My Wi-Fi became faulty and was replaced by the new digital system currently being installed. My landline is now plugged into the router so I need an answerphone with several slaves this one fits my needs well. I’m 90.
Purchased from Toronto Canada because the Panasonic KX-TGH720E Cordless Phone is not available in the USA or Canada. Am really interested in the function of blocking all calls except those in my Contacts which is not available on any unit in Canada. Have on issue with the cable from the phone to the Canadian wall receptacle. It is totally different (UK) opposed to the Canadian wall receptacle. Need to change the cable end which goes into the wall but can’t find anyone to do it or a converter. Will continue setup before attaching to the Canadian wall receptacle.
The majority of the Canadian latest Panasonic phones have better and easier customer handling features,
the Panasonic KX-TGH720E not so much. Just my opinion.
Ir was a replacement for an outdated system in the house. It was easy to choose what I wanted and I was able to put the new system in my house. Delivery from Amazon was quick and instructions easy to follow given that I am an 82 year old lady and disabled. Thank you Amazon and BT.
Really good phones. They do everything as described and easy to use.
Does everything the BT8600 did, but doesn’t have a colour screen, but it does have easier to change batteries which may have been part of the problem we had with the 8600’s
Easy to use phones, bought for the block feature as the person who it was bought for is elderly and was getting so many scam calls. Programmed all her contacts in so she knows who is calling and not to answer numbers not recognised.
Work well but the phones easily fall from the base, could do with being angled more
Recently replaced an older version of the same phone. It’s brilliant for avoiding scam or cold calls. The only downside is the panel on the newer version is not easy to see due to it’s pale contrast even if you turn this to high, unlike the older version that was crystal clear.
I’m used to gathering contact information as immediate. With this handset there is a slight delay. Sound quality not as good as my last phone.
It suits my needs but no more
Very good phone for preventing unwanted calls. Any number not programmed into phone will be intercepted and caller asked to identify themselves. Would like a louder ring tone on the phone and answerphone only flashes when message left, previous phone bleeped as well.
I would have given it 5 stars but it is so light that you’ve only got to slightly touch it and it falls to the floo
Good call clarity, easy to use for making and receiving calls. The number of options and facilities makes it a bit of a faff set up initially.
This didnt work out bad as most of those seperate devices are knocking around 50 quid mark for decent features. Once the phones were setup and phone numbers entered (thats the painful part), it at least shares any updates to numbers with each handset.
Good news is now when I’ve checked the phone occassoinally, I see its done the job and blocked calls with not even a murmur, so no more pesky scam calls with witheld numbers or whatever. If the number is in the phone, it goes straight through and if not, it asks them to name themselves before ringing and gives you the choice of answering, voicemail or simply blocking.
I reckon if you have older relatives who get stressed with these nuisance calls, this would be a great investment in making their day calmer!
Overall good features, and usability. Sound is fine (slightly hissing sometimes, but you get that with even the best dect phones), so happy I got them.
Everything is included in the box to use it straight away.
The only disappointment with the one I purchased, which was advertised as new, is that it was clearly used / refurbished. There was evidence of dust or buffering powder on it, as if it’s been polished up. There were also slight scuff marks on it from use, which match up with the lines of the dock, plus a big scratch on the bottom of the base. Had I wanted a used one, I could have ordered it for half the price.
I was bombarded with nuisance calls (even if my number was not public). Sometimes at 4 am!
Even if I’ve registered for TPS they still called me and ignored the TPS service. And when i started losing my patience with nuisance callers, at times, it felt like they were passing my number to colleagues just to annoy me on purpose…I’ve then enquired if I could change my number and my operator advised me to buy one of these phones. The adviser said that the nuisance callers will probably call the new number too…because they have computer generated software, and the only way around it was buying a blocking phone.
When someone makes the call, she/he needs to announce herself/himself and it’s normally the nuisance software that does that automatically. However, because their software is not able to push buttons as advised, their calls won’t go through.
And if the nuisance caller calls himself, he is then told to announce himself, and they give up before making the call.
I’m really happy, no more nuisance calls since I’ve bought this.
The only downside is that you need to make sure you press the right button when you get a phone call announced, otherwise you refuse the caller and it goes into voicemail.
I had a perfectly good pair of cordless BT phones – perhaps more expensive than these when purchased – but decided to replace them solely because of this phone’s call-blocking facility. I had tried stand-alone blockers, but struggled to get them to work (maybe my Virgin line, maybe the age of my previous phone) and receiving as many as a dozen nuisance calls daily was really getting me down so much I’d contemplated cancelling my landline (but when you’re on a “package”, it’s often a more expensive option). It’s done everything I wanted it to – easy to set up and allow those calls you want to receive, all others intercepted. You can see the failed calls – and decide whether to block the numbers forever or to allow them in the future. Peace now reigns once more! Just a couple of minor issues. First is using at any significant distance – or at a wall’s separation – from the base, when the phone begins to search, but I’m happy to live with that. Second was that the small blue light on the second unit was unacceptably bright on my bedside table, illuminating the room – easily solved with a small piece of black insulating tape. If you’re wanting to tackle a similar problem, at a reasonable price, I’d recommend.
