This monitor supports 15khz. Which means for an old Amiga you need a 23pin RGB to VGA adapter and VGA cable. Only Hdmi cable came with monitor. Don’t get GW2780T not the GW2780. The latter has no VGA port.
I bought this for my husband who has macular degeneration. He is very pleased with it.
The picture is clear and the colours are vibrant. Great!
My fault for not researching but I originally bought it to daisy chain with my other monitor. Still works no problem just means i have no spare ports on my laptop/had to buy an extender

I bought this to pair with a mac mini, to replace a very old imac 27 inch. It does the job well and has good connectivity and has great positional adjutment and flexibilty..got a good deal on one from Amazon warehouse
This Monitor is great for the price. It has all the features I wanted, including Low Blue light adjuster, flicker free settings, and a brightness sensor.
While there are other Monitors that offer more features they tend to cost slightly more. This Monitor has a 30000 hours backlight LED endurance and a 60000 hours power on MTBF,/ The 72% NTSC color gamut is good enough for most tasks, and it also comes with a HDMI cable and a sturdy stand.
The auto brightness sensor works well and the blue light filter can be adjusted to 50% for web browsing making it easy on teh eye. It also has DP and HDMI ports and the speakers are decent, though one may want to invest in a Speaker System for a better audio experience as this whre its lacking

Dont do gaming so cant comment on that but a very good “second” monitor with a laptop.
Also with the speakers built in can use it with firestick etc to watch movies
I’m running this along side a QHD big brother SRGB compliant Benq Panel and yeah, the quality of output is ok for just reading things but wouldn’t advise to use this for any colour specific requirement work.
Best monitor I’ve ever purchased, the colour quality is brilliant for the price.
I was using it on older PC to play older games. It works perfect for that. Of course it’s no match for more expensive models with higher resolution and/or refresh rate but they cost much more. Rated power consumption is 30W which sounds good, quite efficient.
Nice clear screen but the speakers are so tinny. Speakers totally useless for music, but strangely voices are very clear in video calls. (After I tweaked them in PC settings). I have separate speakers I turn on for music so for notifications and voice speakers are adequate. No Screen height adjustment on my model so I have a book under stand to raise to eye level.
Really like it but HP being next to it as my second screen open a second or two quicker than this one.
Bought for homeworking a year and a half ago. Very happy with this product. Picture quality is good and the monitor is reliable. Cable tidy is an excellent design. No speaker on this monitor but I didn’t require one. Would be even better if it had adjustable height but that would have cost more and a couple of books worked just as well.
My only complaint is that the supplier provided a European mains lead and an old VGA cable, both of which are useless to me , instead of a UK mains cable ( clue – my delivery address is in the UK) and an HDMI cable (clue – current technology).
Good quality screen for day to day tasks. HDMI connection is good enough as screen is 60Hz only.
Recommend for work and movies. Not the best choice if you would like to play fast paced FPS as then you will need 144hz as minimum, otherwise good product, no issues

Some monitor manufacturers have had issues with flickering when connected to the new Mac M1 computers.
Ordered another make of monitor, but returned that one unopened as read several issues with flickering.
BenQ online knowledge centre recommend connecting BenQ monitors to Mac M1 directly via HDMI in order to maintain consistent performance.
I was expecting a HDMI cable instead of VGI. But overall it seems to be working perfectly.
Struggling to get monitor from Local Retailers during lockdown, click and collect useless. I just gave up in the end and ordered this instead- a bit risky as I had not heard of Benq before.
Nonetheless it was delivered the vary next day, in pristine condition, took about 10 minutes to set up, another 10 to become familiar with how to adjust, and three weeks later its going great and looks great too.
This model does not have a “tilt” function but none is needed, it’s perfect from all angles. I could though do with a “swivel” function and am investigating ways to achieve this.
Can’t fault it, very happy.
Firstly, the panel is a IPS panel which is rather different from the average screen. IPS panels have improved viewing angles which allows you to view the monitor at different angles (such as sideways on) and still have a clean picture as if you were viewing it straight on. In addition, the colours are improved on a IPS monitor which will result in everything including images and videos appear more vibrant than what you’d be used to on a standard screen. Moreover, this monitor supports RGB 0-255 which means the monitor can display darker black and brighter white than standard monitors you’d have say on a regular laptop. All these features are very noticeable when coming from a non-IPS screen and improves the experience. Furthermore, you may have heard of the problem “backlight bleed” in IPS monitors where the light from the screen leaks out the sides and produces a faded picture around the side of the screen; well, the monitor I received has none of this whatsoever which I can’t say about another IPS monitor I had before this one.
There are a few additional features this monitor offers on top of the quality panel: the first being the in-built speakers. These are definitely not the best quality speakers if you are looking for good quality sound; otherwise, these will do the trick. A lot of similar monitors don’t offer speakers at all so it’s hard to complain. Moreover, there is a non-glair finish on the screen, a brightness sensor (which can be disabled if you want), and two HDMI ports.
One downside I have come across from my personal use is that the eye-care technology does take away from the true colours of what it is being displayed on the screen. In the standard picture mode, the monitor is set to there is a slight blue light reduction which does slightly affect the way things look, such as games and images which can be detrimental when gaming or working on Photoshop etc. To remove the redness in the image this brings, go into the settings and select “user mode” where you can then set the image colour levels to be unaffected. Only one custom “user mode” can be made, so this makes it a bit less convenient to change the brightness on one setting. An additional con would be that there was no HDMI cable provided which means you have to purchase your own.
This is a great monitor for the price, and delivers in all the important areas apart from lacking in some more minor areas. Overall, all I can’t complain for the price, and would recommend.
I bought this as like most of the UK I am working from home. It’s perfect for the job, being clear and big enough to give a wide view. I use split screen a lot, so the size of this makes it even more ideal for that. No complaints at all. I can’t comment on it for gaming as I don’t use it for that.
Takes a bit of setting up and, like most TV’s, I have no idea who determines the various colour modes, possibly a colour blind individual, they are just ridiculous!
Anyway after a bit of faffing about with brightness, contrast, colour and gamma settings it is possible to make this monitor display a pretty good image, so well worth the money.
If I was being fussy, I would say there is a bit of shading ion the edges, but that’s about it. Text is sharp and readable and once having set it up properly, the colour rendition is pretty good.
Very good monitor at the price. My fourth Benq monitor and I’m happy with all of them, (3x 24″ and 1 x 21″) although the 21″ whites are quite bright , much more so than the 24’s and a good colour balance is difficult to achieve. Never had a dead pixel. Be aware that I’m not seeking professional colour accuracy and I’m not playing modern games but for my purposes these monitors are perfect.
This monitor is absolutely wonderful for all your tech needs. I’m using two of these monitors for a dual screen setup which is easier for me because I am a game developer and software engineer.
The eye care feature on this monitor is what allows me to use dual screens without having to worry about my eye sight becoming impaired as a result of having a dual screen setup.
I would recommend this particular monitor to anyone looking for something that’s high quality and protects your eyes.

Very good quality product, the stand is very stable, so the whole screen stable, very happy with the purchase. I also bought LG monitor before, the stand was not stable, felt like the monitor may fall anytime. One problem is that I can’t connect it as speaker for some reason.

Bought this as a replacement to my very old screen on work.
It’s amazing the screen and image quality is great, only down side is the refresh rate it to low for gaming.
But if your looking for a great monitor for office and home use, watching movies and browsing without getting eye strain then get this monitor.
Very pleased with these as home office computer monitors. Blacks could be blacker but isn’t an issue for me as not gaming or watching films etc.
Auto contrast is a bit irritating if turned on (off by default) as it shows an icon when it is changing and I couldn’t find a way to have it on without seeing the icon every couple of mins (as a techy user).
Refresh is good, no flickering. Balance of contrast is good and allows light details to be visible on a light background. Colour is nice. Good set of modes which are well set.
Check physical sizes on the manufacturer website as I found the product dimensions looked weird on Amazon and a few places and I think the dimensions include the stand (useless if you are trying to get an idea of what it will be like on arms)
Great 24 inch monitor for the price. No colour banding or bleeding, and has a high quality think bezel.
So glad I got this after struggling with a dull monitor that resisted all attempts to give good results despite wrestling with OSD settings and Windows 10’s Intel HD Graphics configuration applet.
With the Benq installed, and the default OSD settings, I set Intel HD Graphics to brightness 0, contrast 50, gamma 1.4, and everything looks great.
I have also taken to using many apps in half-screen mode (by snapping with Win+Left or Win+Right), as half the screen width is adequate for many of them. Some apps, I run full-screen, eg for movies. Still getting used to having so much space.
Off to the side I have an ancient monitor which I use for watching YouTube videos while I work on the big screen, so I can keep ‘entertainment’ quarantined from ‘work’. I don’t have to do that, but it keeps me disciplined.
This screen is a great size, lovely & clear & super easy to set up. I just plugged it in to my Microsoft Surface (had to buy an HTMI/USB adapter first) & it was ready to go straightaway. The speaker volume is a bit quieter than my Surface so I had to turn it up quite a bit.
Bought it as a second screen, but now use it in connection with my firetv stick. Easy to plug and play: Fits perfectly in my study.

I’m surprised the monitor is so good quality for 92. No dead pixels, Even on a dark picture no backlight bleed. Very robust stand with tilt function, no height adjustment but it is a budget monitor.
I’m using it as an office computer, surfing the web, and a bedroom tv by plugging in a fire tv stick.
The display settings needed adjusting picture was a bit washed out, it’s fine now though.
I would recommend this monitor, I’m very happy with it.
The connected laptop automatically defaults to the monitor as audio device and I spent ages trying to work out why there was no sound coming from it, even when muted and volume up, trying different cables and source devices, but there was sound coming from some headphones plugged into the jack at the rear of the monitor.
After time on the Support Chat, I looked at manufacturers website, comparing to another BenQ monitor I own with speakers.
The spec here isn’t entirely clear until you go on manufacturers website for this model, that there are no built-in speakers.
I can work around this with some external speakers, but not everyone can, so beware if you are expecting built-in ones.

This monitor has been a saviour of my eyes. Before I got it a year ago, I could hardly look at a screen for more than 5 minutes without my eyes burning and now I can work for hours in front of my computer. It is not only the light blue technology but fundamental for me the flicker-free technology. The difference has been amazing. My eyes don’t get tired, sore or burning. I hope BenQ continues making more of these monitors.
After much research I chose this Benq over the competing Samsung/LG/Acer, all at similar price points. The BenQ hands down has the best panel and the near bezel-less design looks fab!
When I first attempted to switch on this monitor it wouldn’t switch on. So I naturally gave the power lead a good wiggle and it started working, I thought nothing of it. Then the next day the same issue! The kettle lead was fully inserted but you only had to gently move it left or right to hear the power connecting and disconnecting.
I pulled out the power cable and compared it to a spare one I had. Well well! The picture tells the fulls story! The cable on the left came with the monitor and the one on the right is a spare one that I had. You can see clearly in the second picture that the pins are too far embedded into the adapter vs. the one I have on the right which means they aren’t mating in the socket of the monitor.
Now take a look at the first photo. You can see my cable on the right has an end so that you know you’ve pushed the cable in as far as it needs to go. The one on the left which came with this monitor doesn’t have that.
Conclusion: Freakin great monitor for the price but would rather pay a pound more for a decent cable! It’s a pretty essential part of any monitor and the quality shouldn’t have been skimped on here!! I’ll still give you 5 stars though…
Just bear in mind if the resolution is right for you. I’ve been using a 1080×1920 on a 24 inch and that gives a good amount of space and pixel density. Bear in mind this, larger monitor, is also 1080×1920, so the same pixels displayed in a larger area. Thus you don’t not see any more on this 27 inch than you do on a 24 inch. Images, text etc are all larger. This is fine for my as I use if for work and have failing eye sight as a get older but a mate told me to go for 1440px on 27 inch for gaming, and I can see why. I don’t game so don’t care.
All in all very pleased.
When I fully set up the screen I had the same issue with the colour palate as everyone else and it took a lot of googling to finally figure out how to unlock the HDMI RGB PC range option.
Before I unlocked it and maxed out the RBG the colour palate was very muted and not as vibrant as my other monitor.
To unlock the option go to AMD Radeon software(or whatever software you use) -> Settings -> Display -> Choose the display -> Pixel format -> RGB 4:4:4:Pixel format PC Standard (Full RGB).
Afterwards go to the screen settings -> Picture Advanced -> HDMI RGB PC range -> RGB (0-255)
I now work from home permanently and I have a Dell S2716DG & ASUS VG278QR already but really felt like I needed a 3rd monitor to help with productivity and ideally wanted something to match in looks and size.
I wasn’t expecting much with this BenQ in comparison to my other two monitors as they’re more than double the price (yea they’re primarily gaming monitors and TN) but the BenQ is a huge surprise, I have it mounted on a desk arm next to my others and it’s really nice quality panel and aside from gaming makes my other two look a bit of a rip off.
Positives;
– Nice light panel
– Good menu, easy to navigate unlike some
– Thin bezels
– Deep blacks and vivid colours
– The Price!!!
Negatives;
– The monitor stand it comes with is very poor (buy a desk arm mount)
– Random gloss bit that sticks down at bottom of screen, as far as I can tell it has no function.
I bought this monitor from Amazon and it was fitted with a UK plug. The monitor is used for office work, internet browsing and hobby photo editing. On my desk, 60cm from my eyes, the screen is a very good size. The clarity and resolution are fine for for my purposes and the narrow frame make it pleasantly compact.
On the whole, it does the job very well and, at about 100, I think that it represents very good value for money.
It loses a star overall because the headphone socket is not easily accessible. It’s in a recess on the back, next to the VGA socket and facing downwards. It’s so awkward that I leave the headphones permenantly connected and switch between them and external speakers.
This Ben -Q was the cheapest well know brand in a 27 inch widescreen monitor that i found so picked up one after a little comparisons to other like costing ones.
The screen it’self it bright and clear, I don’t really play with the settings too much but you can adjust the brightness to set up a blue screen to help with eye fatigue. I’ve been working many long hours and I’ve not noticed too much of a problem with eye strain so suggest it’s helping on that front.
There are two mild annoyances which I would suggest moves away from it being 5 start great product.
1) the stand- is absolutely useless. It doesn’t appear to hold the monitor up at all or be easy to adjust. This isnt’ such a problem as I now have a two monitor set up and use a universal duel monitor stand attached to my desk- I would suggest a better stand for this monitor if you end up buying it.
2) the selection of input source is a little tedious. I use my monitor for work and a CCTV system, so flick between two inputs (HDMI and Displaylink). this isn’t a quick and easy button to select the HDMi source, you have to push a few buttons and cycle through the list. It works but could be better.
However, that said neither of these issues made me want to return it or stop me from buying a second monitor so I have a 2 screen set up- I bought the same as they were matching.
Good enough for what I need – basic home office set up and a really good price. So happy overall.

This is a superb quality wide screen 24″ full hd monitor.

The picture quality is brilliant, extremely clear with crisp, vivid, bright colours.
The quality of the screen is also outstanding with edge to edge picture.
The monitor base stand is excellent, nice & strong plus very sturdy.
My daughter is an avid gamer, graphics tablet user plus A lever student. This monitor ticks all the boxes for use for all the above.
After much searching it came down to a choice between this monitor and another well known make. Both monitors were basically identical except for one thing. The BenQ tipped the scales due to the design and quality of the monitor stand.
Overall this is a fantastic quality monitor at an affordable price.

The Eye-Care technology with Low Blue Light technology and flicker-free performance for extended viewing comfort was the other main draw for me given the amount of time I typically spend in front of the screen. Didn’t really need to play about with the settings at all, picture is crystal clear but may try out a recommendation on settings provided by one other reviewer. Really like the proportions of the screen and stand – make it an ideal choice for those with limited office space.
My only minor quibble would be this product doesn’t come with an HDMI lead and for that alone I’d rate this product 4.5 stars.
I initially got a BlackHawk 1ms 27″ gaming monitor but it didn’t like my MSI graphics card so I sent it back and got this one. Wow although its not a gaming monitor it is certainly better than the gaming monitor I tried. It has a vesa 100 wall mounting slot and takes all of the leads, dvi, usb, play etc. Oh and built in speakers which are better than other builtin speakers i have tried.
Now this might sound daft but I am so pleased with this monitor I am trying to stop myself from buying another. I don’t need another but it really is that good.
I bought this monitor when it became obvious I would be working from home for quite some time. At 149 at the time of purchase and with option to make five monthly payments at 0% via Amazon’s own Instalments offering this was a no brainer. At 27″ the display is rather large, but it’s perfect for providing enough screen real-estate to not need or want a second monitor, nor have your laptop to act as the latter. In fact, I also bought a TwelveSouth BookArc stand for my MacBook so I could sit it behind the monitor out of the way during my daily use.
The monitor’s near bezel-less design on three sides is truly excellent and reduces the overall bulk of the display. The max resolution is 1080p so sitting quite close to the monitor can reduce the clarity of text versus a 24″ monitor at 1080p but I find it absolutely fine! For reference, the screen is sat about 45cm into my desk meaning my eyes are about 60-65cm from the display. You wouldn’t want to be sat any closer than that to be entirely honest with you.
The monitor has it’s own blue light reducing modes as well as colour blind options should you require them. I really wanted to like the former setting but found it make the screen too orangey for me to do my daily work. Personally I make use of the f.lux app on Mac to dim/change the colour of the display with the time of day and this works greatly to reducing eye fatigue towards the end of a 9 hour day.
I really liked the cable tidy facility in the stand at the back! It’s a tight squeeze though with anything other than the power and a HDMI lead in there, although I did manage to feed the speaker-to-speaker cable from Bose Companion 2 Series 3 speakers into it though which helps out slightly with taking any messy cables out of my eye-line when sat at the desk.
All in all, a great buy for the price.
I did find the colour/brightness settings etc to be a bit odd when I first powered on the monitor but after some playing came to a combination that works well. For reference these are:
Brightness – 85%
Contrast – 50%
Sharpness – 5
Gamma – 3
Color Temperature – Normal
Picture Mode – Standard
The monitor has a light sensor in the front of it which can adjust the brightness etc depending on ambient conditions, but I found this to have an adverse impact given the varying light condition in the location I sit so disabled it. Others may find it useful though. Just a tip on that point, when you unbox the monitor be sure to remove the plastic film over the light sensor. It’s not immediately obvious it’s there but it’ll cause constant brightness adjustments when you use the monitor if you don’t — as I learnt! hah.
All in all, would buy again.
I had 2 22″ HP monitors which were similar model numbers but were slightly different sizes, driving me mad at times. SO for about 1100 delivered I thought I’d try the Benq 24″ monitors, buying an AmazonBasics dual stand.
Have to say for the money I’m very impressed. Good size screens and clear. There is a slight difference to colour (more red in one) but this is very minor and could be due to cables or anything so I am ok to live with it.
I have the screens linked to a laptop and a desktop, both work well and by using the HDMI and DP ports I don’t have to mess changing cables, switching is pretty easy. The included HDMI cables are stupidly short so if using a desktop away from the top of the desk I’d get another. I bought 6 Amazon 1.8m DP cables which you will need if you want to use with multiple computers.
Brightness is ok, not super bright which is probably a good thing.
Overall very pleased, hard to get anything better for anywhere near this price.

I have had experience working with a wide-range through university in labs and art rooms. This monitor is punching well above its weight according to the price. The colours out of the box are OK, a little warm but once you go through the calibration (simply hit windows, type calibrate) and sort out the hue it is beautiful! Don’t get me wrong it is not quite on the same level as an acer predator that boasts colours as nice as this and runs at 140Hz on top but keeping in mind the price this is really hard to beat.
I bought a dell p2414H at the same time, which costs 145. This display easily blows that out of the water. The Dell does come with a better stand and a USB hub but the colours of the Dell monitor were nowhere near as nice as this out of the box. And there is a version of this monitor that comes with a more ergonomic stand however I always recommend just buying a cheap 20 monitor arm, they’re about the same cost increase and often offer much better range of motion.
This monitor is amazing value for money and its gaming mode and ability to increase its refresh rate makes it versatile. I game on it too and it doesn’t skip a beat and the entire process of using this is a dream.
Happily recommend this purchase, you won’t be disappointed.
Where to start! What a gem. I’ve tried a few monitors lately including this guys brother the 2280 VA panel which was utterly horrendous. And what a surprise! This little IPS monitor does the job very well. I use it for a bit of email type stuff and some console gaming and for the price I paid (75) it’s a little gem.
Make sure to use the “user” profile if you want full picture adjustment options and make sure your black level (full or limited) are set on the monitor correctly for the device you are using and you will get a rich yet balanced picture. As per usual the pre set profiles are pretty bleh so ignore them.
I had no dead pixels or light bleed on my unit. This can vary obviously and likewise while there is some IPS glow (you cannot avoid this) it is minimal and one of the better results I’ve had experience with. This CAN vary unit to unit however but for me I got lucky in the panel lottery.
Connectivity is fine, 2 x HDMI 1.4 and a er vga..also audio in and out to hook up some speakers. The onboard audio is predictably bad but thats monitors for you and solved with some external pc speakers.
Zero perceivable ghosting issues in Apex or forza on xbox with overdrive in the middle although using the extreme setting does incur some overshoot but again that’s pretty normal on any monitor and not needed as this hoovers around 10MS input (INPUT LAG, grey to grey is typical IPS at 5ms) lag on normal overdrive.
Out of the box as usual the brightness is set to full wack. Personally I reduce this way to to 15-20 but I prefer a dimmer screen while putting contrast up a tad. I’m still messing with colour balance but at the moment neutral setting is fairly balanced to the eye (warm is overly red even for warm and cold is terrible lol)
Considering the alternatives from other brand companies are atleast twice the price at the same size this thing has taken me by surprise and for the budget end you cannot go wrong. The only difference between this and others I’ve found is the lack of freesync support but that is not worth the 60 pound difference.
Anyway fully recommend this as a cheap console monitor or for day to day use. Is there better..yes but at 65 I’d love to see a alternative that beats this even equivalents at twice the price.

I bought this monitor 1 month ago and it has been one of the best investments I made.
I work very long hours with the computer and also at night so I need something with good quality and beside to remove the annoying bright of the blue light and with this monitor I feel my eyes much more relaxed when the night is coming.
Perfect size if what you need is a monitor to read things on internet, watch some serial or for programming.
I thought that 21” could be a bit small for what I needed but all the opposite, I am really happy with it.
Okay first off… If VESA Mounting this monitor does NOT come with supplied screws! Screws required are M4 x 10 Machine screws.
And secondly, I am a little biased towards 1440p monitors but for 1080p it is fairly decent.
Moving on to how this monitor looks, Style: The monitor’s style looks nice and slim. Textured back and stand, giving it a somewhat supported and modern look. Also, the textures help grip when moving this monitor.
Bezels: the structured edge is 2mm thick while the amount covered by actual screen space is 3mm so overall the bezel is roughly 5mm thick all around, except the bottom of the monitor which is 20mm thick.
Connections: HDMI, Display Port, VGA. +headphone jack and possibly Audio In (Not Sure) “UNE IN”?
Buttons: 5 buttons on the front display excluding the Power Button that lights up white. But the white led is positioned about 5mm back so can’t be seen if looking down on the monitor.
Have not tested brightness yet but, not anywhere near as good out of the box as my MSI Optix MAG27CQ (Still biased to 1440p 😀 )

My other Benq is 21″ so I decided to up the ante and go for 27″, and I’m really glad I did. The 21″ is only on for rack or mixer duties when using Reason and this model I now use for everyday tasks. The extra size is really useful in ways I hadn’t considered, for example having a whole A4 page open in Word or PowerPoint – so less scrolling, and it’s great being able to see the whole design of a slide without having to reduce the size. So a bonus there for me.
This monitor is very clear, and the Eye Care allows me to use them for extended periods with no eye strain or head aches (unlike my work monitors). The picture is detailed and the colours natural. It’s different from my Surface or Samsung S7 AMOLED screens, they are arguably more detailed but also more harsh if that’s the right word. Some of my deck top wallpapers look 3D. Very impressive. I don’t play games, so I can’t comment of screen refresh rates etc. I have noticed a big difference when working at night, as this screen is much easier on the eye than the above mentioned. Also, this monitor is near a window with lots of sunshine, (not directly on the screen), but I have no issues at all with reflections, and the screen always seems even in terms of details and brightness.
I use this monitor via HDMI, and the other on DVI due to the configuration of my HD7000 graphics card, and I can’t tell any difference, just in case you have to use one or the other. You do need to use the manual buttons under the screen to pick the input first time (it’s not auto), but after that it recognises the monitor every time.
Having a bigger screen, with this level of clarity, at this price has been a revelation for me. It has helped with my workflow, and makes time at the PC a pleasure. If you want a quality 27″ monitor at a great price (and looking through ratings before buying this I noticed Benq would reply to all complaints in good time), you will definitely be more than happy with this model. Highly Recommended.
I have 2 small cons, and they aren’t even big. The screen could be a tiny bit brighter, so that during bright summer days it stands out a bit more. But it’s perfect in the dark and again not even really an issue. And the speakers are quiet and tinny. But to be honest. I don’t care, I have speakers plugged in for that exact reason, but the fact it has them at all is still really nice. Dropping from 2k to 1080p I thought I’d notice too, but to be honest, after adjusting the picture and sharpness, I can honestly live with it. The colour depth is lovely and I’m just impressed. I’m tempted to get a second and have a dual monitor display. The stand can be a tiny bit wobbly, but as long as you’re not banging around again, it’s firmly supported and not a problem.
Cable management is a nice after thought. Supports Displayport. Nice matte screen finish. Anti scratch surface (I have a pet hate of shiny surfaces).
Screen tearing isn’t even that bad, maybe running at 84hz helps. But I’m enjoying gaming on this and I’ve tried 2 different gaming high refresh rate monitors before this!
If you’re in doubt go for it.
** Update 2 Weeks later **
I’ve decided to sadly drop this to 4 stars. All the pros I’ve mentioned still stand strong. I ordered a 2nd monitor and now I have an excellent duel monitor setup. However viewing a black screen I have noticed the backlight bleed along the top and left hand side are considerably more noticeable now especially when warm – and I’m pretty picky. However, at this price, and since backlight bleed is obviously unavoidable when it comes to an IPS screen I feel it’s a good compromise. But just worth mentioning.
** UPDATE AGAIN IN 2020 ** – I bought the first two a few years ago. I recently settled for a 3rd monitor to accommodate my gaming/multitasking and work. I’ve placed the new monitor in the middle and the two previous monitors either side, I have to say, I’m impressed. Over time the backlight bleed in the top left corner of my original two I would say got a tiny tiny bit worse, but not catastrophically, and it didn’t ruin the image for me at all (I nit-pick so I do seek it out when I’m presented with a black screen in some sort of weird hope that it’s rectified itself which of course is wishful thinking). But this new monitor has a definite improvement in BLB. It’s barely there at all. I notice the bottom bezel of the screen wasn’t as tight fitting to the panel (concerned me at first). But I suspect it’s in an attempt to put less stress on the panel and allow less light to leak. I’ve noticed as well this screen seems much richer in contrast and colour. The blacks are much, much improved showing almost no glow. Something I didn’t even notice on my previous monitors. So I’d say there’s been an improvement in quality/control since I bought my first two. The buttons are slightly less tactile but I barely use them. It’s almost a bit annoying now the main middle monitor is slightly better than the other two. However – I’m keeping an eye out for a Spyder 5 pro 2nd hand to try and match the colour profiles/look across all 3 screens anyway. So hopefully after that they’re all as close to each other in terms of picture as possible – Long story short, I still love these monitors. I’d bump it to 4.5 stars if I could, since the backlight bleed has been significantly reduced. My new monitor can clock to 77HZ, anything over that and it fails. I have them setup on a 3 monitor arm (which I’d highly recommend as the stand can be a tiny bit wobbly).
