Needed a new laptop after going a few years without one, but with kids getting older it became necessary to replace.
After a lot of research I found an ASUS vivobook with a decent spec, however on my search was also this Zenbook, with a hefty discount. What I also found was one model available on Amazon Warehouse with 60% discount from the RRP, but still described as Very Good condition.
It arrived in immaculate condition and had no signs of ever being opened. The packaging had been re-taped but other than that the laptop is in perfect condition.
And it works great, the Intel I7 processor is top quality, the screen is sharp and the speakers appear decent enough.
Well built laptop that meets my needs and more as a casual user.
I was initially scared about this laptop because of some reviews I read after placing the order and I thought I would return it within a month. But it’s been 5 months and I’m still enjoying it as freshly as it came out of the pack.
It’s the flexibility and seamless conversion for me. Regardless of my sitting or lying position, it’s always comfortable to use. I wish though, that it’s not so hot when in use and that all edges were perfectly smoothened to avoid scratches/ injuries.
If you are looking for a premium 2-in-1 laptop that can handle your everyday tasks with ease, you might want to check out the ASUS ZenBook Flip UX363EA. This laptop is powered by the Intel EVO platform, which means it has a fast and efficient 11th gen Intel Core processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, long battery life, and instant wake-up. It also features a stunning 13.3-inch OLED touchscreen that delivers vivid colours, deep blacks, and wide viewing angles. The ZenBook Flip OLED UX363EA is designed to be slim, light, and durable, with a 360-degree hinge that allows you to use it in various modes: laptop, tablet, tent, or stand. It also comes with a stylus pen, a USB-C to audio jack adapter, and a range of ports for connectivity.
–Pros–
1- OLED screen: The ZenBook Flip has a 13.3-inch Full HD OLED display that offers a superior viewing experience compared to conventional LCD screens. OLED screens have self-illuminating pixels that can produce more vibrant colours, higher contrast, and deeper blacks. They also consume less power and have faster response times. The OLED’s screen has a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, which means it can display more shades of colours than most laptops. It also has a 178-degree wide-viewing angle, which means you can enjoy the same picture quality from any position.
2- Intel EVO platform: The ZenBook is certified by the Intel EVO platform, which is a set of standards that ensure a high-performance laptop experience. The Intel EVO platform requires a laptop to have an 11th gen Intel Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, at least 9 hours of battery life on a Full HD screen, fast charging capability, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and instant wake-up from sleep mode. The ZenBook Flip OLED UX363EA meets all these criteria, which means it can handle your daily tasks smoothly and efficiently.
3- Versatile design: The ZenBook Flip OLED UX363EA has a 360-degree hinge that allows you to flip the screen and use it in different modes: laptop mode for typing and productivity, tablet mode for drawing and browsing, tent mode for watching videos or presentations, and stand mode for reading or gaming. The hinge is sturdy and smooth, and the laptop automatically adjusts the screen orientation and keyboard function according to the mode you choose. The laptop also comes with an ASUS Pen stylus that lets you write or draw on the screen with precision and pressure sensitivity. The stylus has a built-in battery that can last up to 10 months on a single charge.
4- Portability and durability: It is designed to be slim and light, weighing only 1.15 kg and measuring only 13.9 mm thin. It is easy to carry around in your bag or backpack, and it has a sleek and elegant pine grey colour that looks professional and stylish. The laptop is also built to last, with an all-metal body that is tested to meet the MIL-STD-810G military standard for durability. The laptop can withstand drops, shocks, vibrations, extreme temperatures, humidity, and altitude.
–Cons–
1- Keyboard layout: The ZenBook Flip OLED UX363EA has a compact keyboard that might not suit everyone’s preferences. The keyboard has narrow keys that are close together, which might cause some typing errors or discomfort for users with large hands or fingers. The keyboard also lacks some dedicated keys such as Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, and Delete, which are replaced by Fn combinations on the arrow keys. Some users might find this inconvenient or confusing.
2- No headphone jack: The UX363EA does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which means you cannot plug in your wired headphones or speakers directly into the laptop. Instead, you have to use the USB-C to audio jack adapter that comes with the laptop or use wireless headphones or speakers via Bluetooth. Some users might find this annoying or limiting.
3- Limited performance: It is not meant to be a gaming or heavy-duty laptop. It has an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor and Intel Iris Xe graphics that can handle everyday tasks such as web browsing, office work, video streaming, photo editing, etc., but not demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, 3D rendering, etc. The laptop also tends to get hot and noisy when running intensive applications or games.
–Reasons to buy–
– If you want a premium 2-in-1 laptop that can switch between different modes and has a stylus pen for drawing or writing on the screen.
– If you want a laptop with a stunning OLED screen that offers vivid colours, high contrast, and wide viewing angles.
– If you want a laptop that is powered by the Intel EVO platform, which ensures a fast and efficient performance, long battery life, and instant wake-up.
–Reasons to avoid–
– If you prefer a laptop with a larger or more comfortable keyboard that has dedicated keys for navigation and editing.
-If you need a laptop with a headphone jack that can connect to your wired headphones or speakers without an adapter.
– If you need a laptop that can handle gaming or heavy-duty tasks without overheating or throttling.
Conclusion
The ASUS ZenBook UX363EA is a sleek and versatile 2-in-1 laptop that offers a superior viewing experience with its OLED screen, fast and efficient performance with its Intel EVO platform, and a flexible design with its 360-degree hinge and stylus pen. It is ideal for users who want a premium laptop that can adapt to their needs and preferences, whether it is for work, entertainment, or creativity. However, it is not suitable for users who need a larger or more comfortable keyboard, a headphone jack, or a gaming or heavy-duty laptop.
Screen is a gem, clear and bright. Specs for the price are spot on, although the laptop is not cheap, it feels like reasonable value. Start up quick, face recognition works well. Touch screen is responsive, although I don’t use it much.
Plenty of hard drive space too.
Recommended.
I moved from a 3 year old HP laptop to this absolute powerhouse. Great touchscreen, excellent battery life and works really well as a tablet. Highly recommended.
This laptop is great, it’s slick design feels nice and it looks brilliant. The hardware chosen is perfect, and performance is brilliant (am able to run a virtual machine without issue), and even run some mid level graphical games with no performance issues (although I wouldn’t recommend for in-depth gaming) this device feels very artsy although I haven’t tried any software like that with it, I expect there wouldn’t be any issues around that.
The battery life is good, but doesn’t feel as long as stated, especially when you’re doing things.
The touchscreen works great, it is a bit of a faff I’d you have larger hands, but easy to adapt.
The facial recognition works great too, it is a bit dodgy with glasses, and doesn’t really work when the device is in upside down tablet mode, but no issues besides this.
I would recommend, especially if you can catch it in a sale.
So far it is working as I expected. Would be happier with an additional port. But nothing is wrong with it.
The Product is perfect and shipping was quite fast.
Would have definitely put 5 Star if I had received the package with a leather sleeve like all Reviews I read and watched mentioned.
It’s very good machine especially compared to overpriced and underperforming peers (read Dell, HP).
There is overheating issue but it is resolved by bios update.
Letters printed on keyboard are too big and look cheap to me but once you get used to it you hardly notice it.
Somehow keyboard attracts lot of dust and even very little oil on finger gets magnified on keys.
All in all except for keyboard it good all round device. Good display, good performance and lightweight.
It’s exactly what I was looking for.. Lightweight and easy to carry around due to its size but without renouncing to excellent performance!
I have been using it for a few weeks and I highly recommend it!
I love the possibility of hybrid use both as a computer and as a tablet.
