Quoted yields are NOT based on ISO/IEC 24711 or 29102.Based on print volume of 100 pages per month and the lowest yield produced from the first set of inks.

Quoted yields may vary depending on the images that you are printing, the paper type that you are using, the frequency of your prints and environmental conditions such as temperature. During the initial printer setup, a certain amount of ink is used to fill the print head’s nozzles, therefore the yield of the initial bundled set will be lower.

Arrived in good time. Print quality is good although ink wouldn’t dry on one type of glossy photo paper I tried so it could be improved to work on all brands

Bought this to replace my 17 year old Epson printer, easy to set up, but just a warning to wait the 11minutes while it initialises the inks !
Bit of a faff to download the drivers on my computer.

Very pleased with this printer. So easy to set up and the ink just last and lasts. Quality is good but then we only use it for documents and not photo’s. I prefer a paper holder that sits under the machine so the paper is kept flat. but you cant have everything I suppose

Does the same job as my old Epson L365 printer, which Epson refused to fix because it was “too old” when the printer informed me that the printer head had gone past its expected lifetime (even though the printer head had not actually malfunctioned!)
This printer, the ET-2860, does exactly the same job as my old printer, but feels smaller and a little bit cheaper.
Improvements include the compactness, accessibility to the ink resevoirs, and the ability to fill the printer with inks without making a mess. The latter is the most important improvement thanks to the redesigned filling mechanism and bottles of ink.

This is my fist eco tank printer and although I’ve only been using it a short while I’m happy with it. I have always been an Epson print user and wouldn’t change that.
Print quality is very good. Photos look good and are a near enough match to my calibrated monitor.
setting up printing from iPhone had to be done using Epson smart panel and that hasn’t been a problem. I haven’t used a lot of the other utilities but so far so good.

It is very similar to the workforce but the ink is liquid and I am very impressed. the ink is lasting absolutely ages. I bought this printer in April and I am nowhere near buying new ink, with my last printer i definitely would have been. We have a little problem with the drivers on my laptop, but hubby sorted it out.
    I would recommend this printer.
I have the previous version Epsom workforce and the printer ink was becoming very expensive and the scanner had broken so I decided to buy this printer.

I’ve been waiting a decade for a printer like this. No low cost for printer and high cost for ink. Just paying for what it’s worth then being able to print continuously without worry.

The app is absolutely perfect for guiding you through connecting to WiFi and opening the reservoir to fill the ink. It’s a very clever design so no ink will drip.

Also using the app you can print any screenshot or pdf or word doc on your phone. It’s absolutely ideal and I’m very satisfied with this product.

    This printer is fantastic
    Easy to set up
    Love the compact size
Filling the ink tanks was super easy iv printed loads and it’s barely moved the ink level
    I love it
    Printing letters document stickers
    Copying sheets
    It’s just what I wanted
Easy to use doesn’t take up alot space would have preferred drawer feed for paper but it isn’t an issue for me backfeeder works fine too
It’s quick enough prints double sided imaging has been what I expected for Epson
I upgraded from a previous Epson so I am impressed but the quality all round
    Defo recommended

Quite a problem setting it up as I do not have a degree in computer science. No lead to connect to commuter which is a mear three inches away, no disk or link to talk to Imac. After some considerable time and the purchase of an after market USB lead, a good deal of time and head stratching tracking down the link on line I managed to get it up and running. They are saving pennies by not supplying a lead and a disk which is causing a lot of us a great deal of grief. PLUG AND PLAY IS ALWAYS THE WAY.

    EcoTank ET-2830.

Coming from an old Epson inkjet, we wanted something simple that was easy to setup, clear to understand, integrated with smart phones and so on. This did it all. Up and running in 10 minutes, via the app that makes everything easy to setup.

The ink refill was a revelation. Gone is the awkward getting the cartridges into the right place, to remove, replace, get back into the right place. Simple process here. Open the compartment, open the colour area, slot the ink bottle on, allow the ink to drain in (with auto stop when the tank is full), then reverse the process. Simple, clean (no spill).

Nicely integrated into the app, allowing direct print, scan, etc.

    Just easy.

If you’re after a simple document style printer, without any bells and whistles or rush to print, this is it. Cannot recommend enough.

What can I say about this printer quality, quality, quality. This is truly an excellent printer quality prints and endless ink. The only problem I found as many others did is the Wi-Fi and the auto setup software. First of all the software. everything sets up perfectly until you get to the Wi-Fi and then no matter what you try the software cannot connect to the Wi-Fi even though it can find it and you give it he password it always fails. The best way is to use the printer itself via the printer screen then it connects first time, but even though I was connect to the Wi-Fi network my computer still couldn’t see the printer so for anyone looking to buy one of these printers please choose the one with a alternative connection like the ET-2850 which has a USB connection as well make life so much easier and the printer works without an issue. To answer the question I’m sure your asking yes I can still connect via my table or mobile over Wi-Fi.

Had a bit difficulty setting it up. Wanted to do so via USB as it said it would. Using the supplied disc did not work. Had to download the driver from the Epson web site. After that it was easy. Black and white prints are very good. colour photos a bit muddy at times. It is quite light and seems a bit flimsy and sounds a bit clanky at times. However, it all works well. I like the ink bottles idea. So far so good.

I bought this printer 2 months ago & have loved using it. Have done loads of printing but hardly made a dent in the ink! Encountered a problem over the weekend. When printing on 250gsm card, the printer began registering a paper jam when there wasn’t one. Tried everything I could to sort it out, but nothing worked. I’d been successfully printing on this card since day one. I was still able to print on regular copy paper & 260gsm photo paper. Contacted Epson via web chat. Most frustrating experience – wouldn’t recommend it. Tried calling the Epson customer support number listed on Amazon, but it’s wrong (it’s actually for Gillett). Eventually tracked down the correct number & spoke to a very helpful agent. My replacement printer is being processed. Hopefully it won’t be long.

This will change your printing from costly to almost free!

The continuous ink system is as cheap as printing gets. Does not require much skill to fill up and really is mess free. I wear gloves anyway but never really needed.

What they don’t tell you is the printer has a lifespan of 50,000 pages. Once it’s counted 50,000 pages it will refuse to print any more without an Epson service which will cost you around 50 and you’ll have to arrange shipping to them. If Epson would just sell the waste ink container this could be entirely avoided. Seems quite unreasonable to me. Whilst you can buy 3rd party waste ink containers there is a software lock that needs to be reset in addition. The software tool to do this is about 3 button clicks but Epson won’t supply to the public.

Reading through some of the reviews on this printer I noticed a few that were getting frustrated with the WiFi setup.

I think I have the solution. Please read this before you setup the printer

In a nutshell “The problem is likely to be your Router” especially if it is a newer one that supports newer WiFi security features.

The printer is unlikely to connect to your WiFi network if your router uses WPA3 encryption. Even if you enter the correct WiFi password and put the printer right next to your router, it will not be able to maintain a stable connection, and it will fail. This really is a problem that Epson need to sort out!

The good news is that you should be able to change the WiFi Encryption to use WPA2 instead of WPA3, In addition the printer will only connect to the older 2.4Ghz Wifi signal – truth be told, it is a better frequency for longer range and more stable connections, especially for low data usage devices such as printers.

So here is a quick list of things to do, to which you may need help from your broadband providers support desk.

    1. Configure your Wifi router to use two separate Frequencies, 2.4ghz and 5ghz (name them something identifiable like Wifi2 & WiFi5) Caution!! – you will need to reconnect any wifi devices if you do change the SSID (wifi name) – some routers allow you to create a new wifi network, if this is available just create a new Wifi2 network instead, and leave your old wifi (SSID’s) available.

    2. set the Encryption for WiFi2 to be WPA2 – I used WPA2 PSK-AES (make sure its NOT WPA3…)

    3. Then setup your printer following the instructions that come with it. Connect your device to the WiFi2 network and use that to setup your printer.

Hopefully this will save you 4 hours of hair pulling frustration – luckily I don’t have much hair anyway 🙂 but at least you’ll not have to experience the same thing

p.s. The WPA3 encryption bug is known to cause issues with other devices too, such as smart home devices, so if you’ve got issues with any of those, you can simply reconnect them to your new WiFi2 network and it should work!!

    Good Luck!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI did quite a lot of research before purchasing this colour printer.
It was straight-forward to set up and has a very handy online video link that you can use to give visual assistance.
Filling the ink tanks is easy and non-messy and I was pleasantly surprised at how much ink was provided with the printer.
I print documents not photos, so I’ve found the print and colour quality to be good and adequate for my needs – although I might start to buy a slightly heavier gsm paper for colour printing double sided.
My one disappointment is that the advert said it printed double-sided, which was an important factor for me. Be aware that it only does this manually – you have to print the even pages first, then turn the papers over and upside-down and put them back into the paper tray and then print the odd pages. I’ve docked one start for this bit of misleading blurb.

I will add more details here when I have had the product a bit longer.

Golden Review Award: 47 From Our UsersWe decided to buy an ink tank printer as we’d already wasted far too much money on cartridges.
This one was replacing a HP Envy 6032e.

I didn’t really consider going for a HP ink tank printer as I’ve had 4 HP WiFi printers over the years and all of them have suffered with WiFi issues (occasionally just refuse to print over WiFi and require driver re-installs and other time wasting fixes (which my HP accredited tech support Son has had to deal with).

My Granddaughter has an Epson WF printer she uses for working from home and she told me it’s been faultless and advised me to go with Epson.

At the time of purchase the ET-2860 was 180 (annoyingly, 2 days after delivery there was a voucher for 10 off that price).

Installation via USB is very easy, pretty much plug and play.
Installation over WiFi on a Windows PC was a little bit of a faff but nothing majorly difficult.
The PC was connected to the router via a physical network cable, while trying to install the printer the software kept saying it couldn’t detect the printer.

The suggestions to fix it were a bit sparse. As the PC also has WiFi, I decided to disconnect the network cable and try again with the PC connected via WiFi.
Problem fixed, the software now detected the printer and installed it without any other issues.
Once done, changing all the printer settings etc was no different to pretty much all other printers.

Filling the ink tanks is quick and simple. The one thing to watch out for is the fact the attachments on all the bottles is the same so you can accidentally put the wrong colour inks in the tanks, just make sure you double check you’re putting it in the right tank and you’ll be fine.

Print quality is pretty good, text and diagrams etc are sharp. Photo’s are pretty good but it wouldn’t match up to a printer aimed at high quality photo printing.
I printed a photo on some 240gsm semi-glossy paper, the printer had no trouble with the papers weight (it’s rated for up to 300gsm) and the printed image was rather good.
Colours weren’t quite a match for what was on the screen (not as vibrant) but that was more likely to do with my monitors colour settings. Even so, the photo still looked quite nice.
I’ve no doubt some image editing would improve the colours of the printed photo.

The only part of the photo that didn’t look very good were scenes with blocks of dark gradients (like a large body of water on a dull day).
It’s didn’t look bad and from from more than a foot away you probably wouldn’t even notice.

The scanner is OK, much like the scanner on any other printer these days. Easily good enough for copying documents and photo’s with good accuracy.
Like other scanners, set the dpi to the higher settings and it will take a quite while.

After the printer was installed I was looking at the features etc, Epson have 2 different sections on their site for templates.
I was surpised at how many they had and how varied they were. All sorts of craft projects, birthday/etc cards, photo frames, wrapping papers (obviously for small items with this printer seeing as it’s A4).

I’m going to have lots of fun with that as I do like making my own cards and things.
If HP have anything like that they don’t go out of their way to make it easy to find.

Overall I’m very happy with the printer. The only things it lacks which you would expect on printers in this price range is a paper tray (which I prefer to rear tray feeding) and automatic duplex.
I’m not taking away any stars for those as I knew that before buying.

I did consider the ET-2850 as it does have auto-duplex but it was 70 more and I don’t need it enough to warrant the the extra cost (the 2850 also still has rear loading paper, if it also had a proper tray I may have bought it – hope you’re listening Epson, many people prefer a tray).

My 70 HP 6032e that this replaced had both auto-duplex and a proper paper tray, the only other real different between the HP and this Epson is the ink takes so it is a large expense for a printer that effectively has less features.
Over time the Epson will of course cost less as replacing the inks is massively cheaper (I did have a HP Instant Ink subsription but paying per page rather than how much ink you use only works out worthwhile if you’re covering the pages in ink, which I don’t often do – especially as we print a lot of A6 postage labels).

Knowing the future ink cost savings I think this is a worthwhile investment.
My Son wants to do sublimation printer and apparenty Epson EcoTank printers are the best value for that too.

Golden Review Award: 64 From Our UsersCame in it’s secure box, had to give the delivery person a password which was emailed to me in advance of delivery, which is a nice secure feature, first time having to do that.

It was easy to set up. Everything was in the box. The screen is small but it’s surprisingly easy to use anyway, that was my initial concern. You can set up via your smartphone by scanning the QR code. However, halfway through my setup, while waiting for it to do its thing, my phone went into screensaver mode and I think that halted the entire process, it didn’t progress and I couldn’t move on via the phone app. BUT, just finish it via the screen, it’s so easy. I mentioned that in case anyone else had the same thing and didn’t know what to do. The phone app is just another method of setup, it’s just as easy to use the actual printer screen.

Filling the ink was easy, no mess. Each ink bottle has its only nogging shape that slots into its respective tank, and you can sit it there without holding it.

Once it was set up it has to print a test page which was perfectly fine. And then it’s good to go. People have mentioned the cheap feel of the loading tray at the back, but tbh this isn’t any different from past printers. It’s the same plastic as my old Brother printer which I’m replacing. It does it’s job and that’s good enough for me.

I bought this as an artist wanting to print my own art and Etsy products and stickers etc. I did a lot of research before deciding on this model, and I’m not disappointed. However it has had some issues I had to get help for from Epson, but they have been very helpful.

Such as, the scanner itself. This scanner relies on your network, but it mine seems really iffy with being visible on my home network. My computer can find my old Brother printer with an entire floor between them. This one is sat right next to my computer and more often than not so far it can’t pick up the machine when I want to use the scanner (via the scan program). It finds it if I want to print, (I print mainly from Photoshop), but for some reason it’s not there when I want to activate the scanner. I’ve even used my Cricut cable to plug it into the computer but still not very good. Of the 5 times I’ve tried to scan from the Epson scan program, only 2 did it find the scanner. Now, my ISP is having issues, our network has been weak many days in the past fortnight, but it can still PRINT from my computer/network.

I have since contacted Epson to find out why, I will update this when I have a solution. It might just be user error (however even scanning from the printer screen itself doesn’t work). And I have only tried this several times. I wanted to mention this in any case.

The print quality, though, is well worth it. I went through a lot of Youtube videos to find out the best colour profile in Photoshop for my work, and the results are stunning. I compared my prints next to ones I had ordered from print companies, and my colour and quality looked even better.

It prints beautifully on matt, satin and glossy paper (my tests so far), though if you do print on glossy do some research on Youtube because you can get different qualities depending on the settings you use in your programs (i.e. set Photoshop paper settings for matt paper but putting glossy paper through gives a different quality than assigning glossy settings).

Also I have experienced the odd roller imprint of some prints. Not all of them, weirdly, just some. And the odd spot of ink where it shouldn’t be, always on the edges. I did read about this in other reviews though so it’s not a surprise. Seems to be just on the thicker papers.

Despite the scanner issues I personally have experienced, I’m very glad I bought this printer. For the price it’s exceptionally good and if you use it for your small business like mine I’m sure it will pay for itself.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersOnly a couple of weeks in but so far, so good. Setup was straightforward – didn’t come across the problems that others seem to have had. Love the ink loading process. I’ve been running (previous printer) on purpose built refillable ink cartridges and, on the occasional big print run, ended up refilling the black three of four times [bottle of ink/syringe/plug/tissue!!] so the bottles are a doddle.
Down sides? limited paper capacity and paper stands in a rear slot rather that (former machine) lying in a front loading paper tray. A bit noisy in operation – lots of bangs and cracks. Mus try the promised quiet mode. Print quality looks fine and double-sided – one of the deciding factors in this purchase is good although it stops to think a bit between front and back of print. Display screen is tiy – hands and knees job to see what it is demanding.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPrint quality is really good and twice as fast as my old HP printer. The setup is dead easy, just follow the quick install instructions on the phone app and its done. The ink bottles are massive and it’s easy to fill the printer’s tanks. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave had several printers since the early 80’s. This one prints well and images are good. It’s a little slow when printing high quality detailed images but not a problem.
One of the issues with past printers I’ve had is that we don’t print things very frequently and would often find the ink cartridges no longer worked when we came to print again. This ink tank system resolved this issue and we are very happy about this (no more wasting money on cartridges that dry out between printing sessions ).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI watched a guy unboxing on youtube before the printer arrived what a good idea that was printer installed without problems.

Before installing I had already downloaded the app that is required to print.

Before printing check the print quality as set to photo high quality and if like me you use cheap paper it helps not to waste ink and soak the paper.

Bit different to what I’m used to but hey it works and hopefully I will save a fortune in ink

    Pleased with print quality.

You have enough ink to completely fill the ink tanks even after the device sets up.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Userspositives – Printer was easy to set up, clever non-messy ink refill system. Print quality good.

Negatives – it is not easy to see the ink tank levels in anything less than full bright direct light. The monitor on the computer for ink levels is hidden in Epson Status Monitor 3, a button in the Properties page on the pop-up status button. Not obvious.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe set up takes a bit longer than normal but once the ink bottles have been filled it’s fairly quick.

Overall v pleased and happy I won’t have to buy any more HP cartridges every 11 minutes.

My only slight criticism is the paper sits at 45 degrees in a feeder at the back rather than horizontally inside the printer. Even the instructions say ‘if you leave (the paper) in the printer the paper may curl or the print quality may decline’.
A small price to pay for not having to buy HP cartridges again.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI bought this printer to replace an older, cheaper product which kept running out of ink cartridges. I liked the idea of the ink tanks.
I struggled a little with the initial set up but when I brought the printer closer to my router, it all connected up to the Wi-Fi much easier. It’s now set up a few meters away from the Wi-Fi and works perfectly.
The Epson App is easy to locate on the Apple App Store and pair with the device. The print quality is very good producing both black and white and colour documents. I’ve recently been away on holiday and had to print off numerous documents. The ink levels hardly seem to have dropped at all. With my old printer, cartridges would have needed to be replaced with that amount of printing! I really like how you can see at a glance, how full the ink tanks are.
I haven’t managed to connect to my Chromebook via Wi-Fi yet, but that’s down to my lack of IT skills. It works perfectly with a printer cable I bought separately for a few pounds.
I’m really pleased with this device and would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersYou save lots of money in ink over the year. I bought this to save money as ink can be so expensive, no matter what kind of printer you use. I bought this for my small business and I am saving money every month on ink. With this printer it is Wi Fi it has no USB port it is straight forward. Easy to set up and you get four bottles of ink you put into the four different compartment and it does save you loads of money on ink every month. I would recommend this printer it pays for it self and saves me loads of money on expensive ink. I bought extra bottles when I got this printer. The ink last a year from what the Company said and you get two year warranty. Customer service were great with me and I would highly recommend it for any small businesses like mines as we all need to cut back to save money. This was the best buy for my business.

his product is excellent to use. I used a cable for connection, and found the machine to be very quick to responed, and all functions scan, copy and print have been excellent all the time I have wanted to use it. I would certainly purchase it a gain.

It’s a great printer. Fast and uses very little ink. I like the fact you can monitor the ink levels. I need this printer for work and it’s doing a great job so far. Setting it up was not as easy as they made it sound. Could not use the app to connect. In the end my daughter had to do all the set ups for me. Thankfully, so far it’s stayed connected.

Purchased to replace 8 year old Epson printer that seemed to drink cartridges. Thus the reason for changing to this type of MFD. Also went for this model because it prints in duplex automatically.
Have been impressed so far with ease os set up (using ethernet connection to PC not WiFi), print speed and low ink usage.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis was so easy to set up, it really is idiot proof. Only one cable in the back, the set up with the android app on my phone took 15 minutes, and the ink bottles are simple to use.

I was a bit intimidated by the different ink system but they really thought of everything, you CANNOT spill it or put it in the wrong tank, the nozzles are a special shape to avoid that.

The app makes it really easy to print and scan, and the quality is good. I’m especially impressed by the scanner, the “high quality” option is tremendous – you can see the grain of the scanned paper.

I had one kerfuffle with a paper jam but it was easily resolved, and the app will tell you if there is an issue with the printer, and guide you to fix it.

    We’re in the future!

I have printed over three hundred full colour A4 pictures and I have barely used any ink. Much better than using highly expensive cartridges. My advice would be to use ONLY Epson dye based inks rather than cheaper other makes. Amazon has good deals for complete sets and I also bought a large black bottle because whilst I’ve used very little ink, the black one is a tiny bit emptier. My only regret is that I didn’t go for an A3 version. The images are breath-taking and the ink dries instantly

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThere are lots of good features on this all-in-one printer!
    1. The ink tanks. The cost of printing in both monochrome and full colour is the lowest in this category but a wide margin! This means you will recoup the extra you’re paying for this quality of printer over time, and continue to save for long afterwards.
    2. Speed of printing. Excellent in this price range, both monochrome and colour. And printing on both sides is fast too!
    3. Small footprint on your desk. Although it is rear loading, the paper feeds from the top, so the amount of space required behind the printer is kept to a minimum.
    4. Can be connected to wi-fi. You can send documents/pictures to the printer from anywhere in the building – or the world! And it will print from your friends’ or family’s or work colleagues’ mobiles and tablets etc.

Longevity cannot be assessed yet, but Epson is usually pretty good in this way – and there’s a 3-year warranty for peace of mind.

The only downside – not the best printer for photos, but perfectly adequate for everything else.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersOh my goodness! I actually ENJOYED setting this printer up. (I was dreading it). It was SO unbelievably easy. It’s been a while since I set a new printer up, and things have clearly changed.

I’d say: allow a good hour for set up because you need to download the app, fill the inks and wait about ten minutes for them to initialise, and then it needs a bit longer to set up after that. Just scan the barcode, download the app and Bob’s your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt; you are walked through every single step. I then went onto my gorgeous iMac and just found the printer and added it. The only pain in the proverbial is getting the little-used wifi password. Other than that, it couldn’t be more perfect!

The only issue I had was when I loaded the paper (I have the 2856 model), it said it wasn’t A4. I got a bit frustrated about that, because, obviously it was. In the end, I ignored it and just sent a document to print and that was that. It’s faster than our old Brother printer and so far, I am very happy with it.

I print a lot, so hopefully the ink lasts as they say.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersEpson Smart panel app is the way to go. I had read previous reviews saying complicated install. It was not that way for me. instead of trying to install to PC first, Its recomended to install on phone first, even if you intend to use it only with a PC! Although a lengthy prosess, it was easy to follow instructions on phone screen, and once installed on phone,it was very quick and easy to install software on my PC even with no Disc drive as the last thing on phone install tells you is address for online down load. The hardist part was my router password as a upper case letter K looked like a low case k. once I twiged what I did wrong all was well, even in that part it was trying to help me with surgestions what could be wrong. Oh and last but not least, filling ink tanks was a doddle, not a spec of ink spilt amazing easy task, full marks epso

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPrints nice and fast for simple black and white documents. Colour photos when using proper photo paper is flawless. Ink seems to be lasting well. Have had this about 7 months, black is maybe half full and the colour pots have hardly been touched (due to eldest printing loads of past papers etc. for studying).
Most importantly it doesn’t seem to waste ink the the Epsons of old.
Only negatives I have is that the espon software for PC is a tad rubbish and constantly wants to update. The Epson App on ipad, phone etc. is much better. Lastly you have to take care to load paper well (with guides tight to the paper) and not overload it or it can dog ear plain paper or worse jam.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersPurchased last year 2022, it says up to 3 years worth of ink. mmmmm, I have only printed black and white not that many times and colour printing has already run and only printer twice outs. 1year 3months its ready run out of link.

It also stopped taking the ink, first I thought it was the ink issue, but the issue was with ink tank. I was able to return it, as it was still in warranty but now it’s been returned from repairs without my printer cable. Honestly, you cannot make this up. It’s very frustrating, losing my time, getting on with my work without my printer.

Took over an hour to set up and when printing my first 22 page document went haywire half way through and wasted 20 pages of paper. Wouldn’t reset until I switched it off and on twice. Despite that good print quality and uses only a little ink so probably saves money in the long term.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have a 15 year old Grandson who is vulnerable and is not safe on the internet at all so we have no wifi for him and all printing has to be done via USB

The previous printer I bought was ”wifi only” even though the ink was very inexpensive on the subscription service as he does a LOT of printing of all his interests and I did not know it was wifi only ( and was shocked )

So I am returning the other one and this one was recommended to me for the high volume printing via USB and it works a treat now I have figured it out

I had trouble getting one bit of protective blue tape and foam off and did not read that you have to lept the whole top and then get the inner foam one out

THEN I thought I had set it up but I hadn’t as you have to do an ink set up by pressing the ink button for 3 seconds which takes 20 minutes , had a few hitches but once it was done properly it now works a treat and we both just use it via USB which is fine for both of our needs

Would never go with another printer again due to the HIGH capacity in tanks as my Grandson was going through the cartridges at the rate of knots but this ink should last him a long long time and no need for internet with this one which keeps him safe as we have no option now than a USB compatible printer , which is fine 🙂

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersManaged to do most of the set up from my iPhone, the printer found my WiFi network but I had no opportunity to enter my WiFi password. I retried several times but no success. I was then thinking I was in for a “techie” afternoon to attempt to set up manually, but thankfully it was not as difficult as I first thought once I got a magnifying glass to assist in reading the instructions on screen! All in all I was quite chuffed that at my age I had managed to set the printer up without any bad language
Having now tried various printing items I am very pleased with the overall quality of the printer. Having always used Epson printers I was somewhat reluctant to replace my old Epson SX535WD but in the end I had no choice I am certain that this ET-2850 will serve me well in the future.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDecent Printer for the price. I had to exchange mine as the scanned images had a big black stripe but I’ll put that down to being one of those things. Bit of a warning though, if you have ‘special’ characters in your wifi password ( ! in my case) DON’T use Epson Smart Panel on your phone to set it up as it doesn’t let you input special characters (unless I missed it somehow) Set it up using the CD and a temporary USB cable and its simple.

The ink tank is a good idea. We has endless trouble with non-HP cartridges. The hugely expensive “originals” were the only ones that ever worked satisfactorily on our HP OfficeJet. It seemed to have a mind of its own too. If it didn’t;’t want to work on any given day it just spent ages re-adjusting itself. Setting up the Epson was a challenge (hardware and software) for a non-expert but, having overcome the initial difficulties, we have a machine the works well. It looks and feels a little flimsy but the design seems good and it keeps on giving.

Instructions are a bit vague and the ‘smart’ setup on the app didn’t work so it was a manual setup for the wifi. The printer ran out of paper whilst printing a large document and there were no instructions as to what to press to resume printing after loading the paper. It turns out it is the copy button. Apart from this the printer works well, is fast and has a nice accurate print. There are large ink reservoirs so it should last a long time between refills. I have tried the printer With Linux Mint, windows 11 and Mac Ventura 13.3 all work well.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI bought an ecotank a couple of years ago for my daughter because she needed it for work and was a bit miffed it was so good to be honest, more so because her model wouldn’t work with my Linux Mint at the time. Fast forward a couple of years and I needed a new printer but am sick of fiddling with cartridges, saw this on Amazon with 30% off and snapped it up.

I have a dual boot PC but prefer to use Linux and am delighted to say it’s working well. No need to use the supplied Epson driver software as Linux Zorin and Mint knows what it is. I did test print from printer settings app and also from Libre Office on plain paper and from Shotwell photo app, all look good. Krita wouldn’t print but there are ways round that.
Also printed fine from my phone using “Epsom print enabler” app.

Does quick great quality prints and the Epson ink doesn’t smudge like the old inkjets. Printed 10 full A4 prints and can’t see the ink level dropped, that would have emptied my old printer cartridges.

Definitely recommend this printer, I love it.

It works in Linux Zorin and Mint! ❤️

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our Users***6 Month Update***
After 6 months of very regular use, this little printer has not yet required a top-up of ink, in fact it is still 80% full approximately. There have been no paper jams, no need to unclog inkjet nozzles, and no mis-prints. I estimate I may need to add ink in about a year’s time. Absolutely brilliant.
    ********************************
This Epson EcoTank printer (ET-2810) was a distressed purchase after Canon sent my old printer a “firmware Update” which killed it. Why I installed a firmware update for a printer, I will never know. Anyway, in protest, I defected to Epson.
There were several reasons I chose this printer:
    1) Eco Tank seems to be the way forward, huge ink capacity and no cartridges, therefore cheaper to run and better for the environment with far less waste.
    2) Epson were running a 25 cashback offer at the time, which equated to a further 15% off the purchase price.
    3) Recent reviews were favourable, most of them giving upvotes for print quality and value for money.
    4) it comes with 4 full bottles of CMYK ink, 65ml in each – which Epson claim is equivalent to 72 ink cartridges… Strewth!
I’ve had this printer for a couple of weeks now, and I do like it a lot. However, the menu system is entirely app-based, not via any screen on the printer (it does not have a menu screen!) and installation of the menus on my PC was a little laborious. The corresponding app on my Samsung Galaxy was equally slow in installing, but once completed, both appear to be working OK.
By the way, if you own an iPhone or Mac, don’t expect the native IOS AirPrint to work. It won’t. You HAVE to install Epson Smart Panel for iPhone and also the same for the Mac. AirPrint does NOT work.
In operation, the printer is faster than the previous printer, and the text it produces is very crisp, almost laser-like in print quality. I have used the scanner a couple of times, the menu system on the app for the PC takes some getting used to, and some of the settings are a chore to find and adjust, but the results are OK. Not the best scanner in the world, but good enough for documents.
The footprint of the ET-2810 is a little smaller than the Canon MG7550 but you need a little space at the rear to allow the paper loading tray to sit at the correct angle (I have my printer hidden in a cupboard which keeps the dust off) and I just flick the cupboard door open when I use the printer.
From what I can tell, the amount of ink this printer uses will make it very economical to run, and the 65ml bottles of original Epson ink bottles are available for under 10 each at the time I write this.
In all, a good printer and good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersI set up printer ET-2850 this morning. These are my initial comments, I will update after printing more than the test pages.

    Reviews –
This printer had very good reviews and it took a long time for me to choose this one (ET-2850). Whilst reading the reviews I noticed most of the reviews were for a different Epson printer. The actual printer being reviewed is shown in very small letters so be sure you are reading a review for ET-2850.

There were many reviews about the size of the LED screen. The screen is small but I am not having trouble reading it. It would definitely be a challenge for some especially if the environment isn’t well lit.

    What’s in the box –
The item listing indicates the box contains a ‘printer’. Unless I missed it, the listing did NOT say there are 4 small ink bottles within the box. For that reason, I ordered ink which cost an additional 37. After ‘charging’ the ink and printing 3 test pages the ink levels have dropped slightly. The label atop the printer (see photo) indicates 14,000 Black and 5,200 colour which is a lot of printing in my view. Did I need the additional ink? Not sure yet but be aware of that nuance.

    Set up –
This took a while (about an hour) to set up because the instructions don’t advise that you’ll need to use both your smart phone and the LED screen on the printer. Have them both ready. Whilst initialising the ink, it locked up 2 times but that’s because I didn’t know to use the LED screen. Once I figured that out, it was quite easy.

I’ll update soon about the print quality, etc, but so far so good.

    UPDATE July 2022

The printer does a good job with documents but I’m having trouble with photos. The first photo printed in 1.5 minutes in best’ quality which is quite slow. I changed the setting to’ normal’ and it prints much faster but every photos has a gray tone which has gotten worse with each one I print.

I’m going to brighten the exposure in PS just to get this project done but I’m not happy with the quality of printed casual family photos. Let’s hope this is an easy fix

I don’t know if this is an issue with eco printing, this printer (ET2850), or just a setting problem but I’m disappointed just now.

    FINAL UPDATE
I have now tried all the options for printing photos and it’s still disappointing. If you need good quality printed pictures, this is not the printer for you. I take a lot of pride in my images and. My 40 Argos printer did a better job with photos than this eco printer. It’s great for documents and I’m happy to save all those wasteful cartridges, but if I need pictures I’ll need to order prints online.

    The end.
