I installed a rocket stove, which means I need to split my wood all the time, as rockets do not take big pieces. This splitter has worked hard for me all through the winter. Really made it easy on me (not overly strong female).
This is my second log splitter the first I brought was useless and the blade split, however this product is so much more sturdy and splits wood like a dream can take decent size logs and the dimensions it says it splits it really does ( look at dimensions for this on product information within sellers description)

Reasonably price item , it was reduced slightly so I wouldn’t have bought if more expensive. Easy to secure to round of wood and fairly easy to use. Very good for splitting kindling and smaller logs. Only used once so time will tell.
I was a bit anxious about purchasing one of these as after reading reviews of this and rival products there seemed to be a high proportion of negative comments. However this one has been really good – does what it says it would. The secret is to use relatively small logs for kindling – and it works fine.
Great piece of kit makes job easier to make kindling and also splits log efficiently.

It make splitting logs easy but matured hard woods need some force and a good sledgehammer to do the job

Works great. Don’t expect to split large logs like my husband did. It’s more for splitting down for kindling. I used it to split medium logs into strips, they went on top of the small kindling in the log burner. I bought a 3lb lump hammer to use with it as my husbands was too heavy for me. Perfect.

Its quite hard to get a scale to the cutter. its about 40cm when you sit it on the floor.
In essence this is a two in one. It both holds the log you are splitting but also has a cutting edge to the top that allow the easier spitting of logs,
Very easy to use. First tip, don’t use this on concreate, the moment you hit it chances are if its on a slab, the slab will split in two.
Hold the log over the top and give it a little smack so that the log is held in place over the sharp edge.
From there, lump hammer, big swing and it will go through it like a hot knife through butter.
Much easier and a lot less effort required the traditional way of splitting logs, imagine this more like using a granade wtih every split without needing to position it.
