I bought this for my son and his wife for their motorcycles. He called me using it in his helmet. He sounded like he was in the next room. He is very happy with it.

They fit super well and work right out the box, however, they have a tendency to cut out and the software is a bit buggy. Music adjustment vs voice adjustment really sucks no matter how much I adjust it with my software. It also has a random tendency to cut out while I’m riding, this mainly happens when I’m on highway, as I don’t usually ride city so I can’t speak for that.

I’m currently rocking a sedici strada 2 and the other person I’m on calls with has a shoei rf1400. It cuts out every so often, maybe once every fifteen minutes and it’ll say music is still playing but just pauses the music. Sound quality is also alright, not the best.

I really do like the comms though as it works well.

I have no interest in carrying on a conversation when I ride but I really want to listen to music when I ride. I’ve had Harley touring bikes with great sound systems for almost two decades. This year I spontaneously purchased a Street Triple RS as a second bike and needed a solution for music. This unit sounds great and even at highway speeds I don’t have to turn it up much. I also use earplugs. Still, I feel I can hear ambient sounds so it’s not interfering with safety. I have no experience with the 2x or 4x systems but I’m not disappointed I opted for the higher end model.

I must have received a bad batch. I purchased the dual set so my riding gal and I could talk. One unit died about a month after use and now the second one has died. The warranty process requires you to take videos to understand the problem and than they require you to pay for shipping the unit back to them. No prepaid labels or envelope to return. The first replacement unit is working well after a few months…..fingers crossed.

The product is insanely good. The only issue for me is that one of the supports has an issue and the mic was not working. I contacted Cardo and they are sending a new one, though.

Wife incredibly happy, we each ride solo, great features, good distance coverage, relatively easy install and setup. Great job Cardo.

Omg.. I was concerned because of the cost, most I ever spent was 100 on a headset previously.. but this is WELL WORTH IT.

Sound is crystal clear even at 70mph.. the ability to adjust its own volume depending on ambient noise around you is great.. I had my music loud and could hear every lyric but I could still hear cars passing me closely too and hear my bike.

The cardo voice recognition takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few trial and errors I got better at it.. pretty funny too because i tried every command to get it to play music before admitting defeat and actually reading the manual on its commands.. music on is not in my vocabulary apparently. The voice also hears you even if your in a loud environment and are not shouting. It understands me well despite my Welsh accent. Not sure how it would handle thicker accents though. The cardo voice also makes life easier when wanting to make a phone call or change music etc while riding in busy traffic and you can’t free your hands.

The magnetic holder is amazing. No faffing around with wires to unplug or charge it.. simply place it near the holder andbthe magnets do the rest. Its also very strong.. im curious by nature so I tried to see if I could pull it off. No you can’t and trying will probably break a nail. It’s easy to remove properly though too.

The mic is brilliant at phonecalls too. Going along the motorway in rain at 70mph and my caller could hear every word I said easily. It seems to be sturdy in resisting water too.

I havent tried the intercoms yet but I will update when I do. I’m just waiting on a willing ride companion to Do so.

The app is easy to navigate and you can change voice sensitivity and volume levels amongst other things on it to suit you.

All in all. I love it. The comparison to a cheap one isn’t even plausible. It’s better in every way by far.. its worth the money!

Bought these to replace my Sena communicators that were frustratingly useless. The Cardo edge were everything the Sena claimed to be. The install was easy and they function flawlessly. These are truly excellent communicators.

I am so happy we found this product for our side by side off-roading adventures in the desert. We looked at a competitor that would have cost twice as much, had wires and would have needed a lot of work installing. Now, our Cardo system goes wherever our helmets go. There is a slight delay but it is barely noticeable. Music volume goes low every time we speak to each other. Install was so easy in our helmets. We do not hear wind or engine noises. I would recommend this to my family and friends. Well worth the money!

I have been researching this product for a long time and finally I got the chance to purchase it. I can only say good things about it so far, I’ve been using it on my commute to work and on the weekends riding with my friends. Now we can communicate any changes on route and even listen to the same playlist. Love how simple it is to install. I’m working on my YouTube channel and soon I will be making a video about it so far, it’s a 10 out of 10.

I’ve had a few SENA comm units over the years and thought they were great. Compared to this, they weren’t. These sound amazing. They’re plenty loud enough and I don’t even have the loudness setting on. You can also plug your own earbuds into these at any time instead of the speakers. The voice commands work even at highway speeds. I’m very impressed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great product, had limited use with it, but we also used the Fodsports M1-S Plus. You can buy 3 Sets of the fodsports M1-S plus for the price of the Edge. The M1-s does everything the cardo does except the “Mesh” but it supports 8 riders, and the intercom range on the fodsports is phenomenal. I’m not downing the Cardo if it sounds like it, it’s just simply way way over priced. IMO. Lets see if this review stays or is taken down.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was very bummed when I took my first ride. I could hear the speakers when I was idle and nothing when riding on the road. Little did I know I had headphone safety turned on to 80 dB I still have it turned on to 100dB but was finally able to hear podcasts and understand words. I have a straight pipe exhaust so I was easily producing ~90dB on the road.

You can even wear hearing protection and hear podcasts clearly with these.

The quality of the sound is decent enough for what it is. Really audio should be low on the priority list when you need to be aware of the road and take in the scenery.

These allow for awareness of your GPS turns coming up, hazards on the road, calls coming in if you need to know, and the occasional background music to keep you entertained.

I have not used the com feature, but expect it to be satisfactory since podcasts are easy to hear. The mic has been tested to do commands with Siri on the road and I do not have to repeat myself.

Overall this product makes a big difference for me while riding, font need to look into my phone since it is siri enabled. Speakers are incredibly loud highly doubt people even listen to them at the loudest volume, after about 80 percent volume you do begin to listen to the music distorted, so there is definitely room for improvement from jbls side. All in all, If you can afford this they are the ones to get, installation is very easy

This item has some excellent reviews, in the short time I have owned it I have found it much superior to my previous BT headset. Audio is clear, once you learn the commands voice control is seamless. Wish it was able to make a call from my contacts, but again learning curve having only had it a short time. Install and pairing was easy, had to use the tape mount as the helmets are too wide at the rim. Other than that enjoying this purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users[Original Review] I have just received this unit, and installed it with no issues. Downloaded the app, updated the software and got the unit successfully connected. Playing music, making phone calls are fine, but the most important feature which is the INTERCOM is not working reliably; connection keeps dropping out. The DMCC is not working reliably as well. It seems does not work.

The iPhone Cardo Connect app is not reliable either. While the unit is connected via Bluetooth and you see it in the Bluetooth settings as connected, but the app does not recognize it. Very frustrating.

I don’t care about the app, I just need the unit to work as advertised, mainly the Intercom feature, otherwise, this unit is going back to Amazon. Very very frustrating!!!. I always thought Cardo is better than Sena but now I am left with very very bad first impression.

[Update after few days: August 11, 2022: additional feedback and increase the star ratings from 1 to 3]: after trying this Duo unit in a 2-hour ride, I’d like to share my experience and update this review.

1- Intercom: This feature is by far the important one for me as I ride with other passengers and people. Initially it never worked so I had factory reset both units. Nothing worked. Then I had to delete the existing pairing with the second Edge unit and paired again. Only then, it worked.

I took the two helmets for a ride with my kid as a passenger to test the intercom. It worked 80% of the time but both our voices kept dropping. So it’s not yet reliable. I imagine If it is failing with a passenger who is literally stuck to your back, I have serious doubts it will ever work with other riders. My voice was cutting as well as my kid. Very often, I could say “I didn’t hear that, repeat again”.

It’s worth mentioning that both units were installed in a full face helmets. On occasions when I want to test the voice and hearing while the visor is slightly open, hearing was impossible and my kid could not hear me.

2- The app: After the factory reset, and for whatever reason, the app and the Edge unit are now connecting more seamlessly with some delay. I’m using iPhone 13 Pro Max with the latest iOS for reference.

3- Other voice commands: telling Cardo to play music or radio or connect to Siri is flawless and perfect.

4- hardware dials and buttons: obviously there is a problem with the unit dial and buttons and the software as some other reviewer indicated. They don’t work as intended.

5- Joining other riders: This is the most annoying part. Cardo Edge requires you to the the leader of the group. If you ride with other riders with established groups on their Cardo units; joining them will NOT work. You must create a new group and then invite them to join you. This is annoying, time waster and embarrassing to do. This is a deal breaker for people who often join other riders. If you ride solo, then this won’t be an issue. I’m not sure how this works with Riders who might have Sena or other types of communicators. Cardo: Fix this please!

Finally; all these issues to me indicate that the software on the Edge Duo is still buggy and requires some serious fixing.

Cardo: if you are listening; you must get this fixed.

[3rd Update: August 27, 2022: additional feedback and increase the star ratings from 3 to 4, and removed the words “not reliable” from the title]:

I’m offering this third update to help fellow riders. I took this Cardo Edge set in a 5 hour ride with my daughter as a passenger with a talk time for almost 3 hours (of course, not continuously talking! Who can handle 3 hour of talk!! Just saying! Lol). Here is my feedback:

1- The Intercom: after adjusting the mics on both full face helmet and made it as close as possible to our mouths; the intercoms clarity is up to 90-95%. There is less choppiness and delay. It seems this fixes it and I’m overall happy.

2- Battery: after completing our ride; the units had 25% of juice. We started at 100%. Keep in mind is that talking is around 3 hours but the units were on the whole 5 hour ride. We played music for nearly 20 minutes only.

3- Sharing music: this feature didn’t work and I couldn’t figure out why.

4- Half Helmet Setup: I also installed this Cardo Edge unit on a half helmet. I needed to purchase the half helmet kit which only comes with the extended mic but no cradle so I ended up buying the 2nd helmet kit. From this kit, I used the cradle, speakers only while the two mic’s aren’t needed. I wish Cardo sold the half helmet kit with the cradle, then I would just needed to purchase the speakers.

Riding with Cardo Edge half helmet is fine. Listening to music is fine as well as giving commands to Cardo to start radio or music went fine at various riding speeds. So if your ride at 60-80KM/h, Cardo had no trouble in listening to my commands while also covering my mouth with a face mask. Nonetheless there are two problems: 1- Answering/making calls is nearly impossible at higher speeds. You can’t hear the other side and they won’t hear you. 2- Playing music or radio become difficult in the sense that the more fast you go the louder you want the music volume to be, and then once you slow down, you find yourself wanting to lower the volume. It become cumbersome. I wish Cardo could develop a software feature that allows for “adaptive music volume” which increases when the riding speed increases and does the opposite once the rider slows down. Wishful thinking I suppose!

Anyhow, overall I’m pleased with this Cardo Edge so far after these several rides and attempts. The issue with Group riding and you being the leader remains unsolved.

    Hope this helps!

Purchased this for use in skydiving. Wingsuiting in particular. The people I jump with have the Cardo packtalk bold units and all happily chat to each other during flight and under canopy. Not wanting to be left out I have now joined the in-flight chit chat club and it works a treat! Having the mesh system means we have 6 of us able to communicate during our flights/under canopy. Fitting to my skydiving helmet was a challenge as they are not as well protected, meaning less internal padding compared to motorcycle helmets but it is in. I choose the edge as it is slimmer than the bold and no need for the little aerial. The mounting is much better being magnetic. Others have lost their units on deployment but for me this is less likely. I did have an issue with one of the boom mics not working. Got in touch with Cardo and within a few days a new one was shipped out. All in all a brilliant piece of kit.

Works fantastically well, crystal clear on calls and bike to bike, I’d like it to be a little louder for music but I also understand why it’s not.

Siri integration is brilliant as that wasn’t available on my last intercom.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat product. I started off with a g4 and upgraded to the freecom 4+. While the Freecom 4+ was a huge audio upgrade, the units would disconnect frequently. We found that if our phone’s bluetooth was off, it worked better. This was unacceptable by today’s standards.

We were cautious about trying the packtalk Edge, as the Freecom 4+ was so disappointing. I can say I am very impressed. The audio is clear and loud. Unit controls and great. Battery life incredible. USB C for the win. The magnetic base snaps right in solid. Even if riding with 2 bikes, if you loose connection it picks RIGHT up. SO quick. I never had communicators repair the connection as quick as these units do.

Overall very happy with the Packtalk Edge.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersUpdate: finally got through to tech support after an hour on hold. Disable intelligent noise block to Off and background music to 50%. They said they will look into updating background music in 25% increments instead of 50%.

The Cardo Packtalk Edge would be the best helmet headset yet BUT…. When you are listening to music while connected to DMC intercom, the volume of both change at the SAME time. I have tried everything to fix that… and still no dice.

Example. I put the Pandora music volume to a reasonable level, I cannot hear my wife on the DMC intercom b/c her volume is too low. I turn the intercom up so I can hear my wife and the music turn up to unbearably loud. Adjustment to “background music” does nothing with the Packtalk Edge.

I have emailed Cardo with no response, I have contacted them on Facebook with no response, I have called at 8am CST when they opened and on hold with a “we are experiencing longer than normal wait times” message. I can honestly say it feels like they have ZERO tech support after purchase. I am pretty pissed being I paid $700 for this dual set.

If there is an update to this I will change the rating accordingly

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI recently ordered a new Sena 50s Harmon Kardon and bought a Sena 30k from a friend. I returned the 50s after 2 days after having so many issues with both devices and they did not live up to the features they claim on paper.
I then bought the cardo packtalk edge dual pack and it has been nothing short of amazing! This device does all it claims to do and more, all with no bugs or issues that I have ran into. The sound quality is amazing and in my opinion better than the 50s Harman Kardon. The app works fantastic, easy to update, somthing both the senas lacked immensely. The quality is good, clear instructions, looks fantastic and easy to use. It even paired via Bluetooth to old lexin R6 devices I have given to a friend, and then I was able to bridge them both into mesh to talk as a group. The Sena would not. If you are debating between this and a sena device, do not waist your time or money with Sena or thier tech support. You will not be disappointed with cardo!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is one I have been waiting for. We have wireless updates, improved noise cancellation, DMC, Clear intercom, excellent sound. USB C port for charging, Good battery life and it actually understands me saying the voice commands. Minor down side in my opinion is the Manual detail. It’s been simplified to the point of it could be misunderstood. For example I followed the instructions to ADD a bluetooth device and when I paired my GPS it knocked out my phone pairing. You have to pair the GPS as a second phone if you already paired it to your phone but the manual doesn’t say that. You will want to pair it to your phone so you can use the Cardo Connect app. The app makes managing your Dynamic Mesh Groups and other commands easy. Good Job on that Cardo.
