This is the first cup I have bought that actually keeps drinks warm for hours! I know it’s a wee bit pricier than most but you really do get what you pay for with these cups.
They are really easy to wash too, always a bonus.
No spills either as you press the button when you are ready to take a drink.
I like the size and have around 3 variants from the same maker, the other click lids always leak after about 6 months and the seal breaks, this type never have this issue and will last a good few years.
I’ve had many Contigo Westloops. But if you want the very best you need to go for the stainless uncoated version, in which case you can put both cap and cup in the dishwasher. The coated colours although great, over time the coating chips off, even with following the no dishwasher instructions. Go for the stainless!
Been using it every day since I had it. Fits very well in the hand. But it does only keep the drink hot for probably three and a half hours. I’ve Knocked. It. over a couple times. And it didn’t spell a drop. overall, a good product.
I have had 3 or 4 of these now over the years and wouldn’t bother with anything else. They take some serious grief in my line of work and these are faultless. they keep my tea hot enough to drink for 4 or 5 hours if needed.
Unfortunately mine didn’t pass the 100% leakproof test, so I wouldn’t recommend tossing it in a bag. The mouthpiece seal works great but the liquid can still get through the actual lid. Personally, this is not a huge problem for me as have a little slot in my bag that keeps the bottle upright but just something to bare in mind if it’s important for others.
Cleaning is fine if you know what you’re doing, you have to play around with the mechanics of the Autoseal a little bit. I’ve had mine for a few weeks and the colour hasn’t eroded like I’ve seen being said in other reviews.
Overall, a great thermos to keep your drink warm. Would recommend 🙂
Initially dubious about the product and price, but the amount I have spent on crappy cups over the years does not compare. I can get from 7amish to 3pm and my coffee will still be drinkable, certainly not boiling but drinkable.
My only issue is the product is that good it keeps my drink too warm. Often I forget this and end up burning my mouth as it’s still piping 2 hours later. (can’t have it all really, eh)

I like the way it opens, and I’m more than happy with the leakage, as it doesn’t leak at all… not a drop, which is perfect for someone on the move.

Is keeping my drink hotter than previous travel mugs. I like that you can lock the press open button to save accidentally opening it in your bag. Excellent easy to drink mechanism.
This is my second one,after the first one disappeared, it doesn’t leak, I’ve tried in many conditions at work,bouncing around,up and down, rolling around the floor, it still works, The only bad thing ,cleaning the top, not easy, duo to the mechanism inside .
You have to press a lever every time you want to drink out of the mug so it is always closed. There is also a lock that stops the lever being pressed so it would take a bizarre set of circumstances for it to leak. What lets it down badly is that it does not keep your drink hot for all that long.
I have wanted one of these drink cups for ages to take to work. I have used similar ones before but they always seemed to leak. This make was recommended to me by a family member and I must say it is brilliant. My tea stays hot and no leaks hooray!! I would have given 5 stars but I received it with a dent in the bottom the photo doesn’t show it very well, that was disappointing. I received it the day before going on holiday so didn’t return as I wanted to take it with me. I would definitely recommend this product.
Excellent quality mug flask, totally leak proof unlike most other out there. Only downside I can see is that the flask body is made of thinner metal than before therefore it does not keep hot drinks as hot for as long as the older models did.
Works very well, keeps coffee hot all day. Is easier to clean than other brands. Colour and shine haven’t chipped or anything after lots of use. Very nice colour as well. And one big advantage is that it’s thinner than other flasks so fits normally in car drinks holders but it also has a proper lid and doesn’t spill. Overall very good flask.
This is a well designed, spill proof thermal cup, in a range of colours. We chose the dark blue, to use when travelling in our car, to protect the interior from spills and stains. It is easy to use, and virtually fool proof. It maintains the temperature, hot or cold, very well. Not the cheapest, but good value for price paid, if aesthetics, quality and performance are important to,you.
I was pretty horrified to be spending this much on a travel mug but I love the design of it and the choice of colours and it promised cold stuff would stay cold for up to 10 hours. I didn’t believe it but it’s absolutely true. I take it to bed every night as I’m often thirsty at night and it stays icy cold ALL night. I put in a couple of ice cubes and they often haven’t even dissolved by morning !
It really is leak proof too. I e also tested it with hot drinks but only for 3 or 4 hours and it kept things drinkable hot. I really recommend this mug and it’s so good I’ll buy my husband one too ( as he keeps stealing mine) .
Great solution for taking hot drinks on travels, have found that it is too effective and unless you add cool water to get your drink to the perfect temperature straight away it will remain boiling ALL DAY.
Does exactly what it says it does. It’s my husbands second one as he broke the lid by accident. He wanted the same model as it had been so good. He shoves it in his bag and it never leaks. Perfect for a train commute.
I rarely leave reviews on Amazon but this product was so good I simply had to leave this. I’ve used many travel cups before but this the only be that has proven to be truly leakproof! Additionally, it keeps my coffee warm also. Well worth a purchase and can’t recommend this enough.
These cups keeps your drinks hot enough for up to 6 hours. Definitely buy another one. Great if you are work in the medical profession ie… pharmacy, doctor, nurse etc. No more cold tea/coffee drinks.
This product does exactly as advertised, it keeps my coffee hot for at least a couple of hours, and keeps it drinkable for another,it is used every day, I love it, and highly recommend it. I now have 2.(1 in use and 1 in dishwasher)
… it keeps drinks hot for hours, the drinking mechanism means no spilled drinks (and I’m really clumsy), and it looks good. I broke the lid on my last one after years of daily use and replaced it straight away as it’s just too good.
1)before filling with your beverage,warm the inside of the flask with boiling water for several minutes;
2)empty,&then fill with your tea or coffee;
3)add nearly boiling milk.
The beverage will remain warm enough to be acceptable for five hours;however,if about half of this liquid is consumed before the five hour period,then it will only remain warm enough for about two hours.
Someone said that drops linger in the dispensing hole,I haven’t found this to be the case,but they could be easily blotted using a tissue or paper towel,the flask would then be perfectly dry¬ make anything in your bag wet.It is completely leak-proof,easy to keep clean&use.If smells do occur through not cleaning sufficiently,then soak in bicarbonate of soda&lemon juice.
I have no hesitation in recommending this flask.
Excellent thermos cup really nice to drink out of so easy to use but the finish of this colour seems to absorb every dirt particle and stain and it is really hard to get out, love the colour tho
Perfect for getting a cup of coffee into you on the way to work. Hole to drink a bit small but stops me from spilling so all good really. Cleans easily. Looks nice when I get it out of my bag and the seal works perfectly. Recommend.
Even without using the (excellent) lock system, nothing leaks out of this bad boy without me wanting it to – I sling it carelessly into my bag – it’s not bothered . It laughs in the face of being knocked to the floor. And most gratifyingly of all, when I put tea into it, a beverage that is most definitely a tasty cup of tea comes out! It’s a miracle! Total game-changer as I work in an environment where I cannot have an uncovered hot drink – but with this cup I have no worries about spills.
Having test-driven mine for several weeks, I’ve now bought a second one for my husband, who seems equally impressed
Good well made product. I like the way it seals after each use ( can’t forget to close) so no spills. It’s also capable of being locked. Easy to clean. My only slight criticism is the size of the outlet it is quite small, so if you want to glue cold drinks after exercising etc it might not suit. An outlet twice the size would not be as wide as the cups you get in coffee outlets. Lastly it keeps cold cold & hot hot.

I contacted the company via email stating the above problem with the bad taste and had a very quick response suggesting several things to do, I had already done them all part from one. This one thing made all the difference, lemon juice! I am so pleased I didn’t just discard my cup as I love it, the best one I’ve ever had. It does every thing it said it would, definitely keeps my drink hot for hours and cold drinks cold. I recommend this product 100%.
– Completely leakproof thanks to the locking function. I’ve currently got this filled with water and upside down (to try get the coffee smell out of the lid!) on my kitchen counter and not a drop has come out.
– Hot drinks have stayed hot for me so far (although I’ve not left them longer than two hours).
– It’s a great size for throwing in a bag.
– The colour is lovely, although I certainly wouldn’t describe it as dark plum. It’s more of a heather purple.
The not so good:
– I don’t think it keeps cold drinks particularly cold. I fill with water from the fridge and add ice cubes and it’s not been ice cold an hour later on a sunny day (still relatively cold though).
– As mentioned above, it’s hard to get coffee smells out of it, but this would probably be true of any flask.
– It really needs a handle or carry loop!
Overall, I’m happy with my purchase
I don’t think I would have paid full price for this cup and I’m glad I didn’t. The button to open is a bit stiff and sometimes has to be fiddled with to get it to snap closed again. Keeps hot drinks hot for 4-5 hours though as long as the top is closed properly.
I love this one, spill free and keep my drinks warm for couple of hours.
Only one thing to be careful of while enjoying drink is that when you press the spout to open steam comes out so drink safely.
Like the locking mechanism and it’s easy to clean. Also retains heet well.
Nice quality, seals well and cleans well. However honestly I find it starts to go cold within a few hours on days around 10c. Imagine less than this it wouldnt last long.
Fantastic quality as always from Contigo. The fact that you can clean the inside of the lid with the click of a button for access is superb. The one handed operation to be able to drink is a plus and no silly deep lips on the top so you can get a really good seal with your lips.

This is a great thermal travel mug. I use it to take a hot drink with me in the car and also to have one for over night. The mug is easy to use and seems completely leak proof. It keeps my drink hot for hours; in fact, if I know I need to drink from it in less than two hours, then I have to add some cold water when I make it. I love the colour of the mug. They are expensive and I’m not sure I would have bought mine except this colour was going for half price! This made it an extremely good purchase.
Absolutely love my flask. Holds heat for hours! Really easy to clean, and lovely size. Best flask I have found!
Fantastic travel mug that does exactly what is described. Keeps hot drinks hot…..for an age. A brilliant purchase….only wish we had bought them sooner.
Also I was worried about the paint finish, but I recently tropped it and the mark is visible but minimal, so I feel like I’ll have this for a couple years at least (then I’ll buy the same one again).
This bottle is not available in other countries. I have to order it from USA. Still this is our best purchase. Price seems little expensive but overall worth to buy
The lid has a button to release your liquid for drinking and a lock for when the flask is in your bag to prevent accidental spillages.
The lids are dishwasher safe so are easy to clean and although Contingo recommends not to put the flasks in the dishwasher the only issue I’ve found is that the colour will peel/flake off so you end up with a silver flask whatever colour you originally chose.
However, there are two major issues with these flasks
Firstly, they are too good: I have regularly been unable to drink my tea hours after filling the flask as it is still too hot to drink without scalding my mouth. It is best to leave the lid off for a while once filled to allow your drink chance to cool before fitting the lid.
Secondly, never let your coffee-drinking wife borrow your flask. Once used for coffee, there is no return for tea drinkers like me as everything just tastes of coffee afterwards! My last purchase was the bright red flask as I thought this would make it clear which was mine, but no my wife now has a third flask instead.
It is completely leakproof and easy to drink from by just pressing a button.
The mug is extremely good at keeping your drink hot. I left my coffee in there for over an hour in freezing cold weather. When I went to drink it, it was like it had just come out of the kettle!
Being a delivery driver I’ve had quite a few different travek cups/mugs.
This is the best I’ve had.
I really like it.
The only thing some might be put off by is that it keeps drinks too hot to drink for at least 90 minutes but that suits me.
After three years this is still going strong and it hasn’t spilt a drop in all that time.
The colour is slowly coming away in small areas but it doesn’t matter as it doesn’t affect its use.
The top is a bit awkward to clean but a bottle brush really helps.

After finally deciding to replace my much loved and much used Thermos cup, I decided to give this a go. Glad I did as well. It keeps my coffee hot for 4-5 hours and is completely leakproof. I love the locking function as well so you can not accidently press the button and cause a leak. Fully recommended
Only down side is that in the underside of the lid, the spring mechanism for the drinking hole is all exposed and therefore it’s hard to get in and around that area to clean properly. I would have given top marks if it wasn’t for this.
I decided to treat myself and opted for the pink flask- I have a different brand water bottle and a food flask in pink already so why not get this to match!
It arrived quickly and as described.
I checked the seal to make sure it doesn’t spill, it doesn’t. I particularly like the lock for when I’m out and about so it doesn’t leak in my bag.
I can’t say how long it keeps the tea warm because I end up drinking it quickly but definitely a game changer for any new parents or just those who’d like a hot drink on the go!
My partner continues to be particularly impressed that the mug doesn’t leak all over his bag when he throws it in there at the start of the day.
Having bought my own after seeing his excitement, I can now personally confirm it’s super easy to clean, totally leak proof (I accidentally kicked it over in assembly last week without making a mess), and keeps my drinks warm for at least 4 hours at a time by which point I’m usually done with my first drink and making my second one.
The leak proofness of this mug is particularly handy when I’m making a drink in a very short amount of time between lessons as I can just throw everything in there (instant coffee, sugar, hot water, milk), lock the lid, and give my mug a good shake on the way to teach my next class.
The only negative I have is that the dark plum is a little greyer in shade than i anticipated, but there’s always a little discrepancy between screen and reality. My partner’s royal blue one is absolutely beautiful and the red I gave my friend was vibrant as well.
Note: I’ve read a few recent reviews that seem to be concerned that production quality has declined, leading the mug to stay hot for a way shorter time. I’m going to put that to the test today and let you know (14/12/22)
Edit: Tested it as promised and it’s as good as it ever was, providing hot Earl Grey tea this afternoon all hug-a-mug in the sub-zero coldwave in the beautiful north-east of England. If this West Loop stainless steel version had the option of a rubberised grip, it would be be even better. If the reliability of this and the amazing spout mechanism was combined with other, better-looking Contigo mug form factors, it may come close to perfect. (18/12/22)
Whilst it’s my go-to cup that I use daily for coffee, I can’t swap it’s use when I want to take a different drink out on a walk (i.e. cold water), and that’s because while the mechanism inside does allow you to get right in and clean it, it is made from plastic, which the coffee then clings to no matter how often or well you clean it. That coffee taste then transfers into other drinks.
Overall, I’m very pleased with it for it’s intended purpose (coffee drinking), but just feel like it loses half of its appeal if you can’t also use for cold drinks (I’m aware that’s a case specific grumble as, for instance, a tea drinker may not have the same issue……but I suppose this is a case specific review!)
