More of a palm rather than claw mouse which I usually use but have to say now I am used to it, it’s great.
If you have ICUE lighting from corsair it works seamlessly and actually has more rgb areas than most mice on the market. You can change the shape of the mouse to suit with adjustable sides and polling rate is fully adjustable.
Yes it’s expensive but the quality is there. Plus it has the aded bonus of a full suite of connectivity. Wireless via a dongle, bluetooth or fully wired with USB. Personally I can’t fault it and would highly recommend the dark core rgb se to anyone
As someone with small hands this fits perfectly! Its not too heavy either and the little thumb/pinky rest is comfy. The wireless connection to the dongle is strong, I only experience slight lag if I have a bunch of things plugged in and block the path from the mouse to PC. Buttons all feel good and even though its light weight it doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. I always recommend Corsair for any PC peripherals 🙂
his has been the first wireless mouse I have owned and so far it has not let me down, I have yet to run into issues that have been mentioned in previous reviews hence the five stars, in terms of gaming this mouse has been fantastic to use I play call of duty and destiny 2 regular and it has been a great aid to my gaming. are there cons with the mouse ya sure I’m not going to deny those but every mouse has negative sides.
I find the dark core comfortable and easy to use great for gaming and productivity being able to set the dpi to three different options is good it’s all I need tbh, I have two set for general use and the third for gaming. I have found the mouse to be accurate so far the optional side cover is nice, I don’t use it as I find its default configuration to be comfortable and better for me over a longer period.
Love all the RGB effects although I do think they could have incorporated more of the mouse EG There’s a shiny strip along the bottom of the mouse that should have been RGB to line up with the small RGB spots on the left and right hand sides
Love the fact its USB-C
Love the weight
Love the extra grips you get in the box
Love the DPI modes
Nothing really to complain about here
The mouse is amazing however my hands are fairly big and at times when playing games I accidentally hit the dpi button since its so close to the clicke
I’ve been using this as my main driver for a year:
This is not the perfect mouse you’d expect for the most expensive (or one of the most expensive):
– my finger seems to be trembling on the wheel instead of feeling confident;
– the sensor sometimes is confused so definitely not a pro gamer’s choice;
– no weight options;
– battery is built-in and so you can’t easily replace it;
– you have to remember to charge it every day or at least it feels like it;
– the hand doesn’t seem to be resting very naturally / comfortably on it (feels like it’s made for left-handed people or something is similarly wrong anyway), which seems to be twisting my arm (wrist), although this might be because of my very specific use case that might be niche – I use it in bed – I’m that tied to my computer;
However, it has spoiled me and has ruined cheap mice for me – the way it feels in the hand (I’m talking about the touch of its surface and about the perceived weight), and, of course, the main reason I chose it – the two wings. Another upside to balance the downsides regarding the battery – the fact that you can always just connect it through the/a USB(-C) cable or that there’s also the option of Bluetooth should make up for that (plus it will also charge at the same time, and in no time…). I just can’t stand the hollow-feeling hard-but-thin-and-too-smooth plastic cheap mice I have around
Honestly really love the mouse. Saw all the negative comments but I went for it anyways and no regrets. I really like the weight, it’s not a feather, nor a dumbbell, feels great. Battery life is incredible and just turns into a standard wired mouse if charging. Only marked it down a star as I plugged the receiver USB into my pc which is under the left side of my desk and I experienced a few drop outs in game as there’s beastly draws in the way. I’ve plugged the USB into the port on my mouse mat now and haven’t had a single one.
Overall really happy with the mouse, money worth spe
…than I know what to do with, but then I’m old and way behind the times. Works great and goes well with my Corsair Keyboard and mousemat. Would recommend.
seem to be able to game for ages! haven’t had a moment where it has run out mid game. Took some getting used to being wireless but fine after about a week.
I get a magnetic usbC cable aswell and with that is very userfriendly to charge, but the battery is good for 20-25 hour of gaming!! Actually this tripple combo was the best deal ever!
I’ve used a lot of gaming mice before but was genuinely surprised at how nice and ergonomic it felt in the hand.
As most corsair products generally, great build quality and ease of use. Only issue I have isnt the mouse itself but the ICUE software as it can be a bit fiddly!
The mouse is precise and comfortable to use. The wireless charging feature is very convenient and I can simply pop the mouse onto a charging pad each night and wake up to a full battery that will last up to 2 days from a full charge. Battery mileage would be better if I turned off the RGB.
It’s worth noting that this is a gaming mouse with a high DPI and high polling rate. It is not an appropriate comparison for some reviewers to complain that the battery does not last as long as it does in their basic Logitech office mouse.
I’ve noticed that the mouse wheel tends to pick up some debris, which in turn interferes with the scrolling function and can make the mouse scroll upward on occasion while you’re trying to scroll down. This can usually be resolved by blowing into the gaps beside the mouse wheel, but it tends to happen again a couple of days later. It’s an annoyance and the mouse loses a star for it.
On the topic of scrolling, the mouse scrolls quite slowly by default. I recommend going into the windows mouse settings and changing “Choose how many lines to scroll each time” to at least 5. This will speed up scrolling and make the experience far more responsive.
Fits my hand perfectly, the charging cable is a little hard to plug in and battery life is decent but You have to turn the rgb off so the battery lasts longer.
Incredibly comfy mouse, as someone with big hands most mice give me cramp and tiring in the hand, this is a delight to rest on. The buttons all press nicely and are positioned well. I’ve had a few Corsair products now and a have impressed me. The battery life is very decent, although it doesn’t warn you about low battery until it’s at 5% which is very low since draining or over charging batteries reduces their lifespan. Overall, after 6-months of using this, I’m very satisfied.
I have had issues with Logitech Mice in the past, so decided to give Corsair a try. This mouse is so comfortable to use, having built-in wireless charging is great, I just put my mouse on charge at the end of the day and I never have any low battery issues.
RGB is a nice feature and it can sync with the other Corsair IQUE products. I find the software a lot easier to use than logitech and not that system intensive
Good mouse only issue is the battery and the Bluetooth could be better would recommend using the usb cable that comes with it for playing apex and cod Bluetooth seems off Playing FPS games When aiming
Hi, I loved this mouse. I have been using it for just under a year. Comfort and usability are for me fantastic, As I have always used Mad Catz before. However last week it started double-clicking and nothing I have tried has stopped it. So now I have an expensive bit of plastic trash. If you can get this cheap take a chance it’s great to use, If not give it a pass. A shame as there are so few mice with thumb and pinky rest.
Extra, Corsair are sending me a replacement mouse. So Fantastic service from them.
Brought to replace a Razer Mamba that was on its way out.
Pros:
* Comfortable grip and good size
* Interchangeable thumb grip
* Excellent DPI & Response
* Mouse clicks are responsive (as is the mouse wheel)
* Good configuration options via the ICUE software
Cons:
* Battery life seems to be somewhat lacking compared to the mamba, however, it is rechargeable via USB-C.
* ICUE Software can be a bit resource hungry
Personal use and views:
It’s a bit heavier than your standard mouse but that’s one thing I don’t mind considering you get wireless charging that basically allows the mouse to never run out of battery as long as you put it on the charging station once every 2 or so days
The interchangeable ergonomic grip finger shield thingy was the thing I first looked for before buying a wireless mouse because I’ve got big hands but the mouse is big enough for me to not really need it yet I use it regardlessly
The liftoff point is incredibly low so you don’t even need to lift it up more than 2mm to adjust the mouse.
The pads itself glide like butter on my mouse pad but pressing down combined with the hefty weight could make it stick a little, but it’s honestly very rare for me to press it down that hard and may be like this due to the mouse pad itself
Onto the software:
There are a lot of interesting lighting effects but I like to keep it simple since I’m not really looking at the mouse constantly so I use just a solid colour like green and the “lightning” effect on click that summons a pink lightning that goes well with my apex 7 effects
You can probably pair the lighting with any RGB fans from Corsair but on-hand RGB is enough for me.
Another cool thing is the remapping of the buttons since there’s a lot of them. It’s even possible to do macros which I never used but it’s there when needed. The only button that you cannot change is the middle profile switcher which makes sense but I kind of wish it was possible.
So there are a lot of pros and possibly more personal cons like the weight and size.
You can save profiles that go onto the hardware (mouse) itself without the need of software to be constantly running but the options are slightly more limited although that also allows for any other use of this mouse to have a little bit more personality to it on other non-pc devices.
The software also allows for a task bar widget to show the current battery charge level consisting of full high medium and critical which the led under the profile button will show according to when it’s needed to be charged.
Slight infractions:
The only thing that annoys me constantly is the tiny piece of acrylic like surface on the bottom of the mouse (pic #4 slightly blurry; forgot to clean the lens lul) that sticks to my hands when they get slightly warm and feels gross (only the right side of my palm, rest feels fine for the most part but still weird choice of material on a mouse of all things); seriously, why is it there? Might have to sandpaper it if I feel it’s too much for me to HANDLE. Get it?
Also the pic #1 shows the placement of the mouse required for qi charging which is way back and kinda awkward when the 3rd party charger is on the smaller side and basically always feels wrong to put it on it that way but doesn’t affect the effectiveness of the charging itself (still incredibly fast).
After a bad experience with a previous Corsair mouse I was naturally apprehensive to purchase another, but with such success with a Corsair keyboard I wanted to try another another model on the basis that maybe my previous mouse’s model had poor quality of parts selected and I would have better luck with a different newer model.
So far I’m impressed, this mouse if feature rich whilst having a minimalist feel, and I’ve always loved the functionality of the iCue companion software.
The only downside I experienced was some interference from my system that caused some connection issues but after moving the wireless receiver to the extended port on my keyboard (Corsair K95) I’ve had no issues.
With regards to longevity, only time can tell, and will update this post if I have issues in the future.
Very comfortable mouse and looks a lot better in person. Battery life will last 3 days of a good amount of use before charge. Only issue is the rang of the adapter as I had to move the dongle from the back of the pc (under the desk) to the keyboard usb slot in order to stop is skipping every know and then.
I bought this mouse to replace an older Logitech wired mouse. I was a bit worried when buying it as I’d heard wireless mouse weren’t as good for gaming (it’s main purpose), however, after owning it for a few months I love it. The speed and responsiveness of the mouse is amazing, and having the freedom and no wire I think helps as well, as you don’t have a cable getting caught in things all the time.
Battery life is pretty good, I find the mouse lasts about a week or so with custom solid lighting set on it, whilst gaming most nights of the week for 3-4 hours per night, plus a small amount of work use during the day as well.
The only downside to mine is I didn’t get the SE, which has wireless charging as well. Having to plug in to charge it and have a thick USB cable plugged in is a pain when you’re trying to play games. If I had to buy another, I’d definitely buy the SE with a wireless charging mouse mat as well
After experiencing severe problems two separate Asus mice, and consequently returning them, I purchased this mouse hoping to at last have bought a problem-free product.
I’ve been using this mouse extensively for the last couple of months, and it has yet to let me down. Button presses are all fine, no double activations or missed activations, accurate sensor, only complaint I have is the lesser battery life when compared to other wireless mice. However, it’s still acceptable and I can live with it. I’ve managed to accidentally press the DPI buttons from time to time, but that’s more just me getting used to the placement.
Recommended for anyone looking for a mouse that will look good, not give them headaches, and perform as expected!
I bought this because my old Dark Core RGB SE under warranty needed repair so I was looking for a new mouse and I didn’t want to upgrade. I bought the new Dark Core RGB PRO SE because I discovered a double click problem with the old Dark Core and was wondering if the new suffer from the same problem and it does. I tested also the new Ironclaw Wireless and yes it suffers too.
The problem occurs when you assign volume under actions to any button. The pc volume icon on the system tray if you check your pc it usually has 100 levels and your speakers will have 50. Change any button to Volume up & Volume down and on your speakers start on Volume level 1 and the Corsair Mouse if you press what ever button is volume up or down it will jump to 3 or 5 so on the system tray Volume it will jump 4 to 6.
After discovering this problem I realised how springy the buttons are. The old Dark Core scroll wheel is excellent – smooth and quiet. The new Dark Core is a bit more tactile and that’s OK except scrolling up it’s a bit noisy and squeaky a bit like the ASUS ROG Chakram scroll wheel which is very bad, quiet scrolling down but very squeaky when scrolling up.
I tested quiet a lot of new Mice to see if they had the double click issue and not one of them did, they all changed the Volume level on my SoundBlasterX Katana one level at a time and watching the sytem tray Volume level it’s moving correctly at 2 at a time.
I hope Corsair fix this problem so maybe the solution is to change all the switches to optical switches like the Razer Basilisk Ultimate, Razer Viper Ultimate because the forward button is very springy and the up DPI up sounds plastic when the down DPI sounds solid.
So some more work needed on the DPI buttons. I like having the DPI buttons so keep those and change them all to optical then this mouse would be 5 Stars.
Update: I sent my old Dark Core RGB SE to Corsair under warranty because one of the lights stopped working properly and Corsair replaced to with the New Dark Core RGB PRO SE. Thank you Corsair. So I’ve upated to 5 Stars.
Update: Double Click Fixed. I just checked and Corsair have fixed the double click issue I had with volume levels. Thank you Corsair so this review definitely deserves 5 Stars.
