Great little laptop. A previous review mentioned the fact that the warranty is expired when you register. If you contact Asus support they’re very helpful, and if you send proof of purchase they will reset the warranty period.
I ordered this when my old laptop fully broke down, and initially I figured that these sorts of specs at this price must have a drawback, but after nearly 2 months of usage, I have seen no real drawbacks yet.
Pros
Great battery life
Good for practically anything I use it for, I can run RAM intensive software like Chrome while gaming
Lightweight and easy to travel with
Great screen
Storage seems near infinite
Has a numerical keypad on the touchpad
Cons
Mousepad can be a bit loud when you click it sometimes
All in all, a fantastic laptop, and when I need a new one in a few years, I’ll be looking at Asus agai
Really Happy with my purchase, the quality of the screen is top notch, very happy custome
Good build quality, good for anything a family can throw at it, but not suitable for VR or anything over mid tier gaming.
he Vivobook Pro is a great option with amazing specs.
Memory and RTX are not the fastest.
Benchmark for workstation 39% gaming 44% desktop 92%
I like most things about this laptop, it has a fast processor, it’s lightweight and it’s super quiet. My only gripe is the video playback is not what I expected from a laptop costing nearly a grand. Skin tones don’t look right and images that are brightly coloured seem jagged. Overall though it’s a good laptop.
It’s light so I barely notice it on my back but the screen is definitely big enough that I can dual screen easily all the time.
My only minor gripe with it is the speakers aren’t amazing so watching on my laptop in bed it’s a bit too quiet. However it hooks up great to bluetooth speakers etc and that’s working great.
Came with Windows 11 installed. First time I have used windows 11 & its brilliant. Boots in less than 5 seconds.
Battery life is brilliant, runs for hours.
Build quality is fantastic, not certain if its an aluminium chassis but it feels so solid.
I understand the criticisms about the keyboard back light being white with silver keys but if you angle the display, it’s really not an issue.
I play games occasionally, usually the same ones, the difference in the graphics quality is stunning & I have not yet noticed any fan noise even during heavy demands on the CPU & graphics card.
Its also very light & as such very portable.
If you are considering this laptop, stop considering & buy it. you will not be disappointed.
Only downside to this purchase, not product related was the delivery, Amazon used DPD & they were useless, updating the tracking stating they had tried to deliver at 10pm, no one home to receive it, this was posted at 9am the same day? They then did not try to deliver it again for 2 whole days. Customer service number is a joke, on hold for 1 hour then gave up. Eventually received in a battered cardboard box, fortunately the laptop was not damaged. I pay for Prime & expect much better.
The keyboard is excellent to use also and has an apple quality to it. Battery life is unbelievable lasts for hours the most I’ve had is 12 hours playing movies and 8 hours doing 3D CAD designs. There is no laptop out there that can match it and I’ve tested dozens before buying this one.
Really like this machine, I’ve had it a few months now and it’s brillia t.
My only minor gripe is the keyboard is grey with white light under them. So it’s almost impossible to see which keys are which! But that’s a minor problem really. Maybe take note Asus.
For people who are colour blind or with poor sight I would imagine it will be even harder to see. As yet I haven’t found out if the backlight can be turned off, I sincerely hope it can. See photos.
EDIT. By experimenting I eventually found that the keyboard lights can be turned off by pressing Function key F7 TWICE. One press brightens the screen. Again two presses will turn it back on. Seems crazy but I couldn’t find this information anywhere, we are all supposed to have inbuilt insight these days. Hopefully others will find this info useful.
Why would anyone put USB 2 on a modern laptop? OK for a mouse or keyboard but for data it’s slow.
The Thunderbolt 4 connection is USB C so you can plug in USB drives or memory sticks for faster data transfer, an adaptor may be required.
One of the first things it does is download Windows 11 then there are a large number of questions to be answered which takes a while. Setting up is a slow process.
I got this laptop for the OLED screen which is miles better than my old laptop so it should be suitable for photo and video editing. Hopefully it will render videos a lot faster.
Early days at the moment, I may come back to add more when I have used it more.
Having used it for one week now I am really impressed – it is so quick to boot up and the finger-print recognition is an excellent additional feature saving having to key in passwords. The Oled screen is amazing, such bright colours, there is a lovely touch to the keyboard and a good-sized screen and touchpad.
I had a problem creating an Asus account but got in touch and this was resolved in 48 hours.
Lighter and more useable.
If you are looking for a light weight laptop that you can travel with and almost do what a desktop can then this ones for you.
Its got the power needed to run heavy desktop applications and It can run games up to high settings.
I looked on Asus’s website, in certain countries this laptop comes with a bag and a mouse, however in the UK you only get a charger.
15 Inch laptop with FHD resolution is the perfect combination any thing smaller will not be good in my opinion.
If you are thinking of getting one then do so you will not regret it.
