I bought this for my son back in October when it was on sale. I’m not overly technical when it comes to laptops or software but the IT technician at work was amazed that I bought this spec fornthe money I paid. My son is really happy with it as I bought it for him to finish his A Levels and take to University. It does everything he needs it to. Fab laptop!

Just what I need, it’s really a tablet in the form of a lap top dead simple to use.

Great laptop for the price. Quite fast and with ample memory to start. Great for young student for school or homework. Good enough quality to play games.

An absolute bargain for 129 on warehouse (excellent condition , as new, meaning it was just a return). Fast, very easy to use for an over 60 like me. Wasn’t sure how it would compare with a windows laptop, so it took a few days to work it all out, but very happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBought this as a replacement for my wife’s ACER Chromebook. I was attracted by the price and screen size. I usually buy direct, where possible, from the manufacturer as you are guaranteed a more up to date model. This machine was manufactured 12 months ago. However the AUE is 2030, excellent. I would like to see Chromebook sellers indicate year of manufacture and AUE date as one runs the risk of buying a machine nearing expiration. These dates can be found on Google and give a list of all Chromebook models and expiration dates, so check carefully. The battery when initially fully charged indicated 6.5hrs to 8 hrs not the 11 hours as publicised. We have had many Chromebooks over the years and they do not let you down. I always recommend Chromebooks over Windows laptops for their pure simplicity and ease of setup. They also a great for introducing young children to IT.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe screen may not quite as sharp as the Acer chromebook that it replaced and the battery life doesn’t seem to be quite as good. But it’s a decent laptop that represents very good value for money, if all you need is basic functionality (web-browsing, emails etc.).

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have to say, this is perfect for studying, browsing ect. I don’t know why reviews are so negative! The people’s who write bad reviews have to remember that it is a laptop, not a NASA PC.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is a pretty decent Chromebook, that at the date of writing this review (January 2022) has a long AUE (automatic update expiry) date of June 2029. So it’ll continue to receive regular operating system / device updates until 2029. To be clear, this review is referring to the ASUS ChromeBook CX1500CKA with Pentium Silver N6000 processor, 4GB RAM & 64GB eMMC. I find this model of ChromeBook to be responsive and haven’t found myself getting impatient or wishing it would load web pages faster, even with multiple tabs open and running several lightweight tasks in the background. Fit and finish is pretty good and it doesn’t feel cheap, quite the opposite. Lighter in weight than I was expecting, but feels solid. The underside of the casing has a nice grippy texture, that feels premium; which should help with preventing accidental drops when picking it up. Screen display and image quality are very good. Movies display well with plenty of detail. Keyboard doesn’t feel cramped, especially considering the number of keys and functions that have been fitted in and is generally quite good for typing, though I might consider using an external keyboard if I were going to type a novel. This model does not have a touch screen. I haven’t found this to be an issue nor a detriment, the reverse in fact; and the touchpad is intuitively easy to use and accurate. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I spent quite some time researching and weighing up the pros and cons of different models, including many at much higher price points before opting for this model at a purchase price of 299.99 and I am not at all disappointed. All in all, my expectations have been surpassed There are other ChromeBooks for sale at lower prices or indeed, higher. But, buyer beware – check the AUE date.
