I bought this without checking the battery. I have a leaf blower so it seemed reasonable to expect the hedge cutter has the same battery – but it doesn’t. The attraction of buying Bosch was that batteries should be interchangeable at least for garden products
Easy to use with no cable to get in the way, battery lasted for all the hedges with plenty to spare . Charging was no problem. The battery also fits my Bosch drill. Very happy
Feels good to hold and has a nice weight balance. Seems to cut well.
Don’t yet know how the battery life will pan out as mine is new and too soon to tell.
Best battery hedge trimmer I’ve handled without a doubt. Charge lasts forever and batteries can be used in other compatible devices. Bosch was recommended to me by a friend, and I endorse his recommendation.
Lighter & quieter than expected – &, yes, I did have my hearing aids in & switched on – yaay! Bought this item as I had already got the Bosch extendable-reach version, but; although that one is very good at what it does, it’s too awkward & heavy to manoeuvre easily in the confined space between the back of the hedge & the front of the house – will use this one (the extendable version) to do the top of the hedge, & this new one for giving it a short back ‘n’ sides – also, it uses the same battery-pack as the extendable unit – win-win. Nice easy to use piece of kit – would recommend.
Light as a feather so no wrist strain! Excellent value (why such variations in price for same thing?!) Good all round and uses their one battery for all system so already have battery.one snag? My old one had couple of guide wheels so edging was a doddle, this one hovers and relies on my accuracy(good luck with that) it also had a telescopic handle so storage better it also went kaput after a year…but you can’t have everything…. apparently
Got this for cord free spontaneous type jobs. It’s excellent for me, lightweight and portable. It’s not a heavy duty item but didn’t expect it to be. Reputable name. Would recommend.
Good sharp blades don’t jam like some other trimmers.
I find it awkward to hold the trigger when cutting the vertical parts of hedges; Horizontal (i.e. top) parts are much easier. Bosch should add the ability to rotate the blade axis 90 to eliminate this problem.
The reason I chose this is because I have the BOSCH batteries. It does a great job, just the right length.
It does what it says and it does it well. Charge holds very well – recommend this to anyone
Good battery life. Managed a long ten foot high hedge with no problem
This hedge cutter is only really suitable for keeping an hedge in check, a regular trim to keep it down.
If you wanted to lower the height or cut into a hedge, this is not the tool for you. My elderly electric Bosch hedge cutter easily cuts into a hedge so must be more powerful than the cordless one from the same company.
This has decent power for the price, and is very light. However I find it uncomfortable to use due to the design of the front handle. It is fine when cutting the top of the hedge, but for the side it feels very awkward and gives me a pain in my hand / arm due to the unnatural grip
I was mortified when I saw the package was opened and cut in mid section. It looked like someone might have been nosey but didn’t even know how to have a look without damaging the packaging. Long story short, the product is great. It cuts hedges like cutting feathers. It is light weighted and very pristine as one expects from BOSCH.
Thank you for your customer service. Regards
Nice cutters but felt like they needed more heft. I had charged them for 4 hours and were perfectly adequate for hedge but on some of the thicker twigs they seemed to jam
My garden has a hedge that’s about 40 feet long and six feet high and several shrubs of different varieties. To trim them I have always used shears and a new pair had become due. But seeing this Bosch battery powered hedge cutter advertised at only twice the price of a decent pair of shears I decided to buy it instead. What a good choice! It’s lightweight, easy to use and sharp. It easily cuts privett, box and quite ‘woody’ shrubs. I find the blade is just the right length in that it doesn’t overbalance the tool. It also makes it easy to shape shrubs. The capacity of the battery is enough for all the work I have to do and delivers sufficient power without the hassle of trailing cables, extension leads and the inevitable cutting of the power line. I’ve owned many Bosch products and this seems as well made as others. I am confident it will last. If like me you don’t have another Bosch battery product make sure you buy the option with battery and charger.
My Mother had worked her way through many hedge cutters, in the search for something light, as her back it not all that it once was. So I brought her this battery powered Bosch, as I already had several 18v batteries.
Even I was supervised how light the trimmer was compared to others that I have used in the past. It is a good size for many of the tasks that my mother has in her gardens, and the battery life is good to complete a lot of work, for it needs to be recharged.
If you are getting one and a couple of hours is not long enough, I recommend having at least two batteries that you can use.
I have bought and used many Bosch tools, both battery and cored, and I find that the build quality and reliability of all their tools are grand, for the enthusiastic hobbies, weather that be gardening or DIY.
We recently moved house to a house with a hedge. We’ve never owned or used electric hedge cutters before. I was a bit wary of corded versions so opted for this cordless model. I was influenced by the fact that I already have other Bosch devices and the batteries are interchangeable, which to me is a significant benefit.
The hedge was out of control. It’s maybe 15 feet across and had grown to about 12 feet high, so I needed to work with a ladder. The cutter is really easy to use and felt very safe. It is light, and not as noisy as my neighbour’s corded machine. We completed the job on just one charge of the 2.5 battery. It dealt with quite thick stems very successfully although the really thick stuff at the core of the hedge needed loppers. Very happy to recommend this item.
Well made as I expect from Bosch.
I need it for a small Beech hedge and it does the job( struggles with larger twigs)
However I wouldn’t recommend it for a more substantial cutting
The hedge cutter feels light and well balanced in your hands making it easy to use. when I first started the cutter it didnt seem very powerful and I thought it would be hard to cut anything on my hedge other than new growth. My worries were not necessary and the cutter was easily cutting branches up to 10mm. I am very happy with this tool and I like the fact that the batteries fit other Bosch tools. I have wanted to move over to cordless power tools and now I am happy to go with the Bosch system
I’m a 62 year old women I found this quite easy to use but it did get a bit heavy after prolonged use .The battery seems to last a long time I didn’t need to charge it . Maybe it’s me but I didn’t find it that powerful but very quite .my nephew usually cuts my hedge with a petrol cutter with a long extension but I found it too heavy. This would be ok for a reasonable size garden but I’m on an acre 3 sides conifers I side laurels it seemed to cut the conifers easier .I was using it to tidy up what my nephew couldn’t get finished but i don’t think it would be suitable for very thick or tall hedges ( which he cut with the petrol cutter)
