I got the 18/400 Tamron lens but it’s for a crop sensor camera so in reality a 24/620 mm . I also got the converter but hated the way that worked . So I got this camera so I could the lens . once I learned that there is a quick mode it works well.
Brand spanking new and all appears to be in great working order.
Upon delivery a password was required to ensure that it actually got delivered to me which put my mind at ease that this product wouldn’t get lost.
Really easy for start to mace your first shot and Learn how is working all machine
I purchased this as a gift for my girlfriend and the feedback she has given is pretty good so far.
A super dslr for beginners, intermediate and more.
Pros:
– Great value / price ratio
– Excellent image quality. If you need a 50 x 75 inch blow-up to hang in your reception room, this camera is the right tool for you.
– Great battery performance
– Relatively small and lightweight
Cons:
– It’s not a ‘top-of-the-line’ DSLR model
– Looks and feels somewhat ‘plasticky’. Definitely not a design stunner.
– Kit lens is not great (but it’s a common thing among DSLRs; a set of lenses is highly recommended. Changing focus lenghts is THE reason why people buy DSLRs. Get a macro/portrait lens, a telephoto lens, and a wide-angle lens. Or a superzoom if you’re a lazy person, but you’ll lose something of the great picture quality.)
All in all, if you’ve been used to mobile phone cameras so far, you’ll be astonished with the new views on the world this Canon DSLR will open to you.
I bought the EOS 2000 to replace my 12 year old EOS1000 and I’m not disappointed, controls are all familiar and simple to use with the addition of wi-fi and a super 24 megapixels giving great quality pictures especially in low light. Delivery from Amazon was next day so very happy.
I’m just a snapper, a hobbyist.
I had to replace my trusty old KM Dynax 5 and had dithered for a a while because camera technology has moved on so much since I first bought it.
I eventually settled on the Canon 2000D. I’m not disappointed! It has a nice reassuring weight in the hand and the grip is comfortable and easy on my hands that are showing the first signs of arthritis!
I did make the mistake of not purchasing an extra battery, but that’s easily remedied.
Very happy with my new camera!
Just a couple of tips before you buy.
1. Do research which Canon models have an Image Stabilizing lens(IS) as standard. You’d be surprised at the number of sellers who fail to make this clear in listings. You may end up spending more than you need if you don’t do this.
2. Do invest in The “Dummies” guide which you can also purchase on Amazon. The Camera only comes with the bare minimum of setup details and there is no way you will fully understand all the buttons, setup screens and huge amount of features without sitting down with this guide/manual and taking the voyage of discovery at your own pace.
All singing all dancing camera, heavyweight not for girls a great all rounder for the money, get it for 689 sold by Amazon, some dealers selling at 1000+. To complicated for beginners,if you have no basic knowledge of photography and camera settings it’s not for you.
Using the various Shutter and Aperture controls my photos look great which is what I hoped for.
The battery life appears to go on forever but I’ve yet to do an all night photo shoot.
Wearing glasses is no issue when looking through the viewfinder and using the adjuster wheel, this make life so much easier than looking at the back screen.
Although the reviews I’ve read put it down due to using an older image processor as an amature and for the price I have no complaints in this area.
Personally, I chose this camera as an entry level DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) to explore the world of photography beyond a) my history of 35mm SLRs/and 6cm TLRs and b) the very handy and capable ‘pocket sized’ digital compact cameras.
From reading many reviews, from many sources, I decided this camera would be my most cost-effective approach – by minimising my initial spend (especially when this camera/lens was on offer), allowing subsequent investment once and if, I enjoyed the DSLR experience.
I wanted a reliable, time proven camera that would a) provide easy yet comprehensive automatic shooting (happy-snaps!) and b) a semi-pro level of manual control. This camera was my choice.
The camera has many, many features and functions and I have a long way to go before I will be able to use them all.
I would like to offer the following though:
The camera is well designed and fits comfortably in the hands for right-handed use, the camera is also surprisingly light — much unlike the rather heavy cameras and lenses of my past!
The supplied handbook is next to useless, it is very long, but that is because of the inclusion of pretty much every language you can name. Some have complained about the unavailability of a handbook, but if you go to the manufacturer’s website it is quite easy to navigate to/and download the handbook for free. It only took me a couple of minutes.
Would I recommend this camera — Yes, I believe it is perfect for one’s initial exploration of the DSLR world.
Be sure to order a memory card as one does not come with it. Personally, I think Canon could have provided a minimum sized card to help get started, but oh well.
Similarly, there is no camera to PC cable. I chose a card reader to overcome this.
I hope this helps, if you are considering purchase of this camera.
Brilliant camera, easy to use. Bought it for my niece as a 21st birthday present. Given to her the day before she went on holiday . She read the instructions on the plan. She said it was easy to understand and use. Brilliant pictures and videos from her holiday. She would recommend this camera, as she said it is the first big camera she has owned, was worried to use it at first but found it very easy to use. ‘
The only problem is the manual which comes with the camera which is almost useless so I took the advice of other reviewers and bought The Canon 2000D / Rebel T7 user manual which gives you all of the info that should be in the manual which comes with the camera.
