The lock boasts a 16mm thick locking bolt made of hardened steel. Antifurto robusto, di ottima fattura, ma purtroppo non compatibile con il disco freno anteriore della mia Suzuki Marauder 250. Il disco non ha fori nella zona frenante e poi diventa conico, impedendo la chiusura.
Ottimo blocca disco, appena arrivato a casa ho subito notato la qualit costruttiva. L’ho comprato con qualche dubbio visto che qualche recensione ne criticava la difficolt di montaggio sul disco visto il poco tempo a disposizione per evitare che il blocca disco stesso suoni. A parer mio il tempo adeguato al montaggio senza problemi sulla moto. Per quanto riguarda il volume dell’allarme posso dire che perfettamente uguagliabile ad un classico antifurto di serie per moto di cui ne sono in possesso
Non ho avuto modo di provarne altri modelli perch, ho goduto dell’esperienza di altri amici motociclisti, fatta eccezione per un modello vecchio che avevo empo fa, molto pi spartano di questo.
A primo impatto devo dire che sembra resistentissimo, pesantissimo e fatto meglio di altri meno costosi (ma della stessa fascia), che ho visionato su Amazon. Per ora usato e provato solo in un paio di circostanze. Molto sensibile agli urti, facile da aprire senza che suoni l’allarme e ottimo anche il coperchio che protegge il nottolino della chiave rendendolo anche a scomparsa.
Arrivato con 2 chiavi e il codice per rifarla in caso di smarrimento e in un astuccio con zip ma, che avrei preferito avesse avuto un interno imbottito. La sirena dell’antifurto udibile ma non fortissima avevo letto 100 db ma a sentirla suonare, non mi sembra cos fotte.
Per il prezzo pagato, comunque sarebbe stata molto gradita una staffa, come altri modelli suoi concorrenti, per poterla fissare alla pedalina passeggero. Do solo 4 stelle per quest’ultima nota, a mio avviso negativa, che non irrilevante in un bloccadisco antifurto, ok la resistenza meccanica ma l’acustica pi forte, attira l’attenzione di pi gente, a pi distanza.
Oggetto massiccio e deterrente unico.
Bisogna essere veloci nel chiudere e aprire altrimenti suona subito.
Prodotto eccezionale, ha soddisfatto le mie aspettative.

Prodotto MOLTO robusto rispetto ad altri similari, efficace, basta quasi sfiorarlo ed entra in azione l’allarme.

Comprato dopo averne preso e restituito un altro sempre su Amazon. Il predecessore, con le medesime funzioni, alla prima pioggia presa ha iniziato a ronzare follemente. Questo modello si fin’ora mostrato robusto e affidabile, con un allarme tutto sommato sufficiente.
Unica nota per cui non do 5 stelle di tanto in tanto lo sblocco non riesce proprio super agevole e se si impiega un secondo di troppo scatta ovviamente l’allarme, creando un breve momento di fastidio acustico. Prover con del wd40 per verificare non si tratti di un leggero inceppamento meccanico
Il bloccadisco molto solido e robusto ed anche bello da vedere: decisamente un bell’oggetto.

Il bloccadisco un macigno, molto robusto e ben fatto, tipica qualit abus.
Unici lati negativi: la sirena nn cos potente come ci si aspetterebbe ma soprattutto si hanno solo 4 sec per aprirlo senza farla scattare, ed poco.

Pesantissimo, un prodotto molto molto robusto.
Sicuramente costoso ma vale ogni euro speso.
Massiccio in tutte le sue componenti.
L’allarme molto molto sensibile e dovete essre veloci a metterlo e togliere la chiave (unico neo di questo prodotto) altrimenti andr in allarme ancor prima di averlo chiuso ma con un p di pratica diventa molto semplice. Sicuramente faranno prima a caricare la moto in un furgone che cercare di taglaire questo bloccadisco.
A very solid disc lock. Value for money is debatable, but if it stops your bike getting taken then a bonus.
Just want to say that this DOES NOT fit the front disc of a YBR 125. Being slightly creative, I am using it on the rear drive cog instead (as I’ve arrowed in the image) which has ample sized holes. It does make the lock rather greasy but at least it fits. On the plus side I think it also makes it harder to get at for attack.
None of the disc lock alarms have impressed me, inlcuding this one. The best I can say is that it makes a noise. It does have it’s moments during fitting when it decides to go off for some unknown reason, but removing the lock and putting it back on again cancels it.
Note: This doesn’t come with an orange stretchy thing to clip on the handlebars which is rather poor considering the price of the lock, so if you want that visual reminder then remember to buy that in addition to the lock.
Bought this to replace an old Oxford Screamer. No comparison. This just feels better built, looks more robust and gives greater piece of mind. Fits neatly under the seat of my Street Triple RS and comes with a protective pouch. Sold secure. Slightly fiddly and sensitive when fitting but there is a method. Already looking at more Abus products.
You have to be quick to install and remove the key before it arms, otherwise the alarm will sound while you’re still moving it. There could have been a longer delay. Otherwise a lovely, sturdy lock, but expensive.
E’ vero che l’allarme non fortissimo (alimentato da una batteria a bottone, cosa si pretende?) ma se si nelle vicinanze o in zona silenziosa lo si sente.
Come sensibilit dell’allarme, io non ho rilevato problemi.
Il grosso problema di questo prodotto il tempo ridicolmente ed inutilmente breve tra quando lo si inserisce sul disco a quando scatta l’allarme: possibile farlo, ma serve moltissima pratica e manualit per riuscirci senza far scattare la sirena. Prodotti della concorrenza hanno un pulsante dedicato per l’inserimento della sirena. Comunque un tempo pi umano di 15 secondi non avrebbe di certo compromesso la sicurezza del prodotto. I 4 secondi previsti sono demenziali: in quel tempo bisogna: inserire il bloccadisco, fare un giro e mezzo della chiave (cosa che quindi non si riesce a fare senza staccare la mano), estrarre la chiave e ruotare la ghiera di protezione della serratura…
L’ho acquistato assieme alla catena Abus 56560 ma, acquistando su Amazon, non sono riuscito a trovare il modo di avere un’unica chiave… peccato! sarebbe stato molto molto comodo, ma immagino si possa solo acquistando direttamente dal produttore.
Qualcuno si (forse anche giustamente) lamentato del fatto che per estrarre la batteria sufficiente un cacciavite per va detto che, se l’allarme inserito, impossibile estrarre la batteria senza far scattare la sirena.
Comunque mi sembra che la sicurezza del prodotto sia elevatissima.
Solid build from abus , heavy disclock . A very good quality ,but it alarm really quick so you need to be fast to remove it .
If this fits your disc and you’re willing to replace the battery replacement screw with a security screw so this can’t be disarmed with a screwdriver, I’d say out of all the alarm disc locks this wins my vote for best choice of strength/loud alarm/anti picking.
Ultimately, the lock didn’t fit my disc. I have a 63mm floating disc with no big holes to lock through, the internal available space in the slot is approx 59mm (mechanical vernier) so it’s incompatible.
The only reason this is an issue is because the advert on Amazon is lacking any substantial information so I had to try to find out.
Pros:
Robust as it gets, only a grinder will break this.
Loud siren, not deafening at 1m but very unpleasant, satisfied it will be loud enough, unlike the Oxford boss alarm padlock.
Built extremely well, not likely to fall apart like their 8077.
I haven’t found arming time to be an issue like some other reviews. Depends on your speed I guess.

I have the previous version of this lock. Decided to add another one just to make it more challenging for thieves to steal the motorbike. They’ll certainly have a hard breaking, not one, two locks!
Very heavy robust lock that hopefully will cause headaches to thieves. One annoyance though is the alarm arm time, it’s not long enough to get your reminder cable in and lock it before it arms but that said it feels strong as hell.
Not used it yet but it’s a solid looking quality lock

Penso che non esistano bloccadischi pi efficaci di questo. Sulle recensioni in Amazon UK un utente ha condiviso la sua esperienza con questo 8008: i ladri hanno cercato di segare direttamente il disco del motociclo e non hanno nemmeno provato a forzare l’ABUS, che evidentemente estremamente resistente.
Del resto a differenza di molti altri prodotti sul mercato, l’8008 molto stretto e non lascia spazio ad attrezzi/seghe per forzare direttamente il perno (peraltro larghissimo dato che il diametro di 16mm). Ai ladri restano quindi tre alternative: sollevare il veicolo e caricarlo su un camion, forzare la serratura oppure segare tutta la struttura del bloccadisco (cosa che credo sia impossibile da fare perch richiederebbe troppo tempo e strumenti industriali).
DIFETTI?
Molti considerano l’allarme un difetto, poich scatta dopo 4 secondi se non si riesce ad inserire o disinserire per tempo il bloccadisco. In realt 4 secondi sono pi che sufficienti, SE il vostro disco ha grosse aperture o “buchi” facilmente raggiungibili. Non c’ alcun bisogno di allenarsi per non far scattare l’allarme, anche perch il movimento per aprire e chiudere la serratura facilissimo. Nel caso in cui il vostro disco sia “complesso”, potete sempre acquistare questo prodotto e staccarne la batteria, far comunque il suo ottimo lavoro.
L’8008 pesante, vero, ma un peso maggiore si traduce in una maggiore robustezza che garantir una migliore protezione al vostro mezzo. Lo sconsiglierei solo a chi avesse intenzione di trasportarlo in uno zaino (mai avere oggetti del genere attaccati al corpo!) e non fosse in grado di farlo trasportare dal mezzo (es. in un baule o sotto la sella).
CONCLUSIONE:
Lo consiglio? S, assolutamente.
Vale i soldi spesi? S, tutto ci che riduce le probabilit di furto vale i soldi spesi.
Amazon was cheaper than anywhere else for this, it is a substantial heavy lock. Only downside is you have to be quick to set it or remove it otherwise the alarm goes off. Luckily haven’t had to test it’s resistance to attack but being Abus I expect it to be very good. Very pleased, a great visual deterrent!
A little fiddly at first but a good piece of kit. Very solidly built, alarm LOUD.
We’ve also got trackers (two on my bike, one plugged in and one rechargeable) but I would rather the bike doesn’t get taken in the first place. This fits both my 2019 R1200RT and my son’s 2019 KTM RC125. Check before buying but it looks like it has plenty of fitting range.
Proven deterrent to thieving scumbags (who should be hung up by nipples over a group of irate riders who’ve had their bikes stolen)

Hi just got disc lock for my Triumph T100 Black. It fits great no problem at all.This lock is very heavy and seems well made as it should for price. Alarm works OK. Easy to use after a bit of practice not setting alarm off. Hope it never has to be put to the test. well pleased.
Upgraded my motorcycle security from a Xena xx10 disc lock. Honestly, this thing made me realise how weak previous disc locks I have had are. It’s weight speaks quality and gives satisfying confidence in the safety of your machine. Can go in a backpack and comes with its own case. An impressive 16mm bolt coated to preserve its life in all elements. The alarm is brilliant giving the usual warning beeps but gives me plenty of time to unlock it before the alarm is triggered. The key has a light on it making it much easier in the dark. Thieves will need to wheely your ride way because this bad boy isn’t going to budge.
Takes just enough to set off the alarm – cars parking nearby, doors closing don’t do it – wiggle the handlebars and off it goes.
Some people use a reminder cable with this – I don’t. I’d be very confident that the alarm would sound well before I released the clutch if it was still mounted.
Purchased as it’s one of the disc locks on the insurance list,it expensive but makes a good noise & fits the brake disc well
I had to call upon a locksmith to remove one of these locks after loosing both keys. It took him 25 minutes to remove it with a diamond tipped angle-gringer. You are never going to find a lock that is impossible to remove, so time is a big factor. It’s expensive, but worth every penny.
What an amazing product. Fits well on my disk lock. I did a very extensive research and this product came on top mainly due to the 16mm bolt and general sturdiness. Besides, Abus is a trustworthy brand in my view. Five stars!
Extremely solid lock. The alarm, as others say, is super sensitive and not as loud as one would expect. There’s a knack to getting it locked and unlocked without setting off the alarm and that is doing it very quickly!
