I recently purchased the CHERRY High Level KBD Combos 9100 Slim GB Keyboard and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and design. This keyboard is a great choice for anyone who values both style and functionality in their computer peripherals.

Firstly, the wireless feature of this keyboard is fantastic. I love not having to worry about cords and cables cluttering up my desk space. The keyboard connects quickly and easily to my computer and has not experienced any connectivity issues.

The slim design of the keyboard is also a huge plus. It takes up minimal space on my desk and feels very lightweight and easy to type on. Despite its slim profile, the keys have a satisfying tactile response and are very comfortable to type on for extended periods of time.

The black UK-English layout is perfect for my needs and the keys are clearly labeled and easy to read. The backlighting is also a nice touch, making it easy to type in dimly lit environments.

Overall, I think this keyboard offers great value for its price. It is well-made, easy to use, and looks great on my desk. I highly recommend the CHERRY High Level KBD Combos 9100 Slim GB Keyboard to anyone in the market for a high-quality wireless keyboard.

This keyboard (Model No: KW 9100 Slim) arrives as you would expect, in a nice looking Cherry branded cardboard box. The box design is more than suitable should you be wishing to give this as a gift. Inside the box is the keyboard itself (wrapped in tissue paper), a USB charging cable, a USB RF Receiver, a height adjustment strip , and instruction manual.

It’s important to note that this keyboard is not Mac compatible. Also, whilst you can game on it, as it only detects a maximum of three key presses at the same time, it is not really suitable for more serious gamers.

The keyboard itself feels very well made. The materials used are good quality, and despite being quite thin, feels solid. Using a lot of force, there is very little flex, and certainly none that is noticeable whilst typing. Given its wireless nature, and how thin and lightweight it is, this solidity makes it ideal for anyone needing to use a keyboard on their lap, or whilst in bed.

The keyboard uses laptop/chiclet style keys, that use the Cherry SX scissor mechanism. These low profile keys feel good to type on and manage to have a bit of bite to them, and do not feel at all mushy as a result. They are easy to press, prove accurate to type on, and are nice and quiet (not completely silent, but quiet enough not to disturb people around you).

It uses the UK keyboard layout, with a number pad. There are also additional keys that allow you to do things such as switch to your browser, start the calculator app, control the volume, and to lock Windows (which is useful in an office environment, when you need to leave your desk). Whilst there are no macro keys, you can use Cherry’s “Cheery Keys” app to assign many of the keys on the keyboard to access apps and use macros.

A bar is included that attaches to the underside of the keyboard, in order to lift the rear of the keyboard up by 9mm, to give more of an angled typing experience. It is attached using strong magnets.

The keyboard can be connected wirelessly to your computer via Bluetooth 4.1. Alternatively, you can plug the included USB 2.0 RF receiver into your computer and connect to it using RF instead. There is a switch on the back of the keyboard that allows you to switch between the two. This switch also allows you to turn the keyboard on and off. I had no issues whilst using either of these methods. Pairing was flawless and I didn’t experience any lost connections with either.

The keyboard is charged using the USB Type-A to USB-Type C cable included in the box. The battery lasts for a long time. I have used the keyboard daily for a month and have yet had to recharge it. The keyboard enters sleep mode after not being used for a period of time, and wakes up on the next keypress. To save that bit extra power, you can also physically switch it off using the switch on the rear.

One missing feature I would have liked to have seen is backlighting. Whilst the white lettering does stand out against the black keys, in a darker environment it can be a little difficult to make out and the addition of backlighting would have solved this.

I would have also liked to have seen a recess in the keyboard where the USB RF receiver could be stored when not in use. And, whilst useful, I can’t help feeling that the detachable bar for raising the keyboard is a clunky way of doing this. It’s fine if you have it attached all the time, but if you don’t, you now have to find somewhere to store the bar. Having a bar or stand that folds out from the keyboard itself, would be far more convenient, even if it adds a little more in terms of the size of the keyboard itself.

In conclusion though, despite these negatives, this a really nice, well built keyboard. It feels good to type on whilst remaining quiet. It’s rigidity allows it to be used away from the desk and without the need for something solid under it. So long as you are not and avid gamer, I can highly recommend it.

Cherry is synonymous with high quality mechanical switches – this however doesn’t actually use those. It’s a scissor switch, so low travel, soft click. This is very easy to type on and makes it a pleasant keyboard to use.

Battery life is good and it’s quiet. Key thing is if you’re expecting cherry mechanical switches, this isn’t that.

I needed a wireless keyboard so I can recline my chair all the way back whilst at my computer so I can lay down and play Stardew valley. This is the ideal gaming position for a lazy Sunday.

The keyboard itself feels really nice and comes packaged neatly. You also get a USB-C to USB-A cable and a wireless dongle in the box.

The battery time is adequate, can’t really complain about it at all. It lasts me for as long as I have the time to play at least and that is all the matters. The keyboard isn’t heavy at all but feels like it is really well made. I would have enjoyed this keyboard a tad bit more if it was backlit as that is what I am used to and it’s convenient during nighttime, but really isn’t a big downfall at all.

    Do recommend!

Cherry are a well known brand in the keyboard industry providing the gold standard, this keyboard lives up to the name and performs excellently.

The keyboard is very thin and lightweigh which makes it convenient to move around. Despite being thin the switches provide a feeling without being mushy.

Typing on this keyboard for long periods feels pleasant and is much better than other office keyboards.

The layout is a 100% UK layout, with a numpad etc. The keyboard is wireless and connects via Bluetooth.

    Definitely recommend this keyboard 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI always like to use a decent keyboard, my daily is a Logitech MX Keys so I’ve compared the new Cherry to this.

Firstly I think it looks great, subtle but very smart.
It’s quite thin, which I like.
The keys are sensitive and feel great but they’re very flat, I would like a little dishing to aid finger placement and feel.

It comes with a rectangular piece to increase the angle the keyboard sits at, and I think this is a neat solution and the angle is now to my liking, although some might prefer a greater angle.

I’ve used the wireless dongle to connect to my PC and it’s worked flawlessly.
Battery life has been excellent too.

One thing it lacks compared to my normal keyboard is backlighting for the keys.

So at the current price I think its expensive but probably worth it if you use your keyboard a lot.
I personally prefer my old keyboard nut this is considerably more expensive again.

I hope you find my review helpful.

This keyboard comes smartly boxed with instructions and accessories including USB-C to USB-A cable, wireless dongle and a large support bar foot that magnetically attaches to the back of the keyboard should you want to angle it up. Given there’s a warning in the instructions about the magnets being strong enough to wipe storage media, I would have preferred fold-out feet but if I’m using the keyboard on my lap I don’t need the foot anyway. Some storage for the dongle on the keyboard itself would also have been useful but in any case I generally just leave it in my mini-PC.

Overall build quality seems decent, it’s lightweight but feels solid. The keyboard has a clean, flat design with just a button, switch and light on the back. There are lights on the lock buttons, but no general backlighting, which is a shame. The keyboard has a UK layout, I don’t like the Caps Lock button being just an arrow pointing down but at least it’s in the right place.

The switch on the back toggles between Bluetooth and RF connection. I didn’t have any problems with either. Pairing via Bluetooth worked first time as did the dongle. I’m mainly using the keyboard with my mini-PC and performance has been fine, the keyboard is responsive and stays connected. I do prefer raised keys generally but flat keys are more tidy for a portable keyboard.

With the keyboard saving power by going into sleep mode, battery life so far is decent and charging via USB-C is reasonably fast. The red light on the back of the keyboard goes off when the battery is charged and the keyboard still works while charging, which is useful.

Ultimately I’m very pleased with this keyboard. It works well and is slim and lightweight. I do wish it had backlighting and fold-out feet rather than the detachable magnet bar but apart from that I have no complaints.

    Thin lightweight wireless keyboard

Really like this keyboard, it’s a low profile version so it’s nice and think. It’s made mostly of metal so it gives it a very premium fell. Battery life is excellent it last way longer than others I have tried in the last. The keys feel really nice to use and have a nice click sound. Cherry is a well known brand so you get the quality you would expect so it’s worth the money in my opinion. My only gripe is that the keys are not back light so if you’re using it in a darker room it’s hard to see the keys.

Overall this is a excellent keyboard and worth every penny do not hesitate to buy

So I haven’t ever used a wireless keyboard before but I’ve become so sick of my current work laptop’s keypad that I have given it a go and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Took a bit of getting used to as I’m used to a laptop sized keyboard but it didn’t take long.

It was really easy to connect with my laptop and I’m so pleased with how responsive and sensitive it is, as that was a major concern for me with a wireless keyboard. I definitely can’t notice any time lag and all the keys are as sensitive as my laptop, if not more so.

The battery life is very good and overall I’m super happy with this keyboard – light, sensitive, no time lag, easy to connect and lovely and comfortable to use if you have to sit typing for a long time. Great quality as you’d expect with this brand too.

This is a great keyboard that is extremely thin and lightweight (it’s main selling point for me if I’m honest).

The layout is a typical UK keyboard layout and the keys are extremely responsive and comfortable to the touch. It makes typing on the keyboard very easy.

It’s wireless and the connection with my computer is very good. There’s no lose of Bluetooth connection so far. Battery life is impressive too.

The keys and keyboard in general doesn’t have a backlight, which is obviously fine during the day. However, I use this keyboard a lot at night, and I would have wanted/expected it to be lit up, given the price of this. That’s the only drawback of this keyboard for me.

Connected this keyboard via Bluetooth to my daughter’s laptop as she prefers this keyboard. It’s bigger and high quality. It’s rechargeable, easy to use. Buttons are low profile, comfortable and quietly operating. All buttons are well responsive. Keyboard is heavier than our different, cheaper wired keyboard. I think this keyboard is really good, works well, looks pretty and wireless option helps when want to keep bigger distance from the screen.
Price is good for this quality keyboard. Recommended.

Unlike many products, this looks even better than in the photos, with a very attractive premium finish. Although it’s a full sized keyboard, it’s not as big as I expectde, and though it’s heavy enough to stay in place it’s light enough to carry comfortably.
It is very easy to pair, and works flawlessly.
I was very impressed when I used a Magic Keyboard recently, but this is is the best comparable option I’ve found for Windows; in fact, it’s even better – easier to use, and the key feedback is better. The keys are well-made, and depress evenly wherever you press them. It’s also very quiet, which is what I wanted. I’ve been using it with a Surface Pro, so of course it’s a vast improvement over the laptop keyboard.
The icing on the cake is a really long battery charge life.
I was initially taken aback by the box, which suggested it was a German (QWERTZ) keyboard, but to my relief it proved to be a UK keyboard. A mere hiccup of packaging copy because it’s a German manufacturer — sort it out, guys.
I’d never heard of the Cherry brand, but the product information reassures you that this keyboard has a good pedigree. It’s around 25 less than the typical price of an Apple Magic, but I’d say it’s a better piece of kit.

I suffer with RSI, So i do appreciate a well-designed keyboard that caters for wrist pain. The keyboard is lightweight, Portable and very easy to use, Just plug and play, And you are ready to go. It also has Bluetooth connectivity, So it can be used from any room in the house. It can be laid flat, Or propped up with the little inbuilt stand to give it a slight angle.

Overall, This works very well and i have had no issues with Bluetooth disconnections or disruptions. The keys are comfortable and feel ergonomic and natural to the touch. I also like that it’s easy to travel around with due to its lightweight and lack of space that it takes up. Ideal for travelling.

The brand Cherry isn’t one I would normally think of when considering a non gaming keyboard as I only really knew about their Cherry MX switches which are often used in high end gaming keyboards.

This particular keyboard is a complete contrast to a gaming keyboard as it focuses on being comfortable and as accurate as possible while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.

The keys on this keyboard are relatively low down, being only a few millimetres above the keyboard body. This combined with the scissor switches make for an office style keyboard that is extremely sleek, quiet and comfortable to type on for hours.

I won’t be replacing my gaming keyboard with this full time as I’m primarily a gamer but I will definitely be using this one for times when I have to type large amounts such as office work and typing up reports.

The box includes the keyboard, a charging cable and an RF receiver you plug into your pc.

TL;DR for this is – It’s a great feeling and looking keyboard with laptop style keys. I don’t really think there’s anything that could be improved upon. It’s really a great product from a great company.

Amazing for anyone that’s used to using laptop keyboards.

I really like this keyboard. I travel back and forth to the office and I love that it’s slim and light enough to be carried in my laptop bag without adding any noticeable weight.

The keys are more like laptop keys rather that mechanical switches and the build quality feels great. The magnetic keyboard raiser is a nice touch and raises it just enough to make typing more comfortable.

It’s pricey but I’d rather have this and carry it back and forth than have two separate cheaper keyboards at home and the office.

    – good only to use at home

    Cons:

    – would be better without numeric part
    – too big

I’ve always wondered what the hype is with Cherry keyboards/switches, and now I know.

The keyboard itself is sleek – the packaging is entirely recyclable. Everything is wrapped in black tissue paper.

With an inbuilt rechargeable battery, you don’t have to worry about having to find a AA/AAA when it runs out – simply plug in any USB-C cable in.

The action is comfortable – somewhere between clicky and silent, with not a lot of force needed to register a key press.

A backlight would be appreciated in any future revisions.

I wouldn’t use this as a travel keyboard – it does have some weight to it, but perfect for the office.

  18. IolaOconner says:

This is a nice and weighty full-size keyboard, minimalist and classy in design and it feels expensive and of high quality when opening and setting up. The buttons are nice and responsive and have a ‘positive’ action, as confirmed by my wife who is a touch-typist and went to secretarial college.

There is the option via a switch on the rear of using Bluetooth, which is more common on laptops, or RF via the included USB dongle, probably more convenient on a desktop PC. Both work fine and provide a reliable connection. Rather than having batteries, the keyboard features an in-built rechargeable battery and a power lead for charging. It has worked for a week out of the box without needing a charge so far.

It’s not cheap, but feels high quality and built to last, plus it has some features not found in cheaper keyboards. There is a magnetic stand which fits to the underside if you prefer your keyboard with a slight lift, rather than being flat on the desk. I would happily recommend this.

  19. TiffanyD says:

The Cherry wireless keyboard took a little while to connect on my PC laptop, but after 3 or 4 attempts, it connected, and held its connection.

The keys are comfortable to use and are responsive. It is a good weight, and remains in place when using for a long typing session, not really moving out of position.

It has a clip on attachment if you want to raise the top of the keyboard, which makes it more comfortable to use.

Included is a charging lead – and I was pleased to discover that the keyboard can be used whilst charging.

The only negative was that the receiver that comes with the keyboard (presumably for the RF use?) was wrapped in the same black paper as the keyboard and fell out when unpacking, so could easily be lost.

Otherwise, this is a good quality, well-designed keyboard, perfect to long-term use.

A smart slimline keyboard with a good feel too it. It does have a bit of weight to it because it contains the battery. It’s rechargeable via a USB C port (a USB A to USB C cable is included). You can connect either via Wi-Fi, plug and play with the included USB A dongle, or via Bluetooth which is quick and painless.

    Significant deficiencies:

    – The keys are not backlit (I see that one review here claims they they are – they most definitely are not). I think I would really expect to see this feature in a keyboard in this price bracket.

    Minor annoyances:

    – The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi selection switch is combined with the on-off switch – basically it’s a three way with off in the middle and the two selections either side. It’s a very small switch though, and when trying to switch off you tend to find that you move it all the way across from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi or vice versa missing out the off position and I find that it’s actually a little tricky and fiddly to get it to move just to the middle to turn it off. There should have been separate on/off and mode switches.

    – The detachable riser bar is stuck on by magnets. For this most part it stays put fine, but it can get knocked off easily if you are moving the keyboard around.

This is sleek but simple looking keyboard. Quite large but i love the fact that it has number keys on the side. Feels comfortable when using and connects easily to computer. This is a lovely keyboard . The key travel is amongst the best I have experienced and it has a lovely tactility to it. It feels massively premium and weighty when you pick it up ( not a great travel keyboard ) and at first I thought there was no way if adjusting the height but there is a really nice feeling premium magnetic attachment that clicks on the back that raises it to a nice height. It comes with a receiver that just plugs into a spare usb port and has worked well so far. Charging is via USB C with an included cable and I have not had to recharge it once so far. All in all yet another great Cherry keyboard.

I really like this keyboard, it has replaced a quite chunky one that I have had for many years. This product comes in a strong cardboard box with various bits of information on the back, it does however come with a detailed instruction leaflet. The keyboard is very slim and light, it comes with a magnetic strip for raising the back for ease of use. It can be either used Bluetooth or radio frequency, my desktop computer unfortunately doesn’t have Bluetooth but the radio frequency was easy to set up just by inserting the dongle into a USB port on my computer. At the back of the keyboard is a switch for on/off, RF and BT, the keyboard also contains a lithium battery and a charging cable so that it can be recharged whilst in use.
the keys are quite reactive to a light touch and I found it very comfortable to use. I have not had it long enough to assess how long the battery will last without charging, I am hoping it will last a long time and with that in mind I would definitely recommend it, if not I will report back at a later date. This product is a bit pricy but it is also a quality item therefor in my opinion, justified.

    Impressive

If I was to describe this keyboard in one word it would be “Amazing”. This is an excellent quality, sturdy, sleek and durable keyboard. It is very easy to configure this to your laptop or PC. Bluetooth setup was very quick. It comes with a separate strip to connect to the keyboard, which gives it a raise, making it very easy to touch type. Wireless connectivity so no more messy desk full of wires. Soft keys that don’t make much noise while typing. Tested the keyboard from a distance of 2m and it worked brilliantly. It comes with rechargeable battery, so you do not need batteries. Can be recharged via USB cable. Quality of the item justifies the price.

Straight off, I love this keyboard. It is pure quality and so well made. I can see that much thought has gone into the design, which is so slim. The keypads look tremendous, and the action resembles what you might see and feel on a laptop. The keypads are backlit. You can connect by either Bluetooth or by USB. The USB cable supplied is of decent quality too. A nice feature is that a magnetic bar is provided instead of folding legs to tilt, which feels sturdy when put on. This brand is quite renowned in the keyboard industry, so not to be mistaken for cheaper products. The controls are conveniently located at the top edge. The keypads are responsive, and you don’t have to bang on them, which is easier on fingers and wrists. Many functions are available, but I have not found the need to customise so much. Overall, I think the price is justified, and it is a good performer. I highly recommend this keyboard.

Great keyboard both bluetooth and wireless with an inbuilt battery. This has plenty of shortcut keys and the battery life is very good. No more fiddling about having to insert new batteries, just plug in ad charge A bonus is that, unlike some other rechargeable items, this one carries on working whilst being charged. Layout is standard UK and the keys are firm. Quite expensive if all you require is a standard keyboard but perhaps the extras warrant the cost.

First impressions taking this beauty out of the box – wow! It looks gorgeous and feels reassuringly solid. It has a really premium, professional aesthetic.

It’s a full sized keyboard with no space wasted. Compared to my current Roccat Horde AIMO keyboard, it’s like someone chopped off all the extra bits around the edges.

Setup was dead easy, I just flicked the switch to BT (Bluetooth) mode and then paired it with my Windows 11 PC. You can use either 2.4GHz Wireless or Bluetooth to connect, the former requiring a small USB dongle to be plugged into your PC. One small criticism – the USB dongle comes wrapped in black wrapping paper and is loose inside the box – I very nearly thought it was just a bit of waste paper and almost threw it away!

In Bluetooth mode, the keyboard won’t work for accessing the UEFI/BIOS. So I plugged in the USB dongle and switched to WiFi mode. No issues accessing the BIOS now.

The Cherry KW 9100 Slim is a joy to type on, in fact I’m typing this review on it. Each keypress feels satisfyingly solid. My old keyboard feels a bit mushy by comparison and has a greater travel distance on each keypress.

Will I retire my aging Roccat Horde Aimo and switch to the Cherry? You know, I think I might. For one thing, the letters are rubbing off the keys on my old keyboard and it’s looking a bit tatty.

There are two essential features I need in a new keyboard – programmable macro keys and dedicated volume controls. Thankfully the Cherry has both. There are several additional keys: Open browser, Lock PC, Volume down, Volume up, Mute & Calculator.

You can reprogram these keys using the Cherry Keys app. It’s really simple to use. I reprogrammed the Browser key to be a macro that fills out my email address, it saves lots of time! I also set the Calculator key to press CTRL+ALT+F1, which is the shortcut for switching audio output between headphones and speakers. I use a free app called SoundSwitcher to accomplish that. The only downside is that if the Cherry Keys app is not running, then your macros won’t work. By contrast, my Roccat Horde keyboard has built-in memory inside the keyboard itself, so it never forgets your macros.

My current Roccat keyboard has RGB backlighting, which helps when gaming in the dark. However, instead of garish gamer features like RGB, the Cherry has reflective metal surrounding each key, which makes it easy to find each key using only the glow from your monitor in a dark room. It’s a nice design touch – the contrast between the silver metal and the black keys really helps each key to stand out even in minimal light.

You get a magnetic stand to raise the angle of the keyboard. This is OK, but when I move the keyboard around my desk, the stand doesn’t always stay securely attached, which is a bit of a pain. I’ll have to remember to pick the keyboard up when I want to move it, not just drag it around my desk.

Cherry are a legendary brand in the world of keyboards. The more I type on this KW 9100, the more my old keyboard starts to look like a cheap toy. Thanks Cherry, you’ve made my day! I’m loving the extra desk space that’s freed up by this compact keyboard.

Update: I have since got a replacement keyboard via Amazon CS and can report that I am not having the same problem regarding the endless typing of the zero key on the numberpad. I initially contacted Cherry who were a bit baffled by the problem but said the keyboard was under warranty so was easy to change with the original seller (Amazon in this case).

Starting with the positives, this thing is slim but feels quite solid for its size. The keys do feel very nice although I’m still not used to it and I sometimes lose my position for some reason. I usually use a Logitech K800 which I am obviously more accustomed to but it may be just the low profile isn’t for me.

The quality of the keys feels nice although a little bit of curvature would be good. Every key is perfectly flat which looks good, but very easy to skip over a key.

I’ve only used the Bluetooth connection to my laptop but it is solid and hasn’t dropped at all.

For the negatives, there is a little magnetic bar you can attach to give the keyboard a little bit of angle. I would prefer it to be a little more raised but I understand that’s less ergonomical and matches other keyboards of this profile. What would be good though is if the rise was integrated into foldable feet since its very easy to damage it if you were to throw this in a bag and the piece of plastic is a bit cheap feeling for the cost of the keyboard. The magnets are solid though.

My biggest issue with the keyboard is I’m unsure if it’s faulty. At two points during use, it just decided to type a lot of 0s. Turning it off and on again didn’t solve the issue. Turning it off and bashing some of the keys seems to stop it for a bit but I’m pretty sure something somewhere has gone wrong. The endless 0s seemed to be triggered when I pressed the period key on the numberpad, the space bar or typing a bit hard. Currently it’s not doing it but something to be aware that you should get checked out.

Overall, it’s a decent keyboard. It may not be up to my liking but the construction is good, feels nice if you like that style and has a nice slim profile. I would just hope other units don’t experience the same problem.

Having recently switched from Mac to PC, I was looking for a low-profile keyboard with similar ergonomics as Apple’s and this keyboard more than fits the bill. If anything, it’s even more comfortable to type with than Apple’s keyboard with greater tactile feedback on the keys. The battery life is insanely good and it looks very nice too. If, like me, you don’t particularly like mechanical keyboards and you’re looking for a solid, no frills wireless keyboard that’s good for both office productivity use and gaming, then look no further – this is that keyboard right here.
