Picture not the best quality but was the most recent lol. I adore this grill/pit. I was in the market for a raised fire pit and figured why not get the combo grip idea. I have had both firewood bonfires and charcoal grill outs with this magnificent tool and the ash catch is awesome! It does it all, I highly recommend!! The set up is so easy and the parts fold up so small in a neat bag, this was worth every penny!!

The stainless steel material is very good. The whole product can be folded and packed in a 10cm depth fabric package, which is provided with product. Very easy to clean. Wonderful product. Worth the money.

Wanted something for camping that didn’t take up much space as I may not use it every time – but when you want a fire, you want a fire! Great design – I have a fire pit/grill that can always be there when wanted without taking up valuable space

Initially bought a firesense notebook grill (cheap, annoying to clean ashes, factory smells from paint) which I returned and fortunately paid the extra for this and the foldable chimney (larger version). Fits perfectly, easy to setup, use, and clean thanks to the ash pan. Seems to produce better heat zones as well. Firesense charcoal grate isnt flush with side panels so if you pour hot coals from chimney incorrectly you’ll be fussing with getting the grate leveled if it falls down one angle. This one folds up nicer, definitely more premium and seeminglh longer lasting parts. 3 cooks in and its become my favorite grill for short camping trips and quick backyard cooks for family of 4.

Brilliant bit of kit. Perfect for camping when space is at a premium. Easy to set up and use.
Easy to clean afterwards and the handy little carry bag means it takes up no space in the car. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m so happy I made this purchase! This was SO easy to set up took 30 seconds. Its super sturdy and well built. Very roomy , was able to fit 3 fire logs and have a full size fire that burned all night long. Clean up was easier than expected also. We used oven mits to dump the embers out and the fire pit itself only took a few mins to cool down and be packed away. Super easy to put away and all fits nicely in a small compact bag. I leave it on the floor of my back seat. Def recommend!!! 10 stars

I love how compact and easy to use this brie is. Makes a BBQ dream and actually you can fit a decent amount of wood/charcoal in it. The vents at the bottom made it easy to start, I never use fire lighters or liquids to start our bries anyhow. Haven’t yet used it on grass but on dry soil it didn’t seem to leave any burning or marks underneath. Relieved i finally got a compact, good sized BBQ!

It’s heavy compared to my previous grill but i liked the design and looks durable. Haven’t tried it yet due to fire ban but will update my review once I start using the grill.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersJUST A HEADS-UP, IF YOU PLAN ON COOKING 2 STEAKS ON IT, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO DO IT. THEY WERE TRUTHFUL ON THE SIZE. I USE IT CAMPING BY MYSELF. I DON’T CARRY CHARCOAL AROUND ANYMORE. I COOK OVER WOOD AND IF IT STARTS GOING OUT I ADD A FEW MORE STICKS. IT IS SURPRISINGLY STURDY FOR ITS SIZE. IT’S NOT THAT GREAT IN THE WIND BUT NOTHING IS. I LIKE THE COMPACTNESS. IT’S A LITTLE TRICKY GETTING IT BACK IN THE BAG SO REMEMBER HOW YOU TOOK IT OUT. EASY TO SET UP AND EASY TO GET IT CLEAN.

Just returned from a five day beach camping trip using the medium fire pit every night in harsh Australian weather. I can confirm it works a treat – kept four adults warm of a night, and folds down to a very small size fitting neatly in the sturdy carry bag. Unfortunately I’m yet to use it for cooking.

The surfaces that touch fire do discolour which isn’t an issue for me but might be for some.

All in all I am very pleased and impressed with this portable fire pit for a fraction of the cost of more well known and bigger camping brands.

Medium fire pit did the job!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this little grill/fire pit. It arrived just before my camping trip that ended today. I used it twice to grill burgers and hot dogs. I collected small twigs and branches from the campground and that’s all I used to cook with. The small twigs burned quickly to get the fire going and the larger ones lasted just long enough to cook my food both times. To keep this going for long periods you need to have a lot of small limbs ready to constantly feed the fire or a bag of charcoal to add to it. I ordered the grill lifter to use when it was hot to adjust it up or down. That was a good addition. Again, overall I’m happy with the product and how small it breaks down to store. I’m going to bring it on my next motorcycle camping trip.

I’ve used it a handful of times since receiving it a few weeks a go. It seem to be sturdy enough without weighting too much. Seem very balanced of weight and sturdiness. The carry bag seem nice, but the interior lining split, so i had to use glue to fix it, but was a minor issue. The grill is a solid investment and I am sure I will use it for many bbq and camping adventures to come.

This one really shines from med to thick steaks.

For sausages, burgers and veggies, you need to wait for semi ashed/grey charcoal. The charcoal sits very close to the grill and the grill height options are limited. All in all, very similar to a hibachi.

Also, although the grill height can be adjusted, and the mechanism is quite good, it is hardly enough to give you any meaningful control unless you are towards the end of the burn.

Finally, beware that it sits close to the floor. Sparks and flint can easily touch the surface it’s lying on. We got a small damage to our outdoor table and I did step barefoot in a hot charcoal when cooking over grass.

I would not recommend it: For thick bone meats, large pieces, or longer cooks. Not enough control.

As a reference, you can cook up a tomahawk on it, maybe two at a time if the bone is not too long. The general technique is to sear faster close to the middle and then move the meat to the edges and let the bone/fat part cook on high.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a cool portable grill. Easy set up (it came with an English copy of instructions and safety warnings). It has manufacturing residue on it. Good to clean before use. Fits nicely in the provided travel bag. I got the medium 14″ size. Perfect for me and a couple friends. Weather cleared enough to try it out. A bit breezy.
I don’t think I’d ever use this as a portable fire pit, just as a grill with charcoal. Though I had no issues with sparks blowing out of the ash tray, I wouldn’t use this in the open without a campground fire ring (nor on a plastic or wood table). And I didn’t use a lot of coals. It did burn out and cool down pretty quick. Im sure after a few more uses it will be pretty dirty and discoloured, but not too bad first use. Nothing warped, folded right up. Wood would be considerably more dirty, as it has sap and much dirtier than charcoal briquettes. I spray my grills with pam (the only thing I use that stuff for).
The grill just sits on top loosely at the lower position. Nothing holds it in place so it can slide around a little. Thus only four stars. And that height was good for searing a burger patty. Having oiled the grill I had no problem flipping the patty without holding the grill. But if stuff sticks might need a glove or something to hold the grill if hot.
After everything cooled down clean up was relatively easy. I put a trash bag in the travel carry bag to keep inside cleaner. All good. Burger was too… I like the finer grill (small gaps between) so smaller things, and for shrimp and fish.
And the folding. That’s why I like it. I have lot of grills etc, but they are bulky to pack for trips.
    So overall pretty cool.
Follow up: I’ve taken this grill camping a few times now. Having used it about six more times with regular charcoal briquettes I am still quite pleased with it. My main concern was that it might warp with a lot of heat. Not at all. Of course it’s a bit discoloured, but it folds up and packs away like new. Easily cleaned. I put a small trash bag in the carry pouch to help keep it clean along with a small grill brush and a pair of leather gloves. Quite satisfied. I’ve cooked burgers, steaks, and salmon. All came out great. Friend’s comments, “Oh that’s cool”, etc…

    Cool Q

Just received it, not used yet. But what I received was beyond what I expected. Million times better than UCO bbq fire pit (it is worthless in comparison to this in design, quality material, construction, safety measures and above all usage/practicality). This is what I received, far greater than what is described.

*Support legs were constructed not using pipes but 5mm thick (yes 5mm) SS rods. Smooth folding in well constructed hinges (no play at all, and no sharp edges too)
*Ash tray is heavy cannot measure the thickness due to edges were folded for safety, can say thick steel with 3mm thick handles. It is also large and deep enough to capture ash as much as burnt out charcoal. 20cmx20cm (almost 8in) 7mm deep.
*Fire place is made of 1.10mm (0.045 in, thicker than advertised) and all ends are folded. Excellent hinges too. Bottom opening to ash tray is 9.5cmx10cm therefore the ashtray can capture all falling debris
*Coal bed is 17cmx17cm frame made with 5mm steel wire and the web 4 and 3mm steel, firmly welded and all edges smoothed out!
*Grill is very spacious 34cmx35cm (exactly as described) again with 5mm perimeter supporting wires and 2.25mm inner steel wires. Hinges are solidly made only to open to 180 degrees, and locks up. I could place 2.5L camping cast iron kettle fully filled with water without noticing any stress on the hinges!!! Easily cook meals for two very hungry adults.

I have and used a UCO regular (13 x 10 inch) fire pit, which I now consider useless, in quality, practicality) Yes this one is a Chinese company, Chinese brand and fully made in China for which I paid almost A$ 47.00 worth the money in comparison to useless UCO which cost me nearly A$ 100.00.

MT-2 version is well designed and engineered, very practical, user friendly even though it has many components to assemble, well made using excellent quality thicker material. Came with a nicely made, including stitching (I think it is made of canvas) carry bag, brand logo too is well placed and well stitched without any lose ends. But sadly for such a well made item, it came in very cheap flimsy bubble wrap bags. I bought another which is on they way before the price goes up. I hope this company and brand name “CAMPINGMOON” will not disappear like many other excellent new Chinese start up companies have done before.

This is very heavy, more than 3.5kg (much heavier than UCO regular) not to be carried in a backpack unless someone wants to. Again 5 stars all the way for this excellent product for A$ 46.66. Highly recommend without a hint of doubt.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was sceptical at first. But hey I’ve put this thing through the ringer, wood, gas, charcoal and pretty much everything you can think of for uses that it would be put through. This grill held up and has not warped in any section.
It’s a breeze to put together and get completely set up.

The only thing I would complain about is the grill rack. Trying to add coal or wood can be kinda tricky if you don’t have a good grill glove or the grate tool that they offer from the same company as the grill.

Overall I’m very happy with the purchase and would buy again but it’s built pretty darn good so I probably won’t need one for a while. This is already attached to my ILBE pack and ready for my adventures through the back country.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGoing for the look? It won’t stay pretty after using it the very first time. The stainless steel body turns brownish once exposed to the heat. But if you are looking for a great value for money, this is the product for you.

    Pros:
Dual use – BBQ + Fire pit
    Extremely lightweight
Collapsible and fits into a small bag for carrying
Great design that allows for proper air circulation that’s needed to keep your fire going
Ash tray at the bottom is a great addition that catches all the dust.

    Cons:
Body is made of extremely thin metal and can bend with slightest pressure
Not big enough for cooking unless you take the extra large size.

Overall, a great product for the price point. Would recommend it for anyone who likes to travel light.

Shiny look will go away after first use but great value for money
