Good, standard Berghaus quality which is waterproof, comfortable and can be fitted with a Berghaus fleece. Nice waterproof but rather expensive for what it is. If the fleece was included (I bought one elsewhere that had this) it would be much better value.
This is a lovely jacket, and comfortably covers your rear quarters if that’s what you need. I had originally ordered a size 14 to accommodate fleece/sweater underneath. The size is generous so I exchanged for a size 12, good fit, I’m 5’4″ and the body length and sleeves are spot on. I have worn Gore Tex for years, would never buy anything else for my hiking, and Berghaus always delivers a quality product. Very happy camper.
Brought and this review written by wife .Really happy with this jacket. Good fit for me being a short lady who wears 8/10, allows enough room for fleece under. Love the inside map pocket which I actually use for my mobile as use pockets for dog treats/poo bags. Hood gives good coverage aswell as allowing you to wear hat under and wind proof staying on. Alittle pricer but I got in sale so pleased but think I would have paid full price as think its worth it. I have gone through afew different brand/type waterproof jackets as use for walkies atleast twice a day every day with our 2 mischievous Labradors. We are rural, so walkies are often windy ,wet & foggy, so far this jacket has coped well.
I bought this as I was fed up of coming home from my dog walk wet and cold. My husband has the same jacket and he is never wet so I decided to go for it and buy this (quite expensive) jacket. I’m so glad I did. There are pockets galore for everything you need and the things stay dry – bonus.
Berghaus is a very good brand and I have a friend who has only just replaced his 30yr old jacket. Whether this lasts as long, I don’t know but compared to the so called cheap options from the high street that lasted months and needed frequent replacement I’m glad I went for it.
I would say this size comes up quite small and you need to space to wear a fleece underneath – there is a zip to insert one in too.
Great waterproof. I spent the weekend on the rainy and windy weather and the jacket do the job. I was dry and warm inside.
Only minus is to get to inside pocket. You need to unzip your jacket to open the zip on the inside pocket. Very frustrating in the rainy day.
I shoud take smaller size.
Just the right length too and not a heavy jacket but keeps me warm without a jumper and it’s nearly November.
Just to add size wise. I got a 14 thinking I’d need a size bigger if I wanted to put layers of jumpers/ fleeces on underneath. I should’ve stuck to a 12 as it is quite roomy. So I would say stuck to your original size, you don’t need to go a size up in my opinion. Hope this is helpful.
Looks good, fits well and really happy with this rain coat.
I found I had to go up a size with this jacket as it is quite small in the body. I also found the arms to be slightly to long for me at 5’5
My jacket was exactly how it looked on the website. The size is quite generous but was glad I ordered the next size up to what I thought I would need as it allows for extra layers when it’s cold
Replacing old jacket as zip broke. Quality second to none. Best waterproof jacket i have ever owned. Great style, good fit. Brand well-known in the Outdoor World for Quality.
I love the Glissade jacket, have been wearing it for years. Great length, good styling, internal pocket keeps things dry. I think it’s perfect and the price is brilliant too.
This is my 4th Glissade jacket in 25years. I still have 2/3 of the other jackets, but the waterproofing declines after about 8 years or so. Looked for a different jacket this time, but can’t find anything as good with a roll-away hood.
Great product. Generous cut comfortably allows for base layer & midlayer under.
Could just use a little more ‘shaping’ for a more feminine silhouette.
Worn it for hiking holiday and kept me dry and protected from the wind despite shocking weather!
I purchased this as i was fed up buying ” Waterproof jackets ” that were not fit for purpose , i bought this one as i wanted to get a jacket that had Goretex , this is ideal and warm too would recomend
Just what I was looking for. Lightweight but warm, bit of a longer length which I prefer, especially in winter. Love the adjustable cord around the waist.
I had the last berghaus jacket for years and eventually the waterproofing does go but that’s to be expected after 10 years. They are extremely long lasting. This one is just as good. The jacket is excellent – I think the only small gripe is the fixture to the hood doesn’t have a Velcro fitting, so some water can get in. Love this addition to my walking wardrobe for its brilliant functionality.
Very happy with this jacket.
Quality which you would expect from this brand.
I think it’s true to size.
I know this coat will provide the protection from the elements.
Recommended!
Ordered a 12 as I usually take a Next 14 in tops. However, the 12 was much too big, even with a fleece under it so returned and bought a 10 and it fits perfect. Water just rolls of it too. I know these cost a little more but I had the last one 5 years, wearing several times every day, and it’s eventually not very waterproof, even using Nicwax when I wash it. Considering the amount of wear I give these jackets, I feel they are very good value for money.
Lovely fit, true to size, lightweight waterproof coat. Good zips and zipped pockets. Nice length. I would definitely recommend. I am very pleased with my purchase.
Good fit, I ordered 1 suze up to allow for jumpers etc. Sleeves a little long but vekcro fastener allows them to be fastened tight to wrist. Nice and long too to keep dry.
Roomy, well made and definitely waterproof as I tested it on day 2 in some very heavy downpours! The fact that I got it for well below half the full price is an added bonus.
This jacket is on the large size which allows room to wear a fleece underneath. It is a comfortable style which can be drawn in on the waist. It is lightweight and packs down well in a rucksack. Have not worn it in the rain yet.
I bought a replacement jacket as old one was showing wear and tear in the lining. I have the attachable fleece which is perfect with this new jacket. It’s a good size and cosy with fleece. Good quality.
Completely waterproof and breathable. Deep zipped pockets. Inner zipped pocket keeps keys or a phone secure. Slightly longer length than some jackets which I like. I would like longer tabs on the zipped side pockets to aid opening but this is a minor issue for an otherwise excellent jacket at a good price.
This is a smart looking jacket but as a “pear shaped” female very difficult to opt for size. Tried both 14 & 16 and eventually went with the14 as 16 too bulky around top.(If hadn’t been lockdown I might have tried a different make). Ironically I still have my old Berghaus bought over 20 years ago which fits very comfortably, no issues, and is a size 12 so as they don’t stretch overtime something has clearly changed.
I have yet to try it in much rain but otherwise it does what it is meant to.
I do a lot of walking this jacket is the best …. it is very lightweight, I was very warm and was very comfortable on my ten mile walk . I would definitely recommend this jacke
Really nice jacket and great in wet weather, good waterproofing. Comfortable fit and handy pockets. I wouldn’t class it as warm, it’s a rain jacket, but it’s fine for me.
Very waterproof and lightweight. A brilliant coat for dog walking in Spring/Autumn. However it’s really not warm enough for winter walks on it’s own. So I bought an additional zip in fleece layer, which has made it super cosy and it’s now exactly what I wanted.
Bought this to be protected from wet not for warmth, that’s why I gave 4 for warmth. The coat did an excellent job this week when I had to spend good 4 hours outside – theme park visit & Santa! Driving wind & rain nine stop! Love the slightly longer length.
Great waterproof and windproof jacket. Very comfortable and high quality! Looks smart too. I guess you get what you pay for, it definitley supersedes its cheaper comparisons, however, I do feel it’s overpriced (even in the sale).
You need to be slightly careful about the differences between the Glissade III and the Glissade 1A. The first has a softer, less synthetic feeling outer material, and a slightly slimmer cut.
I live in North East Scotland, with lots of wind and rain, this jacket makes it easy to live here in the winter, can be pulled in at the waist to give a feminine shape, or left lose
Keeps me totally dry in the heaviest of rain. Great quality perfect for hiking. The sizing is a little on the larger side but didn’t mind this as you can layer up. Just what I was looking for.
Great jacket, colour lovely, size true (I’m a size 10 so got size 10) shame zips are plastic now- not sure they will last. Tested in heavy rain and gale force winds- stayed warm and dry.
