I was concerned about overworking the husband. This is lightweight and EASY to use. The battery comes with some charge and it takes little to no time to fully charge. Our yard and the people next door can be done with one charge and still ready to go. We bought extra line (4) to avoid unnecessary meltdowns when the reel runs low/out.
As a family, we are quite impressed with the performance of this item. The only downside would be the running time which is less than the figure stated in the manual. Other than that, it’s a well made piece of equipment.
Hint for manufacturers/suppliers: some of us would be willing to pay more for the item to be delivered ready assembled. A bit fiddly to assemble and instructions aren’t that clear, but nothing a bit of perseverance won’t solve. Easy to use and does what it says on the tin, and great for getting into those spaces you can’t reach with a lawnmower. Instructions state to wear eye protection: you MUST do this, things fly up everywhere.
The strimmer only has one cutting wire (rather than the usual two) and makes hard work of anything other that light grass.
Battery life and build quality are good, but expected far better performance given the price and that it’s Bosch.
First time I’ve used a trimmer and this does the job fairly well. Its not to heavy and has enough power to cut through some tough thorn bushes for example. Battery life is fairly good too.
So far very impressed as it does everything I needed it to do.
My only small gripe is the battery that comes with the unit has a different charger connection. I can use my older (not that old) batteries on the strimmer but the new battery needs a different charger. It means I need to keep 2 chargers or not use the new battery. Its not the end of the world but interchangeable parts should be interchangeable anywhere, just a bit annoying.
Its a great little unit, lightweight and easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing one.
