Really great product, the ergonomics of this is glove like, nice touch with the led lighting and adjustable cursor speed controls at the touch of a button indicated with lights on the side, the matt black color looks the part with the Corsair illuminated logo on the back. Very pleased with this product!
Initially I ordered a keyboard at the same time and wireless receivers interfeered one with the other driving me crazy. You can use only one receiver and all will work fine. The iCue software is clunky and difficult to use to begin with though. I am Corsair’s loyal customer and I was hoping for something a bit better.
Mouse has held up well over 3 years, however the grip has collected quite a bit of dirt and is difficult to clean without actually damaging the group, ended up buying a new mouse due to this, however served me well over the years
Good mouse, shame the software is not very good, not straight forward to program buttons.
An excellent mouse. The only flaw is that it doesn’t use USB-C for charging. Legacy cables that have to be put in the right-way-up are so 2010.
It’s big and i’m unlucky. If you have big hands it’s worth to try it, but if you’re on the medium-side you’ll have a bad time even after a couple of days of continuous use.
I’m unlucky because i got used to receiving faulty stuff. 2 days in with this mouse and my iCue started playing around and after a reset i realised that was the DPI switch which was the issue.
I had to exchange it for a Corsair SABRE RGB PRO CHAMPION SERIES as it’s aswell smaller (hopefully) and more robust (and i’ve seen it’s A LOT lighter (=75gr) than the Ironclaw (=103gr)
The mouse is quite configurable, especially with the iCue software. However, the middle click is troublesome, and 6 months into its use, I have to push down rather hard on the middle button for it to register (well beyond the inital click).
I’ve requested warranty support, shall update.
I had the Logitech G502 hero before this, I liked it but I wanted a bigger mouse that fits my hand better.
This was it. I also opted for wireless because if I ever get good enough at the games I play then the slight delay may make an impact, at which point this mouse can go wired.
Also, the ICue app is really good, having written a short script just so that LGHub would correctly launch it wasn’t worth the hassle. But ICue makes it easy for me to have multiple profiles on the mouse. I have one full of command shortcuts, copy past delete save, and another for key bings for the games I play and can swap between them at the tap of a button.
Lovely chunky boi mouse for my paw-like hands. Matches my Corsair keyboard nicely, and feels great to use. The iCue software is about as clear as mud to reprogram the buttons though. I failed several times for it to actually change them and eventually gave up and will look into this properly later on. You shouldn’t need to google how to do something as simple as that :/ This is why I gave the mouse 4/5 stars.
Im not able to reprogram the buttons without the app (icue) and I haven’t been able to get this app as the download just keeps failing.
Otherwise, very nice mouse. Comfortable and smooth and just good all round.
Will update if the app thing is fixed or just works
The mouse is very good but, the scroll wheel broke in bit less than 4 months with minimal pressure on it, then i kept using it, and around 2 months later the right click stops working and at that point it was unusable. The RGB syncs up very well with all the other corsair products still looks great, just a shame that its not made too last.
Using this mouse in wireless mode on my Corsair MM350 PRO pad feels great. I mainly play shooters and strategy games, so I don’t need all of the buttons that this mouse has (I only use left/right and thumb), therefore can’t really comment on the feel and position of the buttons that I don’t use, but I can at least say that they don’t get in the way.
It’s worth checking to see if the weight of this mouse is to your liking. It’s not heavy, but it’s slightly heavier than some other offerings. I personally like the weight of the mouse – not too light, not too heavy.
Ergonomically, the mouse is great. I use a “palm grip” technique and have no issues moving the mouse around, even at speed. The mouse wheel is solid.
So before this, my mouse was a M65 (FPS) from Corsair, and i’m happy to say that this is going to replace both my Gaming mouse and my WFH computer mouse (a RAT mmote) mouse feels comfortable in hand and all around very nice to work with, buttons are not overwhelming and very ergonomic, epseically he DPI switches. I find it better to tie in with one supplier, so there is no unecessary additional bloatware. Corsair Icue/Razer Chroma/Steel Series Engine. iCue takes a bit of getting used to.
To take your settings anywhere (ie stored on the mouse), where you can store upto 3 you need to use the HARDWARE options inside the Icue and sync that down (so hardware lighting or actions) and, initially confusingly these will not function if the icue software is running. So as long as you have one comptuer with the software on, you should be able to set up across multiple devices happilly. Annoyingly as hell however, “hardware options” do not work with wireless devices in bluetooth mode, which nearly kills it for me, but not the worst thing in the world to work around (just need to remap all my work settings to keyboard buttons) Bluetooth mode, its basically just a 5 button mouse.
This is hands down, the best mouse I have used. Its SO good to be free of wires and not get all tangled up. Ugh.
The wireless standard that Corsair use with their wireless mice is super fast. I think its one of the fastest on the market if not THE fastest. Slip Stream i think its called, super fast, lag and latency free.
The little slip stream dongle is super tiny so its easy to hide it away either on the back of your computer or like me, in my corsair mousepad. the range is pretty damn big, I can stand in my bathroom and still wiggle the mouse around on the screen. Some 12 feet away!! Though…why you would be THAT far away is a mystery to me.
As usual with Corsair you need IQue in order to change the way the mouse works. You can change the polling rate, mouse sensitivity, you can even reprogramme the buttons. And of course, you can use IQue to control the lighting. The canned effects are, kinda lame and limited. But with a bit of time you can create pretty much ANY effect that you want to.
Battery life IS affected by lighting, cos duh. But, personally, I only have the logo lit up. Cos the others you cant really see the others as they are at the front of the mouse. Whereas the logo is on the back where you put your hand.
A full charge can actually last a couple of days if you only use the logo lit up. Once it gets to medium battery though, that will only last about a day or so.
One thing that really cheeses me off, is the fact that there is NO way of getting the battery level to display on the mouse itself using the lights. Which really sucks. So, the only way of seeing how much charge you have, is to use the little battery level thingie on your taskbar on the far right. High, Medium, or Low. No percentage, which, is annoying but not that important.
Overall its a VERY damn good mouse, and I would take this over any wired mouse any day of the week.
Had this for a month now, it’s a solid mouse and fits well in my hand.
Moving from the harpoon wired to this one was quite the weight change, the Ironclaw is definitely heavier but I prefer it.
It works well and not much to complain about. BUT.
I do wish all the buttons were their own bindable buttons like MB4 & MB5.
The two buttons at the front and the button on the top of the side, you have to bind to a keyboard key before being able to use them.
Its not awful or anything, just a bit annoying.
Overally Happy with the purchase and haven’t had it die on me yet. I’m keeping on top of it being charged!
Edit: After a year and a month of having this mouse, the Middle Mouse button has finally broken. It now freely spins and will not scroll, but I can press it down. After thorough research it is a common problem with this mouse and I will not be buying another one until they improve the materials of the Scroll Wheel
Bought it to replace my 7 years old Logitech Diablo mouse. Wanted something wireless but that I could still use as a wired mouse if the need arised. Suffice to say this mouse was perfect.
Pros
– great for gaming and work
– perfect for big hands
– lots of settings
– customizable RGB
Cons
– doesn’t have the longest battery life. Lasts around 3 days with 8 hours use each day. I have the cable on my desk so I can plug it in and continue working so I don’t mind it.
UPDATE – having sent off the mouse for RMA I received a replacement very quickly, so while still unhappy that it broke within a short period of time the RMA process was easy and fast.
I’ve had this mouse about 3 months and just now the mouse wheel stopped working and I’m just outside the return window with Amazon so having to use RMA to get the mouse fixed. I’m really disappointed that the wheel which I really don’t use that much is no longer working. I’ve owned quite a few mice over the years and never have I had the wheel stop working/broken. I paid good money for this and to have it break through normal use in such a short period of time is appalling. I’m back on my 15 USB mouse I bought 3 years which still works perfectly. I’m not sure I would recommend this mouse to anyone unless you only use it for a few hours a day, besides the wheel being broken the batteries really don’t last nearly long enough for all-day general use plus gaming in the evenings as I’m charging it constantly. Its not all bad, it has some nice features, and I have other corsair equipment and the profiles I can create in iCue and then control from the mouse are nice and it fits nicely in my hand and has a nice weight/balance when using it.
I bought this mouse as a replacement for the Corsair M65 Elite as it was just too small for my hand and made it uncomfortable. This mouse is not just of use for people with large hands as my young son also uses this mouse in preference over the M65 Elite. It is a comfortable no frills and spills mouse and does it’s job perfectly. The only one problem I have found with this mouse is the middle wheel. It works perfectly but after a period of time it breaks and from reviews I have read I am not an isolated issue. I put this down to poor design and would like to see Corsair upgrade the wheel to make this a perfect 5 star. The wheel has a tiny spindle on it which fits inside the switch. This spindle is made of plastic which obviously weakens over time with multiple presses and eventually breaks. I was offered a full refund or replacement for which I took another replacement as I do like this mouse.
I am trying to be fair with the provided software as I am not a great lover of any RGB controller software. I am not really interested in customizing RGB and I just use the hardware provided profile as I don’t see the point in causing unnecessary CPU overheads with any RGB controller software. The software is very straightforward to use and if you are in to it then this will be for you. The hardware profile gives you an rainbow RGB effect which is good for me. It also provides 1 pre-set for the buttons which has the buttons working as they would on a normal mouse. It also provides 3 speed settings. The one thing I love about this mouse and makes the software useful is that the mouse has 3 hardware pre-sets with 2 of them empty by default. You could tailor these 3 hardware pre-sets using the software then close the software as it is not required for hardware pre-sets.
I know this is my own fault for not reading the description closely enough, but if you’re used to having middle mouse button tilt left and right, this is going to feel like a step down. From using the mouse it feels ergonomic and sturdy. I’m not going to mark it down as it doesn’t actually claim to have mouse tilt left and right, I just kind of expected that as standard on a modern mouse. A little disappointed in that regard. Rebinding to the buttons underneath can add some old functionality back, but as the expense of a profile and DPI switch, which they are by default. I went from the Gigabyte MX8000 to this, if that’s any useful context. I’m thinking I should have stuck with it. Nothing particularly wrong with the mouse, just the lack of that one extra convenient feature is a real shame.
Shape and size for the placement of the palm is excellent. The software on the other hand has issues. The iCUE software scans the PCs monitoring sensors which causes huge lag in mouse movement. The only way to resolve this issue is to delete a file in the iCUE install. Don’t bother with a software update, that doesn’t work. I use this not for gaming but for media creation, digital art, 3d art, game development. The button physical layout is pretty good, although not perfect it is one of the best out there. I don’t bother with wireless and use the wired option. Apart from the software issue the is a solid mouse that hopefully will last years.
So let me start this off by saying I am either extremely lucky or people are overly aggressive with their mice, as my experience does not tally up with the majority here, but there are a few things to be aware of.
As far as build quality goes, I have had absolutely no issues with my mouse. The mounting of the scroll wheel is intact and I use it daily. Those that have had issues with the scroll wheel – I wonder if they are using it as a middle click. Looking at the mechanism I’d say there is some fragility there, but controlled presses haven’t presented an issue and for scrolling it is smooth, no grinds.
Mouse is large (the USP for my purchase) as not many mice cater for my hand size. It’s ergonomic and comfortable in both wrap around and claw hybrid hand positions.
Now, the quirky stuff. You need iCue to take full advantage of this mouse. If it isn’t installed then you will not have full functionality – if it isn’t running you lose some functionality such as DPI profiles and lighting.
Corsair also released a firmware with an issue for this mouse, so do not update as you will have desynchronise issues. This can be reversed by installing an older version of iCue if you have inadvertently updated and are now experiencing issues.
Battery life is OK. It’s not superb but it isn’t awful either.
Overall, very satisfied with my Ironclaw. I’ve had more broken Logitech mice than I have for Corsair, but each persons experience will differ.
After a long search, I thought this mouse was the one, however a few tiny things stop it from being so.
– The size is great, perfect for palm grip. I play with a relaxed palm/claw and it worked well. 19×10 hands.
– iCue worked well to customize side buttons for games.
– Nice side grips and thumb rest.
– Nice RGB options (I turned off for better baterry life).
– USB, dongle or bluetooth connection options make the mouse very flexible
– The supplied usb cable is super stiff. I know this is a wireless mouse, but when using the cable for
charging you might as well not use the mouse.
– The scroll wheel isn’t good, I have a bad feeling about it when using. It just feels weak, and knowing many people
online have posted issues of their scroll wheel breaking after a few months is worrying.
– The entire mouse body creaks when squeezing. It’s feels solid (perhaps down the weight) and cheap at the same time.
– At 130G the mouse is noticeably heavy to use. Coming from a 100G mouse previous I can feel the difference; and
it does start to become an issue after extended use. I’m not pro gamer, but I think lighter overall would be more
enjoyable. It’s fine for every day PC use or casual games but when you play something a little faster it’s a problem for me.
– One of the side buttons (called sniper most commonly (above the two side buttons)) is in such an odd position is becomes basically useless in game.
I could look past some of the “cons” however the extra weight, and worries over the scroll wheel i’ve decided to continue my mouse search!
Good: Full ICUE control over the 3 lighting zones. Highly accurate sensor. Incredible DPI options. Very comfortable feel.
Bad: I accidently bump the profile switch button while during gameplay. Compared to other gaming mice the battery life is average. The top button amongst the three on the side is very hard to press while playing an FPS game.
Ugly: The Corsair branded cable my mouse came with doesn’t function with the mouse and other cables will charge the mouse, but will not allow me to update the firmware and calibrate the mouse for my mouse pad.
Overall, very well designed product with good execution but some minor improvements could make this mouse incredible.
Good solid mouse. Havn’t had any of the build malfunctions that some people have mentioned, but have had the odd problem with connectivity.
Every now and then, if I’ve had the charge cable plugged in to for a while, the mouse struggles to connect again when the cable is removed. This was fixed by updating my iCue software the first time it happened. All other times that it happened, I’ve fixed it by going into the mouse’s settings on iCue and pressing ‘Initiate’.
The mouse just occassionally seems to get lost when switching between wired and wireless and can’t be fixed with a simple PC reset, but a software update/tweak. This problem has happened less and less often with icue updates though yo the point where I’m thoroughly enjoying the mouse and would definitely recommend.
This is a great mouse if you have quite big hands. I was struggling to find a mouse which was comfortable with long periods considering my hands are fairly large, and this one fits the bill. I’m not overly keen on RGB so its nice to see the mouse doesn’t go overboard with it.
It has a wide selection of DPI options but my only real gripe with it is there is one button you cannot re-map. Underneath the scroll wheel there are two buttons, the top one is the profile button which switches between the 3 on board profiles you can set up.
It is NOT possible to re-map this one button to something else. So i found I was inadvertently hitting this button and it was switching to another mode with a different DPI setting mid-game. The way around this for me was to delete all other profiles leaving just the one (I don’t need 3 profiles anyway) but it does mean that this feature of the mouse is then crippled. With the other profiles deleted, this button then is non functional.
Poor design from Corsair, you should be able to choose to remap this button if you wish, considering you can re-map all the others.
I bought this mouse on a Daily Deal for 54.99, good value, good start. I have been trying to get a good wireless mouse for general use and for gaming, I’ve tried the Dark Core RGB SE (2 of them) and a Logitech G903 all of which I returned with faults. I was a bit reluctant to try again, but at the deal price and with Amazons excellent returns policy, I thought that I would give it a go. I’m glad that I did.
It looks good, it feels good and it works well. It fits my hand nicely, I can reach all the buttons and the weight is good (for me). Even with the RGB lighting on, the battery lasts several days (as long as I remember to switch it off when I’m not using it) and it’s ok to use when wired (the mouse, not me). I do miss the wireless charging of the Dark Core, but life is full of little disappointments.
It works well with iCue, which I have open all the time, as I have a Corsair AIO cooler, a K95 keyboard, an M65 RGB Elite and an MM800 Polaris mouse mat.
This Mice the build is very good and the texture smooth and easy to wipe away fingerprints. The only gripe is the body of the Mice is too high. I didn’t test it with any games. I gave three stars for comfort because this Mice is for large hands and most are going to be average or small. If you don’t care about the size then recommended. My box came damaged because the packer packed it in the brown bag instead of a box. All Corsair Mice in the small boxes need to be packed in a box. The Mice was not damaged just the box. If this Mice wasn’t so big then 5 Stars.
