Bought this printer for crafting at home. It’s great as it’s wireless and it’s easy to print things from a phone or tablet. Being able to print in A3 means it’s suitable for a variety of purposes. The print quality is great and I’m realty enjoying using it.

Great machine on a relatively small footprint compared with some other A3 printers.
Works well on all modes including with an iPhone, however I still cannot directly connect to it successfully with the recommended Android App.

Needed this quickly, as older MFC J5330 dw printer given to relation whose canon printer had packed up.
Delivered in two days. So easy to set up (1/2 hr) including all driver and application updates. Very simple instructions to follow. What I like about this printer is the 250 sheet paper tray which can hold A4 or A3 paper. Very pleased with this printer and Amazon’s service.

    Great all rounder A4 / A3 printe

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was in need for a more business orientated printer that could print at the quality I required and do it quickly. So far the MFC-J5740DW has delivered. It’s the fastest inkjet that I’ve owned, which is a big plus for me as I’m using it in a production chain. The quality is well within my expectation, able to print small enough details that are only visible with magnification. Having three paper feeds to choose from is also useful as I can have letter paper, matt photo paper and glossy photo paper primed and ready to go.

The elephant in the room is the reliance on genuine cartridges and the costs involved, but we all know we’re getting subsidised hardware that we pay back slowly. For me, this printer is worth it.

I can’t speak to the wifi and printing from phones etc, as I have mine on a LAN. Network setup was simple. It is a little on the heavy side, but you can expect that from a printer this size.

I’ve included a couple of pics of some of the printed media bonded to some pine board for scale building construction.

In summery it’s a great printer for my needs and I would buy one again.

    MFC-J5740DW Ticks all my boxes

Guess time will tell but is quick compared to old one. It actually scanned 42 pages in one batch only suppose to do 35
Saving so much time from manually scanning papers one by one
    No complaints here

Love this printer. Had been struggling with an HP Officejet pro for a year and it gave up the ghost due to me supposedly using non-genuine HP ink (codswallop) and it needing servicing.
So easy to set up and use. No airprint, but I can live without that. Ink is so very much cheaper than HP as well.
One word of warning I went with a bundle that included an extra set of ink (black being the extra large capacity). Needed to replace the ink today and so cracked open the extra ink that came with the printer bundle. The cartridge got jammed as they were not the correct cartridges for this particular brother printer. Luckily managed to remove it without damage to the printer. I know I should have double checked, but just assumed.

The product is fine, registered and set up ok but not yet able to redeem the cashback offer. Hours on the phone to lots of people over several days. I appear to be missing an email from Amazon with a promotion code to redeem the offer but no-one seems to be able to help me.

Finally decided to try a Brother as have thrown away many short-lived HP, Canon and Epsom’s. Ordered from Curry’s (UK) Jan 3 for Jan 4 delivery. Jan 5 and Jan 6 had 3 web chats to India I realised Curry’s is just lying to me on when it will be delivered for in-store collection. I heard anything from it’s on the van and delivering tonight to it’s being delivered between 2-3pm today which I told web chat India it was 5pm. Reminded me of furniture123.com where they don’t actually have the product in stock but sell it like they do. Amazon is reliable (much like Costco and John Lewis) and got it in 2 days.

I found this printer very easy to install. The only trouble was finding the password which like our wifi hubs it’s on the back of the printer which the instructions didn’t indicate. Print quality is great so far. And wow this prints faster than any other home printer I’ve had before.

Fingers crossed this lasts more than a few years unlike the predecessors which seem to be just throw-aways.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe’re replacing our MFC J6250DW which just died on us mud print. With a 4-1 option we can fax too which is still gandy today. Fast double sided printing, set up your Brothef mobile print app & you’re away.
With Windiws just scan to your network to add printer unless you download the zip file to manually do this via Brother.
It’s quite straight forward & this is our 3rd Brother in 20 years & reliable as ever. Previous one was 9 years old & we bought from the warehouse too.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have been using an earlier version (MFC-J5370DW) of this printer for over 3 years and really loved it . . . until recently when it developed an ‘unblockable’ blocked Black ink jet., perhaps due to the inexpensive compatible cartridges I had been using throughout (advertised as “Will not affect your warrantee”). As I was in the middle of quite a large print run that needed to be completed I immediately ordered a replacement — at 279 it was easier than sending it back to Amazon and trying to reclaim on something that could be considered my fault. Next day the shiny, white replacement arrived (the MFC-J5740DW) and, so far, I’m loving it just as much as its predecessor. Apart from the colour I can’t see much difference between the two — except that, of course, the new one won’t accept my stock of cartridges that were used in the old one.
I won’t list all the features that the printer possesses – they’re all in the product description — but the ones that stand out for me are:
The rear feed which is very accessible and handles anything from envelopes, 6″x4″ glossy print paper up to A3.
The two paper drawers which save messing about when I switch from cheap, everyday paper to quality colour print paper.
The fact that it has automatic 2-sided printing and scanning. The latter feature is great if you want to save old documents on a drive rather than in a box file. You just put the pile of documents into the very smooth automatic feeder and get a digital copy of both sides saved as separated pages in the right order. The supplied software that handles this includes outputs in pdf, png, and OCR formats.
I belong to a club for which I produce an occasional newsletter. I design this in Publisher on A4 pages then tell the printer to turn into an 8 page A5 colour booklet. The first time I did this it was accompanied by a bit of swearing before all the pages were correctly ordered and orientated but having saved the print instructions I’ve used the same ones year in year out and just sit by while the printer churns out the required copies.
Setting up the new printer was just as easy as for the old one. There is a decent screen which tells you what to do initially and also shows what to do if there is a (rare) paper jam. Connection to WiFi happened very simply once iI entered the router password.
If the printer has a fault for home-office use it is that is quite large and heavy so you need to be sure you have somewhere to put it and also allow up to an extra 6″ or so for the rear feed which angles out from the back when in use.
In summary, this is a great workhorse for small businesses or the more demanding home user.
