This was one of the more cost-effective desk-mounted extension plugs I could find, but at 50, I still think pretty pricey. That said, if you want something that is desk mutable, and not an eyesore, then this is a good option. I bought this particular one as it has USB sockets and USB-C power sockets and I was looking to reduce the number of plugs and maximize the number of power sockets by using these where possible. The USB is not a replacement for my laptop plug though – it doesn’t send enough power, so I still need to use the mains lead that came with the laptop (presumably as it has a transformer in it). Not a deal breaker, but wasn’t quite what I hoped for. That said, still happy enough with it (or as happy as you can be about an extension socket!)
I always worry when there are extension leads with more than 2 or 3 sockets in them that they will blow up or start a fire, with this one though I do not need to worry. With the built-in surge protector I am confident in the knowledge that I can plug 8 plugs in and if there is a surge it will be protected and not blow up. It obviously takes up a little room but I am happy with that as I feel safe with it.
Solidly made and reassuringly strong for an office environment. I like the switch which enables me to turn everything off at one go. I’ve only given 4 stars because I’ve mounted it on its side and in this configuration the USB C plug falls out. Maybe if it were mounted horizontally it would be OK.
Good quality
Easy to mount (screws provided)
A bit expensive however has descent usb power supplies which actually justify the price
Product seems quite good quality, Sturdily built. You can tell it’s durable and long lasting. Proper thing.
Very stylish and neat design , has plenty of sockets for computer workstation. USB charging ports is a great feature and plus, very helpful. I also really like the long extension cord, very practical.
Overall it’s a brilliant product, only gripe is it seems A bit more expensive than the competition.
The extension has approximately 3 m long cable. Easy to fix it under the table.
The usb chargers are fast ones.
Recommended product.
I remember on programs like Tomorrows World they said the offices & desks of the future would be less cluttered & have a clean minimalist look to them. Yet despite things like wireless charging mats the underside of most desks looks like an explosion in a pasta factory. Also as one gets older one gets less inclined to go crawling under a desk as the knees wont take it & the risk of a banged head is high.
So a product like the ” , 3 18 -, – 3 ” from “” makes sense from a tidiness & ease of access point of view. Included in the package are the flowing: –
1 x Desk Power Socket with USB-C & USB-A
4 x Screws
1 x User Manual
– & -. Style wise the body of this power strip is rather boxy, in fact when I first got it it reminded me of the 1990 Dudley Moore comedy “Crazy People” where he comes up with the advertising slogan for a certain brand of Swedish car which was “They’re boxy but they’re good”. The body of the power strip is made of Aluminium Alloy. So the unit is very robust, though you may want to mount it far enough back under your desk so as not to bang your knees on its rather sharp corners.
The body of the unit measures: 11″/30.1 x 1″/4.5 so there is enough space around the outlets for bulky power adaptors.
Power is supplied to the unit on its left hand side via a 9′ 10″/3 heavy duty cable with a permanently attached UK 3-Pin plug with a 13 fuse.
At each of the four top corners of the unit is an aluminium lug with a hole so that the power strip can be screwed to the underside of the desk or to a wall.
The power strip is controlled by a combined rocker switch, this not only controls the power to the unit but also resets the electrical short circuit, over heat, over charging, over current and over voltage circuits every-time it is switched to the On position.
There are three UK 3-Pin power outlets arranged side by side which are rated to 250/13, 3250. Unfortunately all three outlets are controlled by the one switch, for the price of the unit I would’ve liked individual control for each.
There are also two USB outlets of differing types: –
USB-A Output: 5 3/9 2/12 1.5.
USB-C Output: 5 3/9 2.22/12 1.66.
These five outlets allow you to safely power or quickly charge multiple devices & cut down on the spaghetti junction under your desk & keep cable from trailing over the floor. The circuit breaker, industrial power strip will automatically cut off power when working current exceeds rated current, prevent overloading circuits and protect the devices from spikes, fire or other unsafe occurrences.
. There are four screws included to allow you to screw the power strip to the underside of the desk. They should be short enough not to come through your desk ut its worthwhile checking before doing so.
. There is an instruction manual listed on the page as being in the contents, this wasn’t included with mine though its no great loos as there’s nothing to really instruct.
It’s a very nice unit, well made & robust. But I’m struggling to see where they arrive at the price of 59.99!? You can buy power strips with more sockets or more features for a lot less money. Yes most of them are plastic but most modern thermoset plastic units are very strong & light as well as being natural insulators. Maybe the internal electrical protection is of a very high quality? So if you’re looking to protect sensitive
&/or equipment you may want to spend the extra money. Also if you are going for a contemporary industrial look it will fit in though the unit is set up to be fitted underneath a desk out of sight.
I can confirm that this product is of very good quality . It is solid and strong. It is 3 m long extension. Both USB and USB C are fast charging (other extension leads I had were not fast ones). Comes with 4 screws, its great that it can be fixed to the bottom of desk or table. I love the product and all it is but I think 60 is a bit much for an extension lead.
I hope my review and photos were helpful
I tend to have a chaotic desk with my gaming console, Laptop, Phone and writing tools all in one place. This makes for a messy desk with wires getting in the way of my stationary and my laptop. The nearest plug is in the hallway, So we use an extension lead, But this is not ideal.
This under desk power strip was the solution, As it supplied power much closer to my desk and nothing can be seen unless you peep under the desk. The cables look much tidier and my desk looks organized, Overall i can’t fault this power strip.
We have a sleek black power socket which is designed to be attached under a desk.
The cord is 3m long which is great as so many extension leads are ridiculously short.
Three ordinary plug sockets plus two different USB sockets, the standard A plus the newer C. Plenty of space to plug in your laptop and printer, charge your phone and anything else.
There is a red switch on the unit so it can be switched off completely without having to access the wall socket. The switch lights up red when it is on, so easy to see in the dark to switch it off.
It comes with 4 screws but mine didn’t come with an instruction book as the listing says, but it is fairly straightforward!
I won’t be attaching it under the desk as I think it would still be awkward to get to if you are going to be using the USB sockets, and you would need a long USB cable to be able to put your items on the desk when they are charging, unless you have a shelf underneath your desk.
It feels sturdy and very well made.
I have deducted a star as I think the price at just under 50 is not competitive compared to others which do the same job.
This power socket has everything thing you need to power your desk.
The stylish design can be installed under desk to create a tidy and easy to reach plug system.
You get three uk mains plug sockets plus handy USB and the new USC ports which are great for powering phones and tablets without loosing a main power socket.
The cable is nice and long so your desk doesn’t have to be right next to a wall socket.
I like that it also has a main on or off switch to cut power off to your desk sockets as it makes it easy to switch everything off and not leave them on standby all the time.
Overall this is a good quality desk socket and well worth a try.
Although comparatively expensive (49.98) this desk power strip/extension cable is reassuringly robust. The integrated mounting bracket means that once in situ this strip is not going anywhere, it is very easy to fit, the only adjustment that might be required are the size of the screws and this would depend upon the thickness of the bench which you are attaching it to, I got round this by using quarter inch thick plastic washers. The added benefit of power surge protection is very handy especially when you are plugging in expensive pieces of equipment. Slightly confusing and not addressed in the description is the power switch which is either off or reset, it doesn’t say on anywhere, maybe it resets the power surge function (that would be my guess as there is no information with it).
This is a decent 8 way adaptor, but the design means that power supplies and similar items block the use of sockets on their opposite side, in practice giving around 6 usable sockets for normal household appliances. The USB sockets are standard ones, but because they are lined up between the mains sockets, it’s likely that one or two may also be blocked off by power supplies using the mains sockets.
The switch turns off all the sockets at once. The surge protection should save your devices from some power spikes.
There are holes for mounting onto a wall with screws and the 2 M cable gives as lot of flexibility in location.
A very sleek looking black eight way plug adaptor. The lead is some two metres in length so, could have been longer but a decent length nonetheless. It’s main draw is that it has eight available sockets though for safety reasons and despite its in-built surge protection it’s best not to use all of them simultaneously for safety reasons.
I really like this clean subtle design of this extension, for just over 15 is great value and again good quality product which I feel confident using. The USB ports free’s up sockets for other devices that do not use a USB with an adapter! Will most likely buy another!
I am currently using this in my living room on my tv, Thanks to this being an 8 way I have plenty of sockets for all the consoles and devices.
There is also 3 USB ports which are great to be able to plug my phone in to charge or the strip lights around my tv. Along with this there is an on and off switch meaning you can cut the power via the extension lead itself instead of the wall switch.
The overall quality feels great and the lead is nice and thick compared to some I have had in the past.
I think for the price of 18.99 this is great value.
Ordered this to replace old 4 plug extension lead and works great. My daughter is use at desk and plenty of plugs for games console and tv and all accessories as well as lamp and USB slots for phone.Working well has good length lead and is compact and well built.Works as should and very happy.
Looks quite bulky and well made. Feels durable and is versatile because of the the 3K high capacity. Perfect near a desk or entertainment system.
The outlets aren’t spaced together tightly, so I was able to fit in standard sized plugs along with bigger gaming plugs and a bulky travel adapter without an issue – everything could be easily removed/plugged in.
Mounting it on the wall is a breeze. I like that it mounts vertically rather than horizontally because then I can easily access both sides of the outlets and without obstructing the USB ports. There are corner pads at the bottom of the extension lead as well that help it stay put when it’s on the floor.
Considering how many devices it can handle, I’m really glad that it has a built-in overload protector – I can have peace of mind that the extension lead will switch off if the power is dangerously high.
The USB ports charge my devices surprisingly fast – almost as if I’m using the wall outlet directly.
The on/off switches are very useful so that I don’t have to constantly remove the plug from the wall to turn it off. It’s convenient and effective, and the LED indicator confirms that the extension lead is turned on/off.
Impressed with the quality and durability so far so I would be happy to recommend.

8 Way Extension Lead with USB, 3000W Power Strips Standard UK Plug Built-in Surge Protector
3KW total capacity, that’s what we have with this extension unit, which, by the way, is far higher than most as they limit load capacity to 2.5KW! The load capacity impressed me but what also was impressive was the build quality along with the USB charging ports, these are more powerful than most USB ports found on extension sockets as it will give a total load of 17W shared, a lot of the competition only allow 12W!
Main key features that I personally liked:
Big load capacity of 3KW
17W USB ports
Good build quality
Long 2m power cord
Adequate spacing between sockets
Wall mountable!!
Built in safety features
Master on/off switch
Highly recommended – Worth Buying
This 8 way extension lead has a lot going for it, it’s very well made and will offer quite a bit of power, not just for plugs but also USB devices.
First off, this is wall mountable, no screws or wall plugs are supplied, however the spaces are on the back allowing this to be positioned either way, horizontally! This is very useful as many extension units only allow for them to be positioned one way and you are left with having the power lead coming out of the left or right, depending on the extension purchased, this gives you the option of both.
The 2m power cord is long enough for my needs and should be adequate for most situations, the lead has a fitted fused plug which bears the British Standards mark BS1363, the fitted fuse can easily be changed if need be.
The plugs fitted into the sockets very smoothly with no resistance, both of the 2 lines of sockets mirror each other so that you don’t have wires trailing in one direction. Remember the maximum load of 3kw, this could take a computer, monitor, printer, and all the other peripherals no problem. In the kitchen, it would take the average 2.5kw kettle and radio etc. If in the unlikely event the extension is overloaded it will switch off, the master switch has to be then pressed to reset it.
A red LED confirms power is on, the rocker switch controls all the sockets in one go.
The 3 x USB ports can supply 17W max, shared between all 3 ports, so if you plugged in 3 devices, on average, around 5W will go to each device. If you want to take advantage of the 12W of power, then just plug in 1 x USB device, this sure charges up a mobile phone when used!
Overall, 22.39 is a fair price to pay, there’s currently (31/08/21) a 3 voucher available making this extension 19.39!
Very happy to recommend!
This is a good tough extension lead.
Having a 2 meter lead it is certainly enough for most household or office needs.
The power block itself has 8 normal power points and 3 USB power points so can plug in 11 devides in total.
It is strong and tough, most people can stand on this and not damage it.
It also has a switch to turn off all power to it which is handy.
A good extension lead for home or office needs.
I was impressed by this 8 gang extension lead to come with a maximum of 3kw rating. So many extensions now are low rated and just not suitable for heating appliances that take a lot of current. This 8 socket extension has more flexibility than most and also comes with USB charging ports.
The 3 USB charging ports(5V/3.4A), can charge 3 devices at the same time, but only supply a maximum of 2.4A fast charging. It can also automatically identify and assign the current to your devices. If you are looking for a purpose built charging station, this is a very good option, as you also have a further 8 sockets available for other chargers and devices.
The mains outlets and USB ports are all protected by a current and surge-protected switch. This lights a small red LED when in the ON position. Curious to know how well this switch worked I carried out a thermal imager test on the extension block when running one single 3kw heater. The switch remained cool on the thermal camera and showed only slight warming from under the rear panel. This indicates that the switch is in fact correctly rated and should be safe for running up to the maximum output current. Likewise the supply lead and fitted 13A fused UK plug remained cool during the test.
It’s a difficult design challenge to provide 8 mains outlets without creating an ugly box, or a long socket board. This design placing 4 opposing sockets one above the other seems to work well, although the upper row does turn the sockets upside down to allow a safer wire passage away from the lower row. I think, given the constraints of space, this 8 gang extension block does a good job.
A good 8 gang extension socket, with the main protection switch and 3 USB ports to give an exceptional output capacity for charging and running appliances.
