Bought to replace the same model, that stopped working, as I had a supply of new cartridges for the TS5150. It said it was an updated model, and although the model number is the same, it definitely works better and is quicker.
This printer was bought to replace my older and smaller Canon (which I loved). This printer is larger and takes up more space, particular if you want to use the rear feed tray. As others have commented the peripherals do feel quite flimsy ie the rear feeder tray, the front tray and also the lift up panel. I found the set up quite easy, particularly being able to just plug into the previous cables – I was pleased to be able to use the previous cartridges too (1) as they weren’t empty and 2) as I had a new set under the desk – the printer also came with two cartridges. I don’t have any issues with the printer choosing the wrong printer tray (as others have mentioned) as I don’t keep paper sitting in the rear feeder. If I do load the rear feeder I just change the print setting as I print. The print quality is good enough for me for home office use and the occasional birthday card – I don’t print photos. So far so good. 🙂
Prints well. Setting it up is a pain, but printer setups haven’t changed in 30 years. They could have made printer setup a simple plug and play years ago. But nothing ever changes with printing and printers. The worst aspect of IT. It always has been (when I used to have to configure them in code) and it seems it always will be.
Easy to set up, good response time to print request, single / double sided easy to toggle between. No cartridges drop into place smoothly. Being able to map to phone, tablet, laptop and PC (with room for one more) is excellent for air printing. Definitely an excellent piece of kit for the price.
And printer connected to network via the WPS button on router. Thanks to this guy’s excellent instructions in his review I’ve had no issues and a quick and easy set up.
Test printed from my iPhone, iPad, and Mac laptop. Printed double sided automatically. Now I just have to wait for hubby to come home so we can see if his Android devices connect as easily. If I make no further update here, it means all went well.
Fast and quiet printing and vivid good quality on cheap A4 printer paper.
Five stars so far, but of course, only on day one!

Great printer for price , easy to set up …took longer to download drivers than actual set up …prints good quality, double sided printing good.
Easy to link to phone and laptop wirelessly.
Not used scanner yet.
Overall quite impressive for low budget printer although cartridges supplied don’t last very long.

My point is even in this day and age not EVERYONE has wireless internet at home and the printer arriving as it does puts you on the back foot because if you require the cable you have to purchase one separately!!
his is a good budget printer but a. many reviews have reported it is not a simple job tomset it up
So if you think you can link it to your system unaided, buy it, it’s not bad: if you’re a novice, don’t buy it…you’ll get annoyed at it.
I have it working, just about, properly, for my PC, my wife’s PC (both Windows 10), a Samsung Tablet, an iPad and a Samsung Smartphone (A40). This took one evening and most of the next day, albeit not continuously. Initially, I tried to follow the enclosed instructions but when the printer wouldn’t connect to my BT Home Hub 2, I gave up and went by instinct — 40 odd years in IT. This was my second attempt; after the first where I found that I had to reset the Wi-Fi Router after printing from a different device — PC then Smartphone then PC (“printer not found”). So, my suggestions:
1. Turn off your PC. Unpack the printer as per the enclosed instructions, removing all securing tape, transparent covers, etc., load paper and the print cartridges. Stop when the instructions start to tell you how to connect the printer.
2. Connect the printer to a power source and switch on. The printer will now go through warm up processes, with some clicking and clacking, and the information window lights up. When everything settles down – next step.
3. In the little window (doesn’t show up well in my pictures), there are three images (Copy, Scan, Print) and below three small icons (Wi-Fi, Settings, Help), using the arrows to the right navigate down to the Wi-Fi icon and press “OK”.
4. Pressing the down arrow as necessary, locate “LAN Settings” and press “OK”. Locate “Wireless LAN” and press “OK”. Ignore “Wireless Direct” as this lets you connect your device directly to the printer which then stops your device from then connecting to the internet.
5. Locate “Wireless LAN Setup” and press “OK”. The printer now searches for and displays a list of available wireless routers. Navigate to yours and press “OK”. You now must enter the Wi-Fi password key for your router; press “OK” and a little keyboard appears, round which you have to navigate with the arrows, pressing “OK” each time you highlight a required character. When finished, navigate to “Connect” and press “OK”.
6. Your printer should now be safely connected to your Wi-Fi Router. I then followed the above process until I reached the “Wireless LAN” screen again, selected the option “WLAN Active/Inactive” and ensured it was set to “Active”.
7. NOW, switch on your PC and boot up, ensuring that the printer is showing a green light above the power button. Your Windows 10 PC should now automatically find the new printer, set up all the drivers and install the necessary software. There should be no need to use the supplied CD or to download anything from the Canon web site.
8. Finally, go to Windows 10 Settings, Devices, Printers and ensure everything is set up for paper size, etc. so that you can now print a test page.
The above is how I saw the setup process that worked for me.

The Canon TS5150 comes with an 8page installation guide which I found confusing. I tried it with a USB cable to my Apple computer but it turns out better to use it as WiFi without the cable. It is now linked to my Desktop Mac and my iPhone. With limited computer skills, I had to seek assistance to get it working. The installation CD only applies to standard PC and not Mac OS which has to be installed from online links.
This All in One, printer, scanner and copier works as intended. it comes with set-up ink cartridges but I bought extra. There is a single combined colour cartridge (541) and the other is black.(540). It’s too early to say how long the ink will last; obviously depending on amount of use.
We bought this after a frustrating time with a new HP printer (now returned). This TS5150 is fairly straightforward to set up and load the drivers for. Whilst loading drivers beware of bloatware and only load the components that you need. It is still early days, but black printing is good quality, photo printing OK’ish on plain paper. To be fair, I suspect that results would be much better on photo paper. Loading paper into the tray at the front of the printer is easily done and prints emerge just above the tray. The only odd thing that I have found is that the “operation panel” at the front of the printer seems to need to be lifted to the horizontal position to allow printing, this makes the printers “footprint” a bit larger. I will add to this review after a bit more use of the printer, but so far, so good.
I am not that keen on the front where you have to lift the front to operate the machine as it does seem a bit flimsy and feels that it could be damaged easily.
There are two ink cartridges for the machine and these don’t seem to last very long so you would need to order spares as back up. The print quality is not superb and not as good as my last Canon printer but it is fine for everyday printing. If you wish to print quality photos then I don’t think this is for you but OK for holiday snaps etc.
For the price is it a decent printer.
