but easy to keep clean and wipe down. Perfect for work, play, or just walking the dog.
I work in the water utility’s industry construction/repair, these trousers are great they don’t hold water it runs off them, dried mud just brushes with a palm, secure pockets for car or digger keys and phone and easy to climb ladders etc lots of ball room. This winter I have put thin cotton pagama bottoms on underneath, I have never been so comfortable warm and dry.
very good pants, so I bought more
update: I’ve used these now almost 2 months, travelling, camping, city, it seems that dirt (coffee and so on) washes out easily. I spilled coffee to trousers and it was easy to clean with paper. 100% cotton, not ripstop as Pro-pants are but these are good in hot weathe
Sturdy, strong, loose fitting and plenty of pockets. These are very comfortable trousers for every day wear and the pockets are in the right places. I simply can’t fault them – I bought one pair to try them out and I intend to buy more pairs in different colours.
The material is neat and tidy yet hard wearing. They can be worn to work or if you’re just out for the day. I’m very pleased with my purchase and will definitely buy again.
I’ve had taclite pro for years as I work in the Private Security business.. This new design is even better than before.. There are enough pockets without going over the top.. The durability is second to non and very light weight.. The size did come up a little bigger than I’d have liked I’ve had 42″ waist and leg before for just a little added movement in them and found the seat was a little bigger than I expected so order to exact size specs.. I’ll definitely be buying these again.. Very smart durable and suits my every need for a good all round year trouser.. Ideal for hot environments.
Fantastic thing! Very light, good looking, made to last. Didn’t expected to be waterproof or hydrophobic or i do not know what else it is. I brought those pants to walk around ate seashore while taking photos and was constantly splashed with water. All water just fell off after forming in to small drops. In my opinion it is totally worth every penny.
I brought my first pair of 5.11 pants back in 2010, when I was working in Iraq. I wore them for my work as a generator mechanic and they never let me down once. I still have that first pair and they still look as good as when I first brought them, although the teflon coating has worn away with all the washing that they received. Excellent product and i would strongly recommend them.
I bought these to wear while competing in dynamic shooting competitions e.g. we run around, kneel and grovel about in the dirt a lot!
They are comfortable well priced at 10 less than list, which pays for my seamstress to turn up the legs.
They wash well and have a ton of pockets and will be hard wearing no doubt.
I liked them so much I bought two pairs both delivered within a couple of days with free postage.
I’ve lost count of the number of 5.11 trousers I have bought. I’ve been buying them since the 1980’s when they were known as Royal Robbins. In fact I still have a couple of “survivors” from the old days. The new polly-cotton blend we have now is far lighter and much more practical than the old 100% cotton. It is easy-care! Great for travel since it is easy to hand-wash and dries far quicker than cotton. I’ve been using 5.11 clothing for about 3 decades now and I am impressed by the standard of quality. I highly recommend this product to anyone leading an outdoor or “nomadic lifestyle”.
I use to buy the old 5.11 cotton canvas trousers at one time. I’ve now switched to the taclites, and I have certainly not regretted my decision. These taclites have the advantage of being “easy care” and of also being a lot lighter than the pure cotton ones. They are fade resistant, don’t need ironing (if hung up properly), and dry a lot quicker than the cotton ones. They are ideal for the outdoors and for “rough travel”. I shall certainly be buying more of these taclites in the future. However, a word of warning: If you are doing “controlled burnings” (bonfires), like I often do _ ALWAYS WEAR COTTON (much safer!)
“Taclites 5.11” are ideal “rough travel” and “action” trousers. They are “easy-care”: stain, resistant, fade resistant, dry out quickly, don’t need ironing and to some extent “shower proof”. They are ideal for the outdoors. You have plenty of deep pockets to keep your essential items at hand. The elasticized waist is very comfortable and doesn’t cut into your belly like some trousers. The gusseted crotch allows you to squat and crouch in comfort _ which is important for C.Q.C. activities and camping! The only drawback: you cant stand too close to the camp-fire without getting your legs cooked. For “bonfire nights” I would stick to cotton. For the tropics, I would also recommend cotton.
Well worth buying!
