My new favourite hobby is epilating my upper lip and chin hairs. Can be quite eye watering at times! Bought my mum one for Xmas too as I have inherited my moustache from her.
I got this half price so I was very happy about that. It makes epilating really easy and the fact it is rechargeable is a big plus. The charge lasts quite a while too. It’s been the best epilator I’ve had by far.
I felt a little miffed that I had to spend so much money for this but it was a necessary treat for myself to try and battle the effects of perimenopause.
Yes, it’s a bit painful – but ripping hair out of your legs en masse will be! It soon settles down and the results are decent – I let it grow out a fair bit to try to ensure I could get ’em all, and about three weeks later, only a few are sprouting back, most are struggling!
I also used this on my armpits. I would recommend using the cooling glove thingy the first time as this was properly painful – much cursing ensued… It was easier the next couple of times, though.
I bought this product to replace my previous battery operated epilator which was also a Braun but around 10 years old. I found that the AA battery version was not working for me and I wanted a rechargeable one. The design of this unit is good and the head goes clockwise and anti clockwise at a touch of the button. There is also a stand in the box which is very handy as the end of the unit is small and easily toppled when standing in the bathroom cabinet. I am extremely happy with the performance of the product and it is reassuring that I no longer need to worry about having replacement batteries in the house and having to resort to tweezers when none are to hand. You do pay quite a bit more for this rechargeable version but in my opinion it is worth it. I am happy to recommend this product.
I replaced my mains wired epilator with this one and was not disappointed… should have done it years ago!
This is the best thing I’ve ever bought well worth the money, much better them waxing
It’s my first epilator ever. I didn’t want to buy a cheap one. This one is a fab little piece, my legs are not sensitive so it felt like scratching when removing the hair. I’m not ready to use it on my armpits yet! I used a shaver though, I was pleased with effect. The aftermath: legs were smooth for few weeks, I had to deal with ingrown hair because it’s soft and thin on that area of my body. Trimmer also works great. Easy to clean and charge. It would be awesome to have a travel pouch included.
You would have to be made of battleship material to use this…I’m pleased to say iam! Lol great hair removal & lasts way better than shaving!
Bought this shaver to replace my older one of 10 years which had sadly given up. The newer model has lights which allow you to see underneath your legs and pleased to see technology has improved during this time as you can now decide which way you determine the razor to move to remove those awkward stubborn hairs. I’ve used for many years and have always used this brand. Its expensive as a one off purchase but hopefully this model will last just as long as my previous one did!
Love it! Super easy to use, fast and painless . 100% happy
So a lot of reviews put me off buying this as they mention the epilator is not good for those with pcos or thicker hairs. This was not the case for me. Whilst the upper lip stings like crazy it is pretty good at picking up the hairs, you might need to change angles to get them all. But it seems to do the trick. I have not used all the additional items and I really wish you can just get the epilator on its own. Bought in Black Friday sale rather than full price.
I’ve been using this for a few weeks as an alternative to waxing. First few sessions and you know it’s doing its job, a slight pain sensation but nothing drastic. This stops after a while.
Good results, my legs were hair free and smooth for nearly 3 weeks.
I haven’t used it on my face so can’t comment on that but it does come with a guard for facial use.
The battery life is good, initial charge took about 2 hours but it lasted 4 sessions of about 40 mins each. It’s very easy to use and the instructions are clear. The accessories are good too.
If you want to be hair free and can take a little bit of discomfort this is worth trying.
I love the fact that this is cordless, so you can use anywhere and get the best light on the job. Works really well. You might miss a few bits, but I go over my legs once a week (takes 2 mins) and then you don’t miss much!
Was worried about the battery life as I remove hair on full leg area. No need it did the job admirably. This little machine was far more painless than my old one and pleasant (well as much as it can be) to use!
First time trying epilation. I’m already a fan after one use.
It can be a bit sore but the massage head defo lessened the pain while doing my legs.
I had to use the head that gets closer to the skin for under my arms and this experience was a lot more painful. I just had a few seconds break when it got to much to bare tho.
It’s a really fast and efficient way to get rid of unwanted hai
So having had my one and only silk epil from early 2000’s I had to buy a new one when it suddenly died. I bought this Braun silk epil 9 and OMG how much technology has changed compared to my old one. This is sooo good, they way the head moves around your leg and to be honest I can’t feel any pain because of so many tweezers! I haven’t used the shaver option yet but I am sure it will be good too! Recommend for an almost pain free, super smooth skin experience!
Product is easy to hold and easy to use. Good results on hair removal.
I am usually a shaving girl, waxing just didn’t cut it for me, decided to give this a go amd am really impressed, almost painless, really easy to use in shower, good battery life, light is really useful. I have very fine, light colored hair so not sure if it would be as easy with courser hair, but for my legs it was fab. Recommend.
I have tried everything nothing compares to what this machine does .. I am not a person who likes going to beauty saloons .. so this is the thing for me .. can’t compare to anything I have used in the past .. the product is just perfect .. hats off to the creators of this machine you nailed i
I totally recommend this epilator it’s a Perfect facial epilator yes it’s expensive but it’s rechargeable and really does work on fine hair on the face the brush attachment is excellent in the shower for facial wash and I use the cream application head twice a day to make sure my facial scar cream is absorbed properly.
I bought the battery version of this exfoliator and it was no where near the same quality as the rechargeable version.
Absolutely great!!!! There is Always a difference of quality depending on the brand, but I’ve found that this Braun FaceSpa Pro SE912 is absolutely perfect. It uses the “Plucking” motion to remove hair, rather than the shaving method.
It is Less painful than threading or waxing. In fact, I’ve had less redness and puffiness too. There is a bit of redness initially, within the first 2hrs of using this product, but it has cleared up well. Maintenance is a breeze, and I love its little stand.
The face brush is So soft, and the little massager is so worth it.
I’ve used this Epilator to clear up any stray bits from other areas too as I’ve found it less painful to use than the usual epilator.
Bought primarily for the epilator. This works really well on the finer hairs on chin and upper lip, but does not work for the thicker hairs. But with the finer ones gone it has made it easier to remove the thicker hairs with tweezers afterwards. Wasn’t too bothered about the other attachments but the facial brush is great! It’s really gentle and is very relaxing to use, leaves my skin really soft and smooth with a good bright complexion. Hasn’t needed to be charges too often either, use it 4 or 5 times per week.
I love this! I bought this after buying the Braun Silk-Epil 9 as I wanted something that could epilate my face more easily. The brush and toning attachments were an added bonus but they are worth it!
EFFECTIVENESS – It is very effective! My face is super smooth! I use this once per month and my routine is cleanse as normal, epilate, re-cleanse using the brush (to prevent folliculitus from epilation), apply serum and moisturiser, use toning attachment. I find that it’s best to use when I’m not going out anywhere as the redness can last a while (a few hours) and it’s best to avoid applying makeup the day you do it as this can lead to breakouts. The design of this makes it so so easy to epilate fiddly areas and really quick too. Be careful around your eyebrows though…I would only use this between my brows but not above or below as you are likely to lose an eyebrow! The brush is great for gently but thoroughly cleansing and the toning attachment is lovely and cooling and helps your moisturiser sink in better.
COST – It is pricey but worth it in the long run…it will pay for itself in under a year since I no longer need beauty salon appointments. Also, it’s worth paying more for the rechargeable one rather than the cheaper one with disposable batteries. The battery life on this is amazing.
SIDE EFFECTS? – It is a little painful (same as threading), especially the top lip area, but the pain is less over time. Redness can be severe initially (use this while your boyfriend is out lol) but does go down fairly fast. I do breakout a little afterwards (I am very breakout prone though), but I have found that cleansing before and after epilating, as well as regular (2-3 times a week) exfoliation with salicylic acid serum helps a lot. Also, avoiding makeup or clogging products the day you do it is a good idea. Try to use gentle products and if your skin can tolerate aloe Vera gel, that is the best thing to use.
OVERALL – I highly recommend this face spa, it works very well, is lovely to use and because of the extras it feels like a facial at home.
It’s a good devaic easy to use chargeable long lasting battery.
Fast shipping but boxing was little missy not the best packaging. No damages in the devaic only box damage
This took me a few minutes to find out the right angle to hold the epilator but once I had mastered it I was amazed. It is a bit painful around the top lip under the nose area but everywhere else was fine. I hardly felt anything at all around the chin. All the hairs were removed, from long, thick ones to small, fine ones. I am absolutely delighted with how easy it is to use and with the results.
This is a lovely face Epilator, so easy to use, no more hair, I quickly do my face every other day, then once a week, I love it so much I have got my daughter one, she loves it too.
Quite life changing. Great product .. yes it hurts especially the first time but if you need it like I do then you get over the pain for the results.
The extra attachments are super too and can’t say I notice any difference but they make sure I moisturiser. Really nice product and easy to charge etc.
Braun FaceSpa Pro 912
I bought this on black Friday sale for around 65, which was a discounted price. I have been using braun epilators for about 20 years now and they have been excellent. And I am a big fan and advocator of it because I find them genuinely excellent with their products. In this Braun FaceSpa Pro 912, the main feature is the facial epilator, along with it you get a facial cleansing brush and a Microvibration head (for better facial cream, serum applicator).
pros:
– it has a small head and its useful for reaching the moustache area and around the eyebrows.
– used it twice now and the battery life is good.
– the epilator goes in 2 directions, which is very helpful when you’re trying to epilate. The central button determines the direction. With one click it does 1 direction, and then when you click again it goes the opposite direction. This is helpful when you’re epilating the left side of the area and then the right side of the face.
cons:
– the battery operated facial spa costs around 30. I am not sure if its justified to be more than double the cost, just because the same product is mains operated. This is the biggest con for it. And I would understand other buyers reservation in buying this product because of it.
– the microvibration head appears to be a little gimmicky and I am not sure whether it helps put cream on better or soak into the skin better. I have only used it once. I do not see myself using it more frequently.
– I already own a facial cleansing brush from Remington, so this part was of the Face spa was of little use to me, however others might find it useful.
Update September 2020:
I’ve owned this face epilator for about 9 months now. And I have changed the rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. It is definitely gentler on the face than using the Braun epilator with the facial attachment on it. If you’ve never used an epilator then I don’t recommend trying the face first (you should probably try a small part of the leg with a normal epilator first and see how you feel first). Also if you know that your pain threshold is low then I don’t recommend this either. This one gets rid of softer hairs that is normally found on the face. The battery life is pretty good for each charge. I normally use it about 8-10 times before it needs up go on the charge again. But then I don’t spend that much time on the face as I would on the legs.
All in all in very happy with it. Just the price still seems a little steep for what it is, hence I’ve kept it at 4 stars.
Expensive but as a PCOS sufferer with very sensitive skin and prone to eczema i spend a small fortune on facial hair removing products. This took 2 goes first time but for the first time since pre teen years i have no 5 o clock shadow (seriously) and hair free upper lip, chin and jaw line. I wont say it was completely pain free but it was more sting than actual pain.
I am an almost 30 year old with a busy work and home life, time is precious (I don’t know how people with families pack everything in!) and this device is a god send.
I have tried everything, plucking, waxing, hair removal, bleaching and other epilators. This product is fantastic. I have to admit that when it starts up the noise and the speed of the spinning did intimidate me, but once I plucked up the courage to use it, it was fantastic. It’s quick, and doesn’t hurt too much – although right under the nose takes some nerves of steel.
I only have one criticism and that is that the head doesn’t move to be able to angle it, or use it in the other hand (I have been being careful to pull the hairs out the right way). But it does work perfectly well without this
Happy with this and like the fact that it is multi-tasking. Cleansing brush is nice and leaves skin soft and clean. I really like the epilator facility which is effective and easy to us. Would recommend.
I bought this when it was on offer, and got it for a very good price. It’s very easy to use, and very effective. Epilators are painful to use, for sure, but if you wax first, then use the epilator on any regrowth it’s much less painful than going straight in with one. This one only has a tiny epilating area so it’s very good for zipping out specific hairs. I wouldn’t use it on my eyebrows, though, as some people seem to do, as it’s not precise enough in my opinion.
