Love the aesthetics and the image quality, but if you’re using it with a standing desk, you should get ready to deal with the wobble. A solution that works for me is a monitor light which adds extra weight an limits the wobble. Eventually, I will get a monitor arm
Un gran monitor, una calidad de construccin muy correcta. La pantalla se ve de cine, lo tengo conectado a travs de USB C con un MacBook Air M1, estoy encantado!
I have that I use in dual monitor setup. USB-C from the laptop to first monitor. This also powers the laptop. Less wires. I like that. One DisplayPort cable between the monitors. Also less cables. I like that. Great picture. No problems.
Price is pretty high. However the quality and connectivity makes them a good value.
Have two of these displays, just ordered a third, great connectivity, you can’t daisy chain on Mac not supported but all other features are great. Returned as box arrived damaged
I like this monitor. It’s plenty large enough, has good resolution, and good colour depth in HDR mode. It’s not a super-fast gaming monitor, but I don’t mind at all.
The USB-C hub is a game changer, especially if you plan on connecting your laptop to this. It essentially allows you to have your desk and peripherals set up akin to a desktop, and all connected to your laptop by 1 cable! One!
Fast. Speedy. Clean.
My only suggestion would be that the cable management hole in the upright of the stand is nice for a few cables, but if you’ve got a load of cables all plugged in, it may be a tight squeeze.
I found the wiring rather confusing. Perhaps, Dell could have been made clearer by numbering the wires, say, 1,2, 3 and showing same on the diagram. At the same time I changed to a new Dell computer and got the computer shop to transfer all over. When I switched on the screen it had nothing on the desktop …… I phoned, apparently there are several screens on Windows 11 and I needed to press Windows button and P at the same time to change to the correct screen. Well, I am now over 70. (“We don’t like change, do we dear!”). Happy now.
After reading a number of reviews I decided in favor for the Dell. I found it fairly easy to set up (not a techie person at all) and connect to my windows laptop. I found it worked best to buy an external port and connect both to that.
The limitations that others have noted include poorer quality text. That was a bummer for me as I use to primarily for reading/drafting text. I was able to sharpen it up to some extent by playing with the settings and scale. I’ve learned to live with that though would suggest those who are mainly working in text look for a monitor that reproduces it more crisply.
Because it doesn’t have a built in camera I do zoom calls from the laptop that it’s connected to. That’s fine though at that price point having a camera and good speakers don’t seem too much to ask.
I bought this monitor to replace an older version (U2515H) after it was damaged.
The monitors are very similar (down to using the same panel), with a few improvements:
– Physical buttons, more reliable than the capacitive ones on the U2515H
– USB C input with power delivery
There are a few downsides however:
– Fewer inputs – only 1 HDMI compared to 2 on the U2515H
– Wide colour gamut – this may not sound like a downside, but the wider colour gamut means that in standard mode colours are very oversaturated. There is an sRGB mode, but for some stupid reason it limits the display brightness significantly. It is noticeably dimmer than my other U2515H for the same brightness setting in this mode.
It would be a pretty much perfect monitor if not for the limited brightness in sRGB mode. I just don’t understand why they did this.
It would be less of an issue if operating systems offered proper colour control options to compensate in all applications, but this isn’t the case.
after reading multiple reviews, I got this monitor for work.
delivery only took a few days, and setup was easy, with no issues on my M1 Macbook. the default resolution is 1080, but I was easily able to change to 4k in settings
it has a stunningly beautiful display (so crisp!) and the stand does a good job.
definitely recommended!
I was disappointed that the resolution & scaling settings cannot be made to suit apple devices nicely. It is fine and if you’re on a budget it will probably do, but the text will look slightly fuzzier if compared to a retina display. Sadly, for me it’s going back
Bought to use along with a Mac mini computer , replacing an old 27″ iMac.
Positives
+ Slim, smart looking – OK not the wow factor of Macs but nice clean lines and takes up minimal space.
+ hi res screen.
+ Plenty bright with setting at 60% for ‘office’ work. Colours are natural and not oversaturated. For photo editing I prefer to pump up the volume a bit to 80-90. Then colours pop.
– Read somewhere that the many USB and Video in/out make it like a ‘docking station’. Well not for me. I till haven’t figured out how the all work with my mini. Could only really get the HDMI input to operate as I wanted. Am sure the USB C would work too but I got tired of trying to figure them out.
– As above, instructions are not helpful.
– Using the USB outs for charging is a pain. Some don’t supply anything and the ones that do switch off when the screen goes to standby.
Purchased this screen to use as third screen with a MacBook Pro (2022). Great image resolution for day to day admin working, graphics and picture editing. No idea re. Gaming, I’m not a gamer. Took a bit of fiddling as already had a second screen connected via HDMI. Even when I didn’t have second screen plugged in, I still couldn’t get this screen to connect via HDMI. Purchased a Anker USB C to DisplayPort Adapter and plugged directly into MacBook Pro. Works like a dream as second or third screen. Setup is relatively light and sturdy. Would recommend.
Connected with MacBook Pro for photo editing. DCI-P3 98% color is great. Similar to MacBook Pro Display. USB type C connection is convenient. Can be used to output graphic and charge the MacBook Pro at the same time. USB Type C to Type C, Type A to Type C and HDMI cables are included.
No-screw installation is easy.
Colours are great and the ports in the mac have saved me from buying a dock for the mac mini. The monitor comes with usbc to hdmi, usbc to usbc, and usbc to usb wires which have all come into use saving me some more money. I checked the display for any imperfections and there weren’t any. I’ve wall mounted mine and it’s no problem to install. Overall I really like this monitor, i’m a designer so colours need to be almost perfect, this does the job. Not that I expected it to match it but it’s noticeably dimmer than my iMac screen. If anyone is coming from the iMac and considering getting a mac mini, download Lunar which lets you change your brightness like the iMac. This monitor supports that and works a treat.
I bought this to go alongside an older Dell 25″ ultra sharp
The picture quality is excellent, really sharp, vibrant and bright
The built in USBC hub also means I can remove my existing dock and all the cables
The resolution at 1440p is perfect for 25-27″ screens, everything is really sharp but unlike a 4K screen apps that don’t support scaling are still usable and not too small.
I researched a lot before making this purchase and I am really happy with this decision of mine. I wanted a good quality monitor which fits my desk with good screen real estate (mainly to use my DAW) and USB C power delivery, and this one is perfect. Using with my 2019 macbook pro 16 inch without any issues. Charges the laptop and switches it on when I power on the monitor, so no need to open the laptop ever. The USB C cable was a bit short for my purpose got a third party 2 meter 4k USB C cable with PD and it works perfectly. Connected my external HD to the monitor still few more ports left 🙂 Using the HDMI port to connect my work laptop which works fine as well. This monitor has everything you could ask for 2 usb A ports, 2 usb c ports (one with PD) HDMI, DP, Strong and sturdy stand, thin bezels, great monitor for a good price.
it’s not quite as bright as I would like but for the technology used it is very good and is certainly very usable for video editing on my Mac Studio which I bought it fo
This monitor is excellent, certainly the best external one I’ve owned.
The colours this thing puts out are amazing, certainly if you’re into print or video production you will not be disappointed.
Biggest, but least surprising let-down is screen resolution. This will not impress if you’re used to “retina displays” or UHD screens.
To these eyes, the colour reproduction alone is worth the money. The convenience of the ports and “always on” charging is well worth the cost. Especially as it has me re-using previously neglected devices thanks to the usefulness of this monitor.
If your main use is not 4k or super-high-res, this is EXCELLENT value, get it, love it.
I spent a week looking at various monitors to accompany my new MacBook Air M1. I am a wedding photographer and wanted a screen that would accurately display colours in Lightroom and provide plenty of USB ports (due to the lack of them on the Air)…without breaking the bank!
I was going to opt for a 24″ screen but the screen resolution was putting me off, I felt full HD probably wouldn’t be enough. I spotted the UH2520D on one of the many YouTube review pages and it seemed to fit the bill for size and slightly higher resolution, the 99% colour accuracy wast also a positive factor.
I took the plunge an it arrived today. Very impressed with the colour accuracy against the MacBook screen. The colour preset defaults to Standard, but a couple of clicks to ‘Colour Space’ switches the preset to sRGB and it looks great without any further tweaking.
Plenty of ports to plug SSD’s and the USB-C cable allows me to charge the MacBook.
I ordered this and was impressed when it first arrived. It is about the right size for my desk. The image is noticeably sharper than my (smaller) full HD Dell monitor, the colours are also more accurate.
Unfortunately after only a few hours use the screen would go black for two or three seconds, when the display image came back it would have vertical lines or distorted colours. Switching the monitor off and back on would resolve the problem. I tried different solutions, different cables and eventually a different computer but the problem persisted.
I contacted Amazon to request an exchange. They could not do that so put me through to Dell, who suggested I return it to Amazon. I explained that Amazon put me through to them to request an exchange. After ages on the phone they said they would contact me by email within 2-4 days. This didn’t happen so I requested a refund from Amazon, which went very smoothly.
I then ordered anew monitor from Amazon which has been fine and I would give it five stars. Excellent image, the mounting stand has plenty of adjustments for height, tilt and rotation both vertically and horizontally.
My first monitor was clearly faulty, which can happen, but it was difficult to do a simple exchange. I would suggest that if you do receive a faulty monitor and it is within the returns window it is simplest to return to Amazon.
I bought this to connect to my new 2018 Mac Mini as my old screens (Dell’s older 2209WAs) weren’t holding up well. What’s not to like? This is a 25″ 1440p IPS screen. Not the biggest or highest resolution, but exactly what I wanted and at a reasonable price point – it’s noticeably better than the smaller screens but not as high resolution as the bigger ones which cost twice as much.
Very light compared to the older models I have and the stand is much more adjustable, allowing for a higher position. The bezel is tiny and the buttons are all responsive. Having them below the screen is a much better design than the front-facing buttons on the old monitors which could easily be knocked. I have it connected by Thunderbolt/USB Type-C directly to the Mac.
I wish the USB ports which came out of the side came out of the bottom instead, because I can’t actually use them in a multi-monitor setup; there isn’t enough space without leaving an unsightly gap between the screens! I don’t think there would even be enough space for a thin right angled connector. But there are a couple of additional USB ports on the back so it’s still a benefit overall. The monitor is gloss rather than matte but the anti-glare coating does a good job and I can use it next to my office window just fine. Now I just need to resist buying a second…
