Brillant going to get 2 more very eco on electric
Clean gets hot quick.
Would reccomend.
Like others mine came with an EU plug. Most EU-UK adapters don’t have an earth so using them with this could be lethal. To be safe I snipped the EU plug off and wired on a UK plug, but really it’s outrageous that in 2023 Amazon still sells stuff that could kill people without electrical knowledge.
On the upside this is my first IR panel and I have to say it’s brilliantly effective. When heating a single room it’s cheaper than central heating and it gets you warmed up quickly even when you’re not right next to it. Only downside is once it’s off it cools down fairly quickly too. If you’re using a resistive or electric oil radiator this feels a lot warmer than a 300w heater typically would so certainly worth looking at.
Fitted this in small cloak room with a thermostat and it is keeping it at a constant temperature great product.
This is by far, the best investment I have made! I live in a very very cold property with no heating/single glazed(gaps in windows/crumbling frames and no insulated walls) so I am a fan of this product and would recommend for anyone with properly equipped homes, as I was using an electric oil heater before, and this product is certainly cheaper to run.
Note(Tip): You need to purchase the stand(feet) seperately for portable use.
Can be slightly frustrating adjusting these when heater is portrait way up, so be mindful it doesn’t full forward or cause yourself or someone else injury, so have someone assist you if possible.
Otherwise overall, really grateful and a happy customer!
I have it underneath my study table by my legs while I work as advised here in the other reviews. I have barely used my blow heater since which eats electricity. In the long run it’s definitely going to save me a lot of money. Obviously won’t heat a room but for one person at a table with the back enclosed it’s ideal. Probably the best thing I have purchased in a while because of the money I will save. Thank you!
I bought the 180w to try as a low energy option for heating a small toilet where my central heating struggles to heat. Didn’t do anything. Was going to send back but thought I would try at my desk where I game and work from home.
I normally use a dyson fan to heat the room but this panel gives so much heat to my legs under the desk and will save me heating the whole room unnecessarily.
Was going to send back after it didn’t work for a room but perfect for this application. Easily mounted, I just drove 2 screws through the gable. (Old desk so didn’t care)
Good low cost heating but takes some getting use to as only heat’s direct at fro
I installed for of these (600W) on the angled ceiling/wall (around 45deg) in sunroom/conservatory (approx. 20m3. 2 on one side, two on the other. Room temp from 16deg to 20deg goes in less than an hour. Extremely happy with it. I wasn’t expecting they gonna work so well especially in the high ceiling room like this one.
I have one of these (720W) in the 9m2 bathroom on the ceiling and it doesn’t work as good as that quad setup. Well, much lower power/cubature ratio.
First class heater. Using a 600W in our main living room, (3M x 4M). So relaxing.
Using smaller versions in other rooms.
Latest energy bills are so much lower than we’d expected.
Should not be used for more than 12 hours at a time, without turning off for a while.
I’m not going to rate the heater badly as I didn’t claim to know what 600W is like, the heater could do with being bigger however I like the quality for the price so will probably move it to a different room & get another for the spot I originally intended.
Bought for Additional heat for office workspace but not quite as powerful as we thought infared would be, even in a small space, although it does have a nice gentle way of radiating.
Purchased this to place under my desk to economically keep my legs warm in a large cold room and it achieves this fine, but it is nowhere near powerful enough as a full room heater.
Dic-300W panel — Reasonably pleased with this panel so far, although very plain it seems solidly built and nicely finished. I hope the front surface does not yellow/distort with use and it stays working.
My panel came with a 1.8m lead and standard UK plug, it was fused with a 13A fuse which is far too high when a 3A fuse would do (Easy to change). I confirmed the earth is connected through to the metalwork of the panel which is needed for safety.
In use with my room at the panel’s “maximum recommended ambient temperature of 20C” (According to the enclosed leaflet) the front plastic-like surface of the panel was measured at 70C, this was surprisingly high and would cause a burn very quickly if touched. The rear aluminium backing of the panel measured around 45C which is touchable but not for long. The frame and hanging rails stabilised at around 38C. There was some buckling of the front surface when hot which disappeared when cooled down. I would have preferred a larger panel which ran a little cooler to get the same heating effect. (Instead of having 1kW per square meter like this panel, say something like 750W per square meter would have been better for me.)
In my application (Not room heating) I need very little heat so I intend connecting this small 300W panel via a 400W lighting dimmer switch to provide me with “dimmable” heat. I’ll probably fit a “room style” thermostat as well for safety as it will be left unattended.
Final note – The heat radiation from the front of the panel is not directed in any way, it spreads out in all directions (Unlike a beam of sunlight). If you are more than 15″ or so away from the panel you do not feel much/if any direct heat at all – The panel will still be putting out all its heat into the room just not directly at you.
It warms you up from inside. After half an hour near it it feels like I start radiating heat myself. And it healed my knee pain. Perfect appliance for sitting at the desk or in the lounge also in the bathroom, cheap and very effective. I bought complimentary feet and it stands on the floor. It doesn’t have a switch, so I have to switch it off at the socket though.
Its amazing for the heat panel to heat a single room instead of turn on the radiator for cost efficiency. Its a saving in enery.
This is a totally decent FIR panel, projecting a gentle radiant heat. Imagine being outside on a sunny winter’s day.
Unlike some panels, the rear is cool to the touch. It’s lightweight but seems well made. No unusual offgas smell, either. Happy with my purchase.
Seller is very responsive and helpful. They assure me that the latest batch of products in the warehouse have either the correct UK plugs or a safe adaptor.
EDIT: >>>>> Albeit classified as 180w, my energy monitor registers the output as 250-280w. I ran it for two hours this morning, and I estimate it consumed about 10p worth of electricity. THIS IS NOT CHEAP!!!!!!
I didn’t know what to expect with this little heating panel. I tried it in a small office – where it will be fitted – and so far, it seems to eject plenty of heat while consuming no more energy than two old-style lightbulbs.
The panel doesn’t come with feet; however, the seller kindly sent me a pair separately (I didn’t even ask).
I bought 3 of these, and they’re all different. One has a cable coming out of the side, with a European plug and a UK adapter that doesn’t connect the earth wire. Another has a cable coming out of the back with a UK plug. A third has good mounting rails and a UK plug. I cut all the plugs off to wire into sonoff mini WiFi switches for better control – two of them have no switch on the unit, but the third, which I’m planning to fit on the ceiling, does. They’re cheap, and have a surprisingly high heat output (I bought three 720w panels).
They’re half, or even a quarter, the price of other brands, so I’m happy to deal with the issues, but they’re best suited for those capable of electrical DIY.
The pictures look great, the plain white panels are plain and white, and inoffensive.
Edit – I just spent two hours trying to fit this on the ceiling. Four screws, then slide the panel on to them. Simple, right? No. It was more difficult than any other job I’ve done, because I can’t see or feel, it’s pure guesswork. And when one corner goes on, the others don’t – OK, I’ll slide it back off again now I know where it needs to go… But it won’t let go. I think I may have caught three, or possibly four screws, after about 200 attempts. Even now I’m not certain it’s properly fixed – but I’m not wasting any more time on this. If I did, I wouldn’t need a heater – the frustration warmed me up!
This 180W infrared panel heater is an amazing product that is really easy to install, works efficiently, and looks more discreet than radiators. It’s slim, neat, and unobtrusive. It works by heating you and the objects around you using ultra-efficient radiation.
My living room is quite huge with only one radiator at one end. The room always feels quite cold and this heater is the perfect solution to the problem. It’s really easy to use, and considering the size, it does heat the room quickly and gives out enough warmth to keep the living room nice and cosy. It works super quietly too, which is great. Please note that I have only tried this
It has a few size options, so make sure you get the right size to avoid disappointment.
The only niggle is that it doesn’t come with a UK plug. I have a universal plug adaptor so this solves the problem, but it would be nice if it already came with a UK plug. I also like if it comes with feet so it can stand freely, it would be more convenient to move it anywhere you like.
All in all, I’m very pleased with this panel heater, it’s slim, works quietly, and does the job well. It’s available on Amazon for 49.86 (at the time of writing).
UPDATE 07/12/2022 – a few days into a clod spell.
Like many people our fuel bill has shot through the roof. We work from home and the central heating doesn’t let our room temperature go below 15C during the working day. It is still pretty uncomfortable even with fleecies and feather gilets and hats being worn. This is the difference between cold misery and something a lot better than tolerable. The panel is positioned about a meter away from me at floor level and both my upper and lower body can feel a subtle warmth. And all this from a 180W unit. I am pleasantly surprised as my other heaters weigh in at 500 to 2000W. So a single kWhr of consumption will last me five and a half hours – excellent. That’s nearly a working day for 35 pence.
I’d add that this needs to be in a draught-free space and close to you. The surface gets hot so care on keeping children at bay is required
To be clear this heats you and not the surrounding air
Original review follows.
This heater radiates infra red at you rather than consuming more energy heating the space by convection. ALAS, virtually impossible to review during a heatwave but I will return to this review in the autumn for a full test drive. 50 is great and two to three times cheaper than, say, Fischer heaters of similar design. Amazingly light too. Five stars based on the promise this panel offers.
Convenient to place in front of a bookcase when not in use. Only used in earnest once so far to take the chill off by raising the temperature a couple of degrees. Did not take long. No problem to control temperature – simply unplug!
The panel was delivered quickly, but came without standalone feet. The seller did quickly agree to send these, though they took a few weeks to arrive.
Now all is good and I am very satisfied. The panel is a great secondary heating resource in my living room, and is very effective and cost effective to run.
Good product and overall pleased with the seller.
Excellent item and fast shipping.
I would recommend it to anyone, for us it’s working very well. For all the people interested make sure you buy the right one for the size of your room.
