Bon router 4g , rapport performance prix acceptable.

Purchased the UK variant of the 4g-AX56 which came with UK plugs and needed an AU adaptor for use in Australia. The product works best as a wired router, but wired connections are pretty bad where I am so I’ve been using it as a dedicated 4g (sim card) router with no issues so far. Regular scheduled reboots has helped with 4g connectivity issues. A couple of features missing include no USB ports, so you can’t use the router as a media centre or to share files, and you can’t flash it to to run merlin-wrt. Otherwise, a solid purchase and would recommend if you’re looking to use 4g data as either back up or main.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBonjour

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSehr zufrieden!

Genug gergert, Ersatz muss her.

Unglaublich, was alleine ein guter Router ausmacht.

It is good, as usual one can expect from Asus. It is stable. More importantly, it is safe. No other brands of routers I would trust.

However, maybe it is not good enough. Speed is slower (in comparison to other router, or my old Asus router). VPN is not the most stable, i.e., drop every few days or a week. And it will not reconnect automatically. Problem of firmware??? Wait for a more stable firmware to be released.

Could not fault this router at all. Have had it and used it daily, without issue, for several months now.
Connected purely via my 4G SIM, it provides excellent coverage across my home.

The setup process is very simple. Had it up and running within minutes.
For those looking to use it purely for 4G, I just had to activate my SIM and that’s all.
Very easy to set it up with a wired connection too, if anyone is looking to use it with their home connection.

You also have the ability to make the 4G connection as a backup, if your main one goes down.
All of this can be configured with ease via the web interface of the router itself.
Overall, very pleased with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI had been mulling over this item for a year but finally made a move.

It is only a few days since I started to use this router, but I am quite hopeful that this is the right solution and it has stood firm without any initial hiccup.

The very feature I was after is the one where you can switch between several mobile network types. Not only being of the very few products available in this category, but also being so expensive, I would not have forked out for this one.

In the area where I live, you cannot expect much from the copper fixed-line internet due to the poor quality of cable used as well as the cap at the local exchange. To solve the slow uplink/downlink speed, my initial idea was to add a Netgear 4G LTE modem to my existing ASUS RT-AC68U. I was happy for some while but the Netgear is unable to select the mobile network type manually, and it began to have the habit of being stuck in 3G, not 3.5G, even if the 4G reception is fine. This effectively kept me away from the faster network available all the time.

ASUS 4G-68U turned up when trying to find a better solution.

The configuration is straightforward and easy just like its brother RT-AC68U. Only mobile broadband is enabled for internet access, but it can be colocated with fixed broadband in the WAN set-up. Apart from being a 4G LTE modem, there is a couple of things different from its brother. This model has only one USB port which acts unusually configurable as USB2 or USB3. The ASUS router menu does not have USB application for 3G/4G tethering either that RT-AC68U has.

Some people seem to find this model very slow to start up, but I do not. If you think about the fact that this is a 2-in-1 consumer-segment offering, it is rather natural to take a longer initialisation time, adding the time a smartphone takes to reboot. The start-up speed is something I was concerned about when researching 4G LTE modem/routers. Fortunately, however, it is an acceptable level that does not bother me at all.

Although this is very pricey, I cannot do without a decent Internet access. Although it is only a few days of use, it does not take this sort of products so many days before you can evaluate its performance. In this regard, I am pleased with the stable and decent Internet speed that the modem/router provides. I can highly recommend this model.

Was a fantastic upgrade for me, worked really well and is stable.

I have since upgraded to a new network provider, with a much faster speed, taking it to the other end of my house and turning it into a repeater has expanded my network WIFI to even the outside of the back of my house.

I live in Chelmsford, Essex (UK). Mostly, this city has excellent fibre and cable services, but my road has nothing and our (BT) openreach lines (according to their own engineers) run in the wrong direction….max broadband is around 1.5Mb (seriously)
Bought this router and a SIM from three to share mobile internet through the house.
    Works a treat.
I really like the traffic stats that you can view (who used most, what sites/apps…..)

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood router and works very well with an external antenna, however VPN performance using OpenVPN is quite slow. Also regularly fails to connect to 4G on startup, so sometimes needs 2 or 3 restarts before a connection is established which is a pain as it is quite slow to boot. That said, once established it is maintained well. Currently getting up to 90Mbps down and 40Mbps up on EE when signal strength indicator is one bar less than max.
