Forearm Pronation

The DXT’s semi-vertical design allows the mouse to be held from a more natural and “functionally neutral” position with the hand gently resting on its side at an angle of 50˚ to 70˚.

Studies show that most comfortable position for mouse operation is when the thumb is higher than the little finger (anywhere between 10˚ and 90˚of rotation).

Static Grip Force

The DXT mouse does not encourage static gripping or “pinch grip” by utilising the low power producing instrinsic muscles of the hand and creating accuracy through fluid, dynamic movement.

Furthermore, excessive gripping is not even allowed due to the DXT’s ultra light button click force of 50 grams which allow users to hold and operate with a feather-light touch from a fully relaxed hand and finger position.

Wrist Extension

The DXT’s semi-vertical design eliminates all wrist surface contact which allows a more natural and intuitive wrist posture for relaxed and precise control.

Shoulder/Neck Isolation

The smaller DXT mouse spreads the load of moving the mouse throughout the entire arm and hand, reducing stress on the shoulder and neck allowing the hand, elbow and shoulder to work in synergy. No part of the limb is completely isolated.

This is my favourite brand of vertical mouse. I have purchased this brand before and would do so again. However I will not buy another mouse with a rechargeable battery. While I love how this mouse functions I do not like to having to double click to turn the mouse back on every time I let it sit for a few minutes. I want the mouse to start when I move it. I do not like having to plug the mouse in every few days to recharge the battery. It is a pain in the neck. Other than that I highly recommend the DTX upright mouse for anyone with wrist or elbow issues. I had problems with pain in my right elbow when disappeared completely once I started using a vertical mouse.

I had borrowed a previous model of the same mouse. The new keyboard be performs well, as did the earlier model. The main difference in a the new one (from Amazon) is it’s much shorter, that is to say less tall. And it is not optimum for my disability. Good shape, good design, I prefer the earlier model.

Keep looking at other makes, but always come back to these. Others have more features but look larger. A big plus is you can easily use with either hand, which takes practice but can be really useful. Theres very little movement required – I use it for work & use revit. A couple of smart buttons would be nice, to launch other apps but that might require software, which the mouse doesnt at the moment- like trying to improve a pencil, theres no need. They seem expensive, but are really good.

I managed to break the dongle and it wasn’t easy to get a replacement, so I gave up and bought a new one as there isn’t anything similar in size and functionality to this mouse out there. I wish it was Bluetooth so we could do away with the dongle altogether.

This is perfect for me, I use it for work. With a regular mouse I get pain in my hands & wrists and with this I don’t, it’s that simple! I like to be able to switch hands if I do have pain and all other ergonomic mice seem to be one hand only. I got this to replace the wired version after pulling the wires out (it had had unreasonable force applied). It is very expensive but there really is nothing else that would do. I don’t know if it would work as well for people with large hands, my hands are quite small. The battery lasts for weeks. Anyone wanting to use my computer hates this mouse (just because it’s unfamiliar) with is either good or bad depending what kind of person you are 😛

I have tried various vertical mouse; some were too big, some of buttons were too heavy to click. Since I bought this mouse, I don’t need to do any more mouse shopping. This is it! This mouse is very light to move. so no strength required. I can switch left and right just by button, so when I get tired from one side, I can switch very quickly (without changing Window’s mouse setting). Middle scroll is just right. you can control sensitivity by setting on the bottom. No software required, so very simple and usable with many device. I use mouse 8-9hr per day on weekday. The buttery last about 2-3 weeks.

This mouse, and its wired sibling, are the best ergonomic ambidextrous mice I’ve ever used. I tried touchpads, roller balls, joysticks, and other, similarly oriented ergonomic mice to this one, but they’re just not as good for me as this mouse is. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to work.

The ability to switch hands throughout the day is brilliant and helps me manage my symptoms (by effectively “load balancing” across both hands)

Yes, the price may feel expensive, but it’s worth it in my opinion. I had to use a normal mouse a few weeks ago, and within 30 minutes I was in discomfort. This mouse enables me to work all day, for months, with zero discomfort.

The after-purchase care is great, too. The manufacturer really cares. I recently had two different issues with two mice and they sorted them out no problem.

In short: If using a mouse hurts you, try this. I wouldn’t be able to work without it.

I was using a DXT mouse (wired version) for several years. It was a real workhorse and was brilliant. I never looked back after the wrist benefits. Downside of the wired one was that the cable was vulnerable when wrapped up to travel. Eventually the scroll wheel went iffy, so 5 years on I have bought a wireless one.
The bluetooth version is just as good, smooth and fast and with the right speed setting (adjustable) there is no need to move my arm or even the “heel” of my hand at all, just fingertips. I don’t find any problems using it whilst charging, the cable is just out of the way nicely.
I use it every day and it often goes weeks. In fact I have never run out of charge, but I plug it in occasionally if I think about it. It goes to sleep in some way also, hence there’s no need to switch it on and off. After a cold start of the computer, just wiggle the mouse it and you’re off again.

I’ve been using various ergonomic mice due to my RSI on both hands. DXT wired mouse lasted the longest, but after five years (of heavy use…) USB cord started breaking up due to wear and tear, so bought a new wireless one. I’ve been using it more than a couple of weeks now, but battery hasn’t run out, so not yet recharged. One minor issue is that when I turn on the mouse it starts from right-hand mode as default though I use it on my left hand more often. It would be better if it could remember which hand it was used last time. Compact and high quality. Very useful and easy to carry around. (came with a small carrier pouch.)

It’s a great little mouse – lightweight and super fast. I had a repetitive strain injury from my traditional mouse and this one changed everything – no more pain. Unfortunately, after about 2 years, it stopped working. It has 2 year guarantee, so hopefully will be replaced.

I was recommended this by my physio when I went to get an issue with tendinitis looked at. She mentioned that, since I work with computers all day every day I should look for a vertical mouse to avoid having to twist my wrist into an unnatural position and showed me this one that she used.
It feels so natural in the hand and I was able to switch to it in no time at all, I had ordered one on Amazon before I left the surgery and have not looked back. Several people at work have now seen it and ordered their own as they can also see the benefit. The weight is just about perfect and so much easier to use than the bulky trackballs I have seen people use to avoid RSIs in the past. There are cheaper versions out there which I can’t comment on as I decided to just splash our for the sake of my health.

This vertical mouse has really helped reduce the pain in my wrist and arm. Within 2 to 3 days. It took a bit of getting used to being a higher mouse than I’ve used before but my hand has learned to move back and forth from the keyboard to the mouse by going around it rather than above it. I don’t even think about it anymore.

It’s exactly what I needed. I went through a Contour Unimouse, the Anker vertical, the DELUX unbranded vertical that you see a lto around. They were all too uncomfortable, generally because they keep the buttons too high. Even in the Unimouse’s case, which is an extremely adjustable mouse, that’s a problem that can’t really be solved. (Also the thumbrest gave the mouse far more thickness than I wanted)

Granted, I have very small hands. I’m 5’2 and all. But I wouldn’t call the DXT2 a mouse made for small hands, if you use the pinch grip, most hand types should adjust. I personally can actually grip the mouse and move it, since my hands are small, yet it’s not the intended usecase.

If you felt any of the issues I had above with other mice, give this one a go.

    Misc:
    – Build quality feels alright, it’s not on the level of a 100 mouse honestly, but it’s good enough.
    – Buttons are very easy to click and feel great.
    – Middle mouse is VERY easy to click down, thank goodness. The Unimouse’s middle mouse button required ridiculous pressure.
    – There’s no slot in the mouse to store the USB wireless dongle, but they do give you a small bag to carry both with you (+micro usb cable for charging). In retrospect, I believe I prefer the bag over the slot.

I hope the company stays afloat for long, and keeps delivering great innovative products.

After reading the reviews here and doing some more digging online about what is the best ergo mouse in the market. This is the mouse to order, I’ve suffered with Arthritis pain in my right wrist so much so that I had to take 2.5 years off work and only just returned. I bought this mouse and took it in to my office during my return to work phase and found this mouse extremely easy to work with in comparison to all other’s I’ve purchased personally and also worked better than the so called ergo mouse purchased by the company. I know it may look awkward to to you but trust me you’ll get used to it. The manufacturing company is also great to deal with, I don’t how but the USB dongle broke as I took it out from the cover, so i wrote to them and they sent me a replacement part in no time. 160$ Canadian Well worth the cost, Don’t hesitate to buy this mouse if you experience pain in your wrists GET IT!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this after trying the Anker Vertical Ergonomic Mouse which I found too big – with the Anker mouse, I found I had to use more muscles in my hand to use it than I would with a normal mouse, and it made my hand worse! I’m sure that is just a personal issue though, rather than an issue with Anker’s product.

This DXT mouse is much smaller – the length is similar to a mini mouse – and you can use it just with your finger tips rather than your whole hand. The buttons and scroll wheel take hardly any pressure to activate which ensures you don’t grip the mouse too hard! As long as it’s held at the correct angle, there are no issues with the mouse pointer direction.

I’ve found the DXT mouse great to use and very comfortable.

    Armschmerzen waren sehr schnell weg.

Had this Mouse for a couple of weeks now and it is very easy to get used to and has helped my RSI I have in my middle finger. The re-chargable battery seems to last for a few days without charging. If I could improve one thing it would be to move the scroll button a little further forward so that your middle finger is not having to be slightly closed, but that would then make it less comfortable for Left handed folk.

Using this mouse (in combination with ergonomic changes to my workstation arm rests) has helped to dramatically reduce my “mouse elbow” symptoms such that I do not have any weakness or pain. I frequently use both hands and find this mouse is very well suited. The build quality, battery life, and tactile response are at least as good as the best mice I have used. I am very satisfied and would like to see this mouse on store shelves so I can recommend it to more people.

Having owned a wired DXT mouse for a long time I bought one of these wireless ones… It’s even better than the wired version!

The ability to charge via a micro USB cable is way better than having to replace batteries, and you can even use it while it’s charging.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersHugely annoyed. 1 year and five days since spending 100 on my second DXT mouse and it has done the same as the last DXT mouse I bought …. stopped working! These mice are very comfortable to use but tend to be quite quirky and not particularly accurate to use at times. However, as the best shape to relieve repetitive use issues I stuck with it. But , two mice in two years?? That’s 200 on mice! I will replace with another brand as many more now available. Very unreliable, great pity.

    Update Jan 2016.
I had not noticed that DXT customer services had commented on this review until the end of 2015. I got back to them and was very pleasantly surprised by quality of customer care and their speed of service. Even though it was 18 months since purchase and 6 months post writing the review, a new MkII mouse arrived the next day. I’m very impressed with the upgrade and had forgotten how comfortable they are to use. Two weeks into the MkII and I’m absolutely delighted, I’ve tried six (yes six!) different ergonomic mice in the last 6 months and non have come close to the DXT, my RSI has almost disappeared in only two weeks after returning with a vengeance after using the other devices. Thank you DXT. I’ve upgraded your stars from one to three as it was reliability that I had an issue with. Once this mouse passes the 12 month mark I’ll definitely upgrade you to five as the mouse and the quality of service from DXT most definitely deserve them.

    UPDATE June 2016
I said I’d see how the reliability goes and to date all of my issues with the earlier version of this are no longer an issue. Battery life, responsiveness and reliability issues I had with previous versions have all gone. As has my RSI… Completely. Still expensive but worth every penny. At least the quality now matches the price tag. Customer service is top notch if you have any issues.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSuffering from a shoulder problem for some 6 years now, I have tried several agronomical mice in my endeavour to alleviate my shoulder pain, pain that is accentuated by the use of a regular mouse. I have found the vertical mouse to be the most effective in this domain and in particular, the DXT mouse. Despite its small size, I have found it to be more ergonomic and comfortable to use than more cumbersome vertical mice (I was initially seduced by a much larger vertical mouse which turned out to be less comfortable and quite difficult to adapt to). Over and above the ergonomic benefits, the compact size and wireless performance have made this an ideal mouse for business travel. This mouse comes with my highest recommendation for anyone looking for an ergonomic, comfortable and practical wireless (or wired) mouse

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI work in IT more than 16 years. Last year I began to feel pain in my right wrist, and that was symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. I have to use computer mouse because IT is my job, so I started to find a solution. I heard earlier about vertical mouses, but models like evolution etc was big and I did not believed that I can move that big mice all 8h. So searching web I found this new DXT mouse, watched video and I bought 2 of them – for job and home usage. I feel better after first 3 days of using and after 3 month I can say – this is great device ! No more pain, I can work on job, play at home without doubt. The only thing that I wished to work better – sleep mode and radio-connection: mouse are not awaking if you move it (may be accelerometer chip could solve this) and sometimes when I move it freezing on the way – may be because some other radio devices are working around – more testing needed (I have logitech wireless one – and that one can awake after move and have off button). But despite this issues this is very good and usefull device, my DXT working from full charge about a week (2-4 hours every evening at home). I suffered that I can’t play World of Warcraft with this vertical mouse – but I was wrong – this is possible, and much more – I can play longer 🙂 With this DXT02W I walked-through Pandaria and Draenor with no pain in wrist. Thank you CityErgonomics for this design, thank you Amazon for delivery and support !

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI love the mouse – not cheap but really good. Feels solid works beautifully.

    Customer service was first class.

When the mouse first arrived it wasn’t working properly – the battery wasn’t charging at all. I emailed the company and they responded within an hour or so. One further email to provide them with the Serial number of the failing mouse and they sent me a replacement which arrived the next day. This mouse worked (and is working) perfectly.

Love the ease with which it can be switched between left and right hand mode.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a nice little mouse & is definitely a lot more comfortable to hold/use than a standard mouse. I thought it would take some getting used to, but after about 5 minutes it felt completely natural. There isn’t much else that I can say which hasn’t already been covered in previous reviews & I would definitely recommend it. I deducted a star because of 2 things, the battery life could be better, approx 3 to 4 days heavy use, i.e. 10 hours per day, plus it’s not that easy to move around with the USB charging cable plugged in, but you will survive! The 2nd reason, is the fact that it is a little on the small side for a person with large hands!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI’ve tried quite a few ergo mice over the years: the Evoluent VerticalMouse 3 Wireless – Right Handed , Ceratech Accuratus Upright Mouse – Mouse – optical – wired – USB – silver, soft black , the WOW PEN.JOY BLACK and 3M Optical USB Ergonomic Mouse, Wired, 3 Buttons, Large

I got my first wired DXT a couple of years ago. It took a little getting used to because – like all ergo-mice – its shape is markedly different to run-of-the-mill mice.
But, once acclimatised, I found it to be the mouse I’d always been looking for, in that it prevented my wrist/arm-ache after long sessions with the computer (I’m a software engineer). The mouse is shaped and designed so that there is no difference in the mouse if used with the left or right hands. After a couple of months use I became ambidextrous with it and have even switched to preferring my left hand to my right (I am left-handed but always used the mouse in my right hand previously).

This wireless version is the same size/shaped mouse as the wired – without the wire! As such its the natural successor to my first model and I’m finding it just as excellent. When switching from left to right hand the wire could – if not cautious – become entangled with other things on the desk; cups of coffee being a particular hazard.

All the features of the previous model (my review of it is at http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2JKG1B3MXQHW4/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B003ZK73WK&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=) are present: the button that switches the mouse from left to right handed, the button that cycles through the mouse sensitivity (500 – 2000 dpi in steps of 500), the nice soft buttons and the smooth mousewheel.

When you pick it up there is no doubt it is a quality product. The casing is plastic, the base is metal and screwed to the case (with tiny screws) not clipped. If feels solid and well made.

I’m absolutely loving it and would recommend it to anyone in the market for such a device.

Update (5-Jul-2015 – after 3 years solid use): Still got this mouse, it still works and still use it every day (I work in IT). It’s battered, bruised and the anti-slip coating is wearing away where I grip it. I’ve de-gunked the mouse wheel several times and dropped it more than once. It works as well as first day I got it.
On another note, i’ve developed a strategy (to cope with the long hours at the keyboard) where I use this, a ‘normal’ mouse and, on occasion, a track pad. I find that by using them in a round-robin fashion and switching hands (it really does just take practice) I can stave off any aches and pains before they get a chance to set in. I wouldn’t mention it except that I did (mention it) to a colleague, he started doing the same thing and has seen good results too. Your mileage may vary – but it might be something to consider if you’re having problems.

Update (28-Apr-2017): Still got the mouse, still using it and it still works a treat. The exterior coating is understandably worn but i’m still getting flawless operation out of it. The battery still lasts as long as it ever did and the buttons maintain their soft and responsive feel. Over the last year i’ve been spending long, long hours (14/day) at the keyboard. Coupled with an egonomic keyboard, a streamlined round-robin system of alternating this mouse between hands and using it in tandem with a regular mouse (the track-pad mentioned above has been dropped!), I’ve managed to work these ridiculous hours without problems in my wrists/arms.

I’ve been using the wired version for the last couple of years and couldn’t rate it high enough – if I could give this product six stars I would (I gave the wired a 5!) I know it is high end but the price reflects the quality of the product, you get what you pay for and for me, it is worth every penny. I use the computer day in day out and work without any pain.

Prefer without wire which allows me to use the mouse mouse infront of my keyboard.
