Quite slim fitting
This shell jacket does a great job of keeping me bone dry without getting me all hot and bothered. It’s super lightweight so you barely feel it. It also folds away and barely takes up any space making it great for travelling.
For walking in the rain – perfect. Folds up easily and can be thrown into a backpack if weather gets too warm while walking. Lovely colour.

what must say is how lightweight this is, its great to put over another jackets and it very waterproof
Breathes well as Gore-Tex should so you don’t get too humid inside the jacket, and overall is fantastic. I really like how well is packs down and can be easily stowed away in your backpack when not needed, well worth the money as this quality outdoor clothing lasts years.
Brilliant lightweight jacket perfect fro spring or cooler summer days like today when had some rain – gives great protection whilst not being too stuffy and is a nice fit with a little room to breathe or layer underneath you need too and exact kind of brilliant quality as expected from Berghaus so would recommend as very happy with it and is a good price for Berghaus on Amazon too.
The best, the absolute best in outdoor gear! This clothing never fails, it is super comfortable and I do mean super comfortable and it dries lightning fast, this means that I can exercise and perform well and not worry about finishing the rest of my time wearing the top soaking wet.
The top even handles an actual soaking in the lake and dries whilst wearing it in record time.
Super flexible, light as a feather and well made.
The overall quality of the jacket is nothing short of brilliant and it feels really durable. Both the inside and outside material looks and feels premium, the stitching is expertly done throughout, the zips are smooth to operate, and in general it’s a well-designed jacket. There are pull cords around the waist, and the cuffs can be tightened using the velcro straps; you can really isolate yourself from the weather with this jacket!
I chose a size 12 which is my partners usual size and I’m pleased to say it fits her perfectly. The jacket comes down to the correct length below her waist, the arms are the ideal length and in general it’s a nice, regular fit which allows plenty of movement. Its very lightweight and can easily fit in a small backpack if you didn’t want to wear it.
There are no pockets on the inside of the jacket, but you do get two large, zipped pockets on the front which can easily accommodate the biggest of smartphones as well as other extra items. The zipped pockets on the front are covered by flaps which do their best to keep the rain out.
The jacket can be washed on a 30 degree C setting, tumble dried on a low setting and cool ironed. It hasn’t been washed yet, it doesn’t really need it as the smooth inner and outer materials can be easily wiped down and we would only wash it if it became really dirt or smelly.
Overall, we think this is a smart looking, and high-quality waterproof shell jacket that fits really well and is perfect for wearing out when you don’t know what the weather is going to do, and you want to be protected by the elements. The price is higher than a lot of other similar brands/jackets, but you definitely get what you pay for with this one from Berghaus especially as its Gore-Tex, and it should last for a long time if properly looked after. It’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel its easily worth the full five stars, buy with confidence!
I am really impressed with the Gore-Tex as I usually find waterproof clothing very hot but this jacket is lightweight and doesn’t overheat my body at all. It feels surprisingly thin but, although I haven’t yet worn it during a rain shower, I have every confidence that it is fully waterproof.
Measurement-wise, mine measures approximately 42″ across the bust, tapering in to 41″ at the waist and flaring out to 44.5″ at the hip. It’s a flattering feminine fit. Sleeves, as always, are far too long for me but there are velcro tabs that enable you to adjust the cuff tightness (for increased water resistance) and to stop the sleeves from falling completely over your hands.
It’s very good quality as you would expect from Berghaus, and this is reflected in the price tag of 128.49 (at the time of review). It’s the only jacket you will need for outdoor activities as it’s so lightweight and weatherproof. I think it is true to size but if you wanted to wear thicker clothes underneath, then it might be wise to size up.
I am impressed with it and I would definitely recommend this jacket.
There is a zip opening which felt secure and easy to open. There are two zipped pockets which are also handy. There is also velcro at the cuffs to pull them tight to stop water getting in.
Sizing is good (I’m a size 10/12) and this jacket fits as expected. It isn’t too baggy or too tight fitting. I can easily wear a thin jumper comfortably underneath.
Overall the jacket works well as a raincoat. It fits well and I like the extra touches that provide extra rain protection against the rain such as a good sized hood and velcro to the cuffs. I’m very happy with this jacket!
This lightweight womens raincoat is good quality and the material repels water very well. My wife finds this really comfortable to ware especially during the school run when the weather hasn’t been brilliant during early spring so I’ve got absolutely no complaints with this at all.
This is the perfect summer waterproof:
Very lightweight, so easy to carry in a backpack just in case it’s needed
Gore-Tex fabric is properly waterproof, as are taped seams
Gore-Tex fabric is also breathable which you really need on rainy days in the summer to prevent sweating too much!
The jacket is well made, with tidy stitching and smooth-running zips
Adjustable cuffs and hood
I can’t think of any negatives, other than to say it comes up a little on the small/short side, so if in doubt I advise ordering a size up.
This is a very smart and good quality rain jacket. I think it does come up a little small though as I bought 16 for my Daughter who is usually at 12, occasionally a 14. This fits her well but wouldn’t of wanted to go any smalle
I was out with my kids the other day and the weather was lovely and really sunny. It was the same weather we had been having for a week. Then out of nowhere it started training and was raining for the next week. British weather is so unpredictable…
That’s why I decided to order this coat. I ordered my usual size and it fits me well, very nice and flexible, breathable material as well which is good. It is lightweight and great for when it’s not that cold but very wet. The material it’s made from is waterproof as well which is good.
The design of it is nice, and it has a hood which is good. Anything that I have ordered from this brand is of amazing quality and lasts me ages so I have no doubt in believing that this will be the same as well. Highly recommended and good value for a branded coat.
I have the same one for a man and I am really happy about it, so got it for my GF so she could use it in autumn or on hikes or just then going out with the dog. And as always Berghaus provided good quality products worth every penny. As it is really durable I used my one for the past 2 years already so I think this one will be the same long-lasting as the material it’s made of are really durable. First of all the sizing is towards a bit smaller side so if you doubting between two sizes choose a bigger size. The zippers are good and seal the jacket really well so the water will not go through.
It is made from the Gortex which will keep you dry on really rainy days. What I really like and my GF agrees it will keep you warm on colder days but will not you sweat it out. As the material are breathable so it’s good, especially for hikes when start to sweat a bit. As well it will fully protect you from the wind which is essential, especially on rainy windy days when you just want to keep yourself warm. As well it has a hood to protect your head.
The jacket itself looks quite stylish and good not to go for dinner but let’s say to work it would be quite good.
Overall really good jacket for daily use, hiking or just walking the dog. The price is equal to the quality of the jacket so it’s worth every penny.
Berghaus are product leaders for good reason. This jacket does everything that you’d want from a jacket that’s useful up a Brecon Beacon, and also smart and durable for daily wear.
It’s windproof without feeling plasticky, and it’s waterproof, well beyond the amount of water I’d be outdoors with at any rate. It’s very well made throughout, with no faults I can see, which is no less than you’d expect from the brand. The pockets and zips are all smooth to use and sensibly placed, and while there are no special design features or super-pockets that make you think “ooh that’s a good idea”, what’s there is very practical throughout.
The 14 might be quite cosy with a thick chunky knit jumper underneath, but for Summer I think it’s spot on. If you’d prefer a looser fit or you’re expecting to wear it with a lot of layers underneath in especially cold conditions, I’d say go a size up from your normal jumper size.
The grey black design somehow manages to not look too dull, too, though I’m not sure how it pulls that off.
This jacket is going to serve me well and take me up plenty of hills, and I’m extremely pleased with it.
This is a great backpack emergency shell for unexpected downpours in warmer climates. The shell itself is really well finished with good quality sealed stitching and all the panel joints look excellent. The material even when soaking does well to avoid any water ingress and the zips are sealed to avoid driving rain and continuous water. It very light weight and Shen fully sealed, hood up gives an amazing level of water protection. The fit is as expected, but may be worth sizing up if you intend to use over anything over than single item. Great design and excellent versatility for a reasonable cost.
This paclite dynax gore-tex waterproof shell jacket does feel different from my other waterproof jacket. I wore it out in a heavy rainy day. I didn’t get wet at all. The jacket dried in less than 10 minutes probably thanks to the gore-tex technology. It is very breathable to wear when hiking in a drizzling day. I am really happy with the quality and the details. As you can see the zippers are pretty good quality, very easy and smooth to zip up and down. It is also machine washable. Nice colour, true to the size.
This is very lightweight and will fold or roll up very small – it has all the practical things you want: adjustable hood, cuffs, large zipped pockets, but it also looks very stylish and will be perfect in cities as well as in more outdoorsy terrain – the sleek cut looks good with a sophisticated air – it’s shaped to fit well though you might want to size up if you want to wear this over thick jumpers/sweats – machine washable too.

This is by far the best jacket I have ever owned. It looks absolutely stunning and sleek and fits me perfectly. I purchased this using the same size as a T-shirt and found that this fit my chest frame well. I am a 14 for T-shirt’s and hoodies and took a size 14 for the jacket, no issues here. I really love the material used, it is lightweight yet has proven to keep my body nice and warm throughout the windy and breezy London weather. I love just how thin and lightweight it is, as it still does a great job at keeping your body warm and protected from tough winds. Though this wouldn’t really be appropriate for winter weather due to the thinness.
It is a beautiful everyday jacket (especially when you want to walk in the rain) for me and the quality is for sure there. Th material is stitched incredibly well and typically all the Berghaus clothes I’ve owned have last me years, so I have no doubt this jacket will too! There are a few strikingly beautiful colour variations to choose from so I’m sure you’ll find the one that suits you best. Not to mention I really love the subtle details such as the Goretex logo on the sleeve as well as the striking Berghaus logo on the chest. The hoodie is also lovely, covers my head well from wind and is even adjustable from the back. Very pleased, another 5 star product from Berghaus!

Jacket. I recently hiked the Sea to Sky summit trail in Squamish with my partner and we hit every type of weather. We both had on a base layer, a mid layer and then the Gore-Tex Waterproof Shell Jacket as our shell.
We started in the pouring rain and quickly took off our mid layers as we gained elevation. The sun broke at the view point and the hail started. As we reached the summit we came into a full snowstorm which blew past as we ate lunch inside lunch
It has help up in rain and snow so far with no problems. It is the perfect jacket if you want something trimmed down to the essentials and if weight is important to you.
The new fit is a little more relaxed and although the small fit well I went with a medium because I preferred the length and I could add more layers underneath.
I couldn’t believe how lightweight it was, yet it coped perfectly with the heavy rain and hail downpour. It’s incredibly breathable and has ventilation zips under the arms meaning I didn’t overheat.
I’ve also worn it on a couple of really wet days. I’m happy to confirm it’s totally waterproof — even after a sustained downpour I was nice and dry inside, which attests to the garment’s breathability too as I wasn’t exactly hanging around.
Overall, the Berghaus Deluge is a very competent waterproof jacket with the best technology out of all our recommendations. It’s towards the top end of the budget, but they are an extremely reputable brand and this is a great coat. Highly recommended.

this jacket is very lightweight, thin, not feeling bulky; although it’s not as light and flimsy as hyper jackets, but it still could be rolled up and pack small when unused, not occupying much backpack space
it has adjustable cuffs to fit arm length, as well as enhanced weather protection, also good size, long zipper pockets
this size 16 is a good fit for a 5 feet 10 tall lady, athletic build, good cutting to make anyone look slim, but definitely it’s not for petite

The feel of this jacket is very enjoyable; it’s lightweight, is water resistant, is a clean style, the material is airy and cool on skin, whilst being insulating – it provides warmth on windy/chillier days, but is still breathable. There are no embossed designs and the clean, uncluttered feel of the design and ‘goes with everything’ shade means that this will match up well with most clothing – it makes this jacket a great ‘everyday’ throw-on-and-go option whenever you nip out to do something, in addition to it’s intended purpose as a “throw in a backpack & go hiking” practical option.
The stitching is all double, so everything feels all snug and secure – this is a very well-made jacket and the style is highly wearable, which explains the pice.

If you are stuck between not being able to choose between two sizes, I’d recommend going for the larger option – I wouldn’t describe this as being too small in size or anything, but it is close fitting and if you like chunky knits or baggy tops, then the bigger option will be more comfortable of a fit, over those types of layers.
The coat is light weight and made of Gore Tex. It’s has a nice sleek style to it. It’s definitely designed to keep the rain and bad weather out. It has a high neck and hood. The hood can be tightened for a better fit and the cuffs have velcro straps so that they can be adjusted too.
The pockets have zips in order to keep their contents safe and dry. The pockets are a decent size and bigger than I expected. The seams are concealed and the zippers shut extremely close and tightly. and all that helps to stop water getting inside. It’s a good fit and true to size. Because the fabric’s so thin and light, the coat can be folded up quite small so it can fit inside a backpack incase of inclement weather. Despite being lightweight it’s not the coolest jacket to wear. In fact it can get a little bit sweaty in warm weather due to the waterproof nature of the coat. But it’s not too much of a problem, this coat definitely has both style and function.
This is a beautifully styled and made coat which is perfect for inclement weather or for skiing. The design and fit are extremely comfortable and as you would expect for the size (we tried a size 14 and it’s absolutely on point).
There are deep pockets, and the sleeves have a really neat Velcro fastening so you can make it as tight as you need it to be to keep the wind and rain out. It also has a very elegant cut so brings a touch of style as well.
Fantastic Berghaus quality as you would expect. Build quality and stitching are excellent and overall this represents really top quality at a good price. I can absolutely recommend this coat. It is a great addition to your wardrobe.
Usual high quality Berghaus rainproof jacket with Goretex. It packs away into a very small space, making it an ideal companion should rain be in the air.
Looks-wise, it’s quite simple and classic – a no frills design that’s never going to go out of style.
My wife looks very chic with this on, and I’d say it’s suitable for all age groups.
My wife loves this coat. Gortex is waterproof. The fact that it is super light weight means it takes very little space in your rucksack when you are going out for a hike. It’s expensive but very good value for money.
