I have not setup the hunting game camera yet. It looks sturdy and reliable. Can’t wait to to setup camera for surveillance.
Trs content.
Excellent camera, have owned 2 previous ones and this is my favourite by far!
A fabulous piece of technology! The images are very clear! Easy to use. However, you cant use rechargeable batteries. That is a heavy-duty issue in my eyes! Other than that, really good camera
I bought this camera after my Spypoint camera stopped working (filled with water after a heavy storm), all I can say it was half the price and twice as good, I wish I had found this one earlier, it is at the cheaper end but don’t let that put you off, for the spypoint camera I had a rechargeable battery pack, I wish I could find one for this camera.
Never had a game camera before but know others who have them. Chose this model based on ratings and reviews and price. We enjoy looking at the overnight pictures each morning and seeing all the visitors to our pasture. Didn’t know what to expect nor have we seen output from other people’s cameras to compare. Seems like a good enough camera for what we wanted it for.
Great quality pictures and videos. We have daily visits from foxes and this way we don’t have to stay up all night. The only negative is the short battery life.
Excellent photos and videos, even at night. Best feature is ability to set PIR delay to zero. Have tried 6 different trail cameras now but with all the others delay can only be set to 5 or 10 seconds so most of the fast moving wildlife we get in our garden is lost, they have passes out of view by the time the camera is activated!
Good battery life plus ability to use external mains PSU or solar battery pack is very useful.
Overall for the price the best trail camera I have found.
Great camera and I love the timer/time lapse features. Great for turkey field scouting and having camera shut off during night saves batteries which would otherwise be powering no flash LEDs!
I bought this for my partner last year and it’s great he is so pleased with it.We have caught alsorts of wild life with it.
The camera is simple to set up and simple to use. Aviod having grass etc blowing in front that sets off the detectors which are quite sensitive as this leads to a lot of blank footage and runs the batteries down.
The camera will work of mails via a power supply if you are close enough to power.
I have managed several captues of these otters both at night and in the daytime as well as the neigbours cat ( not so interesting )
We have very wild weather in the north off scotland an the camera stands up to the wind and rain.
It is a great device for the amateur to find out what is going on in the garden! I have bought a second one to monitor other areas.
Great Value.
good daylight videos, night quality is OK and simple to set up , after sales very helpful.
16Mp photos are still very grainy in night vision. Would be nice to have 120 vs 90 degree field of vision. Daylight videos at 1080P very good but then wildlife stays out of sight then. Has a DC port but no DC adapter provided. An adjustable focal lens would be nice but then that would be too expensive a feature. Very hard to remove protective plastic on PIR sensor and photo lens … ended up causing some minor damage to perimeter. This is a normal priced wildlife trail motion activated camera but I should have paid 50% more to get more.
A little complicated to set but once you get the hang of it this is an awesome bit of kit it’s very sensitive and is pretty much stealth to humans as well as animals ..
I have been using this product now for some time and found that, by enlarge, it delivers exactly as promised. It did take me some time to get the rather fidgety controls working right but once mastered I got the shots and video that I needed. I bought this to see what was digging up our lawn in the middle of the night and yes, I ended up with monochrome stills and video’s of a badger. I later caught cats, foxes and small rodents on there too. When the ambient light is bright enough the results are in full colour but in the dark it reverts to mono lit by the on-board infra-red LED’s. Two things that I would have liked on here: sound and a means by which the exposure could have been automatically modified down when the animals got near to the lights. This always ended up in over-exposed images which spoilt the pictures/video’s. In the recent very wet weather, the lens sometimes misted up, especially in the cold frosty nights, so a special cover might have been nice but the unit was found to be otherwise pretty impervious to the weather. The triggering always seem to work well and as said, it delivered the goods. I can recommend this for all would-be zoologist or folk who like me want to know what is out there in your night garden..
I really like th a camera and functions. It’s awesome that the camera has a dual mode of picture and then video. I highly recommend that u do not set the camera on high sensitivity, put it on normal to stop it from mis-firing. The only reason why it didn’t get 5 stars is because of the locking system. I wish it had the plastic molded so that i can insert the locking cable through the back of the camera onto the tree. This locking system is only on the door. To make it work so nobody could steel it I had to use a small pad lock and then I ran my cable through the pad lock and then wrapped it around the tree. Other than that awesome camera for the price. It’s my favorite camera out of the 4 different brands I bought and have been testing. If “BLAZE” would change their housing mold, I would buy six more tomorrow. Love the quality and the functions. Easy to use and perfect in any situation.
I bought this camera after reading a story in the NYT Magazine recently by a writer whose father had bought a “trail cam.” Hunters use them to find active game trails. But the Times story is about what is called the wildland-urban interface, or WUI, where many of us live now. I was fascinated by the story, and figured my home might be in a mini WUI, so I decided to buy my own trail camera. The Bushnell model featured in the story, however, was too expensive. Instead, I chose this BlazeVideo camera on Amazon, which was about half the price of the Bushnell. I couldn’t be happier with it! It is simple to set up, and it works great. Boy, was I surprised with what it captured! I live in a fairly densely populated San Diego CA. suburb, and I never expected to find this much wildlife outside my suburban home. Maybe a skunk or a lone coyote, but not three our four coyotes at once, and not a huge bobcat. My neighbors were amazed as well. I’ve only had it for a few months now. I’ve acquired three more, too. The attached video shows just a few of what they have captured thus far. (Wait for the bobcat!) Now I am on the hunt for a mountain lion! If I get one, you may hear about it.
It works if all you want to do is capture wild life. I have it aimed at my front door, hoping to get a photo of the person who’s been knocking on my front door in the middle of the night. The rectangular array of red LEDs at the top light up like a Christmas tree so you aren’t going to fool anyone. The person now pounds on the back of the house or on the other side of my singlewide outside of camera range. I could get two more cameras and cover the whole house. At least I’m retired and already get up several times in the night to pee anyway so it’s not as much of a nuisance as you might imagine. Originally I had it set on normal sensitivity and all I got was some nearby branches blowing in front of the camera. I have it set up in a pine tree. You need to set it to high sensitivity to get it to trigger for something about 40 feet away, as my front door is from the pine tree. I was able to capture several cats prowling at night and the neighbor’s little dog that is occasionally let out to relieve itself. I set it to take 3 pictures right in a row and then wait 5 seconds for the next trigger. I got a 32GB San Disk so I can capture over 16,000 JPG photos if I have the size set to 1.6 MB/photo. Rain can trigger it but snow flakes really set it off. I got over 2,500 pictures of snowflakes during the last storm that we had on 1-13-2018. The good news is that although it got down to minus 14 degrees Fahrenheit, that didn’t ruin the alkaline AAA batteries inside that are rated to work from 0-138 degrees. The camera itself is rated to work from -22 to 158 degrees. The first picture I’ve posted is of a cat on my deck. The second picture is the neighbor’s little dog. The third picture is one of over 2,500 I got of the last snowstorm.
Initially, I purchased one of these cameras as I was a little reluctant of the quality and performance of an OFF BRAND name.
Upon retrieval of the first picture check I was very amazed with the clarity and trigger speed that this unit produces. Although the
nighttime pics are a LITTLE blurry you can’t go wrong, in my opinion, with this camera when only spending $70.
I was impressed enough to purchase a second camera shortly afterwards. Both cameras are currently in operation on my hunting
lease since mid summer totaling several thousand images.
Battery life is impressive although I do recommend the Duracell brand. My next visit to the property will be in a week for the 2017 gun
season therefore I plan to check them once again. I would’ve rated this unit at 5 stars but let’s see just how durable they are hanging
for 6 months.
I’ve been in need of a camera like this for a long time. Animals have been getting into my trash lately so I got this camera to figure out what critters are causing me trouble! The camera itself takes 8 AA batteries. Out of the box the camera works great, the manual lays out how to work it and set up the different modes. I got an 8 gb card to hold the files, which are easy to download onto my computer. And the only thing i dont like is its colour/patteran as it doesnt camaflage very well with trees and its not no glows aswell .The night vision mode captures high resolution pictures (it was easy to see the raccoons and deer getting into my trash)! I set up some cages and relocated the racoons and the deer no longer come around so I say the camera has done its job. And for the PRice your paying you cant really go wrong.
This review is Five Star with the price point in mind. The packaging is excellent and contains what you need to set it up the way you want. It comes with cables to direct play to a TV etc.. It does not come with a SDCard, but for the price that is not a big deal to me.
This trail camera takes very good daytime pictures and has all the options you could ask for. The nighttime pictures are not bad as well, but do not match the quality of my 4X expensive Moultrie. All in all, if you are looking for a decent trail camera at a very reasonable price then I recommend this product. For the price point it is unlikely you will find a better camera.
Brilliant camaflauge camera. Very clear video and pictures. Programmable settings are very helpful. Very well built and strong outer shell /casing. 100% waterproof. The battery life last 6 months. Would definitely recommend.
We live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge in VA, in an area that backs up to a national park, so wildlife traipsing through my yard is not unusual. After seeing a large coyote chasing one of my cats, I freaked out and realized that coyote (and other things) might be stalking my animals day and night. So I saw this Blaze Video on Amazon and bought it along with a 32G SanDisk, as it is not provided with purchase. It was easy to set up, and the view screen inside is easy on the eyes, excellent quality video and pictures. So far I have not had to plug into my computer to see. What an amazing product – good value for the price. Was larger and a little heavier than I thought and had a tough time getting it strapped to tree, but once I figured out the problem was me – not the strap, I am an expert at placing it now. Now I will be able to see who and what is coming through my property. I am coming up with new ways to use this – would be very effective at catching human vandals, not just animals. I recommend this if you are searching for the right trail cam.
To my surprise, this camera takes great pictures and it is really HD 16MP settings. The default setting is 8MP. I like this HD picture taking ability at night and day time. My father does like this camera and it should be the excellent one he want for hunting.
The camera does not come with internal memory, so it will not work without a SD (Secure Digital) memory card or SDHC card while SD card recording. Before inserting the SD card into the card slot, please make sure the write-protect switch on the side of the SD card is “off” (NOT in the “Lock” position). The user manual said that its supported memory capacity is up to 32GB, so I just bought a 32GB SD card for it. Note: If you use a card capable of above 32GB, please make sure you test it before putting the camera in use and the manual mentions this thing.
The PIR is also good and up to 65 ft. This function is really good for using at night. When an animal is moving in front of the camera even if it is 65 feet far away, it still could be detected by a high sensitive Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensor, and then captures high quality pictures or records HD video clips automatically. This ability is excellent.
Power ability is not bad. I suggest you use 4xAA or 8xAA high-performance alkaline batteries for the camera. Alternatively, the user manual mentions that this trail camera can run on external (6V/2A) DC power supply, solar power supply etc, but I do not see that the DC power adapter is in the package, only see a DC power output port at the bottom of the camera. I just use the high-performance alkaline batteries for power the camera at prese
