These work for me. Wifi is now extended to both ends of the house.

Dopo aver trovato la collocazione ideale riesce a coprire una casa di 300 mq su due piani.
molto stabile e, in caso di spegnimento del modem o black out, si riavvia in automatico. Una sola volta ho dovuto schiacciare il tasto reset dopo aver spento e riavviato il modem.
Per ora ha venti dispositivi sempre connessi tra echo, luci, fire tv, videosorveglianza, citofoni, ecc (pi PC e tablet saltuariamente connessi) e non ha mai avuto incertezze.

Very good mesh system with great coverage and great speed. Only small problem with music over smart devices, where I was need find solution on Internet and already sorted (option is disabled at default) . And everything working great now. Absolutely satisfied.

I picked this up when it was on offer at the 85 mark and I have to say I am very pleased with it. I was drawn to the fact its a tri-band unit but I will be honest and say I would have no idea if I really needed that or not. Signal now reaches all areas of my house and that’s the main thing I wanted.
I did have a slightly odd issue in which my firestick only seemed to connect to the main unit and not to the other which was right next to it. Resulted in buffering issues. No idea if that would have fixed itself in end, but I did change the operation to bridge-mode which did fix and I also felt it slightly improved the higher speeds too so I have kept that setting.
Agreed with another review, the power cables are too short. Great mesh system though
Brilliant piece of kit. My old router setup was a powerful gaming Asus with another one upstairs in a bridge setup, over 200 per router, I was getting consistent drop outs and lags, so thought I’d finally try a mesh system. These have the same CPU and hardware as the Orbi’s but at less than half the cost, the performance is brilliant too. Going through two brick walls and a floor, I get zero drop in speed upstairs and signal has been rock solid since I bought them. If there’s one criticism it’s of the ridiculously short power cable, but the extension from my old Amazon Echo 1st gen fits so I added an extra 10 feet which worked for me.
With regards to the router itself, it has transformed the quality of my Wi-Fi. I’ve been reading for a while now about how bad the virgin superhub 3 is but I had no idea the results of a new router would be this evident.
After placing the virgin hub in modem mode and hooking it up to the covr the Wi-Fi has been incredible. Solid 100mbs everywhere in the house. Very impressed.
I had no wifi coverage in my study (which is at the other end of the house to the router) so needed an easy solution as I download up to 50gb of video a day for my work. Having easily set up the D-Link Covr 2202 i now have a download speed of 67mbps so downloading is fast and steady.
We have great coverage throughout the house with no more weak wifi spots. The product looks great too, highly recommend.

Die App frs Smartphone ist einfach zu bedienen und bersichtlich.
Initial setup wasn’t too bad and was online within about 15 minutes of opening the box. Fantastic wi-fi coverage across the house unlike before and things looked pretty good. However, the connection was not stable at all, the PPPOE connection would drop on a regular basis and although it normally came back online within a few minutes I was not impressed at spending the best part of 200 on an unstable device. I checked with another VDSL modem and had exactly the same problem.
I then changed to mode so that the mesh system was utilised as an access point whilst the ISP router provided routing and firewall etc. This meant that I lost the QoS features and the guest wi-fi network so wasn’t overly impressed but at least the connection stayed up and we still had decent wi-fi connectivity in the house. This was fine for about a week until the auto firmware update kicked in and created a new SSID with no security alongside the configured one (both with the same name). I had to factory reset the device to stop an unsecured SSID being available.
As the router was now in factory state I then configured it as a router again with the Draytek modem to see if the firmware update helped. So far not a single drop in the connection instead of the anywhere between 2 and 6 hours on the previous firmware. I have also disabled the auto firmware update and will monitor the d-link forums etc before upgrading firmware in future.
Summary: with firmware 1.03 I was about ready to send it back as not fit for purpose (unless you were happy to use it as access point only and lose the QoS and guest network etc) . With firmware 1.04 it seems pretty solid
Da ich mit meinem normalen Router leider ein wenig Probleme hatte in der ganzen Wohnung Wlan zu bekommen musste irgendwas her, was das ndert. Hier wurde ich von einem Freund auf die COVR’s gestoen. Preislich auch im Rahmen waren die dann auch schnell geholt.
Das Paket von Amazon kam sehr fix und beim Aufmachen kamen zwei vom Design her sehr ansprechende, vielleicht ein wenig groe Boxen heraus.
Schnell an den Router angeschlossen und mit der App verbunden.
Die Einrichtung ging sehr schnell und einfach ber die App, jedoch musste ich schnell feststellen, dass ber die App nur die Router Funktion der Covr2202 konfiguriert werden konnte. Das Umschalten zu einem Access Point geht nur ber die Website des Gerts. Hier darf gerne nachgebessert werden!
Auch auf der Website ging alles sehr einfach und zgig voran und der Access Point war schnell eingerichtet. Was jetzt jedoch ein wenig irritierend ist, dass das Umschalten in den Routermodus nur durch ein Zurcksetzten des Gerts zu gehen scheint. Hier fehlt einfach die Einstellungsmglichkeit.
Die Covr’s tun aber sonst genau das was ich von ihnen will: mein Netzwerk erweitern und das sehr solide und bertragungsstark.
Fazit: Ich kann die Covr2202 definitiv fr den Heimgebrauch empfehlen, jedoch sollte man darauf achten, in welchem Modus die Gerte sich befinden.
Kleines Plus zum Schluss, der beleuchtete Schriftzug lsst sich ber die App leicht ausstellen, falls dies strt.
Die einzelnen COVR Gerte in dem Klavierlackwei, sehen sehr hochwertig verarbeitet aus. Design berzeugt im Ganzen sehr. Das leuchten des Schriftzuges ist in einer angenehmen Helligkeit. Einzig die kleine Kupferfarbene Applikation unten entspricht nicht ganz meinem Geschmack bzw. fgt sich nicht nahtlos in meinen Einrichtungsstil ein. Hier htte mir ein grauer oder schwarzer Streifen persnlich besser gefallen.
Mit der WLAN Leistung bin ich sehr zufrieden. Auch stndige WLAN Wechsel gehren endlich der Vergangenheit an. Die Geschwindigkeit des WLAN ist fr meine Einsatzbereiche mehr als ausreichend.
Die Einrichtung war im ersten und zweiten Versuch, mit der App von D-Link (in meinem Fall iOS), leider nicht erfolgreich. Im letzten Schritt hat das System leider den Abschluss nicht korrekt hinbekommen, sodass ich nach langer Wartezeit abgebrochen habe. Die Einrichtung ber die Browseroberflche hingegen war nach gefhlt etwa 3 Minuten dann aber erfolgreich erledigt. Die Schritte fr die Installation waren sowohl im Browser als auch in der App einfach zu verstehen und selbst fr Laien gut machbar.
Fazit: Trotz leichter Installationsschwierigkeiten (mit der App), sehr berzeugt von Design und Funktio
Das offene Wohnen-Kochen-Essen ist l-frmig versetzt und ca. 50m gro. Bisher hatte ich im Wohnzimmerbereich guten Empfang, aber schon in der versetzt liegenden Kche und der dahinter liegenden Terrasse war wenig bis gar kein Empfang mehr vorhanden.
Mit dem System aus “Master” COVR-A, der nun im Wohnzimmer mit LAN-Anschluss installiert ist und dem “Satellit” COVR-B, der in der uersten Ecke der Kche platziert ist, habe ich berall vollen Ausschlag und auch auf der Terrasse eine ordentliche Verbindung.
Optisch haben die Gerte ein ansprechendes und wertiges Design, sie knnten evtl. etwas kleiner sein, aber wahrscheinlich bedingt das technische Innenleben die Gre. Sie haben ordentlich Gewicht, was ebenfalls eine gewisse Qualitt verspricht und diese auch nicht so schnell umfallen lsst, falls einmal jemand dagegen stoen sollte.
Die Installation mit der Ios-App war leider nicht so einfach, da sich diese mehrmals am Ende des Vorgangs bei bernahme der Kennwort- und Passwortdaten aufgehngt hatte. Die App reagierte nicht mehr und ich habe das Mobiltelefon neu gestartet um die App wieder bedienen zu knnen. Erst nach Rcksetzung der Gerte auf Werkseinstellung hat es dann geklappt. Daher gibt es von mir nur 4 statt 5 Sterne.
Ansonsten bin ich sehr zufrieden und seit der erfolgreichen Inbetriebnahme gab es keine Probleme oder Ausflle.
Moin moin,
habe das oben genannte System nun zu Hause testen knnen und muss sagen…Genau was ich fr meine Problemstellung gesucht habe. Hier nun etwas detallierter ;-):
Einsatzbereich:
Testumgebung ist ein 2 – geschossiges Einfamilienhaus (massiv) aus dem Jahr 1912 mit Anbau (Erdgeschoss insg. 90qm davon 55qm Anbau, der Anbau nur erdgeschossig. 1 Etage nur im Altbau) sowie 700qm Gartenflche.
Es liegt eine 100Mbit Kabel- Internetverbindung an welche im Anbau den Anschluss hat.
Gerte im Haushalt sind 2 iPhone7 sowie ein iPad 2017er Baujahres sowie 2 Smart TVs mit Streamingportalen Netflix und Prime.
Das bisherige Problem:
Das Kabel Modem hat Anschluss im Anbau und der nachgelagerte WLAN Router (ca. 5 Jahre alt, 2,4- und 5Ghz Netz) war hierdurch ebenfalls an den Anbau gefesselt”. Das Problem bestand nun darin, dass selbst in einigen Rumen im Erdgeschoss durch die massiven Wnde des Altbaus wesentlich weniger Bandbreite zur Verfgung stand als die Leitung hergegeben htte. Bestwerte lagen hier mit dem iPad bei ca. 65Mbit im Empfang. Selbst im WZ wo der WLAN Router stand kam nicht mehr. Tendenz abfallend je weiter man sich im Erdgeschoss vom Router entfernte. Von der 1. Etage und der Terrasse ganz zu schweigen…Internet war hier in homeopathischen Mengen nur mglich. Nicht nur, dass die Bandbreite eher schwach war, sondern hufig auch Verbindungsabbrche auftraten sptestens wenn 2 oder mehr Gerte gleichzeitig online aktiv waren.
Verpackung / Optik / Haptik:
Die Verpackung ist solide und beim ffnen zeigt sich eine sehr ansprechende und aufgerumte Prsentation.
Sehr Gut: Der Master” ist via Aufkleber gekennzeichnet, der Satellit” nicht, spart Zeit. Netzteile und ein Flachband Ethernetkabel ebenfalls sauber verpackt.
Ebenfalls sehr gut ist das klare Design des Mesh-Systems mit den beiden Gerten. Wei- Klavierlack mit einer Nicht-Router Optik hat mir persnlich die Argumentation bei der besseren Hlfte erleichtert . Schmiegt sich also ins Wohnzimmer wie ein Dekoelement.
Ob der Zierring unten an den Gerten in Bronzefarben muss ist Geschmackssache.
Beide Gerte bringen ein gewisses Gewicht mit, was mir nach wie vor suggeriert, dass es sich um ein hochwertiges Produkt handeln wird.
Einrichtung:
In der Verpackung befand sich ein kleines Booklet mit dem Barcode fr die Schnelleinrichtung via D-Link App.
Hier sei gesagt, dass die App Verbesserungspotential aufweist. Installation und Starten der Quick Installation war kein Problem. Allerdings hat die App sich zweimal whrend der Installation verabschiedet. Und zwar an dem Punkt wenn Sie den selbstgewhlten Netzwerknamen und die neuen Passwrter fr das WLAN an den Master sendet. Beide Male wartete ich mehr als 20 Minuten bevor ich die Gerte auf Werkseinstellungen zurcksetzte nachdem nichts mehr passierte.
Die klassische” Einrichtung via Webbrowser verlief absolut reibungslos und berzeugte durch klare Menfhrung und max. 5 Minuten Einrichtungszeit. Absolut TOP und dank Schritt fr Schritt” Fhrung auch fr Nicht-Technik-Affine geeignet.
Folgend daraus der Verbesserungsvorschlag, die Fehler der App zu beseitigen UND die Default IP Adresse fr den Browser mit in das kleine Booklet zu drucken.
TIP: Einrichtung via Browser vornehmen.
Leistung:
Vorab: Ich wre schon mit einer kleinen Leistungssteigerung zufrieden gewesen.
Was dann aber kam schlug dem Fass den Boden aus.
Setup ist nun so, dass der Master” unten im Neubau steht neben dem Kabelmodem und der Satellit” in der 1. Etage des Altbaus.
Die Ergebnisse die mit dem iPad und wieistmeineip.de gemessen wurden sind echt beeindruckend. In der 1. Etage habe ich in keinem der 3 Zimmer weniger als 75MBit Empfang gemessen. Auf der Terrasse ebenfalls nie weniger als 80Mbit. Im Erdgeschoss, egal welcher Raum, liegen Durchweg mehr als 95 Mbit an.
Viel wichtiger fr mich als die Rohleistung ist aber, dass keines der Gerte mehr Verbindungsabbrche vorweist. Selbst wenn der TV streamt (4K) werden alle anderen Gerte mit genug Bandbreite versorgt und knnen nahtlos” surfen, YouTube gucken etc..
Das Load Balancing bzw. die Bandbreitenverteilung ist hier wirklich gelungen.
Fazit:
Die App ist verbesserungswrdig und der Zierring Geschmackssache, die abgelieferte Leistung jedoch, sowohl was Empfang aber auch das Handling bei vielen Gerten betrifft, rechtfertigt aber den Preis aber absolut! Daher 5 Sterne, denn Kleinigkeiten sind immer. Auf’m Platz ist wichtig!
Not the cheapest mesh router but the units are solid and substantial, set-up was easy and coverage, signal strength and speed from my Virgin Media SuperHub 3 are now optimal throughout the house. Highly recommended.
Very stable Wi-fi now, getting the BT speed delivered to my router and around the property Covers 5 bed bungalow and gardens. Easy to set up.
The one issue? Devices connected through the satellite unit will lose that connection after a few days and connect to the base unit instead. Whilst everything still works, the speed drops off. The solution is to re-boot the satellite and all’s well for the next few days. Hopefully there’ll be a software fix soon!
I had a Netgear Nighthawk extender that gave me about 50mbps in my garden office. It really throttled down the speed being delivered at the Virgin router. Then it started dropping out and needed a reboot every few days. So, I went for this D-Link and it’s giving me around 150mbps in the office! A distance of around 50 feet through 3 brick walls. Highly recommended.
The amplifier of this product widens our internet connection’s coverage more than 500 square meters. This comes with high-speed Wi-Fi and multiple antennas that’ll leave us without dead Wi-Fi zones in your home.
The best things we have this COVR are that we won’t have to memorize usernames and passwords for each network which is extremely convenient. We can freely transfer these from one room to another while staying connected to our strongest signal. No need to disconnect and reconnect and that’s another good thing.
Final words: We luckily don’t need to worry about weak or lost signal as the COVR-2202 did work very effectively and it boosted our Wi-Fi signal better than what we expected. It showed great coverage and we didn’t have any problems with the connection. Extremely cool and amazing, so we’re giving the COVR-2202 two thumbs up for its performance.
It was very easy to setup; all I had to do was download the app from the Playstore and follow the on-screen instructions. Set-up took maybe 5-10 mins maximum, including updating the software to the latest version. The package comes with 2 access points. One of the access points had to be connected to my existing modem/router with an Ethernet cable and the other access point is placed wherever you like. I recommend to have it where you previously had the poorest Wi-fi signal.
The access points themselves have a nice sleek design with COVR written on the front which lights up white when the system is on and working, and flashes orange when booting up. They seem to work in unison so that no matter where I was at home, the device I was on automatically and seamlessly switched to the access point with the best signal meaning I never had to deal with disconnect/reconnect issues and could use devices like my phone or tablet whilst moving about, say from the kitchen to the bedroom. I read on the box that if the 2 access point solution is not enough, you can buy more access points and connect them to the same system to extend it even further. Although I definitely don’t need it, it’s good to know the option is available should I move homes in the future.
The access points have provided strong enough signal that I am now getting my full 150mb Virgin Service across the whole home without any drops in speed or latency. If you’re tired of your existing router or annoyed with the rubbish that BT/Virgin/Sky etc provide you with, this thing is a godsend!
