I use this as an external monitor for my MacBook Air M1. The image quality is amazing and is match for the retina display!
The USB hub is also really extensive – I can charge and connect all my external devices directly from the monitor!
Positives
+ Slim, smart looking – OK not the wow factor of Macs but nice clean lines and takes up minimal space.
+ hi res screen.
+ Plenty bright with setting at 60% for ‘office’ work. Colours are natural and not oversaturated. For photo editing I prefer to pump up the volume a bit to 80-90. Then colours pop.
– Read somewhere that the many USB and Video in/out make it like a ‘docking station’. Well not for me. I till haven’t figured out how the all work with my mini. Could only really get the HDMI input to operate as I wanted. Am sure the USB C would work too but I got tired of trying to figure them out.
– As above, instructions are not helpful.
– Using the USB outs for charging is a pain. Some don’t supply anything and the ones that do switch off when the screen goes to standby.
Purchased this screen to use as third screen with a MacBook Pro (2022). Great image resolution for day to day admin working, graphics and picture editing. No idea re. Gaming, I’m not a gamer. Took a bit of fiddling as already had a second screen connected via HDMI. Even when I didn’t have second screen plugged in, I still couldn’t get this screen to connect via HDMI. Purchased a Anker USB C to DisplayPort Adapter and plugged directly into MacBook Pro. Works like a dream as second or third screen. Setup is relatively light and sturdy. Would recommend.
No-screw installation is easy.
Purchased this to replace my old monitor. Picture quality is much improved from my previous one!
I bought this to go alongside an older Dell 25″ ultra sharp
The picture quality is excellent, really sharp, vibrant and bright
The built in USBC hub also means I can remove my existing dock and all the cables
The resolution at 1440p is perfect for 25-27″ screens, everything is really sharp but unlike a 4K screen apps that don’t support scaling are still usable and not too small.
I got mine today as my 24inch HD is not big enough for wfh.
Since this is uHD (ultra) which supports 4k at 60hz. You can use the USB C (correct one) from macbook laptop to USB C on the back of the monitor for data and power; which means it will also charge your laptop up to 90 watts, output video to the display, other ports for daisy chaining or switching between desktop-desktop, or desktop-laptop. I high recommend reading the manual of different examples and applying correct settings.
Bearing in mind if you do use the USB C for upstream (only) from desktop machine (not laptop) to monitor, you can use the USB A ports at the back for connecting mouse, keyboard, headphones etc.
The front outputs (1 USB C and 1 USB A) are for powering usb devices up to 15 watts.
My current set up is Macbook pro USB C to HDMI (1.2), and personalisation settings for HDMI to USB C (2). Although the quality won’t be as high as USB C to USB C (monitor with data and charging) it’s still sharp. i prefer to stick with the original charger to ensure it does not mess up with my battery on a long term. Better to use a hub or optional settings as per to the monitor’s manual guide that is available online.
Excellent quality screen and the array of inputs is enough for a designer’s setup.
Excellent quality monitor as you’d expect from Dell
Easily connected to my laptop via HDMI
Glad I went for the higher resolution QHD and paid the extra, it should last me many years before I think of replacing it.
The picture quality is excellent. I use it only on HD via HDMI currently due to my ancient graphics card having no displayport connector.
I tried the highest resolution using the usbc connector on a high end laptop. Again, excellent picture quality.
The screen is bright, sharp with excellent colour rendering.
I must also mention the superb stand.
I would have liked a DVI and another HDMI connector, my only grumble!
The colours this thing puts out are amazing, certainly if you’re into print or video production you will not be disappointed.
Biggest, but least surprising let-down is screen resolution. This will not impress if you’re used to “retina displays” or UHD screens.
To these eyes, the colour reproduction alone is worth the money. The convenience of the ports and “always on” charging is well worth the cost. Especially as it has me re-using previously neglected devices thanks to the usefulness of this monitor.
If your main use is not 4k or super-high-res, this is EXCELLENT value, get it, love it.
The stand works really well too, but looks a bit ‘corporate’ in a home set up so I went for an Amazon Basics monitor arm and it looks much neater. I’m very happy with this and glad I didn’t spend more on a larger 4k display.
I was going to opt for a 24″ screen but the screen resolution was putting me off, I felt full HD probably wouldn’t be enough. I spotted the UH2520D on one of the many YouTube review pages and it seemed to fit the bill for size and slightly higher resolution, the 99% colour accuracy wast also a positive factor.
I took the plunge an it arrived today. Very impressed with the colour accuracy against the MacBook screen. The colour preset defaults to Standard, but a couple of clicks to ‘Colour Space’ switches the preset to sRGB and it looks great without any further tweaking.
Plenty of ports to plug SSD’s and the USB-C cable allows me to charge the MacBook.
Very good picture quality and adjustability to get the correct position.
Colors are vibrant and good definition, not a 4K but works great for me (previous monitor was a Full HD 24″).
If you are into the dark mode fashion statement the display is a bit too reflective, that’s about the only less positive thing I found about it. Besides daisy chaining not working with macOS but that’s Apple’s fault, not Dell’s 🙂
This monitor works fine for me. The only issue is that its uniformity isn’t great. When I’m reading papers, the left side of the panel seems darker and warmer than the right side. But I think I can live with it. It is a good monitor for office.
Unfortunately after only a few hours use the screen would go black for two or three seconds, when the display image came back it would have vertical lines or distorted colours. Switching the monitor off and back on would resolve the problem. I tried different solutions, different cables and eventually a different computer but the problem persisted.
I contacted Amazon to request an exchange. They could not do that so put me through to Dell, who suggested I return it to Amazon. I explained that Amazon put me through to them to request an exchange. After ages on the phone they said they would contact me by email within 2-4 days. This didn’t happen so I requested a refund from Amazon, which went very smoothly.
I then ordered anew monitor from Amazon which has been fine and I would give it five stars. Excellent image, the mounting stand has plenty of adjustments for height, tilt and rotation both vertically and horizontally.
My first monitor was clearly faulty, which can happen, but it was difficult to do a simple exchange. I would suggest that if you do receive a faulty monitor and it is within the returns window it is simplest to return to Amazon.
I have to say for the money this monitor delivers a Very High Quality 1440p picture! This even has a HDR setting which adds to bonus! I recently bought a cheap 4k monitor and I had to send it back as the colours were poor blacks were washed out grey and the Whites were fuzzy and unclear! But not this Dell monitor, Colours are vibrant deep blacks are bright clear whites are delivered! The picture quality is so crisp as well! This monitor is even pretty good for gaming too at 60Hz. Nice!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant color, perfect resolution 2k for 25 inch monitor, no graininess, height adjustable, horizontal and vertical compatibility. Only shortage is the 3.5mm audio out is not good enough, noise floor is obvious.
Modest size on the desk, bright, clear image, no faulty pixels, enough resolution to read small text when showing two A4 documents side by side. Cannot fault it now that I’ve discovered the menu option that turns on the indicator LED.
Got a pair of the 25″ QHD monitors to replace some 27″ 4K monitors from LG which my partner found to be too big. There wasn’t much in terms of choice at this size with 4K resolution and now I see why – QHD is more than sufficient at a distance of over 2ft (normal sitting distance while used on a desk). They are being used for software development.
The monitors have no defects and the stands make them really flexible, with them rotating in all directions.
Only negative is the lack of HDMI cables and the shortness of the supplied cables, but that’s a minor thing.
Amazing quality! Great connectivity: I am using this monitor with my MacBook Pro and I managed to set it up so that I only connect the monitor via the USB-C and my keyboard, mouse and another USB device come up at once. A great quality monitor like every other Dell monitor in this range.
Very light compared to the older models I have and the stand is much more adjustable, allowing for a higher position. The bezel is tiny and the buttons are all responsive. Having them below the screen is a much better design than the front-facing buttons on the old monitors which could easily be knocked. I have it connected by Thunderbolt/USB Type-C directly to the Mac.
I wish the USB ports which came out of the side came out of the bottom instead, because I can’t actually use them in a multi-monitor setup; there isn’t enough space without leaving an unsightly gap between the screens! I don’t think there would even be enough space for a thin right angled connector. But there are a couple of additional USB ports on the back so it’s still a benefit overall. The monitor is gloss rather than matte but the anti-glare coating does a good job and I can use it next to my office window just fine. Now I just need to resist buying a second…
