Bought this to replace my old Braun that must be 20 years old. It works well and is very smooth and quiet compared to my old one. The charging cable is however a disaster as it doesn’t coil up neatly like my old one. However I noticed the three pin electrical connection on the shaver was the same as my old one so problem solved!
Bought for a penny under 50 and 50% off the official RRP, a well made and reliable shaver.
Does the job very well providing me with a clean shave daily. Battery life is good- need to recharge every 2 weeks with daily 5 minutes use approximately.
Overall feel and build quality is good both light and quite well made. Again not as sturdy as older Brauns that I have purchased in the last 30 years but that is how things are these days – cheaply made even for high end quality stuff.
A steal for 50.00- not sure I would pay over 100 for it though.
The ability to flip from a shaver to a foil is very useful. Handy to have it all in one. However, the guard sizing increments I found to be a bit annoying. Thinking of upgrading to one with more choice in guard size. Can’t complain though for the price, it’s very good. Keeps battery life well and shaves efficiently.
I was very pleased with the result of shaving with this particular Braun shaver. It replaced one lost that I had used for years. The difference between the older cutting technology was amazing and so comfortable to use. It’s an economically priced shaver and has no storage case but it has a useful guard ‘cover’.
I’ve just had my first shave using the Series 3 and I can honestly say it was better than expected.
Compared to the Philips Oneblade razor which I have used for years this gives a closer shave and my skin feels much smoother. It shaves in half the time and it’s not as messy.
The replacement heads work out cheaper than the Oneblade as they last longer.
I find it easier to use and cleaning is simple.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for your first shaver.
Easy to use. Charge lasts a long time. Quite gentle on the skin. Not a great shave. Tends to miss bits and needs a lot of perseverance to get a good result.
I can’t guarantee it is not my technique, but the few times I used the machine it never gave me (the expected) clean-shaven shave. I quite like the trim to cut the (couple of weeks) stubble, but I have always found that I still need a razor to get that perfect shave.
I love this shaver. It helps me get a really close shave without getting razor burns/irritation that i would normally get with a razor. I find that i can use it every other day and my skin feels ok every time. The charge is also great and lasts me at least 5-6 full shaves. The grip is also great and feels easy to hold. The only thing i will say is sometimes i struggle to shave around my neck area, but i think that’s more due to the way my hair grows there. Great product !
Bought this for my husband and he loves it. Has all the bits to it so it’s versatile for his beard too. It’s cheaper than his previous one so was a bit dubious when buying but he says it does a better job. Worth the money x
I have used Phillishave for years and thought I would have a change to the Braun, it is not bad to use, but does miss a lot and have to go back time and time again, this may be because of my age and skin, it gets into the cleft of my chin brilliantly.
I bought this for my son who’s only 12 but his moustache came in thick first. It’s been good for his young skin. I wish it had come with a case like the instructions show and make sure you buy a two pin adapter plug as it needs one of those as well. But overall great first time shaving experience!
Have used this product from this manufacturer for many years this latest is my third. Only problem they now only supply it with a continental 2 pin plug which means you need an adapter to use in UK. Thankfully I have kept a UK 2 pin plug from a previous purchase.
My old electric razer gave me very bad razor burn so I bought this as it is advertised as good for sensitive skin. So far I am very impressed as I get no razor burn and a much better and closer shave. The only negative is the battery as you only get 45 minutes run time on a full charge
I bought this as a present for my husband but I was very disappointed that the box was such a mess because it seriously detracted from the pleasure he should have had in receiving it. I’m not sure where it came from but there was some horrid waxy substance around the top of the box which I had to scrape off. Luckily the contents of the box appeared to be unharmed but when receiving a gift the presentation is important. Now, as far as the razor goes, he is really pleased as it moves over his very sensitive skin effortlessly giving a very close shave without any damage. He likes the feel and substance of the shaver and over all is very pleased with it.
Im not sure if its just me but when it comes to an electric shaver this is usually what comes to mind – my dad’s ran this all his life, I’ve ran them all my life, and my nephew has the same – we all tend to get a good few years out of them trouble free, a couple of replacement foils over time then replace the whole unit.
All in all, perfectly good electric shaver that won’t break the bank as its simply always reduced, but isn’t cheap/weak either.
Very powerful and always has enough battery to do a full shave. The beads are easily changeable can switch them very quickly. Cleaning is relatively easy. Will need to be the adaptor for it but the product itself is it’s all round very good
I bought this razor for my husband, as he finds it difficult to shave with a blade. It is really easy to use and my husband is very pleased with it.
Does what it claims to do ,I am used to series 1000 so larger size takes time to get used to.
I am prone to razor rash and bumps and usually have to shave my face pretty slow to avoid it with a straight razor, this is an issue if i have an outting or have to go work quickly. This shaver gets the job done and gets hair down just enough to look clean while avoiding razors bumps, I switch between the foil and the regular steel clipper.
It holds charge really well and is easy to carry around.
For my heavy beard Braun are the best shavers available. This model has the best trimmer function of any Braun I’ve ever owned. The cutter blades last well, which is good because replacement parts are quite hard to come by.
I have not owned this shaver for very long, but so far I am really pleased with it. The battery life is excellent – I can shave several times off one charge. The shaver attachment gives a close shave and is very efficient. I like a pretty short beard and the no. 2 attachment achieves this perfectly. Without this attachment, I can easily “tidy up” edges etc. It is very easy to use in every way. I think this was very good value.
I’ve only had this a month or so. There are more expensive, worse quality Shavers out there. It’s a minefield of subjective experience and mixed reviews! There are many different versions of this razor. It doesn’t have a pop up trimmer like the old ones (which lasted for a over a decade). Functionality is fine but cut is not always super clean. Buy on fairly deep sale only.
I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks so I can’t really say
I purchased it after researching, and I had a small budget. The battery life is acceptable. It stays for two shaves for me and takes about 15-20 minutes for every round. It is pretty good with sensitive skin, and I have no feelings of irritation after the shave(compared to my old Philishave). I liked the trimmer.
However, the shaver itself is not that strong, and I don’t recommend it to people with solid beards.
As I had an older version of this shaver, I decided to stick with the maker I know
The variety of combs included was impressive and they are interchangeable with my older one and both chargers fit them.
The new shaving head performs well enough, but I have to make several passes to get a close shave without cream.
It is convenient to shave before I get up and shower in the morning.
I’m not one for reviews but thought I needed to for this product. I’m tired of spending stacks of cash on razors, it was getting to the point that it was irritating my skin I was shaving that much. Cheap razors do a poor job. So after yet another sore shave I thought why not look into an electric one. I left my facial hair to grow for a few days as this was on order, I unboxed it and thought what the hell. Tough first test 3 days growth and this thing just ate it up. Fair enough I thought but then for the neck hair, could this do a decent job on that. The answer was yes. For 30 ish quid it is a bargain. Seriously I cannot believe the job this does for the cash. My face is as smooth as with a razor, it’s quick and easy to do. I am astonished that at 40 years old I have not tried this earlier. I will not be going back to wet shaving (unless it’s a wedding situation or such). I will get another of these when this finally breaks. It’s well made and for the cash is a steal.
very similar to 3080s which I had for several years but whose battery life became useless – the foil is exactly the same in appearance and interchangeable but the foil on it’s own is 20+.
I’ve owned Brauns and Remingtons before and I’d agree with other users that this Braun doesn’t cut that close that easily – it doesn’t work very well on long hairs and you need to pass over several times to get close. However I have quite sparse hair and like that it doesn’t irritate my skin much even after several passes so I can get a close shave and I’d rather that than spend less on an unknown brand that might irritate/cut my skin.
There’s no difference between this and the wet & dry – no reason at all why you can’t use this wet which will be more comfortable and allows a closer shave IMO.
The one stupid part of the design is it WILL switch itself on if you put it in a bag/suitcase.
Not sure of battery life yet.
