okay I don’t know if anything can be done about this I have checked the internet and other people have had the same issue. I have now bought 2 of this keyboard and the part that fails alot on it is the Numlock LED.

yeah i know not a great thing but when you are typing away on the numpad and nothing has come up its annoying

Software to manage the rgb can be a pain and whilst the purple in the pattern is a nice deep vibrant colour when it’s just a solid purple light I can’t get it to that colour instead is a much whiter shade that looks washed out which is a shame. Function wise can’t fault it but it’s key selling point is the rgb imo and that’s a bit lacklustre

A very good keyboard for a non-mechanical keyboard it has loads of keys to stop the music play next and ajust volume it also has extra keybindings, (eg g1,g2….up to g6) the lights can be changed to multiple colours and moments of the lgiths such as light starts pulsating if u touch a keybinding, the hard rest is very comfortable i alwasy have it on and very study with a fairly roush texture to not make ur hand slip,
    i do recommend i

I have had many keyboards over the years but this is one of my favourites. It is used most days by my partner for work and gaming for myself. it is comfortable, lights up great and is easier to clean than some with the appropriate spacing between keys. would buy agai

I’m coming to respect Corsair as a name that means high build quality and excellent design no matter what it is they’re making. I took a bit of a leap of faith on this keyboard, having been a long time Logitech user but seeing good reviews of this. The reviews were right, it’s great.

The keys are quite high and stiff for a membrane keyboard, it gives a better feeling of typing than my old Logitech G510 which has lower, looser keys. The high keys looks like it’ll make removal for cleaning a lot easier too.

The design is sleek and has doesn’t waste space, without seeming as though it’s trying too hard to cram everything in.

And finally the RGB is perfectly serviceable and being integrated into Corsair’s iCUE software makes life very easy, letting me manage almost all my computer’s RGB in one place.

My first impression was that I’d ordered the wrong keyboard (again). Somehow I managed to order a German one the first time. The values on the keys when shift is used are not displayed in the usual UK keyboard format. The shifted value is shown below the unshifted value, instead of above. It’s not the end of the world, but it takes some getting used to. It’s fine for the number keys, but a nuisance for brackets and symbols, if you’re not a typist..

Also, it took some figuring out how to stop the mad lighting effect and get a nice solid light blue colour.

That said, it’s a nice keyboard (a bit noisy, despite the blurb on the box) and the icue software (that I only found out about when Googling how to stop the bloomin’ lights flashing) has some very useful key and compatible mouse assignment functions.

An instruction manual or some obvious link to an online one would be useful, as this is not your basic keyboard and has more functionality than meets the eye.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange format for shifted values on keys

For it’s price, I get full lighting control with each key individually lit for the most customisability, nice tactile feeling keys with an amazing sound to them and the keyboard comes with stream deck keys which I bound to basic computer controls like web browser, screen capture and on screen annotations. It’s software, iCue by Corsair, also adds to the customisability allowing you to quite literally make your own patterns and drawings on the keyboard which I find amazing.

For the price, can’t do much better! Great quality as always from Corsair (had an old Corsair keyboard from 2013 and it’s still working!), so thought why not buy another one from my other PC.

The LEDs are easy to change and looks great. Each key has a satisfying press to it and isn’t too loud either since it’s a rubber dome switch. Comes with a nice matte feeling wrist rest too.

    Can’t go wrong!

I have been using this keyboard for a while now, and it’s absolutely amazing. Don’t let the “Membrane keys” title put you off, this keyboard built to such a high standard that you hardly notice it. The lighting on this keyboard is mesmerizing, there are several preset modes to choose from, and you can make your own. Although there is a little light leakage that causes some of the color to go onto the keys surrounding it, again, this keyboard is built to such a high standard that you hardly notice it. Also, the keys are bright and support very vivid colors, the keys can be easily seen in a completely lit room. (While typing this, I shone my phone torch onto the keyboard and the lighting remained completely visible, still at its luminous, bright colors.) (You can also dim the lights if it gets annoying, don’t worry about that)

As for gaming, this is by far the best keyboard I’ve ever used. Its response time is instant, the G keys are absolutely game changing, and another cool little feature that I appreciate is the media keys, meaning you can play songs while ingame and if you need to concentrate, you can just hit pause without having to tab out of your game to pause it, hence ruining your concentration. But no, with this, it’s as simple as just one push of a button. You can also cycle through your songs with the 2 media keys surrounding the pause key.

Now for ergonomics. I have never typed on a keyboard so comfortable. The wrist support allows you to slope your hands to the perfect typing position, and I find that I can type significantly faster with this keyboard over other keyboards. I could press the keys for hours, It feels like some type of angelic jelly has been laid underneath the keys. This combined with the wrist support creates the ultimate gaming and typing experience.

For the price it’s very very nice, the only issue would be the additional macro keys on the left, Definitely able to be ignored / worked around, but still end up making just a few uses of the keyboard a bit awkward having an extra growth that most people aren’t used to on the left side, But a small issue for sure.

Other than that. Literally perfect. nice feeling keys, fast and responsive, full utility of keypad

    9/10

Absolutely love this keyboard. Yes it’s membrane but it feels good quality and I prefer it over overly clicky keyboards which sets off my sensory overload. This one does not. I used to have the first version of it which is still like brand new but wanted the second version because of the seperate light colour instead of sections. It does not disappoint. Outstanding Corsair and at a really good price too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a lovely LOVELY keyboard but be warned it will take you some getting used to. The keys seem a little high compared to my other keyboards and the keys themselves seem a little closer together. The escape key is not the corner key I am usually expecting in that position. That space is taken up by one of the macro keys.

You WILL get used to this in time, the more you use it but this is an amazing keyboard. It worked as soon as I plugged it in and I didnt have to bother installing any software (apparently theres something you can download to make the light dance differently). I actually have the lights turned off as I find them a distraction. Now I know where the keys are I am able to find them in the dark.
Dont get me wrong they are beautiful lights but just not for me.

No problem typing and Im not getting any problems in games either with the keyboard locking up or any other nonsense that my older, cheaper, keyboard did. Yes this is pricey, but worth it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI mainly needed a quiet keyboard, as I am on a student exchange program and the walls here are paper thin. This keyboard has done its job well. The lighting is pretty awesome, I just find the actual app a little confusing to use, but that may just be me.

I got it for a great price and it was definitely worth my money.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as a gift for my gf.

After using her computer I decided I had to get my own one.

I use this for work about 7 hours a day. I have had 5 months and other than the dust it has accumulated, it look and works brand new. None of the letters are scratched (and remember I said I have used this for 5 months 7 hours a day)

I would defiantly recommend. This is every comfortable keyboard and types and feels perfect.

As I said I use this for work. The 6 macro keys on the left are an amazing aspect and I use these countless times a day for tasks I repeat. (There is a task at work that believe it or not I can complete 4 hours before the average person just because of those amazing macro keys.

The only problem I have with this is that you need to have ICUE! running in the background the manually ick the colours you want. Other than this it’s great. The default colours are good anyways so not too bad.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave been looking for a decent keyboard for the office due to always wearing off the letters off the keys with heavy use. Thought rgb would be a good idea but has been hard to find something suitable for office work as gaming keyboards tend to be oversized and good ones overpriced.
This has been a excellent replacement for a standard office keyboard and at a great price. Very Happy!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve had this keyboard for about 11 months now, and I’m generally happy with it. It’s pretty comfortable to use, and the wrist rest provides good support. The macro keys are useful for a variety of operations.

    There are two issues:
    1. I notice that the black on a couple of the keys is starting to wear off. Based on my experience with other (cheaper) keyboards, I would have expected this to last for longer.
    2. The wrist rest collects dirt like there’s no tomorrow.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, but the colour of the keys isn't very durable

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for an upgrade from my 60% mechanical keyboard and was originally tried logitech before price threw me off. I bought this as it seemed like a good mid-range keyboard and was surprised by the value you get from the price.

    Just a few notes;

-Amazing build quality with tactile switches. (obviously not hot-swappable but still very nice)
-6 Programable Keys using the ICue program which itself is much less demanding then others (*Razer Synapse*)
-Wrist rest is detachable. Insanely huge plus and what put this as 5 star instead of 4.
-The actual USB cable is a good length which is always appreciated.

    Downsides;

-It is a very large keyboard, which won’t affect some but if you’re lacking desk space like myself, it is pretty massive compared to other 100% keyboards.
-Very simple RGB with minimal customisation (nothing like Razer but still very good for half the price)

Either way if you’re looking for a good mid-range keyboard and don’t want to spend a ton, this is a great keyboard and one that’ll definitely last.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA good quality membrane keyboard that is OK for gaming as long as you aren’t too rough with it.
I bought it more for simulators and general use and one of the main reasons for choosing this keyboard were the 6 macro keys. Those keys were simple and straightforward to set up, as were the lighting effects which I am continually messing about with – the variations and effects seem to be limitless. It does everything that I want and because of the quality of materials used it should last for years.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe keys have good enough travel for gaming but also not too much travel for typing, so the keyboard is pretty good for both.

The main issue I have is that it is quite wide and I don’t have the biggest hands, so sometimes I have to look at it to reposition my hands correctly before resuming touch typing. I find I also have to offset its position to the left instead of having it centered for the same reason.

But it is a good keyboard which I hope will last a good while.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersKeyboard is quiet enough and less clicky than a mechanical one. Seems to be fast enough on most games (FPS & Flight Simulator mainly so far) & nice to type with too. Backlighting is great & although not fully customisable (per key) it is certainly customisable enough for my needs. Great to have the separate brightness key & media keys too. Wrist rest is ok too, although easily removed if you don’t like it. Macro keys are great 🙂 Decent weight and quality. It needs to be plugged into a proper USB port, not a hub, or it won’t behave properly and can make a whistling sound!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great keyboard, and when you fork out a ton of money on a keyboard you’d expect no less. There are a few issues I have with this though. For RGB it might not be as customisable as you’d think

    *** Pro’s ***
    – The keyboard comes with a rest for your wrists which is an amazing feature as it prevents you from getting strain or uncomfortable hands
    – The keyboard offers RGB customisability that can be synced with the iCue system giving you the option to have profiles for the RGB colours
    – The keyboard has macro buttons that you can map on the iCue software to create complex macros and simple macros
    – Keyboard comes with volume control which allows you to skip songs, pause them, and increase total computer volume
    – Keys feel nice to use even though they’re not mechanical
    – Quite a large keyboard but it’s perfect for an optimal keyboard layout

    *** Con’s ***
    – Even though it has RGB, it’s not as customisable as you’d expect, instead of having each key able to be mapped out it has 3 sections that work as one mappable area each
    – The keys aren’t mechanical and for the price it should be, might be worth spending a little extra to get a better keyboard in my opinion

    Areas to improve:
    – Make it so that every key on the keyboard is able to be mapped as a separate LED
    – Make the keyboard mechanical instead of the weird thing that it is so the option to swap out switches is available

I love this keyboard, and even though it might not be my dream keyboard it works very very well. The macros are useful and they’re something I use in my every day life, and I find the RGB lights to be a nice addition.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought it for 41.99 in November 2017. Been using it since then, every day, for anywhere from a few hours to all day. Finally decided to look for a mechanical keyboard. Every single key still works. Satisfying to type with. Absolutely love the macro keys (something it’s bafflingly difficult to find on mechanicals). Extra keys like the volume/media control keys and the Windows lock are useful. Despite some dust as of typing this, if I cleaned it up it would probably look as good as new.

I only have two issues. One (the one I knock off a star for) is that there are issues with the iCUE software/keyboard drivers that means the software doesn’t always recognise the keyboard when you boot the PC, meaning that the lighting profiles and macro keys don’t work properly without unplugging/replugging. Second is a very minor gripe – I find that the rubber grip/rest at the bottom collects sweat really easily, so it goes white and can be surprisingly difficult to clean. On the plus side, it does grip well, so I can’t really complain.

All in all, if you’re on a budget, or just cheap, both of which I was when I bought this, I don’t think you could go wrong. 4 years of constant use and a damn good keyboard, for very little.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the K55 PRO XT model

    Keys
The keys are not mechanical, but they have a pretty good feeling to them when pressing down, also quite responsive. They are not loud at all if this is one of your concerns. The keyboard is also packed with 6x macro keys, which can be handy for some people who are into MMOs and streamers. Definitely better than ordinary 10-20 keyboard.

    Size and Comfort
The keyboard is really big. Especially if have the wrist rest attached, which is quite comfortable if you ask me. The wrist rest is made out of silicon-ish material so its not the smoothest and can get dirty pretty quick, but easy to clean as it can be removed easily.

    RGB + Software
RGB lighting is really nice and looks much better compare to other 40-60 keyboards. It requires the ICUE software to run on your PC to make the most out of it. Luckily it barely put any strains on your system, so probably no issue for most people.
Worth mentioning. The Software might not recognize the keyboard at first. Updating/ Newly downloading and restarting the PC helped me. I seen others had the similar issue. There are few solution this issue is quiet common among K55 keyboards

My Experience with the K55 PRO XT
I have this keyboard for 2 moths by now and there have been no MAJOR issues with it. After a few weeks the numlock indicator light went off and the left arrow key had a different rgb colour but was fixed with upgrading firmware and restarting the pc.

I recommend buying this product but only when discounted. The 70 price tag is bit expensive for the K55 PRO XT model.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt is a good keyboard overall, but I’ve got a few gripes:

The placement of the programmable keys is awful. So counterintuitive to not have Escape at the top left corner or Ctrl on the bottom left.

The volume controls never worked properly. Not a massive deal but would have been better if they worked out-of-the-box.

The wrist rest is too hard to be useful, and it makes the keyboard absolutely gigantic. Removed it straight away and find it more comfortable without it.

The fact that it doesn’t have a USB port at the back, given its size is also a bit of a shock.

Other than the above, it is very comfortable to type and game. Not too noisy either.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat keyboard. RGB is very nice and easy to program with the correct software. Keys are nice to use, wrist rest is very handy and I LOVE the fact that I can control Spotify using the ‘pause’, ‘play’, ‘skip’, etc. buttons on the top right. Easy to clean, I can just pop the keys off if I get anything trapped in between them.
The only issue I have come across is that when I turn off my PC, if I accidentally press a key then the keyboard lights will switch on and I have to either unplug my keyboard or turn my PC on and off again. But other than that, no problems.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought it for the lights really, not gaming. I can type 140 wpm really comfortable on it, I love it. I like the harder, raised, spaced keys, the responsive noise it makes but wow – the lighting on a dim evening along with the corsair mouse pad makes it feel high tech, smart and fun in my home office, it’s a nice place to be – I couldn’t go back to an unlit keyboard / mouse pad! 🙂 I could, but it would be dark and gloomy.

Software was a bit funny at the beginning (4 years ago), but it’s working great now, seems Corsair have perfected it. Highly recommended, at this price point, good quality, customizable and music controls for me. My main work/browsing/fun keyboard and I notice it when I move to a cheaper one. I wipe it down with a Dettol wipe every second day, turn it upside down give it a good shake, vacuum it. It’s tough. Still as good as new. Buy It!

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI bought this keyboard after about a year using mechanics.

    What can I say…
Well, let’s start with a bit of a description
So this one has volume keys on the right, g1-g6 gaming macro keys on the left. 3 zone illumination.
    Aaand it’s a membrane keyboard.

    Pros:
It’s quet. I mean compared to a mechanic, finally I can be at ease typing at night. Nice.
It will be probably durable as hell.
It has the media keys in the right place

    Cons:
Well, after using the mech for some time I must admit I prefer typing on a mech.
the volume control is not a knob

Why did I switch in the first place?
Well, I was using a redragon first. That started having issues after a month. Luckily redragon added like 10 spare switches, which you can replace on the fly. That should’ve been a hint, that they might go quickly but oh well, I did not get that. I am not a subtle man… Anyway, in about 8 months I went through 10 switches in my wsad area and decided I needed a replacement.

So I bought a logitech. I thought a reputable brand would be better. Damn… After about 6 months the LED under the 8 key went. Then the switches under the 4 key and under wsad started registering two keys instead of one. Only Logitech did not include any spares in the package, and you cannot replace them on the fly.

So I thought – wait a minute, I still have my old membrane keyboard I bought 9 years ago and that works perfectly. Mechs are clearly crap, I need a membrane keyboard. And I bought this one.

So typing is nice, quick and quiet. Not as good as on the mech, but I’ll get used to it.

I am happy with the purchase, so far. We’ll se how it goes. If this one breaks after a few months I will update this review. For now, 5 stars

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought it mainly for office work but also for casual gaming and loving it so far. While its not totally silent it is considerably quieter than the generic office keyboard. Apparently I’m a loud typer (cc: wife) so working in the day and gaming at night isn’t too bothering anymore.

I’ve used all out gaming peripherals before so if you’re expecting this to ‘feel’ and perform the same way then better to look elsewhere. But for the price its worth it. The media shortcuts and 6 additional macro buttons are some big plus. The windows lock button is something I’d never thought I needed but now can’t live without. The RGB lighting to me is a nice-to-have but having a million colour combination doesn’t really make a difference to me so, while I get that it’s deal breaker for some people, but for others probably not so. Of course there’re a lot of areas this keyboard can improve on but for the PRICE I found it a good buy

5.0 out of 5 stars Using it for casual gaming and working. Love i

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe K55 has a great feel to the keys. I’m no expert, but the key presses are certainly sharper and cleaner than my old laptop. The keypresses are much louder, though – this keyboard is not as quiet as I had originally desired, but nothing headphones can’t block out.

The K55 also comes with an array of fancy lightning. I find it a bit obnoxious, but it can just be turned off – no software required. It took me a minute to find the FN key, but setting it to dim red is my preference.

I haven’t figured out the macros yet.

If this product fails earlier than seems -by my personal approximation- reasonable, then I will update this review.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a great keyboard, my fave features are described below, but the one thing I hate about it might be a show-stopper for some people, so I’ll describe that first:

The key labels are all upside down!! What I mean is that, on 99.999% of other keyboards, the shifted thing is above the normal thing. For example, press ‘=’ for equals, and usually, above that is the shift-thing, in this case ‘+’. See the photo attached – all the legends are the other way up! For most keys, this doesn’t matter much, but for +/= and maybe for some, : / ; will be confusing. I have been typing for over 40 years, and it throws me off on this keyboard!

However, I still think it’s a great keyboard because:
    – It’s quiet! Maybe not as quiet as a thin membrane keyboard, but for a full-travel keyboard it’s very quiet. Finally I can type while my partner is sleeping in the next room. No clatter of the space bar! Marvellous!

    – It’s lighted – with so many options, and so easily controlled without software! I also love that there is a dedicated key to adjust the brightness or turn off the backlight. Great! Another good thing about backlighted keyboards is that the keys themselves have transparent letters so the light shows through. This means that the legends will not wear off when, like me, I forget to cut my nails short. The number of keyboards I have worn the letters off is too many to count. This one will survive! Gonna be great in the winter when it’s dark.

_ Just to be clear – you cannot control the colour of an individual key – there are 4 zones left to right that you can change the colour of… so that may not suit all, but I have solid colour across the whole thing – different one each day to switch things up a bit!

    – It’s got 6 programmable keys that you don’t need software for – record those key sequences right on the keyboard – amazing and so easy to do!

    – It’s got media controls, the most important two being Mute and pause – for when the phone rings and when it’s time to stop annoying other people!

So, in general, it’s the keybaord I have been waiting for for years…. except for this upside-down shift legend thing. Oh, and the num lock LED is BRIGHT.

If they re-did this keyboard with the legend as it is on all the other keyboards, then I would buy loads of these to use for the rest of my life!

Great quiet keyboard except for one thing - it's upside down!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersFeels and plays better than I expected for a sub <45 keyboard. RGB lighting is solid and luminates keys nicely so you can see them in the dark clearly, in daytime it doesn't make much difference but it's still cool. The macro keys are cool, yet most games will simply recognise them as numerical keys 1 through 5 --- so while in some games you may gain extra buttons for performing actions; in most of the games I've tested this was not the case; although it is ideal to have number keys 1-3 above your WASD and use macro G keys 4-6 down the left side with your little finger. Seems to work for me. So all number keys 1-6 are within quick reach. That's ideal and using it in this way does gain you three extra quickly pressable buttons. Keystrokes feel solid and have a nice sound which is not too loud yet not too soft to feel sluggish like a laptop would. It feels sturdy like other membrane-mech hybrid keyboards. My only criticism is that I wish the whole unit was a bit heavier. But for 45 you really can't go wrong here.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the price it is a great keyboard from Corsair, however, with the K55 being the lowest price RGB keyboard by Corsair, it is only 3 sections of RGB, so it means that ICUE will not work with it as an audio visualiser, which sadly I didn’t know until I tried it.

With that not really being a short fall, it’s a quiet keyboard with the great addition of Macro Keys that make gaming much easier.

The RGB lighting is vibrant and good to look at, it does partially light up the room if you are in the dark. It is my first Corsair Item, and I am happy with it.

I would recommend it if you are on a tight budget. But as sadly it isn’t and most likely isn’t going to be supported for an audio visualiser for apps like “Wallpaper Engine” I would go for a K70 if that is what you want.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got this since it was on sale and my partner also has one and highly recommended it. Was a little concerned about it not being mechanical at first but after a day of use I’m already in love with it. The wrist brace is a harder than what I’m used to but I can’t count that as a problem as I’ve been using a wrist rest with like a cushion on top (build into it) for a few years so its less of it being uncomfortable, more of I’m not used to it.

The G1 to G6 keys confused me a little at first due to my old keyboard lacking them but I was getting used to the placement of the ESC key and more within the hour of using it. If you’re not used to keyboards like this (key placement, the extra keys, etc, etc) I would still recommend it as its easy to get used to and the key sounds are pleasant to listen to. Haven’t encountered any problems other than my own brain working against me and I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a new keyboard.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis Corsair Keyboard feels great and is quiet too, which was what I was looking for. I had a mechanical keyboard and it was getting annoying how loud it was. This K55 has 6 macro buttons on the left, they have sometimes knocked me off because I always mistake G6 for CTRL. There are some really nice volume control buttons as well as mute/up/down. There is a Macro Record button as well as an RGB OFF/ON, and a Windows button lock. You can use Corsair’s ‘iCUE’ software to customise the RGB to your liking which is a nice touch.
My only issue with the keyboard is the fact that my CAPS LOCK & NUM LOCK lights do not work, even though they did on arrival. I have had this for approx 2 days since writing this review. I have checked it up online and other people are having this same issue.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAn excellent keyboard to compliment a low to mid-range gaming system. Without stupidly complex RGBs and a minimalist design, the K55 suited me perfectly and it is by far one of the most comfortable cheap keyboards I’ve used in a long while. Colours, shortcuts and macros are generally easy to configure with the excellent included iCUE app. However, there is a reason for my lower rating. Compared to the excellent RGB clarity of the Corsair Harpoon I’ve paired this keyboard with, certain customisable colours look murky and ugly. Blue, red and green are all fine but it can take a lot of fiddling to deliver any sort of yellow or orange that doesn’t look like mud. “Ice” White especially looks more like light blue.
However this is generally a very minor consideration. For the excellent build quality, I would definitely say the K55 is worth your attention.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOverall I’m really happy with this product, I had bought this along side the Sabre RGB mouse. The keyboard is a good quality build, mainly plastic but strong and sturdy, cannot complain for the price. It’s really nice to game with been playing games like Fallout 76, Fortnite and Farming Simulator 17/19 using the keyboard and it been comfortable to use with the included wrist rest. The 3 zone RGB lighting is bright and looks really nice with my computer set up. Only downside hence the star drop off would be that with the Corsair software that enables you to control the lighting effects of the products, you are not able to sync up the lighting effect with the mouse or other RGB lighted Corsair products, however this could be sorted in the future with software updates.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs expected from a 60 keyboard, the K55 is a plastic affair. By and large, the keyboard still has a quality feel and build. One small complaint is the strip of glossy plastic at the top of the keyboard which acts like a fingerprint and dust magnet. The keycaps have good spacing and typing feels natural, but the faces of each key are a bit flat; I would have preferred a more concave edge to help with blindly acquiring keys while gaming. A handy set of dedicated media keys rests above the numpad, including volume control and buttons for skipping tracks. While it’s not as easy to use as a roller wheel, this is one of those tradeoffs you must make for a significantly reduced price, and they are better than nothing. Unfortunately, these keys aren’t illuminated, which makes it a hassle to adjust volume while gaming in the dark with an otherwise lit-up RGB keyboard.wrist rest. It works well-enough, and provides a basic level of support while the textured face does offer some nice grip. Like most keyboards in this price range, Corsair didn’t include USB passthrough on the K55, so though it’s not surprising it’s still a bit disappointing, but again, it’s just one of the drawbacks to going with a less expensive keyboard. Overalll for entry into keyboards this is a budget friendly option which i really enjoyed and i thank Corsair for making a budget friendly keyboard.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve had a few Corsair mechanical keyboards previous to owning this keyboard. For the price, this keyboard is fantastic because it feels premium, looks the part in a gaming setup, and has many useful functions from the higher priced mechanical keyboards. I like the fact that the RGB presets can be adjusted on the keyboard itself, so you don’t have to bother installing the Corsair software and setting up the different profiles. The programmable macro keys are also a nice bonus. There are three brightness settings, a windows key lock button, and media and volume buttons (which are not back lit).

I’m personally not a huge fan of the mechanical switches, and prefer the rubber keys on this keyboard to my previous K70 Cherry MX Brown switches. This keyboard is much quieter, but there is still a decent tactile feel to pressing the keys, unlike many cheaper keyboards. Its constructed out of plastic rather than metal, yet feels well constructed. It doesn’t leave fingerprints except for the shiny part at the top.

The only minor thing I could improve with this keyboard is having a braided cable like on the more expensive keyboards. Having said that, Corsair got it spot on with this keyboard especially for the price of 50.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m not a gamer, so am not reviewing this keyboard from a gamer perspective, I’m a developer so a good keyboard is a must for me. I ordered this keyboard as an affordable alternative to a Razer, which I feel are massively overpriced. I must say that so far I’m very impressed, the built quality is fantastic, it feels solid and nice under the fingers, it also looks great. I’m glad the wrist rest detaches as I’m not a fan of those. The colour changing lights are a nice though, albeit pointless. My only grip so far is the addition of the G keys down the left hand side, personally I feel they interfere with the standard keyboard layout and will take some getting used to, but that said, it’s not a deal breaker. All round an excellent choice for people wanting to try a nice quality keyboard that isn’t flat keyed.
