I got the 18/400 Tamron lens but it’s for a crop sensor camera so in reality a 24/620 mm . I also got the converter but hated the way that worked . So I got this camera so I could the lens . once I learned that there is a quick mode it works well.
Came intact and boxed.
Brand spanking new and all appears to be in great working order.
Upon delivery a password was required to ensure that it actually got delivered to me which put my mind at ease that this product wouldn’t get lost.
Arrived on time and well packaged. The item was as described by seller (returned with minor damage to box – camera/contents as new). Really happy to get what I’d been after for less money and would definitely recommend!
Really easy for start to mace your first shot and Learn how is working all machine
I purchased this as a gift for my girlfriend and the feedback she has given is pretty good so far.
A super dslr for beginners, intermediate and more.
I am well impressed with this camera. I have had Canon Powershot cameras in the past and even though I am only an ametuer I wanted to upgrade with being able to attach different lenses and also stick with canon. So after chatting to a friend who knows a lot about Cameras and told me the differences of this one and my Canon Powershot SX430 this was the idea choice
Brand new camera, absolutely amazing comes with battery and battery charger. Not a single complaint I highly recommend, amazing for beginners and professionals. If you are thinking about purchasing I say go for it with no doubt about i
I needed a low cost DSLR with high megapixel count and very good picture quality (I take stills only). Canon EOS 2000D meets my expectations. Speaking of picture quality, it’s identical to much more expensive models. I give it four stars only because I know that there are better, but much more expensive models.
Pros:
– Great value / price ratio
– Excellent image quality. If you need a 50 x 75 inch blow-up to hang in your reception room, this camera is the right tool for you.
– Great battery performance
– Relatively small and lightweight
Cons:
– It’s not a ‘top-of-the-line’ DSLR model
– Looks and feels somewhat ‘plasticky’. Definitely not a design stunner.
– Kit lens is not great (but it’s a common thing among DSLRs; a set of lenses is highly recommended. Changing focus lenghts is THE reason why people buy DSLRs. Get a macro/portrait lens, a telephoto lens, and a wide-angle lens. Or a superzoom if you’re a lazy person, but you’ll lose something of the great picture quality.)
All in all, if you’ve been used to mobile phone cameras so far, you’ll be astonished with the new views on the world this Canon DSLR will open to you.
I bought the EOS 2000 to replace my 12 year old EOS1000 and I’m not disappointed, controls are all familiar and simple to use with the addition of wi-fi and a super 24 megapixels giving great quality pictures especially in low light. Delivery from Amazon was next day so very happy.
I’m just a snapper, a hobbyist.
I had to replace my trusty old KM Dynax 5 and had dithered for a a while because camera technology has moved on so much since I first bought it.
I eventually settled on the Canon 2000D. I’m not disappointed! It has a nice reassuring weight in the hand and the grip is comfortable and easy on my hands that are showing the first signs of arthritis!
I did make the mistake of not purchasing an extra battery, but that’s easily remedied.
Very happy with my new camera!
Having had experience, in my younger days, of manual SLR’s I thought I’d give photography another go and maybe try harder this time at being creative. I did a few days research before deciding to give the Canon EOS 2000D a try. It appeared to have all the features, I thought, I needed at a reasonable price and I knew Canon usually turned out a solid piece of kit. So far, I’ve not been disappointed. The build quality is very good and it’s one of those ergonomic designs you just can’t stop looking at. That may sound weird to some but, when I’ve just purchased something I’m going to be using for few years, I want to enjoy handling it as much as creating some nice images. This Model is regularly described as “Entry Level” and a “Good starting point for DSLR’s” frankly, I disagree. Yes you can start to point and shoot straight out of the box but this piece of Kit can definitely grow with you to the point where I, personally, don’t really see myself venturing far beyond.
Just a couple of tips before you buy.
1. Do research which Canon models have an Image Stabilizing lens(IS) as standard. You’d be surprised at the number of sellers who fail to make this clear in listings. You may end up spending more than you need if you don’t do this.
2. Do invest in The “Dummies” guide which you can also purchase on Amazon. The Camera only comes with the bare minimum of setup details and there is no way you will fully understand all the buttons, setup screens and huge amount of features without sitting down with this guide/manual and taking the voyage of discovery at your own pace.
All singing all dancing camera, heavyweight not for girls a great all rounder for the money, get it for 689 sold by Amazon, some dealers selling at 1000+. To complicated for beginners,if you have no basic knowledge of photography and camera settings it’s not for you.
Really good camera for a beginner . Bit complicated to use , but that’s part of the fun – it’s about learning. I’ve learnt a great deal about this camera already and am continuing to learn ! My only disappointment about this purchase is the lens . When I bought the camera it was advertised as 18-55mm ii lens , it came with the 18-55mm iii kit lens . I understand the ii lens has anti- vibration? Correct me if I’m wrong ! Obviously this isn’t the end of the world ! I read a review from an owner saying box had no seal on it, mine came with no seal too (maybe this is normal ?) I checked inside the box and everything seemed in order , neatly packaged , no damage, not a mark on it , camera seems to work fine . I’ll add to my review accordingly, the more I get to know and use the camera .
Love this camera. It’s never out of my hands. Have taken some amazing photos even though I’ve never used one before. It’s got me hooked in photography and wanting to learn more ,so I can understand the manual settings as well. Would highly recommend
The basic EOS 2000D is light but feels solid enough, my only gripe is the noise when taking shots but that aside I am more than happy with it. My reference is the EOS 100D as used in school.
Using the various Shutter and Aperture controls my photos look great which is what I hoped for.
The battery life appears to go on forever but I’ve yet to do an all night photo shoot.
Wearing glasses is no issue when looking through the viewfinder and using the adjuster wheel, this make life so much easier than looking at the back screen.
Although the reviews I’ve read put it down due to using an older image processor as an amature and for the price I have no complaints in this area.
For a ‘technical’ review of this camera. Please see the other reviews as they seem to have covered everything.
Personally, I chose this camera as an entry level DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) to explore the world of photography beyond a) my history of 35mm SLRs/and 6cm TLRs and b) the very handy and capable ‘pocket sized’ digital compact cameras.
From reading many reviews, from many sources, I decided this camera would be my most cost-effective approach – by minimising my initial spend (especially when this camera/lens was on offer), allowing subsequent investment once and if, I enjoyed the DSLR experience.
I wanted a reliable, time proven camera that would a) provide easy yet comprehensive automatic shooting (happy-snaps!) and b) a semi-pro level of manual control. This camera was my choice.
The camera has many, many features and functions and I have a long way to go before I will be able to use them all.
I would like to offer the following though:
The camera is well designed and fits comfortably in the hands for right-handed use, the camera is also surprisingly light — much unlike the rather heavy cameras and lenses of my past!
The supplied handbook is next to useless, it is very long, but that is because of the inclusion of pretty much every language you can name. Some have complained about the unavailability of a handbook, but if you go to the manufacturer’s website it is quite easy to navigate to/and download the handbook for free. It only took me a couple of minutes.
Would I recommend this camera — Yes, I believe it is perfect for one’s initial exploration of the DSLR world.
Be sure to order a memory card as one does not come with it. Personally, I think Canon could have provided a minimum sized card to help get started, but oh well.
Similarly, there is no camera to PC cable. I chose a card reader to overcome this.
I hope this helps, if you are considering purchase of this camera.
Great camera for starting out but do not buy from this seller. Did not inform that bag and card would be arriving separately and the bag is totally different from what is pictured. Beware on that front. They’ve also inflated there prices for Christmas.
Brilliant camera, easy to use. Bought it for my niece as a 21st birthday present. Given to her the day before she went on holiday . She read the instructions on the plan. She said it was easy to understand and use. Brilliant pictures and videos from her holiday. She would recommend this camera, as she said it is the first big camera she has owned, was worried to use it at first but found it very easy to use. ‘
First things first, my first mistake was not checking my basket, I bought two of these, second mistake well more of an issue, first set of cameras were left of my doorstep and were ultimately stolen and after numerous calls and chat messages they were replaced even though I said I only wanted one of them replaced but they still sent me two, I spoke to them again concerning this and they said don’t worry keep the 2nd camera for free and I had to speak to 3 people to explain no it has been paid for….. NOT HAPPY… Finally after 4 cameras 2 stolen 2 finally delivered after taking a day go work and then having to return the extra camera I was finally happy as I had a camera I wanted. The camera overall is amazing for beginners and the interchangeable lenses are amazing, I have bought more lenses, Not from Amazon as Id worry I wouldn’t get them. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CAMERA if you are a newbie photography fan. Also on a side not I walked past my neighbours today and they had an amazon delivery placed under there door mat, wouldn’t have been bad if the box was small but the box was quite big so looked like the mat was levitating.
I sold my 1100d as I wanted something with a little bit more. I am certainly a amateur and I love using this camera. In fact I tried getting back into photography but I wasn’t doing enough with the 1100d. Since I’ve had this camera, being able to link it with my phone and upload it I’ve used to so much more. For a beginners camera I think this one is brilliant. I’ve even ordered the 55-250mm lens so I can get a bit more close up and the camera itself is a very reasonable price.
Impressed with this camera, which allows you to happy snap to your heart’s content with the “intelligent auto” setting if you’re not in the mood for effort, or to get a professional-grade result with a few seconds for setting up, using the many options provided or going for entirely manual control. It’s a big camera, but is thoughtfully designed to make it easy to hold, and as a left-hander who struggles with camera controls I must say it’s the easiest one to hold and operate the buttons on that I’ve ever used. Where it is let down sadly is by the Canon Connect software, which connects the camera for picture transfer via WiFi, but to Android or iOs devices only. One selling point for me was that the camera can take photos in both jpg and RAW format, RAW giving a higher quality picture that can be post-processed on a computer to enhance it or bring out detail. Unfortunately Android devices will not store RAW images sent over WiFi, and they are converted into jpgs. So, if you want to use RAW format and all the advantages it gives, you will need to spend extra to get a USB connector to attach the camera to your desktop or laptop. This seems a bit shortsighted on Canon’s part, as I think that most people buying this type of camera would want to use RAW format, if only to try it out.
This Reflex is perfect for the people that are approaching the world of photography, it have all the functionality that you need to understand all the technique to become a ph, in the manual mode i find it very clever in every aspect , with the rotating gear you can select the shutter speed or change the setting and perhaps set the iso that go from 100 to 6400, with this camera i’ve buyed a 50mm canon 1.8 to have a nice blurred effect for the portraits that i want. It’s a difficult lens cause it zoomes a lot, because of the size of the sensor that is a aps-c and has a crop factor of 1.6 so a 50 mm become an 80 and so wiht other lens, you can calculate it doing the mm times 1.6. This camera has all the modern technologies from the wifi to remote control with your smartphone.
I was looking to buy an entry level DSLR and this one fits the bill, easy to use, light and versatile and I can finally do justice to the fantastic scenery up in the Lakes. I particularly like the metal lens mount rather than the plastic one on the 4000D which should be far more robust.
The only problem is the manual which comes with the camera which is almost useless so I took the advice of other reviewers and bought The Canon 2000D / Rebel T7 user manual which gives you all of the info that should be in the manual which comes with the camera.
